The fabric the pants are to begin with is stretchy; the elastic makes the waistband smaller but expandable so they'll still fit while the tummy is growing and not just fall ******** off. STRETCHY FABRIC = BIGGER. ELASTIC = SMALLER. STRETCHY FABRIC + ELASTIC = LOTS OF DIFFERENT POSSIBLE WAIST/HIP MEASUREMENTS. I MEAN COME ON. I'M SORRY WHICH ONE OF US SEWS? Go ahead and attach a band of elastic to a pair of pants that DOESN'T stretch and see if it makes it bigger. GO AHEAD, I'd love to see that work! It'd be magical! THE MORE YOU KNOW BUZZ! It's not a lack of knowledge, it's a conscious choice. Whereas whom and semicolons are just things lots of people don't know how to use. I know how to use capitalization, I just chose not to. (look, basic capitalization!) I find it hella silly you attack everything! :3
