Corrine giggled at her mother, "Yup, he sure did!" Her golden eyes lit up playfully, "If it wasn't for Corrine he'd neva get up!"
"Ah. He does enjoy food. Morning, Wyatt." Replied Kincaid with a light chuckle before he sat and started eating. After swallowing a few bites he looked up at Mersi with a shrug, "Not much of an emergency. Just a couple of late orders for herbal specialties that I had to take extra time to mix up for them. Plus I had to deliver them after wards. Mom also needed some things."
"I'll pass!" Corrine scrunched her nose up at the food and shook her head repeatedly. "Jus' finish. I wanna do somethin." She nodded before looking around and giggling at Wyatt. "Silly! The pwates sparkles wit that stuff!" Right? For her if something sparkled then it had to be good..
Kincaid just shook his head at his children with an amused grin. What an active bunch.

Mersi couldn't help but laugh at Wyatt's surprise. "It's soap. It's for cleaning, not eating." She nodded at Corrine. "Exactly. The soap makes the plates sparkling clean. It does nothing to the taste." Giving Kincaid a nod as well, she focused on the dishes with more concentration than was necessary. His mother... She was still dreading the day she would eventually have to meet his family. Though, she heard the children were well accepted, and that was what mattered most. .....Still....
Wyatt's ears perked curiously. Soap? "Like bat time!" He exclaimed, proud of his new knowledge. He wasn't allowed to eat bath soap, so dish bath soap had the same concept! He looked over at his siblings as they brought up doing something, standing by Mersi but listening intently.
Wiping off the rest of the food from his face and licking the last crumb off his fingers, Gabriel eagerly hopped up. He even held up his hands to prove they were food free. "Whatchya wanna do?"

Corrine inspected her brother before grinning, "Good!" Looking around the child paused with a frown. What could they do? "I dunno." She finally said with a pout, "Whatcha wanna do?" She looked at both of her brothers with both ears tilted in curiosity.
"Want me to get the rest?" Kincaid asked Mersi as he rose with his empty plate. His golden gaze was warm though a bit sheepish, "I feel like I've done nothing at all here." The foxtaur fought back another yawn as he slipped the plate into the soapy water.

Mersi flicked her ears, giving Kincaid a surprised look. Her eyes trailed to the children debating their day together and a small smile lifted her features. "You've done a lot here. Don't worry about that." She met his gaze, smirking and spreading a dollop of bubbly soap on his nose. "However, if you want to finish this, I can finally get started on that leaky ice box. I swear, if I ever again see that cervi who sold me that piece of-" A quick glance at the children and she forced a cleaner end to her sentence. "-inadequate equipment I'll give her a piece of my mind." She shook her head, thinking about the special meat that she had hunted fresh and had spoiled the last couple days from poor refrigeration. So much for saving it for the dinner with her parents that she had been planning.
Wyatt flicked his tail, hugging Mersi's leg as he giggled at Corrine. "Wanna check on t'ose bird eggs we saw'd yesterday? Maybe dey hatched."
Sighing, Gabriel rolled his eyes at Wyatt. "That was borin' Wyatt! They just sit there all day." His nose twitched as he thought. "I wanna see gramma! And gramma!"

"Alright." Kincaid rubbed his nose and chuckled softly before sticking his hands into the warm water, "If it wasn't a her, I'd give her more than that." Muttered Kincaid. He'd noticed how bad that bugged Mersi and if it wasn't for being somewhat of a gentleman...
"Anyway, I'll finish these and give you a hand with that." Kincaid commented while drying another dish. "I've got nothing to do today anyway."
"We could at least check 'em." Pouted Corrine for Wyatt. Though she did perk up at the thought of seeing their grammies. "Both?" She giggled at Gabriel before looking over to her parents, "Co-could we prettah please?"
"Umm..." Kincaid looked up at Mersi at his children's request. "It would work out if your mom wanted to come over." He said softly. "Mom may not be busy today either. They could watch the kids for us, while we attack that ice box."

Mersi nodded, drying her hands off with a smirk. She couldn’t hear what he muttered, but she had the basic idea from his tone. So as long as the children didn’t distract them the entire time… How would she fix that problem? Gabriel answered that question soon enough. Both mothers over here? At the same time?! …It was bound to happen eventually, and she couldn’t deny that it would help for them to keep the children preoccupied while she and Kincaid worked on the ice box. She glanced up at Kincaid, down to the towel, sighed, and turned to smile at the children. “That sounds like a fun day…”
Wyatt smiled happily at his sister. At least she didn’t think the bird eggs were boring. What a silly idea… boring eggs. Yet, Gabriel’s suggestion did pique his interest. He looked hopefully at his parents. “Yay! Gramma!” He paused, tilting his head. “And, gramma!” He concluded with a giggle. “We can see teh bird eggs on teh way to get them!”
Gabriel clapped his hands, tail swaying excitedly. He liked when others thought he had good ideas. “So, I go get gramma, and Corrine go get gramma, and Wyatt help clean for when we get back!” In his excitement he scurried for the door, failing to mention which grandmother he was headed for, not hearing Wyatt's soft plea to see the eggs.

"Alright." Kincaid started to attack the remaining dishes so he could watch out the window. "I'll makes sure that they make it from the yard." He commented leaning out. It wasn't like his mother lived too far from here. Terrie lived even closer to the house.
"Yeah!" Corrine giggled and clapped her hands excitedly as she scurried after Gabriel. "I get Gramma Willow!" She called out before her father's voice stopped her.
"Corrine! If you're going to get 'Gramma' Willow over here, you should take Wyatt with you too." Kincaid nodded at his son. It was better for the two of them to be together since it was a slightly longer walk to his family's house.
Corrine pouted a little. She was hoping for some adventure! But it was okay, Wyatt could be an adventurer with her. "Alwright." She grinned at Wyatt, "We cans look at da eggs on the way."

Wyatt yipped happily, looking up at Kincaid with adoring eyes. With a tail flick and an incoherent sentence about eggs, he hurried after Corrine, eager to see the eggs and gramma Willow. The idea of having both grandmothers over was nearly overwhelming him with anticipation.
Gabriel was well on his way to fetch grandma Terrie, happy to have gotten out of seeing a boring bunch of eggs. He scurried down the grassy path that by now was more dirt than grass. Many paws had gone through there from building the home to the recent visits among the generations. "Graaaaammmaaaaaaaa!!" He shouted, announcing his self in his usual loud manner even before he could see the house. Oh, look! A bird nest! No, focus. "Graaammaaaaaa!"
Unable to help but chuckle at the enthusiasm, Mersi padded over to a large drawer to pull out the necessary equipment for the project. She was determined that the ice box would be better quality by the evening than it had been when she had first bought it. "I'll get it ready down there, then you can holler down when they arrive." She said to Kincaid, ready to slip into the comfort of the cellar, still worrying over what Willow might think of her. Despite the reassurances of Kincaid and the children of the woman's delightful character, she still worried. Offspring and babies were one thing...

"Kids." Kincaid smiled as he watched all three of their children disappear from the yard. Did he have that much energy as a child too? Scary. Turning away from the window, Kincaid walked back over towards the dishes. "Alright. When they get here I'll let you know." He grinned and saluted Mersi before starting to wash the dishes again, "G'luck."
"Wanna see the eggs now?" Corrine asked as she grabbed Wyatt's hand, "Or do ya wanna get Gramma first?" Her tail waved happily behind her as they turned away from the house. It was time for adventure!

Wyatt padded into the woods with an excited skip in his step. "I bet gramma would wanna see teh eggs. She likes babies a lot, so she would want to see teh eggs." He nodded matter-of-factly.
Nodding, she vanished into the cellar and spread out the tools. She set to moving what salvageable meat and the remaining ice she had been forced to keep in there with her temporary fixes into a metal pan to hold it until they were finished. Focusing on the work helped her calm down.
Gabriel screamed excitedly when the house came into view. The house meant hugs, cuddles, and usually something chewy and sweet that would stick to his teeth annoyingly but tasted delicious. "Gramma! Grampy!" When neither grandparent answered his hollering, he banged on the door. "Gampy! Where's gramma? She needs to come visits!" About ready to start pouting, he yelped in surprise when a flash of green fluttered passed the edge of his vision.
"Gabriel, you little fluffy love!" Terrie said happily, scooping up her grandson and tickling his side to his happy shrieks. "You're disturbing the peace of my garden." She laughed, giving him a hug before setting him down in order to carry her bag from the market inside, relieved that she had returned when she had. Who knows how long the boy would have yelled at that door! Until his voice was hoarse probably.

Already he had finished drying dishes and was carrying the dirty water outside. It was early still so he wasn't expecting anyone back yet, though he knew how energetic they had all been. Maybe they were already on their way back?
"True, true!" Corrine giggled, "We get gramma first!" Tugging Wyatt's hand, Corrine grinned at him and started bolting up a different path that was familiar and well worn. Walking along she started humming loudly to pass the time until they climbed up hill and came towards a stream. "Oh! Oh!" Corrine laughed as she pointed, "Dere's the waterfall!"
And next to that should be - yup! Gramma's doorway to her slightly underground home. "Gramma Willow!"

Wyatt passed his own time by keeping on the lookout for dangers. There wasn't any danger on the trail today, but he liked to think of himself as the protector of his siblings when mom and dad weren't around. He grinned when they reached the house, allowing Corrine to call for attention, tail flicking eagerly to see gramma Willow.
Taking off her temporary leak cover, Mersi cursed softly at the rush of water from the crack. She slid off one side, peeked into the space and her cheeks suddenly burned angrily. Damn that cervi! The insulation was junk! Flaking and falling apart. And she had bought it. It was all her self control to not throw the waste of coin against the wall. She would have to go buy good insulation that she had thought she already paid for... A string of curses filled the air for a few seconds as she glared at the box.
Gabriel followed at Terrie's heels until he spotted the sweet jar and made a bee line for it. "Gramma! Can I?" He spotted a small doll that had been left from their last visit and perked his ears. "Oh! Come visit gramma! Gramma Willow will be there, and we can have lots of fun!"
Terrie shook her head affectionately. Always the first to the sweet jar. At the mention of the mysterious gramma Willow, her ears perked up and back straightened in surprise. If she recalled correctly, that was Kincaid's mother. She grinned at the opportunity. "That sounds like a fine idea Gabriel." She chuckled, reaching over and batting the small grabbing hands from the sweet jar. "We'll take a few of those over to share with everyone, but you can help me put my shopping away first."

Worried Kincaid's ears turned towards the sound of cursing. With a small frown he walked to the cellar doorway and peeked in, "Problems, Mersi?" He asked softly as he leaned inside.
"Mamaw!" Corrine shrieked happily as she tackled the golden cattaur who had just emerged from around the house. "Hiii!" She giggled again as she blinked happily up at Willow. "We comes to get ya!"
"You came to get me?" Willow tilted her head with a pleased purr as she scooped up her granddaughter. "What's the occasion?" A flicker of worry passed over her features, "No one is hurt right? No sickness or anything?" Her tail flicked back and forth as Corrine shook her head.
"Nope - no problems! We just want you ta visit. Daddy said you has a free day today." The girl giggled and cuddled against the warm cattaur before pointing to Wyatt, "We came to get ya! Gramma Terrie is gonna be there too, Gab wents ta get her."
Willow smiled as Corrine wiggled back to the ground, "Well. I guess it'll be fine." The cattaur looked around with a small nod, "It wouldn't hurt to visit and meet your gramma Terrie." Not to mention Mersi - Willow was excited to see who it was exactly that had won her son's affections.
"Let me grab my things and then we'll go."
"Alwright!" Corrine smiled triumphantly as her gramma disappeared indoors for a second and returned with a small satchel.
"Let's go!" Giggling Corrine latched onto Willow's hand and bounced after her.
With a light purr Willow walked to Wyatt and held out her free hand, "Ready to go, Wyatt?"

Wyatt smiled happily, tail flicking back and forth as he reached to take Willow's hand. "Yes gramma." He skipped a little as he walked alongside her. "Wanna see some bird eggs gramma? We found dem a while ago. Mehbe dey hatched!"
Mersi snorted as she huffed at the ice box. Ears flicking at Kincaid's voice, she growled up to him, "Never mind running into that cervi. I'm going to go find her and shove this thing up her backside!" She grabbed a chuck of the crumbling insulation and walked to the bottom of the steps, glaring as she held it up lividly. "You see this!? This is junk! I paid money for a pretty box!"
Finished putting away the shopping bounty, Gabriel stood in the doorway bouncing on his toes. "Come on gramma! Come on gramma! Come on gramma!" He wanted to get back before the others and win!
Terrie sighed. "Calm down Gabby. Patience is a virtue as they say." She took his hand and headed down the familiar path. Soon enough she smelled the strange willow-like tree, still there from when she and Emris had discovered the place. She also heard a faint shout. Aw... something had Mersi worked up again. She chuckled, scooping Gabriel up again. "Lets wait out here for a minute." She distracted him with the discovery of a frog in the shade.

Oh! How could she have forgotten? Corrine sent a sheepish smile over to Wyatt before nodding furiously, "Yup! Yup! Ya gotta come see, gramma! Pwease?"
Willow purred in amusement, "Of course! Baby birds are so cute. It makes me think of how adorable all of you were as babies." She gave a soft sigh before kissing the top of her grand children's heads. "We better move fast then, hmm?"
"Yeah!" Tugging at Willow's hand, Corrine giggled, "Lets go!" With that she started speeding down the path and towards the direction of the nest.
"Oh boy." Kincaid slipped down to Mersi and laid a calming hand on her shoulder before reaching out to take the junky insulation. Narrowing his eyes the foxtaur let out a couple of curses as he realized how right Mersi was. "How did she get away with this, Mersi?" He asked roughly before shaking his head, "Never mind. We'll just have to go buy a new one from the market." Surely both their mothers wouldn't mind babysitting during that time.
