Rena followed from the rear, being her usual eager-to-help self the whole way. She was helping Daras pick up the weapons for some reason, but since she could only carry a small bundle of them she stopped with three spears, two swords, and one knife in her arms. She had started picking them up a little after she saw Daras doing it, so it wouldn't be surprising that people wondered what she was doing. When they got to the door, she heard Joe's call and she almost dropped all of her weapons when she went down to the ground. She had no idea what was going on, and wasn't aware of her inability to use magic yet.

Krisa flattened herself down, getting out of the range of the flying weapons but staying ready to attack in a heartbeat. Taking in the room on the other side at a glance, she saw Joe try to use his power. When he failed, she gave hers a quick test of her own, and, finding them useless, she let out a loud roar and charged into the room as low and fast as she could. Racing toward the nearest person, she swiped out with her claws and lunged forward, going at the throat with her teeth.

Hearing the call to get down, Daras throws himself to the floor. A moment later, what could best be described as a ripple, moves through the floor as the stone outside of the doorway pulls itself up into a curved wall, effectively blocking more than half of the doorway in a dome shape. It seems to take longer then the floor changing, even though it is a smaller area. Pulling himself up a little, he comments, "That felt a lot harder then it ought to have been. I think they threw up an anti-magic field. Anyone else have magic?" Anyone looking would notice a sheen of "sweat" across the plates on his head.

Merasha took no qualms about dashing to the hard floor, bruising and scraping her arms as she dove to the cold, hard surface. Her hands covered her neck and she shut her eyes tight, her tail swatting side to side beneath her long robes, just the tip of it peeking out. "I knew this was going too easily!" she grumbled plaintively as she heard Daras proclaim that there might just be an anti-magic field. She remained low, but tucked her feet under herself, shifting to a more crouched position, rather than remaining postrate and therefor vulnerable.

The call to get down did not fall on deaf ears, for Talmaya, despite feeling the connection with magic vanishing, quickly dropped to her stomach. One of her knees fell down on the flat of one of the blades Rena just just dropped, causing her to wince. Her hands pressed against the stone floor, feeling its ripples as it lethargically answered Daras' call. Her eyes looked madly about as she tried to make sense of the situation. "I can not cast!" she called in response to Daras' inquiry.

The battle roar was hardly intimidating to the group of magic casters, there being eight in total. However, melee combatants they were not. The closest mage was unable to gracefully evade the fury of Krisa's claws. There was a tearing sound as claws snagged on fabric, and grazed flesh. The mage let out a yelp as he struggled against her. The next nearest mage disappeared from his stance, reappearing well out of Kirsa's reach, leaving his fellow magic caster in her grasp. Three other mages disappeared and reappeared surrounding Kirsa, two flanking her, and one coming up behind. With the stone wall that had come up to shield the rest of the party from the barrage of weapons, she was temporarily on her own. The mage behind Krisa drew out a knife from his robes and attempted to stab her in the back with a strong, overhead strike. Meanwhile, the two flanking ones brought out crossbows and procceded to load them. The other four mages stayed back... wait... the other three. The one that had used the remaining time before the magic-null reached him to teleport away had scuttled out the front doors.

Joe flipped over the wall and charged in, swinging the Saint's Saber in a glimmering arc that would decapitate at least one of the mages, maybe two, if they didn't move quickly.

Krisa didn't notice the mages flitting from where they had been, but she sensed when the appeared behind her. At the last minute, she dodged out of the path of the knife. It grazed her shoulder, a trail of crimson blossoming in her snowy fur.

Howling in pain and rage, she pounced at the mage with the knife, throwing the weapon across the room and knocking him to the floor and biting deep into his throat before going after the next mage.

Rena remained close to her master while still keeping her body close to the ground, just in case some weapons began to fly again. She had set aside the weapons she was carrying, since they seemed to be more of a nuisance than anything, and simply stayed with her master. Looking at her, she said. "Master, do you think they'll be okay in there? I wish there was something I could do but without my magic I'm useless.." She looked down sadly. It was sad for her to admit it, but she knew it was true.

((Remember to avoid auto-hitting, even if they are NPC's. I'll let it slide this time, but in the future I will demand a re-write of your post))

Merasha remained on the ground. When she heard Rena's voice, she peeked one eye open, glancing at the fairy child. "Well... maybe not entirely useless... you can fly without the use of magic, can't you? How much weight can you lift?"

The knife wielding mage went down easily under Kirsa's ferocity. The swiping arc of Joe's Saint Saber narrowly missed this mage's head, barely passing over Kirsa who went down with him - leaving him to a more gruesome fate. The clatter of his knife skidding across the stone floor resounding. However, it was nothing compared to the scream that shot out of his mouth - but was short lived. It quickly turned to a rasping sound, and ended in a vague girgling noise as a red foam bubbled out of his mouth. The arterial spray gushed out, dappling Krisa in even more red.

The second closest mage that had fumbled in loading his crossbow looked up only to have this throat cleanly cut away by Joe's slicing blade, the force causing the head to spin a little before falling with the rest of the convulsing body, and then roll out of the hood. Like Merasha, it was a grey skinned being, but with a large pair of bull horns. Unlike Merasha it was a gaunt visage with defined cheekbones and a long, pointed chin.

The third Mage, who had more skillfully loaded his weapon hopped back two paces, having a moment of hesitation as to whom he should fire at. However, as the leopard woman was already wounded, and not as heavily protected, he fired the crossbow towards Krisa, his hand shaking heavily.

The other three mages were backing up. Either they had no combat training, no weapons, or had some alternate plan. However, it was difficult to really tell just what they had up their sleeves, if anything at all.

((By the way, if I'm making this too graphic, feel free to request me to tone things down. I'd gladly oblige.

Also if you are confused about the current positions, here's my idea of where everyone is right now (and bow before my artistic prowess) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/My_Oubliette/temp/sit1.png ))

Krisa spat out the blood and bits of flesh in her mouth. There was something about the taste of these creatures....

She saw one of the mages leveling a crossbow at her. Trying to dodge again, she leaped to the side. The bolt missed her by a mere fraction of a centimeter, but her escape wasn't perfect. She stumbled on the landing, twisting her left front paw and crashing heavily to the ground, momentarily stunned by the wave of pain.

Joe watched as Krisa went down, though he was impressed at her speed. To have been able to dodge a crossbow bolt at that range was certainly a feat. When she fell, however, Joe didn't hesitate to step over her and slash the Saber at the enemy mage's face, following it with another slash aimed diagonally across the chest, then a jab.

Rena had to give it some thought as she looked over to the bundle of weapons she had dropped before. Pointing over to them, she smiled and said. "I can carry that much!" Usually she could carry just as much on the ground as when she was flying. She simply had to flap her wings a little harder to stay in the air. She wondered what her master was thinking about, but she wanted to make herself useful in any way!

Pushing the wall backwards on top of the weapons embedded into the crust, the wall, and weapons, glide back into the floor, leaving a seamless patch of stone, in the otherwise brick-like floor. Putting his hands back on the floor, it ripples, answering his call again. The doorway leading to the outside world closes on itself, crushing the wood and leaving spikes of wood sticking out from the, now non-existant, doorway. "That is about all I can do without pushing it, right now. It would help if someone could undo the field." Looking back at Merasha and Talmaya, "But I don't think either of you know how to work with rune magic, do you? If you can, tell me and I'll bring up the runes we need." Without waiting for a response, still bent over, he sprouts needle-like spines from between the plates on his his tail, and commences a charge at the nearest mage, with an intent to grab the mage with said tail.

Merasha shook her head uneasily when Jacior asked about the rune magic. "I..." she trailed off. She knew a few runes from her world, but didn't know their full purpose or fuller understand them, let alone could she use them in any situation other than the few she was taught to use them for. "The ones I know would not be useful here," she said with more confidence. She glanced across the way at the splintered door. "Niiiiiiice work...." she said before clearing her throat and glancing over at Rena. "Yes, bundle up weapons and throw or drop them on or at the mages. Keep high up so they can't reach you. If we can't use magic, neither can they... although more of them may have crossbows. Er..." she glanced at one of the large axe blades. "You might be able to use an axe blade as a shield with just a slight modification..." she glanced at Jacior. "Can you manipulate metal?"

Talmaya tilted her head at Jaciors inquiry about runes. Although one appeared on her head, it wasn't through runes that she used magic... that was more or less the system of other races. "I am sorry, but no." She rubbed her forehead again then slowly raised herself off of the stone floor. Into the many layers od loose cloth she fumbled until she brought out a small bag and two canteens. "Miss Rena... if you could let the fighters know that if they take too serious of a wound before the battle is won and the magic restored, that I have some herbs and bandages that would help... if they can make it back here?"

The three mages who had been staying back finally rushed into the fray, seeing the other mages going down with ease under the prowess of their opponents. One of them held out an icon in one hand, a silver medallion depicting a circle with a diamond in the center. The other two were throwing... what appeared to be salt in front of them.

The mage with the crossbow hissed at his narrow miss. He would have started to load again, but seeing Joe baring down on him, he tucked his weapon away and hopped back, narrowly missing the slash to the face. Another step back on his right foot, and then pivoting on that heel narrowly missed the diagonal slash, with managed to only tear a little at his robes. However, before he could set off in a run, the thrust got him square in the back. This certainly brought him to a pause as he tensed up, screamed, and then slumped forward away from the sword, but not entirely falling off of it, adding unbalanced weight at the end of the blade.

Of the three mages that were returning to the battle, the one holding the icon was leading the charge. What they were doing was part of an old useless superstition supposed to repel evil spirits and wicked demons. The one holding the icon was the closest Jacior could reach, and he stood stupidly with his faith in this icon, only to get painfulled snagged by a spiny tail. "Begone demon!" he shrieked in almost falcetto tones, dropping the medallion.

Throwing the amusing mage almost nonchalantly at the others, picks up the medallion and moves back over towards Merasha. "I can, and I do it very well at that. What is it you want though?" Remembering the weapons under the floor, he brings them back to the surface, and grabs them. He dumps the rest of the objects he picked up on the way down out of a pouch onto the floor, and grabs the things Rena pick up with his tail and dumps everything but the medallion onto the pile. Glancing at Merasha, "You think this will be enough for your plan?"

Rena looked curiously at the pile in front of them. She did like her masters plan, and she knew that she could definitely do it if she tried. She would have to be quick, but at least she could join the battle and be helpful. Her eyes going over to her master now, she said. "I can do that! I'll do my best at it too!"
