Conrad placed his orange juice carton down on the table decisively. "That settles it, there's something weird going on here," he said, beginning to feel on edge. He didn't know what was going on, and that frightened him. Usually, just the fact that the stars could tell him when night came made him feel better. But today he didn't have that reassurance. ... Wait a minute. "Guys? I mean, girls? I... I can't hear the stars."

"Well that's not a good thing..." Eliza said as she slide her glove off her arm slowly. She realized that whatever that was going on was bad, she just needed to know that it affected her, too. She stretched her arm out to the side towards Eva, hoping she didn't see it coming. Normal? Even for a moment, it would be wonderful She thought as she moved her hand closer so her fingers were millimeters from brushing Eva skin.

In truth that she learned, or the times that he cried Eva moved her elbow and hit Eliza's fingers. "Hey!" she pulled back immediately. "Wait, you didn't drain anything," she grabbed Eliza's arm with no consequence. A look of terror spread on her face as she wondered if her own powers worked. She tried to get the familiar shifting feeling, but it did not come. "I'm stuck in human mode!" she wanted to shriek but it came out as a whisper. her hand reached up to her mouth in a nervous habit.

'Great. Just great. Pray that you should live to see tomorrow, huh? Well, you know what, stars? Thanks a lot.' His mental rant over, Conrad spoke, trying to overcome his panic. "Do the teachers know about this? I mean, it'll affect everything." 'And can we get our powers back?'

As she watched everyone's face become slightly panicked, Eliza felt... relieved. She could actually touch people? Most people take that for granted. Probably even the people she was sitting by. But she was also worried about that human mode issue. Not that she changed very often, it was just comforting that she could. Could.....
"They're probably the one's causing this power outage, for lack of a better term. And if not? They're probably enjoying the quiet." She said, quietly, pulling off her other glove and putting both in her pocket.

They painted up your secrets With the lies they told to youAnd the least they ever gave you Was the most you ever knew
Abby flipped through her crystals, searching each one for any energy at all. 'How could they all be empty?' she asked herself with worry. She stood up and abruptly exited when she realized her powers were out. Abby made her way to a courtyard where she propped herself under a tree and flipped through the crystals attempting to search each one but failing with the outage.
And I wonder where these dreams go When the world gets in your way What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway

Conrad's brows furrowed. "Can the teachers do that? Take away all of our powers? They would have done it sooner: taken our powers away, given them back during the appropriate classes, then taken them back... to ensure good behavior and all that." Conrad realized if they did do that, he would most likely never hear the stars again. The teachers didn't bother with his powers much, so they might forget to give them back to him. The thought scared him... "So how do we know if it's the teachers' faults?"

"I believe, and I'm probably wrong, but our only option is to assume the teachers are behind all of this." She sighed quietly. "And we have to figure out a way to reverse whatever is going on." As much as she didn't want to, Eliza knew that, for the students' sakes, they needed their powers back. "Until we figure this out, we're human. It might not be such a bad thing. To see how they survive without any mutabilities." Hello and goodbye to my moment of peace. I'm almost depressed it wont last.

Her feelings she hides, Her dreams she can't find She's losing her mind, She's fallen behind "Agreed. I don't feel right without being able to shift," Eva said after a brief pause. She could feel that her balance would be off. Everything would be off. She almost felt sick. "What's the worst case scenario if we don't get our powers back quickly?" she asked remembering Abby thunking her head on the table from exhaustion. She hoped it was not what she was think, and possibly beginning to feel. Then again, the best case scenario was that this was anxiety. Eva hoped desperately.

Conrad shrugged his shoulders. "How much do you want to bet that Mr. Rigger's behind it all?" he whispered hoarsely. The upside of no powers: telepathic people couldn't snitch on him for thinking rebellious thoughts. The downside: everything else, in his opinion. He knew Mr. Rigger was the ultimate student-hater. Being the weapons teacher, he also scorned magical abilities. This would be right up his alley.[[Uh... help?]]

"That's a possibility, but we have to keep the other teachers in mind, too." She said calmly. Rigger isn't the only airhead in this place... but who else could've?

"Perhaps the principal? He's been seeming very pleased lately. Either he finally got laid or he had a plan of some sort," Eva said, her vision getting very unfocused. "I don't like this," she said looking around at other kids who looked like they had not gotten sleep in a while.

"Who the hell would did him.... i mean seriously. That like... necrophilia on a whole new level." Eliza said with a hush tone. A sentence like that could get a student expelled, or worse at this point. Everything was up in the air, so to speak. It was weird not seeing any mildly levitating students.
She rubbed her forehead and blinked, a headache growing extremely obnoxious in a matter of moments. Her energy store was drained down to the bottom of the metaphoric barrel. And she couldn't borrow any ounce of energy from anyone. Okay, so maybe this human thing isn't the greatest. Damn... how do the manage with no gifts? The force pounding on her head made her vision pulse and quiver. This is gonna be a long day...
((Oh my goodness... i guess i came up with something after all.))

Conrad's normally alert and productive face was looking droopy and worn. I didn't stay up that late... he thought. Looking around, he saw everyone looking the same way. As he searched the room, his eyes fell on Eliza's hands. Something clicked. "Girls, whatever we're experiencing isn't just taking away our gifts," Conrad said as he stifled a yawn. "It's taking away our energy and our focus. Now don't take offense at this, but doesn't that sound suspiciously similar to a certain ability one of us has?" The biggest question really was, who else has that sort of power?

Her feelings she hides, Her dreams she can't find She's losing her mind, She's fallen behind "I hope you're not intending to suggest what I think you are," Eva rested her hands on her hips and gave Conrad a stare. "That other girl has a similar enough power. Besides, everyone looks drained, Eliza included," she reasoned. She sighed and put her head in her hands. "Today will not be a good day," she said unnecessarily. Eva had a habit of getting testy when she did not have powers, and after being in those cells, she knew she could get pretty bad.
