{Cue: Galaxy Heavy Blow} Kyle's face remained set, as if unfazed by the sudden change. Honestly, he didn't expect Joe to have the energy- he'd underestimated his opponent. The spear to the face had been meant as a final chance to surrender, not a challenge. And yet, Joe had managed to pull it off, and Kyle knew good and well what that meant- a mass increase in speed.
An increase he couldn't keep up with. His only hope was that his reflexes would kick in, especially with Ultima's aid. Only then could Kyle effectively survive the coming onslaught. Joe had already been low- dangerously so. This wasn't just some show of power. This was a last ditch effort. What little energy he had left was going to be put into this last round.
Kyle had the leftover energy, superhuman reflexes and far-superior magic strength. Joe had the remaining health, insane speed and strength to match. Kyle could just run and let Joe run out before hand, but there was nowhere Kyle could run that Joe couldn't catch up to with pathetic ease.
Kyle's only chance to win this was to eliminate Joe's outright speed. He had to force Joe into worrying about dodging, not running, not sprinting. That meant attacking head on... risking a loss.
It's a risk either way.
The Seraph's Knight and his weapon both moved simultaneously. The spear did a swift 360 'back flip' in the air, releasing a wave of Holy energy, but not in the usual 'wave'- rather, a line of high-powered Holy explosions erupted from its tip, going directly toward Joe and beyond- the Divine Ruination. If they struck, they had a chance of causing Confusion ([1 + {16 - 8} / 10] = 9 / 10).
At the same time, the armored paladin appeared in a flash of light behind Joe, attempting to elbow the fighter in the back and hoping both strikes would come together to finish the fight (though he doubted it severely). If not, then the line of explosions would just continue toward Kyle. The spear had not followed because he'd only ever been a few feet away.

...Feh.Joe was there, and then he was gone, the sand seeming to kick up with his 'departure', but not even in any definite direction. That'll hit him...can't let him heal like that. Gotta blast him. And it's now or never. And suddenly, Joseph's bare foot was in Kyle's face. Well, to the side of it. And in a drop kick. It all revolved around that one, single kick. If it hit, he'd follow it up with a backflip kick to launch the male into the air, and then deliver a series of drop kicks from different angles at such high speeds it'd seem like he was teleporting around.[Basic look of attack: Example] After that, he'd grip the dragoon's head between his ankles and feet, and spin and twist as the fell, before twisting up and landing on his feet with Kyle's head between them. Follow that with a twist, and a small tornado would form, bringing both spinning up into the air. Joe would then grab Kyle by the shoulders, and upon descent, flip him over and force him to crash onto his back.[Basic example here] Of course, that's if that first kick hit, and if he could actually have pulled it off and made many successful hits, he could've had a chance of winning. If not...? Well, then he'd fight to dodge the counterattacks and get in blows of his own. Either way, at the end of his assult, his energy would be drained, and he'd be left kneeling on the sand, panting and forced out of his drive for lack of energy. Did I...did I do it?

Kyle didn't expect Joe to be there. He'd hoped, he'd prayed, but never expected. And when his expectations proved true, he mentally cursed to himself. This was not the time to be making mistakes.
Kyle never saw the hit coming. Or, rather, if he had, he didn't have the time to dodge, even with his drive-boosted reflexes. That's when his reflexes attempted to kick in- but the backflip was, yet again a surprise. By this point, he had one hope- fleeing using the flash-step ability.
But where could he go? Every time he tried, Joe was already on him from a different angle, a different direction, hitting him with all he had. He couldn't flee, and try as he might, he couldn't make the gestures needed to cast a spell- he was too busy being knocked from side to side.
Kyle's break, however, came in the second half. Joe had grabbed Kyle by the head, between the fighter's two feet. His hands? His hands were free. Despite the pain, as Kyle was raised off the ground in a tornado of fury, Kyle forced his hands onto his chest and, in a last-ditch effort, cast Curaga on himself. The gift of Driving with Ultima had been the ultimate boost of magic- when once, Cura had been his limit, Curaga was now the height. And it was a good thing- the finale of this assault would have finished him permanently otherwise.
Kyle lay on his back for a moment, listening to the sounds around him. The natural sea breeze, the waves crashing against the ocean... Joe's panting..:Are you sure...? You still have quite a bit of time left-:.Time that would be wasted one on one.
{Cue: King for a Day}
Kyle's body vanished in a flash of light, leaving nothing but a faint dust behind- hardly enough for even Joe to worry about. Suddenly, at least a dozen meters away, there was a strange sheathing noise, as if something had just been thrown in the sand. To the side of Joe, he would have seen a strange, glowing copy of Kyle's swallow-spear, made solely of magic energy.
Before he might have analyzed it, one spear turned into a flurry of raining spears, each about the same distance apart and away from Joe. With each spear, the ground began to glow gold; the light made a giant circular glyph across the sand, partway into the water (they stuck into the surface, as though it were solid), a little into the fields, with Joe near the center.
Within moments, the light grew more spectacular, the glyph grew more ornate, and the atmosphere became more dense, as if there was some magic weight pressing down on Joe. There were now twelve spears on the edges of the glyph, which shined blindingly-bright, releasing a light, almost angelic humming.
Then there was another sheathing sound- in the center, where Kyle's body had been, stood his spear. On top of its tip stood Kyle, glowing brightly but now in his normal clothing- one would think he'd ended the drive, but the indigo eyes revealed otherwise; he was just going out with a bang. On the moment of his landing, each of the twelve spears surrounding him flashed, transforming into different colored crystals- one representing each sign of the zodiac, a beam of light erupting from their sides and connecting them, forming a barrier.
Kyle held his arms up in the air, reaching for something-"Eschaton!" "Eschaton!" Above, in front of the sun, was the form of Ultima, who immediately launched a charged Holy beam from her palms down to Kyle. It was thin enough to only encompass the mage; the moment it struck, his arms flew out to his sides, as if to embrace the air, and from his spear, 12 beams of light erupted, striking the crystals.
The glyph underneath shattered, and the entire arena erupted in a massive beam of Holy Light.
When the light finally faded and the world came back into view, the arena seemed undamaged despite the explosion. Kyle remained standing on his spear, arms hanging limply by his sides as he, himself, seemed to be breathing shallowly. It wasn't quite loud enough to be considered panting, but he was obviously drained. Even his eyes had reverted back to their normal hazel-brown, and the aura around him was gone.[[Loooots of words, but the actual counter (from the time Kyle vanished to the time the glyph exploded) all happens in a span of... 12 seconds? 15 at the VERY most, really, since he's literally Flash-Stepping in the sky to toss each spear downward.]]

((Jdfg;kadjb;jfdgjvk;bndfjklh; BLARGLEFLARGLE...but it figures. So close, and yet so far.)) Light...that was all Joe could see, and it was blinding and it blasted him, both from the intensity of the light and the intensity of the the pain. It wasn't like Joe could've ran. There was no where to run to...and that he was already exhausted from his forced drive and attack. [Cue Music: Emotion] As Joe lay there in the sand, eyes slightly unfocused as they tried to adjust to the much dimmer sun, his hand gripped the sand, knuckles white at the tightness of the grip. So...damn...close...The male's body started to twitch, but it was cause the male was chuckling. "You know, for a second, there...I thought I actually might've had a chance, sixteen turrets aside." Taking a deep breath, the male rolled onto his back, an arm flung over his eyes as that sea breeze seemed to blanket him, caressing his body as he layed on the sand. "Fun fun...disappointing, but fun...I think it's time for me to relax, though, don't you?"

So close...
Kyle listened to Joe's words, but kept his stance upon the spear. His eyelids seemed heavy, and his breathing, over time, seemed to grow heavier.
So close to defeat...
His lips attempted to curl into a smile, but faltered. The adrenaline had left him... and with it, the pain. Oh, holy mother of God, the pain. Joe must have hit every muscle, possibly more than once. And he'd had a set of flukes that lead to this... had one thing changed, had one thing differed...
"Mmm... hold that thought."
Kyle immediately fell backward off his spear, landing flat on his back with a horribly pained grunt. The spear vanished moments later.
"Just... lucky."
[[And now, to roll.]]

((Timmy and I have decided out arena, it will be described in this post.)) Attack Strength: 12 [5] Attack Speed: 14 (13+1) [8] Magic Strength: 9 [3] Magic Defense: 4 [2] Guard Strength: 9 [6] Evasive Reflexes: 10 [6] Outright Speed: 13 [7] Constitutional Endurance: 10 [4] Energy: 10 [4] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kichi stood atop a large rock formation. One of many in the area. It was a large rock field, most of the rocks were rounded, or at least not sharp, but there were lots of places to lose your footing or get a limb caught in a small gap. There were a few tiny trees, growing out of some of the gaps in the rock formations. "Hmmm...a rather desolate place for a battle...Let's see who my opponent is." He muttered to himself quietly, waiting for whoever he was going to fight to make their entrance, completely unknowing it would be his old friend, Timmy. As he waited, he surveyed the landscape, noting all the rock formations, which ones were closes to each other, and which ones wereeasiest to get to the top of, etcetera.

A Dark Corridor opened up above a rock formation on the other side of the field, and then a boy appeared walking out of it. He looked around the battlefield for a quick analysis until he saw his foe. The boy had a huge grin on his face as he saw that it was his one of his friends.
"Long time no see Mister Kichi!" he yelled across to Kichi. "This seems like it is going to be one hell of a reunion! Now let's not dawdle around too much and get straight to the point!" Timmy acted hastily as he threw down a thunder spell missing his opponent on purpose.

"T-Timmy?! But I don't wan-" ZAP. The sound of a bolt of lightning missing him cut him off.
Kichi sighed. He closed his eyes, inhaled, exhaled, and opened them again. "Very well. Let's get started..." He said, and dropped into a fighting stance...then crouched further....and Dragon Leapt Towards old friend, accelerating to an incredible speed, almost instantly. He Quickly transitioned into a Jet-Glide, flying at top speed. Just as he was about to fly overhead, he pulled back his Tonfa, and then Flare thrusted it downward with a loud bang, attempting to slam down directly on top of Timmy, careful to take note of which direction Timmy would dodge in.
