Shiro aburame
♠ Shiro shrugged and looked around. He could see the land! They were almost there! He looked at the skies again and saw that it had gone completely dark. The water beneath them was looking dark and menacing in itself, and getting rougher by the minute. He said "Getting worse... we'd better hurry."

Tetsu shook her head at Shiro. "DOn't worry about it kid! We're almost... THERE!" she said and quickly pulled the rope on the sal, turning it a full 180 degrees makeing the boat start to change direction right as it came up to dock, so it stopped perfectly in the spot in between two already docked boats. "HA HA! And who says I can't sail?!" she said proudly as she jumped out of the boat and put her hands on her hips as she looked around. "Now, let's get back to the mist." she announced proudly as she started marching off. ((post in Land of Water's forests))

Skipping the port town, Dev had arranged for their vessel to meet elswhere than any dock. He ran across the sea at the same speeds. With nothing but open water for him to manuver around, it cut travel time down even more than when in the forest. Thirteen, maybe fourteen minutes later Dev found their boat waiting for him. It was only few miles off from the tip of the peninsula that was the Land of Tea. Slowing down and cutting off the lightning chakra, Devonte ran to the boat and lept in. The one steering was relatively old man, but obviously younger than Dev. He worked in one of the port towns and often transported ninja from Mist to the mainland. And every year, he took the Mizukage across the seas to the chunin exams. Once Devonte was in, the man nodded and started off, heading for the Land of Wind. In the meantime, Devonte slumped down, taking his seat and extended his left hand. His palm had an ornate 'S' on it and as he put his chakra into the seal, it glowed a dark blue.

Disobey me...... Being summoned to the boat, Suijin arrived clasping Jin's shoulder in her left hand and Devonte's left hand with her right. They were on the usual boat they took for the exams. Wearing that signature, monstrous grin of her's, she said, "Well you sure took your damn sweet time!""Oh, my appologies Lady Mizukage! Lightning c'n only travel so fast!" Dev spoke in a mock-appologetic voice, clearly meant to tease Suijin. The Mizukage just rolled her eyes, pulled her hand from Devonte's and smacked him over that head. Not hard, just the kind of hit thrown between comrades. With him laughing it off, she sat down on the seat facing him. "So then, how much farther is it?" she asked. "We should be at tha Land a' Wind's shore momentarily." he sighed. Of course, that meant traveling through the desert, which he never enjoyed. "You wanna 'jump' again, er ar' ya fine walkin'?" he asked her. "What, you think I can't handle it?" she growled. The glare in her eyes was terrifying. Dev really hadn't meant it like that, he'd actually meant to tease her by saying she was lazy, always making him do all the traveling work for her. But since ageing, she had grown more and more 'sensitive' to any insinuations that she was too old to do something. Backing off defensively, he sweatdropped and nervously stammerd, "I-I- well, I didn' mean it like 'at! I'm sure ya c'n 'andle it jus' fine!""THEN WE'RE WALKING!" she concluded the discussion with barking her command. And there was no arguing with her after that, not even Dev dared. A Woman out for Blood......at your peril.

Jin stood quietly, trying to figure out what just happened. The hairs on his body stood on end. That was amazing! Jin's grin quickly faded when he heard Dev speak. When Suijin shrugged it off he relaxed, but the tension quickly took him as she became serious. He turned his attention to their surroundings, trying to look for anything out of the ordinary. He was on gaurd duty after all, and he didn't have the pleasure of carrying a conversation while he did so. In reality: he was hesitant to say anything at all. Suijin was like the ocean itself, calm and playful one moment and then a torrent of fierce force the next. It would be a while before he could stand on that kind of water. And it wasn't really his place to talk anyway, he was just a genin tagging along. Although that did make him curious as to why she brought him. He shook his head clear and turned back to the scenery. That was one of those thoughts that went off on a tangent and took away from his focus.

Disobey me...... It didn't take long for their boat to make it. They were going at fairly high speeds. The desert coast was in sight in only an hour or so. Jin seemed to prefer remaining silent. That was fine with the Mizukage either way. Crossing her arms and sitting with perfect posture she stared Devonte directly in the eyes. "Dev, you make a run for the arena." she commanded. With a playful sneer, Dev said, "I thought you wanted to walk?"Completely disregarding his comment, she stood and slammed her foot down on the wooden bench, inches from his leg. barked, "NO WASTING TIME! BECAUSE OF YOU SLACKING OFF, THERE'S A CHANCE WE COULD BE LATE!" One thing she absolutely hated was being late. Even as a child, she was always exactly on time for everything or she was there sooner. If she was given a time-limit for a mission, she always finished early. She had a near-perfect record of punctuality and she despised every bad mark on that record. "YES MA'AM!" Devonte responded, no longer joking. He could be very serious when he wanted, and when he was, his full attention was on his job. Whatever the command may be. The coastline was in sight. He used the same jutsu as before and lept from the boat, leaving the Mizukage under Jin's care. He darted across the waters towards the land covered in scalding sands. Suijin and Jin still had another few minutes left in their boat ride. Just enough time for Dev to make to the arena. "We'll make it real soon, kiddo." she said casually as she pulled out a bottle of sake and had a drink. She let herself completely relax and enjoy the boatride. Suijin loved the sea breeze about as much as she did her alcohol. The ocean was like a second home to her. A palce where she could have a nice break from the hellish life a shinobi, the hectic life of a Mizukage. A place she could just feel at peace. And she sure looked it. A Woman out for Blood......at your peril.

Jin laughed and took a seat next to Suijin. "I have to admit, I like the old man. If only he was as playful with us as he is with you, Lady Mizukage." Jin grined and slid his arm around Suijin's. Although he didn't pay much attention to it, he locked the arm the way lovers would, and rested against her. It was more out of habbit than anything. Truth be told, he didn't want to be left behind if she jumped off again, and he figured he would take the few minutes to let the tension out of his body. His ribs were still sore from his mistake earlier. He closed his eyes for a moment longer than he should have as he felt a particularly soothing breeze pass over them.

Disobey me...... Suijin gave a light chuckle. "Don't worry. I'm sure he'll find all kinds of ways to make fun of you guys soon enough." she laughed in an unnervingly reassuring way. She didn't care if he was touching her. She doubted he'd ever turn on her, but if he did it wasn't like she couldn't take him down. "But, we've been friends for the better part of fifty years. So don't even try to pull she s**t he gets away with, with me." she sopke with a monstrous grin and a cruel gleam in her eyes. It was then that she felt Dev's chakra calling out to her once again. She grabbed onto the back of Jin's shirt and pulled him to his feet as she herself stood up. In the process, she had to shove Jin's arm off. Devonte would most likely have gone straight to the Kage booth. It wouldn't be proper for a Kage to be seen being held so causally by a subordinate, especially not one so young. She just clapped her hand over his shoulders and held out her right hand out as if she were holding someone else's hand. "Daiki-san, thanks for the ride! We'll be back when the match is over!""I'll be at that port, Lady Mizukage." the boatman promised. Suijin gave him a nod, then sent out her chakra to Devonte through the seal in her hand. And she and Jin disappeared the same way as last time, just as their boat made it to the docks. A Woman out for Blood......at your peril.

‘Ah the sea is there anything more beautiful?’ Kiyoshi stood at shore watching the waves kick up and the sun light glisten of the gorgeous water. Maybe it was because he was a Mist Shinobi but he felt at home in the water; at the same time he was not stupid. He looked around for a boat or someone to give him a ride across he was not about o cross it by himself all that would do was tire him out he still had to make through a desert. Finding a group of anglers, he walked over hoping to convince one to give him a ride or at least a boat.

Jin gave her a grin, but didn’t comment. He doubted the man was an idiot. He was the Kazekage after all. But it’d be a fancy day in hell before he would contradict her. As a genin, anyway. When he found himself on the boat suddenly, he touched down and rocked a bit before he stabilized himself. It was kind of hard to come out of that so smoothly when they moved so abruptly.
He scratched the back of his head and shrugged his shoulders. He just couldn’t get past their little murderous game. But during this whole trip, Jin’s respect for Dev definitely grew. The man took some punishment and still kept kicking. Her glare alone made him flinch, and the assassin had been trained not to move at the most threatening of attacks. Yet here his teacher just shrugged it off and asked for more.
Jin stood at the stern of the boat. You only sat when you were sure you didn’t need to make moves. The mission might seem over, but the genin wouldn’t relax until she was back in the village an no longer his responsibility. Not that he didn’t like watching her and Dev go at it, but he wanted to just get a hold of a good drink and maybe hit the trumpet. “Sensei, I expected better from you..” He looked back and flashed his teeth at the old man in a wild grin as the wind whipped around his hair. “The job ain’t well done till we break out the drinks!”

‘UGH! This is so refreshing!’ that was the only thought Kiyoshi could muster as he pulled his head up from the water. The heat was intense, his skin had darkened and he was soaked in sweat. In retrospect sprinting through a desert hadn’t been the best of ideas. Not wanting to spend any more time in this horrible place Kiyoshi looked for a ship that had already sailed so he could just ‘stow away’ spotting his target he jumped onto the water and sprinted to it reaching into this bag he took out some wire and tied it to his kunai and launched at the boats hull. ‘'Gotcha.'' the kunai stuck and Kiyoshi held on for the ride. This was the most fun he had in the entire trip and his vibrant smile backed that up. He enjoyed every moment of this and from the shore it would be quite a site a young boy skiing behind a boat.

At the risk of disturbing Suijin, Devonte burst out laughing. "KAHAHA! Gatta agree with ya 'ere!"Suijin had been woken at the mention of drinks... and Dev's louder than the screams of hell voice. But Devonte being annoying aside, underneath her hat she was smirking. "Heh heh heh.... I knew there was a reason I liked this guy." she chuckled to herself. Sitting up and tilting her hat back upright, she pulled out two bottles of sake and tossed them to her escorts, then pulled out another for herself. Exactly how many bottles of sake did she even have hidden in that coat??? Devonte caught the bottle and pulled off it's cover in his teeth before spitting it out on the deck. "What 'appened ta 'at nap a yer's?" he said with a snide grin. "I'll nap when I pass out, drunk!" she spat back, still smirking. Devonte's grin widened, stretching as far as was possible. "Now 'at's tha Suijin I love!" Suijin, putting the bottle to her lips, had half of the alcohol down her throat before Dev had even swallowed a mouthful of his.

Jin caught the bottle in a firm grip. He popped it and made a toasting motion before taking a gulp of the stuff. His throat was instantly on fire, but he just pushed it down and let out a sigh of appreciation. Of course if Suijin carried it around it must be strong. He quickly put the stopper back in and latched it onto his belt. He had various holders for flasks and things of the like, but ever since that fateful day two years ago where they took away everything, most of them were empty. Whenever he tried to gather more ingredients from the forest, they would never make it past the gate. No matter how creative he got…
“Well if you two plan on drinking till you drop, I think I’ll just wait until we get back to the village before I tackle this stuff.” He tasted the unique after taste and grinned. “’Sides, I’m not on either of your levels when it comes to knocking them back.”He turned to face the approaching shore with an amused look on his face. He normally kept his distance from people, but being around company who were professional killers and what he thought would make for great drinking buddies, he finally didn’t need the chaos of the slums to relax. It was a good feeling.

As the boat slowed Kiyoshi knew his ride and fun were coming to an end, giving the line a stern pull he dislodged the kunai from the hull. Releasing his chakra the genin flopped into the water welcoming the coolness. He could not wait to get back to the mist and away from the blistering heat. Opening his eyes he started the short swim to shore. He still he to trek through the woods which didn’t sound bad at all compared to the desert, he had never tanned this much in his life, and it would be a cold day in hell before he would willingly return there.

Disobey me...... "HAH! You're damn right about that boy!" Suijin cackled, raising her bottle and chugging down the rest. Oh sure, her throat was practically on fire but did that matter to her? The answer is no. Not to that crazy old broad. (Just don't call her that! She will KILL you!) When she realised it was empty, she discarded it and whipped out another. Although she was drinking a lot and all ready had a ton in her system, it'd probably still be a while yet before she really got drunk. How was that possible you ask? How? Honestly, I have no idea. Devonte laughed and said to Jin, "Thirty-sum'in' years ago, Suijin gat challenged to a drink-off with tha Kusakege an' tha last Kazekage's wife! Kick 'ere asses, right before she led tha entire village into war, no less!" He was laughing hard by the time he'd gotten to the end of his tale. The old man was reminescing all ready. Many of those who had bared witness to the legendary event in Keizo's Bar had died in the next day's battle. Those that survived spread the tale to friends. Today, the story was mostly just rumor, speculation, though very few doubted it was false, taking into account her drinking habits. Though, there were only very few who scorned her for it, none of them of any major power to the village save for those in the Kurosawa clan. The battle had been won with the Eastern Front which had been led by Suijin reduced to a crater and standing as one of the two historical landmarks left in Snow by that battle. Though the battle was originally believed would have devestating casualties on Mist's part, remarkably less than half died thanks to Suijin's expert tactics. It was something anyone could find in Mist's history books, and of course something that was taught in the academy. Ahhh.... them good ol' days. She, Dev, Shouta, everyone was so much younger back then. But they hadn't changed much. The only real difference was that two of the five of them had all ready moved on to the next world. Even the thought of death made Devonte smile. It may have been the effects of the sake, but most likely not. He just pulled himself out of his fantasies of the past and his attention back on Jin. "If yer gonna wait till we get back, ya might as well come wi' me ta Keizo's. 'S'all on me!" he offered. The docks were close. Only a mile or so away. Suijin and Dev got to their feet, neither even a bit off balance despite the fact they had both finished the bottles in their hands. A Woman out for Blood......at your peril.
