Raiden blinked at his sister's sudden appearance before nodding. Good. Looking around he realized that they would have to move fast. Even though a good amount of the bandits were either down or distracted there were still others. Letting the others go on ahead of him the teen winced as one of his back legs nearly gave on the stairs. Damn. That one bandit must have kicked him harder than he thought.
Realization hit. He couldn't run as fast now. Biting his lip Raiden noted several chests at the top of the stairs. Seeing bandits trying to come their way the teen took a deep breath and rammed himself at the stack. With a grunt he managed to topple over several and laughed as the chests fell down the stairs and blocked the way. Then there was sun. Beautiful sunlight. With a small smile the centaur stared at the sky before looking around at the group. "Everyone alive?" He commented with bitter humor.

When she felt that it was safe to stop, Khalidah turned around to look at the others with wide eyes. She clutched her hand to her heaving chest, hooves anxiously making furrows in the dirt. On habit, she reached over and punched Raiden in the arm with her good hand. "Idiot! What were you thinking, following me?" Even though her voice was a stern anger, she embraced her brother, happy for the first time in her life to smell his scent. "I'm so happy your okay."
She stayed like that for a while, just holding him, before peeping her head around to look at Aaron. She was just as happy to see him there as well, but Tzeitel... "Is she...is she going to be alright?" She asked anxiously. What if because of her, Tzeitel was going to...

Only vaguely listening to the teens, Aaron gently settled Tzeitel to the ground to check on her. The cut on her temple was only bleeding lightly, which was a good sign. She was still unconscious though. Sighing, he started searching through his bag for something to clean with while considering the day's adventure. The so-called "quest" had apparently not been a total waste. Admittedly, if Khali hadn't started the journey, Raiden probably wouldn't have been in the position of getting caught. Khali would have gone with or without their aid though, which means Raiden would have still come out alone, and perhaps they both... As his adrenaline started to drop, his hands shook slightly as he dabbed at Tzeitel's wound and wrapped a clean cloth around her head. He answered the teens slowly, thinking about their different tones of questions. "She'll be fine. She'll be sore and bruised, but I think it was more the shock of the hit than anything else." He stood up and walked a few steps toward the teens, his own little injuries forgotten and un-noticed. Dang it. Why did Tzei have to be the one knocked out? He didn't feel any more comfortable alone with the teens than he would have before. He stopped a couple steps from the two, looking back the way they had come, then back to them. "You two okay?"

"What?!" Raiden let out a snort of disbelief at his sister before embracing her. "Same here little sis. Same here." He whispered before brushing a brother's tender kiss across the top of her head. Blinking he looked over at Aaron, because he too was wondering the same thing. Was she really going to be okay?
"That-That's good." Raiden replied softly as he looked at Tzeitel. His sudden worry about the female was odd, though the teen pushed the nagging thoughts aside to nod to the male. "Yeah. I think we're okay." He paused and looked at his sister, "Though is your hand still hurting?" Maybe they should go look for a healer? His tail flicked thoughtfully. After all the brawls his family got into, he should be decent with bandages by now. But did they even have that type of supplies?

After slowly breaking away from her brother, Khalidah closed in on Aaron, her good hand still clasped tightly with her brother's. All things considered, it could have turned out much worse and to have made it out alive was just another step down their journey to success...right? Khali wasn't as sure as before, but her ego was slowly, but surely, rebuilding itself.
Seeing Aaron's shaking hands, she bit her lip and cast a worried look his way. "What about you?" Though he may not have noticed his injuries, Khali did. After a slight hesitation, she slowly broke away from her brother and put her good hand on his shoulder. She angled her head back to look at his face. "And don't lie."
The teenager's long equine ears perked up as she subconsciously coddled her injured hand to her chest. "A little," she pouted. "I think a bone's broken. We should go find a healer, for everyone's sake."

He watched the teens with interest. Not long ago they were at each other's throats, and now they were clinging together. Is this what being a sibling meant? Switching between focus on Raiden's mention of an injured hand and Khali's question, he felt color rising to his face again. How was he? He didn't have time to think about himself! "Well... I feel fine. Sore I suppose." With the adrenaline dying down, he really wasn't feeling much of himself other than a general achiness. The mention of the possible broken bone, he gladly changed his focus, reaching a hand up to gently brush Khali's smaller one. "Broken?" Frowning, he quickly turned from the teens, letting Khali's hand fall from his shoulder as he headed for their packs. "I don't know if we have enough for broken limbs, but we should be able to stabalize it until we reach a healer or town." Rifling through his own pack, he hung his head slightly, turning to look at the teens again. "Maybe we should sleep this off first. Find a protective spot and... just rest."

"Great." Raiden sighed before running a hand through his hair, "There should be one somewhere around here...right?" He blinked innocently, "Truthfully I don't know much beyound the city walls." Except maybe the desert but that was no where near this forest.
"Rest?" His hooves dug into the ground nervously, "As long as it's somewhere 'protective' like you suggested." His gaze went to Tzeitel, "I can help you to carry her until she wakes up." He looked over to Khali, "Does that sound like a plan to you, Khali?" He asked quietly. No matter what they decided to do, he wanted her hand to be looked at soon. Like Aaron said they should be able to stabilize it until they reached help.

"Then your hurt too." Khali concluded with a nod. "And I do have medicine for soreness." When he brushed her her hand, she looked up at him with a little shrug.
She'd been calm enough, content as it was in Aaron's company until he mentioned rest. Nervous eyes flickered to Raiden, then back to Aaron. These were her men. Men waiting for her orders and she couldn't disappoint them like last time. "Sounds like a plan. We'll settle down, then treat our wounds before bed, and in the morning we'll set out for a healer."
The teen walked over to Aaron and snatched up his back with her good hand. "Don't say anything. If your carrying her, I'm carrying this. Raiden, you too, toss it over."

Aaron looked at Raiden, sizing him up before nodding. "Hopefully she won't be out too long... I won't turn your offer down though. Thanks." As if on cue, Tzeitel murmured softly, shifting a little and falling silent again. Aaron touched her shoulder. "Looks like she's up enough to walk between us, but she won't be much help." Looking up at Khali grabbing his pack, he suddenly laughed. Perhaps from the dropping adrenaline or actual humor, he wasn't sure. The kids both seemed to be made of spunk, that was sure. To go through what they had and still be calm and fairly collected... Maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all. "Fine. Until we find a safe spot to rest up." Still chuckling, he pulled Tzeitel to her hooves, pulling her close and gesturing for Raiden. "Alright Khali. Watch your wrist while we go. We can use what I tore for Tzeitel's head to wrap it later. Now, lead the way."

Raiden's ears flicked back as he stared down his sister. "But your hand..." Sighing he carefully handed her his bag. No point in arguing when they should be finding someplace to rest. Though he really would have prefered to carry it himself.
"Got ya." Raiden nodded to Aaron before pulling close to Tzeitel and supporting her by wrapping an arm around her waist. The teen flushed lightly before shaking his head. He was just supporting her. That was all. Just supporting. "Lead the way, great leader." He looked at his sister with a light smile on his face. No telling where they were going now. He closed his eyes for a second before looking stubbornly forward. There was no going back now.

It didn't matter what had caused it, but Aaron's laugh brought forth happiness in Khali. Her smile brightened by leaps and bounds, and her heart raced. "Until then." Even if one of her partners was only slightly conscious it looked like she had banded up with the right kind of crowd.
She shook her head at Raiden. "It's okay, I'm fine. I'm made of stronger stuff than that." The teenager would have made a pose, t'were it not for their packs. Instead, she started walking. Her path wound up on a used road that she wasn't planning on veering away from ever again.
As what daylight was left faded into night the teenager found herself dragging. Her enthusiasm was dead. Khali huffed and moaned, her head hanging as low as her waist while she slumped on ahead. When one of the packs fell to the ground, she growled. "Can we stop here? I'm really tired."

As the stars started filling the sky, Aaron found his head bobbing slightly. If Khali hadn't asked to stop then, he would have. "This should be fine for now." He said, shaking his head to clear it. He steered toward the treeline to set Tzeitel down. "Thanks for the help, Raiden. Okay Khali, time to get your wrist set." Stifling a yawn, he trotted to his pack and pulled out the torn cloth. Then he found a couple sticks to use as a brace.
Feeling the soft grass and smelling the fresh dirt made her eyes slowly bat open. So, she was alive? She groaned softly, a gentle ache making her head throb. Where had they taken her? She was still with the bandits, wasn't she? They had taken her, hadn't they? To punish her for being so stupid. She sighed again, wondering about her fate, when she recognized voices. Was it...? Slowly, to keep the stars from her vision, she turned her head to look.

"Alright." The teen just shrugged at his sister before moving on. As long as she had enough energy to argue, then he could trust her to be fine...at least for the time being. He laughed at her plea before nodding his agreement. It was late and the boy's body was beginning to remember every little kick from their bandit encounter.
"You're welcome, Aaron." He frowned before gently moving back Tzeitel's bangs. "I just hope she feels better soon." Stretching he listened as his spine popped several times. "Ah, that's better." He whispered with a faint smile. His gaze went back to his sister and Raiden decided to leave Khali's wrist to the adult.
After all there was another injured one in their party. Reaching in his pack Raiden pulled out a flask of water and went over to Tzeitel. Would she wake up soon? Innocently he touched her cheek again and pulled back quickly as he realized something. "You finally awake, sleeping beauty?" Asked the teen softly as he looked down at her.

As soon as Aaron gave the go ahead, every bag Khali was carrying dropped to the ground, only with her. "My what?" The teenager yawned and looked down at her wrist with an apathetic snarl. "Oh, right." She got back up and dragged the bags to the tree line before sitting back down again. She hadn't even noticed Tzeitel.
Looking at the adult, Khali had an urge to say something profound and inspiring. Something so awe inspiring that the entire evening would be forgo- "You have beautiful eyes." The teenager blurted.

Aaron crouched down, taking Khali's arm and placing the sticks to support the wrist. Tired, he only smiled and nodded when Khali spoke up. "Ah, thanks. I-" Wait. What was that? His gaze flicked from the partially wrapped arm to her face, and quickly back down again as he felt his own face warm slightly. "Ah... thanks." He repeated, impressing his focus on wrapping her wrist up with very deliberate movements. They'd had a long day. She was probably just more tired than he was. That's all. Still... He couldn't help but be pleased by the compliment.
She almost couldn't believe it. There was Raiden, and there was Aaron, and there was Khali! All alive, with a canopy of leaves and stars overhead instead of bars. So... no bandits? She looked up at Raiden and managed to give him a weak half-smile. "Unless this is a dream..." She shifted for a more comfortable position, relieved that the world had stopped spinning. Glancing again at Aaron and Khali, confirming their safety, she turned to Raiden. Her ears flipped back and down as her memory tried to kick back into gear, her last memory being next to the teen in the pit. "What happened, Raiden? How did-?" She put a hand to her head, feeling the make-shift bandage.
