((sorry for disappearing last night guys. My internet did eventually die at around 1:15 EST. But here's my next post before I have to leave for work. I'll be back form work around 10pm EST.))
Does he not think that I can take care of myself? Sydney thought as Noktal gave her some form of protection against any demon that might take her presence as a chance to prove themselves. "YOU have a sense of humanity? Don't make me laugh..." Sydney remarked with a bitter tone of sarcasm oozing from her tone. She had heard what Noktal and Grathrym were talking about and she didn't take what they said as having any sort of truth to it. "If you had any sense of humanity, you'd hate yourself for killing so many people, including people that meant something to someone else."

Upon arriving in the courtyard vicinity, Bagarth headed toward the portal where the meeting would be occurring. She stepped through lightly with yet another smile. Apparently, Bagarth smiled and grinned much.
"Greetings, fellow compatriots!" she said with a cheerful tone laced with a small hint of sarcasm. There were four others in the room: Grath, Noktal, a Cambion, and a Greater Demon.
"And what have we here?" Bagarth asked, approaching Sydney and looking her over. The Cambion must have been the new initiate and the owner of the scream from earlier.

Noktal was genuiley shocked by Sydney's outburst. Looking at her with surprise on his face, he stood up. "You think I don't wonder if what I did was correct? What I did was the best way to wake everyone up to the plans going on around them. You think I haven't lost people? I've lost three wives. I've buried my own children. You can be the most heartless demon and you will still feel the pain of a father watching his son die as he tries to prove himself. Can you know the pain of watching a woman whom you have laid with, with whom you have given your life to, age and wither before you? Before you judge, child, learn. You see us as heartless fiends. That is what you were taught by the angels. And wouldn't you know. The angels have killed more humans and cambions and nephilims than we have. We've spent our time focusing on the Angel threat." Noktal was waving his hands for added emphasis. His eyes were partially open and the irritation and anger was evident in his voice. Sighing, he slumped back into his chair. "Greeting Bagarth. I apologize for you having to walk in on me while I'm not my best. Maybe I've wasted my time. Anyways, that is Sydney, our newest addition. Her magic may intrigue you. I know it does me." Shaking his head, he pulled a small smile back on. Better than nothing.

Noktal's initial "reply" to her greeting, the narrative directed toward Sydney, was drab but reasonable. Bagarth guessed that the newcomer had said something about demons, lack of "human" emotions, and death.
Bagarth looked back at Noktal with a playful look in her eyes. Well, you never know, she thought, leaving the thought unspoken in front of the newcomer. She started to pace around Sydney.

((Yeah. Soory about that. ^^;; Indrid's been a little preoccupied and hasn't been able to put it up yet. Said it'd be up Friday. But it hasn't. So idk what's going on.))
Haitian scowled at Noktal's remark about his own 'baptism'. "Yelping is different from screaming." He merely remarked. He knew talking back to a Devil when he was only a Greater demon was a mistake. But Noktal had set his sights on him as a target from day one. Their personalities just didn't seem to agree with one another.
When the claws gripped Haitian, he could have easily phased through them. But that wouldn't have done much good. So, he stayed within their grasp. Once he was let down, he let out a small, "Yes, Lord Noktal." With that he retreated to a narrow passageway and stood in the shadows, scowling. He noticed Noktal smiling towards Bagarth and he grimaced. He'd know Noktal had a thing for her for quite sometime. He shuddered at the thought. Nasty enough I have to deal with him. He thought. He knew of the Devil lords being able to read minds, but for some reason none of them could read his. He was somehow immune. He thanked his lucky stars for that. The thought of him and Bagarth makes me ill. He folded his arms again. His signature move to mark his disgruntled mood. Regardless, that old fool has run his course. Soon, I'll be on the Council. And that old braggart will have nothing to do to stop me. None of them will. A scene shall play where they are the puppets and I, the puppet master. And soon, they shall call me Lord. Whether they like it, or not. Haitian's mood lightened and he smirked a devilish smirk. Soon...I will have my seat, rightfully next to Lord Grathrym, as his right hand Devil. As I so rightfully deserve.

((What is with page 10 declaring that it doesn't exist?))
Truth be told. Sydney almost reminded Bagarth of one of her "children." When Sydney refused her hand, Bagarth simply let it stand for a moment and then withdrew it. You'll understand in a while, she thought. Before she could comment, Haitian made his move.
Who gave the Greater Demon permission to directly play with Sydney? Even if he was a good warrior, he was still out ranked by everyone else in the room. In addition, he always seemed arrogant and out to prove that he was better than the rest of them. Unlike Noktal, Bagarth's irritation did not show. She merely looked at Haitain with a shake of her head and an innocent smile.
With a sigh, Bagarth headed over to Noktal's side, accepting his offer. "Let's all take a seat and calm down, shall we?" She said and proceeded to sit down, with one leg over the other. She was playing peacemaker again, and it wasn't the first time either. With any luck, Halgron would arrive soon, and they could just get started with the meeting.

Namine of the Lethe ((I get this eerie feeling Noktal isn't going to like your character Twai. Indeed, I get a very very strong feeling he isn't. And I can't bloody find your char profile either. It'd give me a little more to work with if I could.))
Noktal grew extremely irritated at Haitian's attitude. "Haitian, I will not warn you a second time. You lay a hand on her again, and I'll deal with you personally. Sydney is an ally blessed personally by High Lord Grathrym. It is enough I tolerate you here on occasion. Sydney has proven her worth more than you have. If I recall, you screamed like a human babe when bathed in Lord Grathrym's 'baptism.'" Hatred was evident on his voice, and he had both eyes open, bloodlust focused solely on the demon. Unlike before, when his desire for death was hot like fire, this one was as cold as the grave. "And another little bit." Raising his hand, claws burst from the walls around him, pinning him tightly to the column, one curving at his neck. "Without permission from a Devil Lord, you are not permitted to summon a weapon in any of our private chambers. Forget it again, and you will learn what pain really is." Growing weary of playing with him, he dropped his hand and the talons disappeared. Looking at Bagarth, an image of her naked sprung into his mind unexpectedly. Shaking it out, he smiled again. That was not expected. Still, I did somewhat invoke her recent behavior. Giving her a sultry smile, he leaned his head slightly towards the chair beside him.
----------------- Twai-Lyte Haitian chuckled and phased through the blade and Sydney. His chuckle echoing around Sydney. "On the contrary..." His voice echoed eerily. Almost submerging her in the sound. He was behind her with his hand held out. In a matter of seconds, Hellion, his 7 foot long scythe materialized in his hand, it's blade curving around Sydney's neck. His cheek gently grazed against Sydney's as he whispered the rest of his remark in her ear. "...You threaten me again, and there won't be any of you left to salvage for even a carrion's feast." He pushed the blade a little harder on her neck, drawing blood. "You don't belong here, Cambion. And your use here will run out quick. So, I suggest you stay out of my way. As far as I'm concerned, you've already outlived your purpose. Hell, you shouldn't have made it this far." He withdrew his blade and Hellion disappeared. "So, I suggest you make your business here quick and prove your worth to us. Or I'll see to it, I'll have the personal pleasure of taking you to the Wastelands, killing you, and feeding your scraps to my cerberus pups." Haitian smirked again, showing his fangs. His eyes glown ruby red, an odd sparkle present showing his deadly honesty and intention. He resumed his spot on the column after walking through Sydney again and refolded his arms. "Out of my face, abomination." ----------- dragon-talk Syd did not even wince at the burn she received under her chin. Her eyes watched this unknown demon carefully and with a very intense glare. She was not going to stand for being treated like this demon had just treated her. In a split second, Sydney had her katana drawn and the point of it tilted directly under Haitian's chin just barely touching his skin. "Touch me like that again and you won't live long enough to smile afterward..." Sydney's glare was the most intense it had been yet. ----------------------------------- Twai-Lyte Haitian smirked. "Not livestock, eh?" He chuckled and slowly approached Sydney, walking around her, 'inspecting' her. "Down here, everything that isn't a a demon..." He began, trailing a fingernail underneath her chin. Some chemical was on his fingernails and burned her skin. "...is livestock." He winked at her and stood next to a column that stood at the end of a row of chairs where other members of the Devil council sat. "So, you better get used to it. It's going to happen often. Looks...double takes...people judging you...Because all you are down here, is livestock. You're not one of us." He folded his arms over his chest. "Anyways, I don't have to introduce myself, so you can simply refer to me as....Master." He smiled, flashing his fanged teeth. Seduction was his main hobby. Of course he'd never truly associate with anything less than a demon. Not even half demons. This was merely foreplay...His form of playing the newbie for a pawn. A target... ------------------------- dragon-talk ((alright. Nice posting with you today, Scythe! see you next time!)) --------------------------------- Scythe de Zaran ((Alright. I'm off for today. Sounds like a good place to let Namine, Aston, and crashton post. Good luck with the internet.)) ------------------------------------ dragon-talk ((lol alright. Hopefully, my internet will be kind to me like it was yesterday and give me an extra hour. usually it dies around 12:15am.))
Sydney looked at Bagarth's extended hand in mild disdain shown by a scowl on her face. She clearly was not in the mood to be talking to anyone right now. Especially not another demon. "Whatever." Sydney replied, turning down Bagarth's offer of a hand shake. All Syd wanted at this point was to be left alone. ------------------------------------ Scythe de Zaran ((Looks like I'll be on for a little longer. Waiting for someone IRL...))
Obviously, there was some sort of disagreement between this Cambion and Noktal, and surely her presence wasn't helping the situation... as was evidenced by Sydney's reaction to Bagarth's pacing.
Livestock? Funny creature, this Cambion. "Ah, feisty one, eh?" Bagarth stopped her pacing and took the formality to extend her hand in human custom. "Well, Sydney, my name is Bagarth. A pleasure to meet your acquaintance," Bagarth said with a small smile and the same sarcastic tone she had earlier when she greeted her demon counterparts.
This looked like it would be fun. Whatever Noktal did, whether Sydney was worth it, would be clear sometime in the future. Besides, it was nice to have a semi-Angel with them. Perhaps, Bagarth wouldn't be alone in her "angelic" adventures, if one should even call them that. ------------------------------------ dragon-talk ((I'll probably be offline by midnight your time, Namine. My internet will most likely have shut down by then. icon_crying.gif))
"I don't just mean the losses that are directly connected to your people! What about the losses that the Angels have had? And don't even get me started on the Humans, Cambions, and Nephillims! Don't make the assumption that I had any connections to Angels and their teachings." Sydney spat back at Noktal, ignoring Bagarth's initial greetings. She wanted so much to punch Noktal in the face right now. "I hardly had the chance to know my own father and my own last name! Don't think for one second that I have a soft spot for Angels because I don't! And I never will!" The entire time she was shouting at Noktal, Sydney didn't seem to care that he could probably kill her right about now. She just cared that her point got across.
When she had finished her part of the argument, Syd spun around on her heel to try to put some amount of space between herself and the demons who had gathered in the room to speak with Grathrym. However, Bagarth's pacing around her finally caught her attention. Not in the mood to deal with an annoying pest staring at her and circling around her, Sydney's eyes narrowed in her rising anger. "Leave me alone, dammit! I'm not some piece of livestock or something that you can just inspect!" she growled at Bagarth. ---------------------------------- Scythe de Zaran ((Unfortunately, I will most likely be off by 12pm PST. ((On the contrary, Scythe. You got Haitian pegged pretty good. The only difference is that he doesn't believe that he's better than everyone else. He just believes he deserves a spot on the Devil council because even though he's young, he's one of the best fighters, technically one of the first 'Grim Reapers' who claimed souls to build the Netherworld's army, etc. etc. He's just out to get what he thinks he deserves. Basically, he feels cheated. Which he really should be used to. It's demons and devils we're talking about here.))
Haitian let out a small sigh as Bagarth tried to play peacemaker again. Out of all the Devils, Bagarth was probably the only one he seemed to get along with...sort of. It was more a professional courtesy than anything. Although, he did have his moments of weakness where his playful, seductive side wanted to react with her. But he never let it come to that. He knew he probably annoyed her too much to have her in his bed at least once anyway. He chuckled at the thought. In a pig's eye... He thought.
He barely felt the cut made on his neck until he felt a light trickle of blood flowing. He touched his neck and chuckled wryly. Seems I hit a nerve in the abomination. He thought. This ought to be very fun. She'll be my new...plaything. He looked around the room, seeing the council together with him in the shadows and Sydney the center of attention. Let's just see what this creature does. Maybe she'll have some amount of use. He licked the blood off his fingertips.

Halgron stepped back through the portal into his homeland, he had found it. Now all that was to do was to0 dispatch a couple of his squads to destroy the tatters of defense that remained at the outpost. he brought one of his sergeants to him and gave him the orders to attack. One more victory for the horde. Halgron made his way into the courtyard and toward where he knew grathrym would be.
