Pomme had felt a hint of pain when she had seen Mira's face. The child had seemed so terrorized when Pomme had let go of her.
The short woman was surprised by the power of the elf, although she had whispered in the Princess's ear, Sam was speaking to her back as if she had voiced her idea loud and clear for everyone to hear.

Although Pomme trusted the elf and her judgment, she refused to differ to her and she waited for the Princess to speak or act to follow.
The red hair knew that as a follower she was looked down and despised, but this was what she was, a follower, nothing more, nothing less.
Serenice was the one taking the decision, Pomme was following. The mention of the vampire by Lilith hurt her chest but once again she did not ask, remaining silent.

Once Lilith dropped her mask and spoke openly to the adviser, Pomme was relieved. Seeing how the Princess was addressing the elf with reverence, Pomme knew that now her opinion meant nothing and all she had to do was once again follow and protect the Princess. No more thinking, just acting as ordered.

She was grateful for Sam's hiding skills for they were coming very handy. It did not take long after they had removed their belongings from the saddles and cast the horses away for loud hoofs to pass them, close, far too close to the knife thrower's taste.

Not caring about decency, the woman passed her skirts in her belt, preventing her garment to become too wet and muddy but also reviling her legs outrageously. She was used to clothing in which she could move freely and silently and showing her legs was the last of her problems at that moment.

Then she let Sam and Lilith take the front and followed a little behind, never losing the Princess in sight, but putting a little bit of distance between them to be less disturbed by their discussion and hence listened careful to any suspicious noise around them.

Sam walked slowly next to the princess silent for a moment before she spoke. "I am sad to say I do not have good news. The Mei'Q have their claws deep in the capital. They patrol the streets at night, and many are too afraid to leave their houses. Falconer is set to be executed soon, but Serenice is supposed to be hot on rescuing him."

Sighing Sam looked up as a bit of water dropped down her back. It was still raining, perhaps a bad omen. She shook her head, trying to eradicate such thoughts. She thought for a moment about erecting a shield above their heads to block the rain but banished the though, knowing that more magic in an area could attract someone sensitive to magic. Or another magic user. Either of which would not be the best. As it was, her simple bending of light was enough to attract someone sensitive to magic, maybe not another magic user unless they were very powerful, or looking for her.

Lilith Ishtar Daciana Valdis Gwenevere Ovet

First it comes on quiet creeping slow
Clever words and phrases only stain
I remain so
Lost and buried under
Everything that I need
When all I want is you

((I'm just gonna timeskip to them being in a cave or something, resting up. xD I'm going to say that Mira is still asleep at this point 'cause otherwise Lilith wouldn't be talking.))

'So Serenice lives.' Lilith thought to herself, a relief that she did not show flooding through her. She remained silent for a few moments as though to think on the information. "I am not surprised." She answered impassively as the treaded through the forest. She could sense that Pomme had fallen behind yet remained close, a good choice on the woman's part. Lilith lifted her eyes up to the bleak sky before returning her gaze to where they were walking.

There were few ways that this situation could get worse. Walking through the forest in a four man team with absolutely no outside help or army waiting to back them up. It wasn't quite so bleak with Samhailien with her now, though. This was, without a doubt, one of the best things that could have realistically happened.

They traveled well through the day, Lilith telling Samhailien that would tell her of her strategies for the war as soon as they had found a secure location. They did, still out in the middle of nowhere, in a cave that was so well hidden Lilith actually hadn't noticed it. At this point the rain had come down much heavier, leaving Lilith soaked so the bone. She had stripped off her outer layers of clothing and had them laid out near the small fire they'd managed to make from wet wood.

"I have formulated a plan." Lilith began after a pregnant pause had filled the air. "I will be abandoning the capital and creating a new fort within the Maskves Mountains." She let the words linger for a moment in case her advisor was going to repeat the words in her own head. The Maskves Mountains were infamous in Erion for being a place that almost no one entered and returned from. "And even I will admit that this strategy crosses through the border of madness." She was known amongst her officers for coming up with outrageously outlandish battle designs. This, however, had to be at the top of the list of insane things she'd decided to do. "However the Maskves Mountains are the only area in all of Erion I can be guaranteed no Mei'q Valuk forces will be in. And if I have lived after being surrounded on all sides by enemies even within my own throne room then surely I will be able to lead people through that cursed agglomeration."

She paused again so that Sam could digest the information. She did not think the elf was unintelligent (FAR from that). She only felt that it would be better to move through her plans slowly and fully explain them since they seemed to have plenty of time. Men trusted their eyes far too much so they would continue chasing after the horses. By the time they realized that the riders were gone their tracks would have been washed away.

"If it is possible I would prefer for some sort of a fort to have already been set up within the mountains." The princess continued, feeling that more than enough time had passed. "There must be some way to get word out to what generals I have left to tell them to go there. Even if it is only a single man the faster a spot can be created there the better. Now as for the girl you are carrying her name is Mira. She stumbled upon our hiding spot earlier today. She had an infected wound on her arm so I removed the infected flesh by cutting it off. She is still sick with a fever and believes Pomme and I to be Annick and Charlotte, two sisters who are traveling to the north to Farlestown to see if the rest of their family lives. I plan to keep her unaware of the truth for as long as possible as I have no idea how loose lipped she is. However, she is homeless, so I am going to keep her with us and have her be trained. Tracking, fighting, as a maid- anything she seems to be talented at. She will be the first of many lost ones that I will be adding to my forces. It would be most ideal to bring others like her to the Maskves Mountains. Many of my troops have been lost so I must replace them. I know that there are ragtag 'armies' for Erion that exist. We must find them and convince them to follow us to the Maskves Mountains. What of your input, Master Samhailien?"

Silence stretched across the stank jail. Well to be fair, the faint sounds of the guards getting drunk right next to the door could still be heard, but regardless no sound originated from Falconer's prone body.

That mass of a sentence aside, Falconer's head dropped down to study his own pathetic self, noting the variety of scars and tissue damage he had received over the past 20 odd years. Honestly, it was like there was a backstory to it all or something.

"Hush now Mr. Bunny, the characters are talking." Falconer giggled out. "Its not polite for you to narrate and comment while we're trying to move the story along"

At this, his head began lolling about until an unfocused eye peered out beneath the mess of Falconer's bangs. Life returned to said eye as Falconer began to study the lady's body, his eyebrow shooting up and forehead crinkling.

"Okay...I don't think I've visited the local whore house enough times for any of the wimmens there to know me by name...and vice-versa...Not that I'm saying I go...I mean sure, your a lovely, lovely bunch of women...and it is the oldest profession on Earth...nothing against you...um"

Nicholas slouched forward again, a tiny wail emerging from the back of his throat.

"My God...I can't remember how long I've been here, but this prison is sapping my ability to talk to women...I need food, not sex...Sex is going to drain me of any further ability to articulate. Next thing you know, I'm going to be a babbling idiot, spent of all energy lying in a pile of my own filth as they drag me off to the gallows."

Long pause.

"Well, I suppose sex would do that to you anyway...even when its good..."

Falconer began repeating the girl's words, confusion increasing in his voice as he did so.

"Falconer...it's me. Falconer, it's me...Falconer, its'a me!"

He raised a finger for silence, pondering.

"Okay, so I don't know any whores, but they know me...The only logical conclusion is that your not really a whore, but a someone pretending to be one? I've said whore so many times now that it no longer holds any meaning to me..."

The left side of his mouth crinkled as Nicholas began to chew on the inside of his mouth in thought, hand still held up for silence.

"My only guess is that your someone here to rescue me...In that case, I have to be deeply sorry. Unless your the magical mythical demonic yet still alluringly sexy vixen that is the Princess' body guard, I highly doubt you could rescue me."

Nicholas sighed, the only warning the girl got before he launched into another rant.

"How to describe such a body guard? There are no words that can encompass such awesomeness, not in Basic or any other human tongue. It is other, alien beyond comprehension, its very existence an affront to all rationality. I speak of blood-dripping fangs and yonic voids, painfully dissonant cries and colours of no earthly hue, but these are mere superficialities. Monstrous though these stigmata are, they do not define the abnormalities; they are merely among the common symptoms of its underlying wrongness."

Falconer shrugged.

"Thats if you believe the rumours. I've personally never met said bodyguard, nor know of its existence. The soldier's simply insist on its existence, glimpses of some phantom perhaps? I know not."

Falconer looked sideways, before lighting up.

"Wait crap, if your actually here to rescue me and are pretending to be a whore..."

Falconer's head shot up, before he kicked out with his foot, knocking over the nearby water bucket. It splashed across the floor, covering it with a murky substance.

"Oh, you like it rough!" He shouted out, mouthing 'Play along'.

"Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Falcon-man to the rescue!"

--

There was an awkward silence outside the door. The guards as one lowered their drinks, before turning to look at one another with confusion.

"He calls it Falcon-man?" They chorused in unison, deadpanned.

Serenice looked at the man in silence. As time passed, an strangely amused smile crept on her lips. What a man!
In the darkness she allowed her face to show her feelings, forgetful that the man's eyes were probably accustomed to the darkness and that he could probably see like in broad day light.

The vampire had known the man to be a little special. She had seen him from afar several times but never from up close. She had to admit that he was more impressive than she had expected. He was taller, darker, dirtier than she had thought. But that was to be expected from someone who just spent long days in this filthy place.
As the man babbled and spoke to himself. It hit her.
They had never been formally introduced. He did not know her. How would he trust her?! She mentally cursed at her own stupidity. Had the blood loss hindered so much her capacity?

She was about to speak up in a whisper when the man started to voice his thoughts, a hand held up to prevent her from speaking.
She stared at him in the darkness, listening to him talking about whore and rescue and... Her eyes flew wide 'sexy vixen'!
This man was definitely crazy. Who in the world who believe her to be alluring, let less sexy.
She wanted to stop him yet he spoke again. describing ... her! She swallowed hard, she did not want to hear that. She did not care. She had made a life of not caring what the others say, of devoting her life to the protection of the princess. Yet even if she did not want to listen, she heard. She was puzzled and confused.

At last he stopped and she passed a hand in her hair. That man was a lunatic, how was she suppose to save him?!

The man seemed to come back to his senses for just a split second, then started yelling.
She remained silent for a moment. Why did she had to do that? Because she was a warrior, a bodyguard.
She took a deep breath then looking away from Falconer, she moaned.
"Oh please..." Her voice was husky and panting.
She accompanied it with gasps and little screams.
How embarrassing!

Outside of the door the guards chuckled.
"She likes it?!" one of them had surprised eyes.
The others two chuckled.
John shook his head.
"She probably hates it but she is a professional. I'll show her the real thing after she is done!"
The guards laughed loudly yet they were all feeling tired and dizzy, the sleeping potion slowly making effect through their bloods.

Serenice heard the voices getting dimmer and quieter.
Soon she would be able to stop this pitiful farce and get to it.
As she went on panting and moaning and gasping, she pulled cords and a wide black piece of fabric out of her skirts.

Falconer felt that there was something very wrong with this situation. It was not the kind of thing one tends to notice when you have an attractive woman, panting and moaning and gasping, all of which did very interesting things to parts of her body and made certain parts of his anatomy feel uncomfortable, but it was a point nonetheless.

"Its gotten quiet outside..." He resisted the urge to add 'unlike here, hurr hurr wink wink', before shifting around in his chains to get a look at the door, simultaneously covering his lap so that the girl couldn't see Falcon Man getting all excited.

"S'okay little guy, no pressure, I got you covered."

A beat.

"Um...I mean, not so little guy."

Falconer's eyes flicked back down to the girl, a question on the tip of his tongue. Said question proceeded to die and return to its place in the very recesses of his mind as he noticed the pieces of fabric and cords being pulled out of her skirt.

Eyebrows show up. Eyes widened. Falcon-man danced a little jig.

"Ummm..." Curse his voice, curse it! High pitched and slightly hopeful be damned, as deliciously kinky as the possibilities being presented here were, Falconer had to remember that this was a potential rescue mission, and that if she were here for sweet sweet loving, it would've happened before he even started talking.

Resisttttt

"So, what are those for?" He asked, still in that darn tone of voice. He was 24 for God's sake, he'd slept with women before. Sure, none of them had ever...brought in...stuff...like this, nor had been anywhere near as attractive, but he was acting like some teenager who'd never seen the light of day, whose only experiences with the outside world involved school and who only experienced physical contact via the fists of people at said school.

"Jeez we're getting a bit graphic."

A lightbulb proceeded to pop up above Falconer's head as he studied the woman before him.

"That's your secret weapon! Of course" Fist hit palm as the chains rattled about him. "I've heard stories of people like this...conventional weapons no longer excite them you see." Falconer resisted the urge to look down. "And so they resort to more improvised measures. Its quite interesting actually. I've seen soldier's covered in lard off the shoulder's of Erion. I watched healing magic been used to kill in Marathon. But all these moments fade, like tears in the rain, when compared to the height of improvisation."

There was a far away look in Falconer's eyes now as he spoke.

"Yes...One of the soldier's were passing stories around during the camp fire one night...It involves the bodyguard of the Princess. Supposedly, a would be assassin had attempted to take the life of the Princess one day, and the bodyguard was curiously unarmed at the time. All it had on it at the time was a pile of paperwork from the king and queen, so it constructed a paper fan and beat the assassin to death."

Respect nod.

"I don't even care if he made it up now, what with him being 17 and drunk and all, but thats just too awesome. I hope that if this body guard does exist, he or she actually does this someday. I just need to see it."

Serenice was paying more attention to the men outside than to the ranting soldier next to her. She barely heard him saying that it was getting quieter. She was slowly creeping away from the man, moving silently closer to the door.

She heard his question from afar but she did not answer. He would see soon enough what she would do with the ropes and black fabric.
When he exclaimed about 'secret weapon', she sighed mentally. This man never shut up, didn't he?! She opened her mouth to tell him to go on with the screaming and pretending, when he went on about the bodyguard's special abilities. She did not know what appalled her most: the respectful nod or the stupidity of the story.
Entering in an argument about the veracity of the story was the last thing she needed.

As she reached the door, her eyes widened. In an instant she was on Falconer, her hands clasped around his wrists. Her back was to the door and with a mixture of fury and hatred, she started moving his arms to make noise with the chains. She tried not to press her body too hard against the man's.

Behind the vampire, the cell door's window opened and John's eyes crept into the darkness. He could not see much but could hear the chains and see the woman above the prisoner. He grinned.
"Thank you for making him shut up!" he roared in laughter yet his voice seemed tired.
"However we did not mind your voice!" he laughed again, but this time his voice trailed and a loud 'pumf' could be heard as his body slide against the door and fell on the floor in front of the door cell.
At the table the two other guards were sound asleep.

Better safe than sorry... thought the woman and she lingered against Falconer for some more time. She felt uneasy to be so close to him and was getting ready to have the man start a new rant about a rabbit, a paper fan or Falcon-man. The last idea puzzled her and she grunted as she slip away. That man was nuts and she needed to keep a safe distance between them if she did not want to be contaminated.

Once again she moved towards the door, cautiously and silently. The window was open and she dared a look outside. The way was clear.

She cast a side look at Falconer. He was going to see her 'secret weapon' alright and that disturbed her more than she had thought. That was just another sign that she was a monster and not a human. She sighed and focused on her task.

Her right hand crept at the opening and slowly two of her fingers extended, longer, much longer, until they reached John's belt, she searched a moment before finding what she was looking for: the keys.

She removed them from the belt and pulled them in the cell. She had planned on tossing the keys to the chains to the prisoner while she took care of the door but she did not know which keys were for what. Seconds ticked by, she was by Falconer's side, trying the keys one by one on his chains.

"We have to hurry." she whispered.

PostPosted: Sun Oct 10, 2010 5:44 am

At the sight of the girl moving, Falconer was uncharacteristically silent. Something big was about to happen, he was sure, and he had to make sure all his senses were up for the task. For a brief moment, his mind returned to the wonders of paper fans before something amazing happened.

Remember the part about the senses? Shouldn't be that hard, it was a sentence ago. Falconer's brain had shut down as said senses began to process information for him. His eyes were now telling him that the girl was no longer where she was a mere moment ago. His ears only heard frantic breathing. His nose smelt the ointments and perfumes the girl had put on for her role. His sense of taste wasn't picking anything up, but that was more than made up for by touch.

Falconer was used to full body contact, it came with the years of training and fighting and the what not. Only under special circumstances was it involved with a girl, and if they were dressed like this girl was, then he was either about to blank out for the night or save some damsel in distress. This was definitely something new, and he unconsciously began to notice that she was shaking slightly from a strange anger.

'You do kinda smell' He noted to himself, another unfriendly reminder of his time in prison

As she pulled away, Falconer continued to remain silent, staring up at her with a blank look, before rapidly blinking and shaking his head.

--

"Prince Hidoi!"

The young man looked up from his desk, eyes surveying the messenger who saluted before delivering his message.

"Another prisoner of war has passed away your highness, this time a general, one of the men scheduled for tomorrow's execution. The court physician has confirmed that an infection from one of his wounds, as well as malnutrition was the cause of death."

Hidoi nodded, returning to his work. It took just 5 seconds for the prince to realise that the messenger had not left. He raised his head, followed by an eyebrow.

The messenger cleared his throat.

"Its come to our attention that Falconer's whore has arrived sire. Guards had confirmed she was unarmed and-"

The messenger cut off as Hidoi rose, a look of fury in his eyes. And as he spoke, each word came out slowly and carefully.

"Who...gave the order?"

"S-sire?"

Hidoi's hands slammed down onto his desk, spilling ink and sending papers flying.

"Who gave the orders that Falconer was to have his whore tonight?"

"W-we thought it was you sire..."

In a fury of movement, Hidoi brushed past the messenger and stormed over to his bed.

"Quickly boy, we don't have much time!"

"Y-your majesty?"

"My armour you idiot! Help me put it on, every second you dawdle is every second that Falconer has to escape!"

"But he's with his whore right now-"

"That is no whore you fool! Think, why is he the only one to have his schedule changed? Something is afoot. Now come!"

--

Falconer barely flinched as he watched the girl's fingers extend, before they returned, keys attached. She returned to his side, and he watched with mild interest as she began to work on his chains.

"We have to hurry."

"Your not human" Came his reply. There was a small pause at the end of that, before Falconer nodded once. "Whats your plan?"

With a clink, the chains fell off and Falconer began to rub at his wrists and ankles, rising unsteadily to his feet and grabbing the wall behind him as he shook.

His eyes flicked back to the girl, before they widened in growing realisation.

"Wait...your not the only one here are you..."

He made to grab for the keys, only to stumble and curse as his weak legs protested such movement.

"Go, go! Door! They'll be here soon! Grab whatever weapons you can from the guards, come on!"

Take my hand
Reachin' to my soul.
Have you ever found
Anything so pure before?
I touched your hand
You lost control.
Do you really want me to
Break down and cry?

By the time Mira awoke, they had traveled a great distance. The sound of rain endlessly reached Mira's ears. She was still cold, but not near what it was before. Waking was a very long process for her. Not because she was still delusional, gods no. The weird bunny was enough for Mira to fully freaked out. No. It took her so long because, well, she felt so good. Whatever that strange woman did to her, worked wonders on her body.

There was no pain in her arm. She did not feel like she was burning and freezing at the same time. And frankly, she felt she could run for days. The pure fatigue she felt for so long was gone. She had gotten so used to it from the weeks of terror after her village that she did not even realize how tired she truly was.

In that nearly awake state, Mira stayed curiously. She did not want to fully wake in case she was dreaming how she was feeling. But eventually she knew it was time to stop hiding. Slowly, the small peasant girl opened her eyes to a bright fire. Sitting across from her was Charlotte, Annick, and the strange woman.

Wait...Mira felt like she was forgetting something...Her heart beating faster, she surveyed her area. They were in a dark cave. Where, she had no clue. The cave opening was a little ways away, so the cave must be fairly large. It indeed was still raining, but Mira didn't much care for that. After judging that nothing was going to try and kill her immediately, she glanced down at herself. She was still covered in the blanket that she remembered from her previous moments of consciousness. Then, she thought she saw a glint of gold being past by the other group.

Mira freaked to say the least. They just settled on a price! Before she could think about anything else, Mira was on her feet and running. Oddly, not in the direction she thought she should. No, she was heading straight for Charlotte. She jumped over the fire, losing the blanket at that moment, to full body slam into Charlotte. All the while she was screaming, "Please don't sell me! I'm not worth that much! I'm weak and I can't do any sewing, or cooking or anything productive. I thought you were a nice person!" She continued screaming while she cried onto Charlotte's shoulder.

Take your time
Look into my eyes
Have you ever seen
Anything so pure before?

Lilith Ishtar Daciana Valdis Gwenevere Ovet

First it comes on quiet creeping slow
Clever words and phrases only stain
I remain so
Lost and buried under
Everything that I need
When all I want is you

As Lilith waited for her advisor to come up with a response to her plan (which, even Lilith had to admit was not the best one she'd come up with, let alone the sanest) Mira began to stir. The princess held her hand up to signal for Samhailien not to answer to anything she'd previously said. It was time for her to return to her roll as Charlotte, younger sister of Annick, who was nothing more than a bit of a stubborn farm girl.

Princess Lilith had not been expecting for the girl to jump out of her covers as though there was a snake in it. The crimson locked woman was actually thinking that there was. Then, in what seemed like a pure lapse of sensible judgment, the girl jumped over the fire and straight at her. As Mira tackled her Lilith grabbed onto both of the girl's wrists to prevent her from attacking her. The two tumbled backwards, as Lilith hadn't been prepared for such an assault. It was only a second later, however, that she realized Mira wasn't trying to strangle her. She was crying.

Lilith released the girl's thin wrists and promptly shoved her upwards so that she wasn't directly on top of her.
"What're you talking about?" Lilith snapped angrily as she sat up and yanked the part of her blouse that'd slipped down her shoulder back up. Dear gods, what had possessed her-?

Lilith grabbed onto one of Mira's shoulders to keep her from running anywhere else and gently smacked the girl on the cheek to grab her attention.
"Mira! Mira! For heaven's sakes we're not selling you to anyone," Lilith's tone was a commanding one, urging the younger girl to put an end to her hysterical behavior. Then, with a bit of a curt sigh Lilith rested her hand on the cheek that she'd just hit and locked her eyes with Mira's puffy red ones. "Mira. Focus on me. We're not going to sell you. You can stay with us, so long as you can put up with my godforsaken attitude. Do you understand me?"

Did... would that help at all? Lilith waited a few seconds as she fought for something else to say. This was ridiculous- she'd given speeches to motivate thousands of soldiers to fight against an army nearly twice their size and she couldn't even come up with the proper words to adequately comfort a hysterical girl? This really wasn't something she ever did, save for her brother and maybe herself. What would she say to herself or him?

"If you're really worried about not being able to do something then learn." She stated, trying to sound less fearsome than normal and knowing that her words were still coming out rough. Being gentle was not something she had programmed herself to be. "My sister Annick can cook very well. Perhaps if you ask nicely she'd be inclined to teach you something."

Pomme was silent as the Princess was discussing with the advisor. Her opinion was not needed so she just stayed at the entry of the cave. Her eyes were trying to see across the rain. If it was hindering their movements, it was also preventing the troops to localize them. Maybe rain was luck after all.

She cast a look at the sleeping child, then at the Princess. They did not need her for now. The elf could protect the Princess if anything happened, hell the Princess was strong enough to defend herself.

Without a word she left the cave, she needed to find them food. It took her a little while but she found two rabbits which despite the rain did not stand a chance against the red hair's knives. Soaked despite her cloak, she headed back to the cave.

Her eyes widened in horror as she witnessed the attack of Mira on Lilith. She dropped the food and her knives appeared in her hands when she realized that the child was sobbing. She froze and stared. What could have happened to that child for her to behave like that?!
Memories of her own childhood came to the woman. She had been a slave for as long as she could remember until Serenice became her friend and fought for their own freedom.
She picked up the rabbits and entered with a warm smile.

"Mira, please, can you help me prepare the rabbits? We need something warm to eat."
She could not help but sympathize with the kid.
She removed her cloak and hanging it against the rock of the cave for it to dry. Then she kneed by the fire and started skinning then preparing the meat.
She extended a hand to Mira, trying to give space to the Princess.
"Come, don't be shy."

Serenice did not slow down when he mentioned that she was not human. Indeed she was not, what was the point in arguing?

"To get you out of here..." she whispered in a growl.

He was free. She stood up, gave a slightly worried look as she realized how weak he was. She could carry him without problem but that would slow them down ...and that'd be quite embarassing.
She took the keys without a word to work on the outer lock. His statement about the number of rescuers was left unanswered. As far as she was concerned, she did not need anyone to rescue a captain such as Falconer, anyone would just be in the way.

The door flew open. She grabbed John and dragged him inside the cell. She cast a look at Falconer.
In her plan the guard and the prisoner had swapped clothes but she felt uneasy as if they were running out of time. And now that they were face to face she had trouble seeing herself asking the prisoner to undress. She even considered the option of knocking him out so that she could act as she wished but voted against.
In a blink of an eye, the guard's wrists were attached with the chains restraining Falconer moments again. She wrapped the rope between the man's teeth and tied it in the back, preventing him to shout or to speak when he'd awake. Then tied the black fabric around his head. Outside for the clothes, he looked like a prisoner sentenced to death. She had seen enough execution to know how they looked.

She headed out, pulling Falconer with her. The two other men were still snoring. She closed the door, locking it back. She cast a look through the window opening. From the door, they would have no way to see if it were Falconer or not and they would need to open to check out. They would lose time.

She grabbed the bottle on the guards' table and swapped it with another one. She filled their glasses. Then dabbed some of the liquid on their lips. She hurried away, her head wrapped around Falconer's wrist.

They had barely passed the corner of the hallway that a yawn could be heard. The vampire accelerated. Another corner, she pressed against the stone wall, pushed and an opening appeared. She pushed Falconer in without hesitation and closed behind them.

They could hear the guards laughing and drinking again.
"Now that's good beverage."
A chair moved, footsteps.
"Ahah John already prepared our prisoner! He did not lose time to leave with the exotic girl though! He could have shared."
Laughters.

Serenice put down the empty bottle and John's cup on the ground. They were in full darkness but that did not bother her. They were safe for now. Outside of the fact that no one but the Princess and herself knew that passage, it would took more than ten men to press open the stones.

She murmured.
"We should keep moving."

"Make way for the Prince!"

The clash of metal on rock resonated across the castle as soldiers began the search. Mere moments earlier, the Prince had burst into the cells, leading a force of 50 warriors, all clad head to toe in the finest military apparel money could buy. The Prince himself was at his best, clad in black armor and smelling of ozone, as though the town was on the brink of a thunderstorm.

The discovery of the guard in Falconer's place was what finally pushed the man over the urge. With an inhuman roar, he had unleashed his trademark lightning magic, destroying the chains that bound the man to the wall, as well as taking out a good portion of said wall. The guard dropped the floor, whimpering and crying, the sounds muffled by the rope held between his teeth.

"Search the castle. Search the town. I want answers, I want leads. No man, woman or child is to sleep until I get them."

Still crackling from the magical overload, he looked down at the guard.

"Get him up. I want to personally question him. See who gave him the orders."

He turned and left the room, barking "Get to it!" as he left.

--

"Your Majesty!" The messenger pounded on the door of Prince Gidel.

"Your Majesty! The prisoner Nicholas Falconer has been reported missing from his cell! His majesty Prince Hidoi has the entire town in an uproar and is demanding orders being made for the lockdown of the city!"

--

"Get out of my way!"

The servant girl was roughly slammed into the wall, emitting a shriek as she did so as the Prince hurried past.

"I want a map of this town and a map of this castle as soon as possible. Begin looking for any secret passages, especially ones close to the cells."

"But sir, wouldn't that kinda be impossible? You know, what with them being...secret and all."

The entire company of guards and one crazed Prince Hidoi all turned to look at the man who spoke out of turn. There was an awkward pause as the smell of ozone began gathering again.

"Never mind"

--

Strange, out of sequence post beginnings out of the way, we can now focus on what you all came to see: Falconer Shenanigans.

"You know, any other day and this kind of situation would be awesome. The wounded soldier fantasy. The prisoner of war, and the sexy, albeit non-human female. By the rulings of Chaos and Law, there's probably some adult company making literature like that."

Across North America, and in a small part of Australia, certain people began shuddering.

Placing one hand on the wall, Falconer began the slow trek forward, every so often stumbling and cursing in every language he could recount. His voice, no matter how low he'd swear would echo around them. Curiously enough though, such behavior did not prompt any reaction from the guards searching for them.

--
Two guards paused by a section of wall

"Dude, this wall is haunted. I can hear voices."

"No way, let me see. Er, hear."

The pair pressed their ears against the stone.

"-La mayyitan ma qadirun yatabaqqa sarmadi fa idha yaji’ al-shudhdhadh fa-l-maut qad yantahi!"

The two stepped back.

"There's no way any human could've produced those sounds right?"

"Right."

"So we must naturally conclude that something foul and unwholesome is down there"

"I completely agree"

"Shall we run in absolute terror now?"

"Right behind you"

And so, the legend of the haunted wall was created.

Serenice remained silent as she walked down the path. She did not mind the oppressive darkness, she could not even see her own hands. Yet she was walking without hesitation. One would assume that she could see in the dark, but the truth was that she knew that path by heart. She had learned it through tears and blood some would say. Let there without help, forced to find her way across the labyrinth, begging for a hand to lead her, but nothing had come and she had toughened up.

So was the price to become the bodyguard of the future Queen. But was did she gain in her mission? Her freedom? If she truly wanted it, she could have taken it years ago. If she wanted to disappear no one would ever find her.

Memories were flowing to her mind, interrupted by passing soldiers on the other side of the walls or Falconer, cursing in her back.

She stopped, closed her eyes and sighed.

"You never shut up, don't you?" her voice was a sharp cold whisper.

She should have gone to the Princess and let the elf handle the rescue mission, although she guessed that the advisor would have probably ended up executed with the prisoner she was sent to rescue.

If she knew the way out by heart, she was also using her sense of smell to guide herself. That made her far too aware of the human in her back. He smelled of sweat, filth and dried blood. Luckily for the man, he stank so strongly that it would have covered the scent of open wounds...or else...she might have finished him off right there in the secret tunnel, just like she had killed the young Lizzie.

How ironic it would be, killing the one she was sent to rescue...

Despite her repulsion, she grabbed the man's wrist once again and pulled him, forcing him to walk at her path. They were running out of time. If only the man walked as much as he cursed, they would have already been out of the castle by now.

They walked. They walked. They walked.

At last a faint light appeared in the distance. Serenice blessed the night for being so dark.
She came to an halt quite abruptly. The end of the tunnel was emerging in the middle of the northern forest, north from the City. There were no way they would know where to find them. Yet she took no risk and scanned the area from the tunnel.

Clear.
She jumped out and motioned Falconer to follow her.
One horse was waiting for them with supplies in the saddle.
"Jump on, we need to keep going." she ordered the man.

Overall Gidel felt as though the day had gone on productively. Although there were some issues with the civilians in the city they were well taken care of. He didn't expect anything less of his soldiers, knowing that they were professionals and that for the most part they acted so.

So as soon as the plans for the day had been set out and done (as well as they could be at least, things were still remarkably chaotic) he retired to his chambers to sleep. As the minutes slipped by he found that despite how exhausted he was from everything his mind wouldn't shut down to let him slip off into slumber.

'Lilith...' he thought to himself with a deep, tired sigh as he turned to lay on his back. He stared at the back of his eyelids, watching various colors of dark yellow and red swim around the dark abyss. 'Lilith.' Gidel opened his eyes, brow furrowed as he crossed his arms over his chest. 'You really are a stupid woman, aren't you? Why is that things had to-'

"Your majesty!" A loud banging at the door interrupted his thoughts and he bolted upright, head growing light from the sudden movement. "Your Majesty! The prisoner Nicholas Falconer has been reported missing from his cell! His majesty Prince Hidoi has the entire town in an uproar and is demanding orders being made for the lockdown of the city!"

With a grunt Gidel threw himself out of bed, walking over to the door and practically ripping it open. "Get my servants in here!" He barked back before unceremoniously slamming the door in the man's face.

Within minutes after his servants had dressed him Gidel was striding down the hallway, just short of breaking into a run. He looked clearly irritated, silent as he listened to one of his officers give him a detailed report of what was going on. Just before he reached the place where his brother Hidoi was he took in a deep breath to settle his irritated nerves and stepped in.

"Hidoi! Have you let your temper get to your senses!?" Gidel demanded angrily as he came in, interrupting his officer midway through a sentence. "Causing an uproar will get us absolutely nothing! If you lock down the entire city the ex-Erion citizens will become aware that something is wrong and someone will leak that Falconer has escaped." Despite Gidel not possessing any of the magical powers that his younger brother did there was a definitely aura of rage and disappoint surrounding him. It was so powerful, in fact, that the officer who had been at his side giving him the report and the servants who had been trailing after him were starting to back away. "You're acting a like a bloody idiot! If we allow the people to know that he's escaped and then see our entire forces panic and scramble around to find him then what do you think that tells them of us?" With a growl Gidel shook his head, looking away from his brother before continuing. "Instead of wasting your time searching for them by eye get some dogs in here! The man has to reek so strongly that any blood hound will be able to pick up his scent."
