(*Squeals* Omg fight!) Xen's Gen. Identification check:10*+13(int mod)+24(2 per 5 ranks in gen)=35 vs Raine 7+3=10 sad Raine's blades cracked on his knuckles. He needed to keep his wits about him, facing Xen... it was the best he could do.
"I want you to know that I'm not holding back as I did with Kimiko... you're far to strong for me to take such license with...I trust you feel the same?"
"Let's cut the pillow talk." He said sternly, Raine couldn't let on that he knew he was the underdog. But Xen went on. He sounded so smug, it was hard to listen to. The boy pushed his feet out against the sand moving into position. For Raine there was honor in battle, honor in the moments before the kill, not self-righteousness. Raine growled as his hands began to flicker. DAMN! He started forward his sandals sending waves of shimmering sand back behind him. "I DON"T FEAR ANYTHING!" His hand rose, winding-up into the mechanics for a deadly punch. His muscles slowed as Xen fell into blackness. The whole area entombed into a knew blackness. "What the-"
Play Music Now crying
"NEVER!"
The boy whipped back at the scream behind him. His lungs stopped, his eyes wide. Blood sprayed out, spattering over his cheeks. "No." A flury of movement broke in front of him before another howl of desperation. Like a wounded animal he hit the ground. The crunch on bones filling the air. "God no." Hair died black with drying blood. Glorious bright blue eyes rose to meet Raine. "Heisei." The eyes sprang with agony as a dark figure stepped over the teenage Tekkenseisai and plunged cool metal his body. "AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Raine screamed convulsingthrough the blackness, trying to move forward. He stood where he was though. Through all the effort he could barely inch forward to the grieving eyes staring back at him. Raine looked to his arms, they were thin like sticks, his muscle shriveling away to leave him powerless as he watched.
"Raine." Another stab, blood oozed from his mouth. The small boy leg out howls of anguish warm tears pouring out and mixing with the blood on his cheeks. "Raine, help me." The face contorted into questioning grief, even betrayal."Raine, what are you doing! Save me! Aren't you strong enough to save me!"
The small boy wailed into the darkness."HEISEI!!!!" his fingers clawed at the blackness but he could not move.
"After all of this you are still weak!" Heisei screamed back, spraying blood even further into the blackness. The dark figures now stood above his mangled body stabbing again and again. "I'm dying because I protected what I love! I protected the people that I love!" He screamed, tears coming now too."YOU'RE WORTHLESS! You can't even defend your own goddamn brother. Because you're scared to die."
Raine wept the words stabbing his heart. "Heisei, no I swear! I'll die for you! I'll die for you!" He scratched harder and harder his Aian Nakkurru snapping as they hit the blackness. "I'LL DIE FOR YOU!"Raine's Mhp:132-15=117

Suddenly the world feel into a twisted shade. The color drained from the world as a sense of surrealism seemed to quiet the air...
"But you didn't..." The voice was cold, mocking, and filled with a grim affectation. "You didn't die for him did you? You failed..." the laughter seemed to echo through the still air. shadows seemed to deepen, yet the color of the blood remained, the only thing to retain it's color... indeed it seemed to be growing an even more lustrous shade of sanguine. Heisei's eyes stared at his brother the blood pouring from his lips apparently doing little to stop his efforts at talking... yet it seemed as though he was mere puppet, the avater of the voice.
The voice was not at first identifiable...yet it was, in manner, the voice Xenon Maboroshi. Twisted and darker, much like the world of this illusion... but it was there. Another harsh laugh. "So this is your fear Raine..."
The five blades seemed to dig even deeper into Heisei's flesh the silhouette's of the Kohnoha nin becoming monstrous...inhuman... "You were there...yet you could do nothing. For all your training...all your hard work, you can never win the one battle where it truly mattered. AHAHAHAHAHA-!"
Heisei's corpse seized Raine's leg "You failed me...why Raine? Why?!"
"You couldn't protect anything..." The five shadow's cackles, their figures continuing to warp into something nightmarish.

(Damage?)
Raine's chest sunk in and out violently his eyes wide with agonizing grief. Heisei's hand clutching his tiny leg, Raine tried to pull away, the blood's color filling his vision. "Heisei! I swear!!!! I'll kill for you, I'll do anything. I am strong! I've worked for years!!!" He ripped the collar of his shirt, the black T, stripping down his chest. Raine wanted to show Heisei his scars. The scars of his first Kill, of his defeat over a ninja in true battle. As he revealed his tiny whimpy chest though heavy heaving in the darkness. There was nothing. He was 7 again, like he had been when Heisei died. "NO! NO! NO!"

"All that work," the five Konoha shadows mocked in Xenon's singular voice, "Gone...worthless... because no matter how strong you become, no matter how much power you obtain, you cannot alter the past... you cannot dismantle the reality your weakness wrought." more laughter.
"But perhaps I'll accomadate you! You want to see your brother alive again? AHAHAHA- here...I'll grant your wish..."
The swords disappeared, the blood dissipated, and suddenly Heisei was standing again... but his eyes were cold as they looked down upon Raine, his gaze frigid and hateful. "You disgust me... you're not worthy to bare the name Tekkenseisai!" he smacked Raine mercilessly "You failed me! You broke our mothers heart! Your weakness cost me everything! Protect me!? You can't even protect yourself! What sort of Tekkenseisai has OTHERS sacrifice themselves in his place?!" he seized Raine's throat, the distain burning in his eyes "I hate you..."
Xenon's dark voice was chuckling in the background. He didn't find this at all funny, in fact he himself was almost entirely dispassionate and methodical about the whole matter, merely slightly interested at Raine's fear. But he had to put on a show, had to sell this nightmare, had to push and prod so the mind would wither before it...

(Oh, you're so cruel crying . He's not going to live this down for quite a while. Also seriously what's the damage, isn't it building up by now?)
Dash leaned agasint the tree once more. He sighed, who knew what could be going on inside these goddamn kids screwed-up little minds.
"Ah." Raine barley had the belly to scream anymore. What more could they do. What more could he bare to see than his own brother die before his eyes. His only true friend, his role-model, his inspiration. Raine closed his eyes, holding his head down. "No, no, no, no, no."
Heisei smiled, standing above him. Cutting his hair. Pulling long spike up in the middle of his head, and his fingers stained with the ghatly red as Raine's small white fluffy head disappeared. "Mom's going to love this!"
The familiar voice broke out in his escape. Ripping his hands away. He stood there, and Raine couldn't bare to look up and meet his eyes. He only watched his tears glow in the blackness as the words came. Like rocks shattering glass. With the strike Raine looked up, horrified at his dear brother. "No, no!!!" it seemed to be the only thing that he could manage. Fingers reached around his neck, but Raine hadn't the energy to resist. Callused fingers that had held his neck in hugs before now wrapping around with contempt. His small legs lifted off the floor. The tiny blue eyes blotted away with tears. He looked at his brother and saw the Takigakure Ninja with the sword.
"I hate you."
His body fell limp and the air stood in his burning lungs. Raine felt like dying, there was no greater dishonor, no more horrifying grief. His eyes fell and the blue sky of the day he sat dying appeared before them. He felt warm blood on his hands like he had that day. The tears stopped. He looked up once more."Uah." he choked under Heisei's grip. Before flinging around sending his arm's up to claw at his brother's wrist. The muscles were as hard as stone. "NO." He choked defiantly. The Aian Nakkurru reappearing in his hand. He stabbed down, his teeth glaring in the blackness. Sweet blood oozed out, and Heisei's arm fell. Raine hit the ground and coughed violently for a moment. His eyes filling with rage,"YOU!" he coughed,"YOU abandoned ME!" his voice cracked with grief, but his blade shined out in the darkness.

(Not at all. Xen's Genjutsu bonus is added to the damage. If you look up I edited the first and second posts to show. And don't worry about Raine's mind. Xen already plans to tell him that what this Genjutsu shows is created by your own mind. I think I might also explain that Raine's not the only one who's has someone die for him. Though admittedly...his Mother didn't actually...but his Dad still did.)

Heisei's eyes just continued to burn. "Abandoned you!? Oh of course... I got killed on purpose, I was clearly only thinking of myself." he threw Raine down. "But what, you think you could've changed it? You think you could use those? You're still just as weak no w as you were then...you still can't save anyone...can he... Hatchi?"( twisted )
Suddenly a man seemed to appear from the darkness, his harmonica shrill and off key as his blood poured from various wounds. He turned a hollow gaze toward Raine, "Of course not... he couldn't protect anyone...he's a failed guardian...a worthless Shinobi..."
Heisei just sneered "I thought as much...tell me little brother, have you ever protected ANYONE? Our are you just a burden on everyone...just like you were to me. You just cause pain and suffering on everyone you come in contact with..."
"Oh my...is that so?" The voice of Xenon chided omnipotentedly "how pathetic." Xenon's own mind thought internally 'He won't be able to last much longer... I relinquish it when his mind enters shock...he won't be able move unassisted...let alone fight. That will be enough.'

(Just remember to put that in every post)
Raine rolled on the floor, his blades digging into the blackness. His tears had stopped, but his brow still quivered and the small boy was hyperventilating on the floor. "I can save them. I can-" the soft harmonica filled his ears. Shuddering down Raine felt his eyes burn once more. It was too much. The one thing he was so broken over. Hatchi's abandoning him to the Taki ninja.
"Hatchi-sensai. I tried. He hit me so hard. I tried to fight! He broke me so badly!" The small boy flung up, his hardened gaze on the Man. A man he hadn't seen in years, the features flawless just as he had remembered him. There was no happiness in his face. Hatchi was always happy, always smiling.
"You know, adventure, battles, plot, women, it's all lying out there." With that, he stood back up. "We're going on a mission to all the villages Raine! Do you want to come?!"
"Not you Hatchi-sensei. You're not this way!!!!" he stood and looked to the blackness. The voice above him boomed in his ears and he screamed out. "AHHHH!!!!! XEN!!!!!" He shuddered back as Heisei approached him. "I'm not Pathetic! I'm NOT THE ONE HIDING! I'M NOT THE ONE AFRAID TO FIGHT! AFRAID TO DIE!" He whirled around hysterically, His blade clawing at the blackness. "Xen, You have a fear!" He yelled into his own mind, far up and away. "You are the one who will let people did for you! COWARD! YOU ARE THE ONE WHO FEARS THE MOST!!!!"

Xen's eyes shot wide.
I'm NOT THE ONE HIDING!
Xen, You have a fear!
You are the one who will let people die for you! COWARD! YOU ARE THE ONE WHO FEARS THE MOST!!!!
Xen's mind seemed to freeze and the illusion froze with him, stillness filling every aspect of the nightmare. "Fear...? I-"
Suddenly the vision twisted from Raine's nightmare...another scene was consuming Xen's mind, and thus the projection. Indeed though, it didn't seem like he even noticed Raine wasstill there...
His father stood outside the house, blocking the building with outstretched arms. He was trying to stop the crowd, trying to reason with them, trying to make them understand, trying to make them show mercy...but none seemed interested, especially the parents of Shinji. The Mob was only still kept at bay by the fact it was Doctor Maboroshi speaking to them, but even he who helped many in the village could only hold them for so long. They had murder in their eyes...
His mother put her arms on his shoulders and asked again "What happened? Xen I know you would never-"
Suddenly...it happened. Xenon the elder could feel it happen, he looked out the window and saw his father fall, a pitch fork through his stomach.
"DAISUKE!!"
"He was a naive fool... he trusted them like I did...like I trusted that boy not to say anything when I spared him...I'd not meant to use an Illusion...but people lie...people are afraid... but...me? Am I afraid? No..." Again Xenon's somehow frantically rambling mind shifted the scene again.
His Mother stopped and looked at him, her face determined "Xen, go..."
He looked at her. "Wha-"
She turned back in the way of the pursuers. "Run...they won't follow you."
Xenon looked at her shocked again for a moment...until finally...it happened. "This...," Xen grit his teeth. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!" His mother looked back at him her face almost...hurt. "If it weren't for all those stupid ideas about...mercy and...justice...that's a bunch of LIES!" Tears were forming in his eyes "If I hadn't had spared that boy, if I'd just killed him too...none of this would've happened!!" His mother's face seemed to fade into a sad muse.
"I knew..." He muttered "I knew it was all an illusion but I believed you...I wanted to believe you..." he looked at her...suddenly...emotionless "But now this happens...Dad's dead, and now you have the gut's to just walk off and die for me too...?" he faced the other direction. "I don't hate those villagers...they did exactly what I expected them to...they're just scared, they're just selfish... who can blame them for that..." he looked back at her side long "Well from now on I'm never going to bother with that nonsense again...I'm never going to feel pain like this again...I won't believe in your illusions, I'll see through everything, I'll look out for myself and MY interests and the rest of the world can have the same privilege."
"I left behind fear that day...I fear nothing...especially death. I-" then his memory sparked a new vision...the final vision. It was only a glimpse, lasting but a mere series of seconds. It was the same thing Xenon had seen when he'd used this very jutsu on himself.
There they stood around him, Xen himself chained and helpless... Kimiko, his Mother, his father, Mokutan, it seemed that even Saijo, and strange cloaked figure, and a fuzzy image had joined them. There was a single moment of stillness...before each of seemed decapitated by some invisible blade, there blood splashing across the ground...
The Genjutsu shattered.
Xenon stood still, his eyes wide and entire body frozen, he didn't seem aware of his surroundings...he looked almost catatonic as stood there, completely immobile...

Raine huddled close to a wall. Dreading the thought of what he would see next. Had he angered Xen? Could he possibly do something more! Faces appeared in the blackness but none he knew. The boy huddled behind a window frame his hands clasped around his shoulders as he shook, his eyes flickering around the scene. It was a lot to take in, but for a second he stopped. His head turning as recognition hit him. "Xen?" he whispered to himself, still dizzy and disoriented. He had felt this way before, somewhere he couldn't remember.*
Raine's attention turned to the action in the street. A whole mob, he shook his head his arms spasming. What was going on! He struggled to understand, silently he watched as the man in front of him was murdered. There was no response, after watching Heisei die, how could there be?
A voice spun around him, the small boy whipped around to the conversation. Huddling back, horrified to even be near the boy. His blades still on his fingers shaking as he watched. The words wrong in his ears, but he could not fully grasp them as he sat shaking and flinching. Adrenaline bursting like fire in his veins.
I won't believe in your illusions.
Raine tried to listen, tried to understand. He knew little of what these words would mean to him later. The blackness enclosed around him and a knew scene unfolded. He backed away again. Kimiko... the man and woman from before, countless others. Then Xen, chained like an animal, or maybe a prisoner. Raine let his hands come undone around him, Holding up the Aian Nakkurru if he should need to defend himself, alas, he was not the one that needed defending. Their heads sliced, blood in that wicked florescent horror rolled out. The small boy felt his stomach roll. "Stop this."
Light burst around him, his knees cool in the sand. Simply kneeling in front of Xen. Raine burst into deep breaths, falling to the sand, his finger mixing with the tiny grains. He layed on the ground for a second, hyperventilating. Wide-eyed he saw Xen. Dread and anger filled him.
Dash's eyebrow rose above his sunglasses. "I wonder what went wrong." he whispered to himself.
"YOU b*****d!" The Tekkenseisai growled. His brothers blood flashing in his mind. "AH!!! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO HIM!" He roared, picking himself off the ground. He stumbled forward and fell once more, blind rage and fear pulling at him like gravity. Wiggling on the ground he saw it. Like a perfect golden pot before him, the stone stood in it's glory. The right size, weight, density. Raine clawed at the grass beyond the sand pit. Slowly he found his finger tips on it, the Aian Nakkurru keeping them from spreading. Slowly he found his feet and lifted himself. His small chest heaving, as his fingers clutched the jagged stone. "AHH!" he cried out with the effort. Unaware of what he was really doing, and the effects it would have, he tossed the stone into the air.
"Kimiko, get back!" Dash jumped back quickly grappling the girl hopping out of range of jutsu.
Raine smashed forward, his arm shattering the rock. Hundreds of tiny slivers and large spike-like fragments flying off in every direction. They showed over him and cut into his hardened flesh, Blood oozing out onto his sweatshirt. He smiled none-the-less. The glorious explosion giving him the relief of rage that he needed.
*Hatchi Saga, Raine's bought with Nakamura's genjutsu

(I'm not)
Kimiko looked in sudden shock as Dash grabbed her and took her out of harms way. what had happened. She'd seen Raine get caught In Maboroshi's Genjutsu...then they'd just been standing there...but what had happened?
Xenon's presence of mind came back a mere second before the rocks slammed into him, barely able to get out a "Huh?" before they caught him. Smashing him back his feet literally left the ground before he landed hard on his back. He let out a grunt of pain. wincing slightly as he reached up to check on his glasses. They were still in tact it seemed, if a bit dusty. Still...whether they were in tact or not... he'd lost his guard.
He frowned deeply, ignoring the pain as he lay on his back. He'd let Raine's words effect him...he'd lost the focus of the Genjutsu...unforgivable... he'd failed utterly. How could he have let himself lose control like that... Raine had seen into his thoughts...his memories...hopefully he wasn't in any shape to make sense of them. Which, though Xenon hadn't finished the Genjutsu, was probably true enough. The fact Raine could have still attacked at all was impressive all on it's own.
What had caused him to ...to lose control like that? The Face of Kimiko as she died flashed in his head and he winced as though it had been a physical blow. Damn it... no...no it was impossible. He already knew his fear was to be helpless...the image of his toy dying shouldn't have affected him so. The death of his father...the death of his mother... he could watch them over and over and accept them as they were. He forgave those responsible and accepted it as past.
But that last Image... why was the image of that naive girl dying so hard to bare!? She amused him...but her death should not bother him so...annoy him perhaps...but not hurt him. He resolved to never feel this pain again... could he have possibly... he grit his teeth.
Could that girl possibly have reached him with all her nonsense? Did he consider her his...friend? He still showed no signs of moving. He remained entirely still as he closed his eyes pensively. No...no he wasn't strong enough for this yet...he wasn't strong enough to care for others again...it was too soon. 'Damn it all...' he grit his teeth in frustration.

Dash laughed up on the roof. "Now that's entertainment." he let his hand come up and come through his hair. "I know you are having such a great time fighting each other, but It's gone quite far enough." he turned his head to Kimiko, "You're turn to fight again." he smiled behind the orange glasses and stuck his hands in his pocket looking out into the forest. So our prodigal son, has a weakness. His eye dropped to Raine. Fuming and blabbering, obviously effect of the genjutsu. He sighed, that would take a while to heal.

Kimiko looked at her two teammates in surprise, then at her Sensei "But... iit's not right to fight Raine when he's so weak after that fight! I mean..." she still felt the trembling side effects of her own bout with Maboroshi's Genjutsu "I know that I'm not in top condition either..." she looked back to the field below, noting Raine's temper. "But Raine seems more hurt by it than I am... shouldn't we at least give a chance to rest and calm down first?"
Xenon heard Dash call the match and opened his eyes, leaning up he got his feet, dusting himself off. He didn't even seem to be acknowledging his injuries now, though they pained him still. He seemed more pensive then anything else, and his loss meant next to nothing to him now. He turned away from Raine and started walking out of the ring.
Upon hearing Raine, though, he turned his attention back him, giving him a subtly perplexed look. "Didn't you hear me before I began? It wasn't personal. Besides," he looked ahead "That Genjutsu draws upon the opponents mind to produce the images...all I really do is play cheer leader...coaxing the vision along. Until the end, all the images were coming from your mind, not mine. It was YOUR worst fear. So if you really want to blame someone for what happened to your brother...blame yourself, not me..." Even as he spoke his wounds began to heal, the faint glow of chakra surrounding them. A cut on his face left by one of the shards of rock vanished completely.
"But then...from that vision...it seems you already do." He shook his head. "How ironic." Xenon chuckled weakly, wincing as one of his wounds made itself known. "Honestly... if all the Tekkenseisai know is sacrifice...you'd think you'd know how to honor one wouldn't you? Even someone like me who despises sacrifice...can see that." he was silent for a moment. "Hm." he then started walking again, heading out of the sparing pit with a listless expression.

Raine fell to his knees, dust laying down around him and landing on his eyelashes, flashing through past tears. "You're a liar." he whispered to himself, unable to accept that it was he who had made those horrible things happen. The small boy barely listened, his mind was gone and he could only think of Heisei's face. His fingers came to his aching head and pushed specks of rock away. Honor sacrifice? he hung his head... that's what he had thought he was doing until now. The genjutsu.... Raine shook his head, thinking of drowning to death at Nakamuras hand. It was nothing compared to this.
