Brooklyn Elizabeth Madison --------------------------------------------------------------------- Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity. And I’ve been locked inside that house all the while you hold the key. And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me. And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go, promise I’m going because,
--------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooklyn rolled her eyes as Carlyle caught her hand. "I'm fiiiiine Mom." She paused at the last word, but it didn't last. She was moving up the stairs with Carl again in no time, straight to the top.
"Hm." She breathed out once they got to the top. She placed her hand on the railing to steady herself while Carlyle took a seat.
"I don't either." She looked at the wall that was further away from them now, down at the bottom of the room. "It makes zero sense."
Brook plopped down on his lap. "Yup. Seems pretty comfortable to me." She turned to the side, wrapping her arms around his neck for support. Their lips had that close proximity again and she felt herself biting on her bottom lip again.
Just before she was entirely too tempted to lean in and press her lips to his- A reeling noise echoed through the room, causing her to jump slightly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------- I gotta get outta here. Because I’m afraid that this complacency is something I can’t shake. I gotta get outta here. And I’m begging You, I’m begging You, I’m begging You to be my escape.

C a r l y l e .. H a n k .. O . ' H a r a Birds flying high.. you know how I feel. Sun in the sky... you know how I feel. Reeds drifting on by... you know how I feel. It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life... For me. And I'm feeling good. "Hm. You reckon this was made for people like us, once?" he asked, noticing that although unfamiliar, the furniture seemed remotely familiar, as though it was designed for them. Kind of.
Carl 'oofed' as she dropped down onto her lap, but his arms automatically rested themselves around her hips. "Oh. I'm glad you think so." he said, smirking. He knew it was probably just to support herself on him, but his goosebumps still stood on edge as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The gap between them got smaller again and Carl found himself biting on the inside of his lip.
A sudden sound shattered the silence, making Brook jump a little, and Carl reacting by holding onto her a little tighter. "What the ******** was that?!" he whispered, leaning over the armrest and looking down the aisle and towards the door they came in through, and then back at the door and window right next to them.

Carlyle's arms had tightened around her and she couldn't help but be slightly distracting by the feeling of his muscles holding her up.
But she shook her head, trying to figure out where the noise came from. She looked around, finally spotting a dimmed light above them, coming from a small hole in the wall too high for them to reach.
"What...What is that?" She squinted as the projector started to shine across the large room.

"Close your eyes Bite your tongue And pretend you never Saw the sun rise Or heard a song sung With wistful wonder" -Omg A Name- Kathrine Jean Johnson :.Kat.:Kat swallowed. Ok, she could do this. Just one night in this place... But then who knew where they'd be staying all the other nights??? Uuugh... there must be sooomething where all those lights were!
Kat took a deep breath and nodded. "Right..."
How was she supposed to fall asleep here? Hmm, well, she was exhausted... but there was no way she could sleep yet.
And at least her nose had finally stopped bleeding.. although, not before getting blood on Kyle's shirt from when he carried her.
"I wish there was more light... so we could at least see the place... like a switch or something..." A flash light would only do so much. "Oh thanks, it's fine really, I have a little food in my back too. And a little blanket. You should use that stuff yourself..." Which somehow, they hadn't lost in all that fuss.

He gave her arm a light rub before lifting her up a little and moving from underneath her. "I don't know.." he said standing up and picking up the lightsaber.
He turned and looked at where the light was being projected and on he wall that all the chairs were facing towards, the light made a white-ish rectangular shape, and it now looked more like a screen, or a window, or something.
Carl turned around and placed his ear against the door and could hear the reeling sound clearer, correctly concluding in his mind that the sound was coming from whatever the light creator projector thing was. He placed his hand on the door and gave it a push, causing it to swing open, letting rip a painful creaking sound that came with the motion. He tightened his grip on the prop and jumped into the room, yelling in an neanderthalic warrior type fashion.

Suddenly, a loud ripping noise echoed through the room and she jumped up, "Ahh," She screeched out, grabbing onto the chair she had been sitting in.
"Carl?" Then his voice rang out, something of a caveman yell. Brooklyn was looking up towards the light creator and she saw a head poking through the light. "Carlyle?! What are you doing?" She whisper-yelled.

Kyle Tanner Crawford Kyle pulled off his shirt and grabbed Kat's backpack. He sifted through it, pulling out some food and a bottle of water for the blonde. "Eat and Drink. Now." He handed it over to her.
"Yeah, it'd be nice." He stood back up and felt around the walls- doubting he'd find anything. And if he did, would it even work?
"We'll make it as comfortable as possible for the night. We should probably get up early and head out, before its entirely light out. I dunno how we'll find the others.." He sighed, letting his voice trail off.
They had made it right? They'd know if they hadn't...right? They would have heard something.. Kyle plopped back down by her and grabbed the blanket, it was pretty small. But it'd be enough for Kat to use at least.

It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life... For me. And I'm feeling good. Carl looked around the room, and there appeared to be nothing worthy of a scaring yell at all. Just a desk, a couple of chairs, stacks of circular container things all over the place, and the machine that was making the light go onto the big wall opposite. "Oh." was his only response to the anti-climatic atmosphere in the room.
"Check it out, there's no one here Brook," he said, stepping back into the doorway to look at the redhead. "Just a load of weird equipment stuff." he said, walking back into the room.
How did the machine suddenly turn on? Well. He didn't know. It didn't even cross the boy's mind.
Carl sat at the desk in front of the projector and eyed the array of multicolored buttons that were on it. Like a child, after only a second of hesitation, he pushed the big red button, causing the whirring to come to an immediate stop and the light to cut straight to black.
"Whoops." Caryle mumbled, fumbling with the other buttons, in an attempt to get the machine back on, but instead, made the reel rewind and play forward several times, causing the cylinder to spew the film strips of the footage out at him. Carl got out of the chair and to his feet, giving the machine a good hit with the lightsaber, which seemed to work, as everything stopped moving altogether.
"...Fixed it." he called back, keeping his eyes on the machine. All the noise coming from the front of the room, he hadn't even noticed the back of the room, which although was mostly blackened out by shadow, had a door leading to somewhere else.

"Equipment?" She finally made her way up there when he shut down the lights. Her heart stopped momentarily, she heard some clanging and stumbled towards him, on one foot of course. "Try not to break s**t."
She giggled, pushing herself to sit on the table near him. She could see the bits of film shooting out at him and started cracking up. Not near as much as before, but it was still pretty funny.
The lights clicked back on and she shook her head. "Fixed, right." Brook got to her feet, using the stuff around them to avoid putting weight on her hurt ankle.
She felt around in the pitch black, eventually finding a door knob. "Carl," She whispered, as if she had just found some secret.

He could barely see Brook in the shadows. And though he'd never admit it aloud, it was creeping him out enough to send his heart beating faster than it's usual panicked pace.
"Brook, what are you doing?!" he whisper shouted back. Waving the lightsaber as an indication and an attempted order for her to come back.
But, like every other order than Brook had even gotten in her life, it went unnoticed.
Carl stepped forward and grabbed her hand just as she was turning the door knob.
"Stay close." he whispered to her, stepping closer to her as he said it, knowing that it was better to get lost with her, then let her get lost alone.

She shot him a look. "Cause I'm doing so much running these days." Brooklyn pulled them inside the new room and looked around.
"What the hell is this place?" She looked back at Carlyle again, sntaching the saber from his hands and waving it around the area.

He shrugged his shoulders at her question and flicked a switch on the wall. Nothing. "I dunno." he replied, edging further into the room, leaving the door open until he found some sort of light.
From what he could see, it just looked like a storage room for a lot more boxes with more cylinders in. He walked over to an over sized cushion on the ground and kicked it with his foot. The beanbag did nothing to retaliate, so Carl deducted that it wasn't going to spew things out, or attack him in anyway. Crouching down, he fell back onto the beanbag and laughed at the feeling.
"Ahahaa! This cushion's insane!" he said, moving around on it, trying to get a comfortable spot.

She was flashing the lightsaber around and looking around. Brook jumped when she heard Carlyle laughing about how something was insane. She raised on eyebrow at him and couldn't help but smile at how cute he was.
Of course, they were both still a mess. But his hair was slightly tossled and he was giggling on some sort of cushion.
She wobbled over to him and looked down at the thing he was sitting on. "What is this?" She kicked it gently with her bad foot, wincing only slightly

"Close your eyes Bite your tongue And pretend you never Saw the sun rise Or heard a song sung With wistful wonder" -Omg A Name- Kathrine Jean Johnson :.Kat.:Kat took what he gave her, and had to feel it a bit to figure out exactly what they were. Well, the water was obvious, but she had brought more than enough food for one time... just not for very many times..
"Ooh ok now then" she said, mocking him, trying to lighten the mood a little, but she did do as told. She was really hungry once she thought about it.
She could hear Kyle moving around, and guessed he was trying to feel for a light... But to no avail so far.
"Yeah, your right, and I don't want to stay here any longer than we have to anyway... but we can make it work for the night." she added the last part to assure him she would be ok with it. She could do this. She just had to keep telling herself that. And hope that there really were better things where they were going, then where they were right now,and where they had been.
