Raquel smiled, turning to press for an old soup she knew he liked. As the kitchen was preparing their meals, she turned to Damian, looking him up and down. She laughed, her face red as she covered her mouth.
"Ah I'm sorry.... It's just so...surreal to see you....It'll take me some time to get used to it all again..." She smiled embarassed, leaning against the counter, bright green eyes locked onto his silver.
Usually his eyes captivated her with this mystery behind them. this arousing aloofness he always held except when he was intimate, when they were soft and so gentle. Thats how they were now... only filled with so much emotion Raquel couldn't help but blush. He had been through hell while she was gone. She could tell that just by the way he looked at her or held her...
Though theres was nothing to change it...she could however fix it now...

Damian looked back at her with all the warmth he could send through looking alone. How beautiful she still was... as if that could have changed. except for the scar upon her back, Raquel was much the same in body. In spirit, though, she was obviously troubled. It was like all that time it took for her to take one step forward, she took two steps back...
As they looked at each other, Damian smirked at her and crinkled his nose like she did sometimes. "Do you think I've grown thinner while you were away?"

Raquel smiled, trying to smirk back. "Hm...Well let's see..." She sauntered over, slipping her arms about his middle, letting her hands slide down to his hips as she pulled away slightly to examine his skinny, pale form.
"Huh...You have..." She noted curiously, furrowing her brow. "You know we'll have to fix that." She winked, her smile warm and loving as she let him to to get a better look at him. Even in only his boxers, he was utterly glorious in her eyes.
Just then, the timer beeped. "Ah...starting now.." She smiled, turning to retrieve the two bowls, feeling so...at home in nothing but his shirt. She took them out, placing the two hearty soups on the counter as she pulled back her hair to breath in the soup's aroma.
"Oh...What do you think of my hair? Its gotten a lot longer...I just never got the chance to even trim my bangs. They must look horrible and unruly..." She managed to laugh nervously as her cheeks turned red. She pushed back her bangs annoyingly, realizing how silly she must have seemed for bringing up hr hair in the middle of all this, but t was just a change that came to her as they sat there.

Damian took his bowl with a grateful kiss to her cheek. He would gain weight for her by eating all the soup in the kitchen if he had to...
From over his full spoon, Damian took a good look at her. "Hm..." he mumbled. "I think it looks... artistic. Swooped to the side, slightly unruly at the moment... yes, you look beautiful." He had to wonder how he looked. Skinny, yes, but his hair had not changed, and his face seemed haggard. Gentle, happy, but with dark circles under his eyes and paler than before.

Raquel smiled and blushed, deterring her eyes a bit. She knew she looked rather sickly really. Pale and thinner than him for sure.Though her face was now filled with a happy, healthy glow it lacked for some time now, she felt a little puny.
"I'm glad it's not too terrible then..." She smiled back up at him, taking a few spoonfuls of soup, before realizing how hungry she was. Though she had to stop herself form eating too fast.
"Huh..." She laughed. "Dejavu...it seems I'm back where I was so many years ago...when you brought me in." She swallowed a little, glancing up at him sadly. She wasn't sure if that were a good thing or bad...

"Let's try to keep things progressive, eh?" he said, suddenly finding that he, too, was ravenously hungry. "But first, you must eat all that soup. You understand? You're pale, you need healing strength. And you should have some bread, too. With butter. And a vitamin." As he thought more and more, Raquel needed clothing, too, but one thing at a time. "Tea, too, perhaps... whatever you can manage. You're a twig, dearest..."

Raquel laughed, shaking her head as she ate some more of her food. "Hm...Bread sounds lovely...but I'm afraid I'll over do it... I'm going to start out slow...You know I've never really had a large appetite." She shrugged, turning to order some fresh bread and tea for the two of them.
She remembered pretty clearly that Damian liked bergamot tea, which to her always had a very herbal yet refined taste. She herself preferred the ever strong ginger tea, though knew that'd be a bit too much for right now. So she settled for a nice herbal tea with a hint of lavender. It always calmed her nerves and made her body warm.

Without even being reminded, Raquel chose his favorite tea, though it wasn't until he was handed the mug that Damian really understood just how much that meant. "You remembered," he whispered, and looked up to her with a sad little smile. "Something so simple, but you haven't missed a beat..."

Raquel smiled sadly in return, placing hr own mug down so she could reach up and touch his face sweetly. "Baby..." She whispered back. "It was those small little things that kept me alive...Kept me from giving up... I wanted to sit and sip tea with you... I wanted to go walking out in the gardens... Read excerpts to each other from our favorite books in the library... " She smiled, letting her hand fall from his face, as she picked up her tea again. "I just thought of you and what makes you ...you..." She smiled distantly into her tea before taking a sip slowly.

Raquel took up her tea, but Damian placed his down again. He needed to take her into his arms and hold her after that. It seemed time had robbed Damian of the right words or of any way of expressing himself clearly, though he still tried.
"Darling," he stammered. "Every little thing that reminded me of you, I saved. Everything except your clothing. the rings around my neck, the pegasus I had made for you... I even went to visit the old horse in person, just to come close to you once more."

Raquel pushed his hair away from his face carefully, looking at his poor worn face in detail. He had obviously cried many times in this past year. She leaned up and kissed under his eyes, as if trying to heal the pain of every individual tear that had fallen from his beautiful eyes.
Her own grew misty as she tenderly kissed his face. "I'm sorry love...God how I love you...I love you..." She kept whispering.

Damian whispered his response as well, and kissed her lips every time he could catch them. The soup, the tea, everything could wait for just a few more minutes as they indulged themselves in kisses they had been missing for far too long.

Raquel tried as hard as she could to keep herself getting worked up again. She slowly, gently eased out of the kisses, looking up at her love, trying to keep from crying. "...I dont think I ever told you how beautiful you are...s a person...as my Damian..." She whispered to him, just touching his hair and face again.

"Yes you did. You did many, many times and I took it all to heart." It was a comfort he had while she was away, that she did think he was doing everything right when it came to her, save for what they had tried so hard to fix. "I feel like I never told you enough times how wonderful you are," he whispered back. "I feel like there was so much I just... didn't do."

Raquel couldn't help but smile, closing her eyes momentarily. "You did so much more than enough... But now we have all the time we need to do the things you think we didn't do...or even do some things again..." She laughed, slipping her arms around his waist for a hug.
