Rory stood up, rubbing Lee's shoulder affectionately. "I'll be sure t' tell you." He wouldn't, though. He'd never tell her there were ghosts near. He took her hand in his, giving it a small kiss to the back before leading her toward the hamburger vendor he'd had in mind. "Yeah, I'm plenty hungry. Need my strength up fae work."

Lee gave Rory a warm smile as he kissed her hand, and it didn't manage to fade, even as they began walking. It only hit her just then that telling her what he did was probably very difficult, that he must like her an awful lot to risk giving away that secret. Her face softened, and she squeezed Rory's hand tighter as they walked. He'd thought she'd leave if he told her, but just the opposite had happened. She liked him even more.

Rory found a spot for them to sit and motioned her to go there to hold their places while he went and ordered for them, getting veggies and whatnot on the side so Lee could make her burger however she wanted. After paying for the food, he carried it over to where the girl was sitting and put a paper plate in front of her along with a paper carton of sweet potato fries and the side of veggies plus packets of condiments. He plunked down across from her with his own meal and started fixing his hamburger up the way he liked.

Lee sat where Rory motioned, giving him a guilty smile after he returned. "I gotta pay you back for all this..." He was always spending money on her, and for once she felt bad for being somewhat of a sponge. Watching him make his burger, she looked down at her own, putting whatever vegetables and condiments on hers as he did. She didn't know what tasted best, so may as well copy Rory.

"Donnae hae t' pay me fae anythin'," Rory said, looking up at her with a soft smile. "Boys are supposed t' pay on dates, yeah?"

"Doesn't mean I shouldn't buy you a gift or something... Anything you want?" She'd be getting a job soon (hopefully) and wanted to show her appreciation. He'd gotten her a gift, after all. Lee bit into her burger, very much enjoying the taste of more than just a patty and bread as she'd eaten before.

Lee wanted to protest a bit but got the feeling he wasn't wanting to talk at the moment. So quiet... She'd have to get used to eating in silence, it seemed. Working on finishing her own food, her mind wandered as she absently looked into the crowd around her.

The boy looked up at her over his burger and stretched a leg out to tap her foot with his own. He might have been quiet during meals, but he was still there, still enjoying her company.

Her mind had managed to wander to the twins that would be coming home soon. Turning her attention to Rory once more, Lee attempted to smile, though had a difficult time with it with food in her mouth. After she finished her bite, she looked back into the crowd before asking, "Do you like kids?" While it may not have sounded like it, it was meant to be a harmless question, and she was just asking for the sake of asking.

"Sure," Rory said after swallowing a bite of hamburger. "Who doesnae like 'em? Hope t' hae a few o' me own one day." He watched her, tilting his head a little. "You askin' for any reason in particular?"

Yeah, she was expecting that answer. Men here seemed to view children differently than those outside of Farstep, or at least the ones she'd met. His rhetorical question, though, made her sulk a bit in her seat. Who doesn't like them? Lee. "Just thinking about the twins, I guess..." She looked down at her burger, not so hungry anymore.

"Feels kinda like bein' an auntie, eh?" Rory asked, finishing off his burger and fries. He pulled a pocket watch out and looked at it. "Tch. I gotta get t' work. You're comin', too, yeah?"

Lee just blinked, looking at Rory as if "auntie" was a foreign term to her. When it described her, it almost was. As Rory looked at his watch, Lee tried to finish off the rest of her fries as fast as she could, pausing at his question. "... You want me to?"

"Well, yeah. Thought you might wanna see what I do fae a livin'," Rory chuckled. "An' it gi's you a chance t' see if'n you wanna work out there, too." He stood up, collecting the trash, then carried it to the bins nearby.
