Shu heard a familiar voice call out to her, she turned and saw Nu Suo. Her face reddened and she walked over to him, he seemed to have been drinking a bit. "Hello, have you been here the whole time?" She asked him.

"So I have!" He took another swig, then put down the gourd. "I suppose we should ride off. Chieftain, thanks for the drink and for your contribution to my council. We will look over the young girl." He winked at Shu. "Now, where'd I put my horse?"

"I am deeply honored to have made a friend in such a short time,"Yue bowed with a smile.

""She's not so much a troublemaker exactly, but she will do everything she can to get her way. She can be strangely cruel with thinly veild insults and occasional treats. But she hides it well in front of those who are able to further her standing." Yue let out a tired sigh.

"The only reason grandmother caught her was because she walked in on something involving my mother and myself. And so she was sent away."

Yue only hoped now that sending Jen wouldn't burn bridges between herself and the Nu, and that Yue herself wouldn't be forced to take her place. that would be rather horrible.

Fa thought for a few moments on the character of Jen.

"She seems dishonorable." She began darkly, "But I believe Nu Sou will see through her. I can at least warn Nu Sook Young. She is a smart woman and loyal to Nu Sou. I am sure together we can make sure Nu Sou remains unfooled... or at least, unscathed." She gave a slight bow of her head, "Thank you for this information. It will aid Sou greatly. I am sure when Nu Sou becomes aware of the situation, her actions will not reflect on you."

Turning to eye the blushing horizen she spoke again, "I believe the water mystic had returned to the village, I did not see him here. Perhaps, we should join them, as well?"

"I hope you are right," Yue replied. I all else failed Yue would remove Jen herself and allow her cousin to start a pure life. "The villiage sounds nice, to be near a fire and get some actual food. Men are such barbarians, two weeks eating nothing but gruel with no bath or fire." Yue was unaware of her tone as she began speaking, what her grandmother always called Yue's chieftain tone.

Fa gave a little smirk, she had to agree with Yue on that one, "No matter how dusty, dirty, or unfed you might be, I do not believe anyone would ever mistake you for anything but a woman of high birth."

Then she turned and began the walk back to the village, "I am sure we can find you something proper to eat. Do you know much about the Sing tribe?"

Technically speaking both of Yue's parents were of high birth. But Yue laughed before speaking on the Sing tribe.

"I don't know much of their culture, save that they are patriarchal. I do know it takes less medicine to heal them, and that they heal faster than normal." She was walking beside Fa now, again digging under her nails as she was like to do when nervous. "That's exceptionally well for the Jin Lian, it lowers the risk of pregnancy considerably." As a matter of fact, they'd just gotten one of their healers back from the Sing.

"I see." Fa said darkly, a breif flash of something dangerous flicking in her eyes before she returned to "Ka Shu Fa, Adviser to Nu Sou", "They have only recently turned from their nomadic ways. Perhaps with Nu Sou's influence, they will turn their back on those ways as well. If they are anything like Sing Shu, they will have a bright and good future ahead of them, as a good and loyal people."

Fa had learned -- the hard way -- that one associated with Nu Sou is always speaking on his behalf. The habit had become second nature by now.

"The Jin Lian are used to their healers coming home with children," Yue laughed without emotion. "I myself am one of those children. My mother was taking care of an illness spreading amongst the Xin Xu. My father was the chiefs son, but mother refused to stay. I was three before I actually saw Jin Lian land for the first time."

Yue hadn't had many friends back home (one to be exact) and everyone knew of her history. It was incredibly hard for her to speak of her past, but she felt as though Fa could be trusted implicitly. Something about the way she carried herself and behaved.

((Well, my own issues with posting aside, Ris is also having computer issues. We'll assume she's on a horse and preparing for her trek back))

Nu Sou jumped upon his horse with a strange amount of finesse for a drunk man. "Chieftain and people of the Sing, it's been a pleasure. I've known few tribes with such strong drink, and I hope to come again and relive this experience. Now where are those two ladies?"

((I like that plan. Additionally, I'd like to change my age to fifteen or so if thats okay.))

"We're right here," Yue commented as she strode forward beside Fa, pink silk moving in a light breeze. She glanced at the enormous animal before her. A horse...they were impractical in Jin Lian land, there were too many mountains and streams and too much muck. As such, she had no idea how to ride a horse and the last time she'd been on one had been years ago with her father.

"Uhm...we aren't really riding back are we?" A horse nickered and swung it's head towards her, making her step back.

((Have to be at least 20. Sorry. He wouldn't take anyone younger. Also, if your tribe isn't use to horse back, it's because they don't have any, which is very reasonable. All of the tribes live in the area of the plains with large but gentle slopes. I should have a map ready in a couple days.))

Nu Sou smiled, "From the Jin Lian clan, and you've issues mounting and riding a beast? For shame." He winked, "If you want to be a part of my retinue, I highly suggest getting use to it. We're only trotting, so you should be able learn a bit."

((It would have been nice to know about the lack of mountains sooner. can he still live where there's lot of water at least? Also, sorry about randomly coming up with a tribe to be my fathers. Would I need to create a backstory for them? I was just thinking about my char hooking up with the son. That sort of an age gap you know?))

Yue huffed at the innuendo. How dare he! And assuming she was just going to join his little entourage? She crossed her rms and glared at the horse. Stupid horse. It nickered again and she glowered even more.

"Isn't there anything smaller?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:47 am

"Smaller? My lap's smaller." He started walking ahead, "Come on now, stop being such a little girl. The Nu tribe is waiting on us. I need to get back to Cao Mai and my people." He yawned and cracked his neck. "Or you can stay with the Sing. I'm sure they'd love to add a pretty little thing like you to their fine little settlement."

No man could be so crude on a regular basis, it just wasn't possible. Stay here indeed! She was the next headwoman of her tribe, not some baby making harlot. She added to her tribe, not the other way around. Back to Cao Mai indeed, the wench seemed to be nothing but trouble. A vague inkling in the back of Yue's mind told her Jen was involved with the situation between the prince and the concubine.

"Fa, would you be so kind as to allow me to ride with you?" She asked politely, sweetly, silently begging in the back of her mind.
