Rhian was nowhere near as enthused as Lauss about going to school, so she returned the hug more than a little halfheartedly, and only picked at her food after that. She was hardly pleased, but if this was what she had to do, then well, she had to do it. And it wuld keep her out of the way then, wouldn't it? At least she'd get to be with Lauss-teacher. "You'll stay with me, won't you, Lauss-teacher?"
Ellandra laughed. "That and Keagan and I keep you from getting at the twinkie dogs very often any more." She noticed Rhian's discomfort, but felt that school would be good for the flutterby, and was silent on the subject.

Lee smiled, wishing she weren't so shy that she couldn't kiss him in front of everyone. "What about walking me home?" She was glad Rhian seemed preoccupied; she wouldn't want the essentic seeing her being "soft" for some reason.
Lauss' muffled voice was clear after he backed away from Rhian. "Yes. And if Rhi needs help, I will be there." He wanted her to want to go, but would settle for hoping she'd have fun when she actually got there. Hugging her once again, simply because he wanted to, he spoke to Rory now. "May we start when the weekend is finished?" As Ziazan entered the room, Lauss planted a quick kiss on Rhian's cheek before standing and announcing joyously, "We'll be going to school, Ziazan." Surely it would be as happy as he was.

"Aye, lass. T' school, t' home, t' th' ends o' th' world," Rory chuckled, stroking Lee's cheek. "Where'er you need t' gae, I'll walk wi' you, girl."
Zia arched a brow in its usual "wtf?" look and looked at Faolan. The young man shrugged in answer to the Essentic's unanswered question and Zia just sighed. "Well, it's about time."

Rhian blinked as Lauss hugged and kiised her completely of his own choice, then stood up to make his announcement. Well, she may not like the idea of school, but Lauss-teacher was so happy about the idea. . . and she'd be getting to spend time with him. So maybe that could make it worth it. "I guess I'll go. . . ."

"Tha's th' spirit, lass," Faolan said, giving her an encouraging smile. "You might make some new friends an' actually hae fun, too."
Zia went over and hopped on the couch next to Faolan, tackling the man's side. "Maybe we can ask Elst if he wants Aoi to come, too, since we can hide in plain sight here."
"Well, tha'll be up t' Elst, but I donnae see th' harm in askin'," the man replied, ruffling his Essentic's hair.

Blushing deep, Lee was embarrassed at how intimate the conversation had gotten when others were around -- intimate for Lee, anyway. Still, she smiled back at him before looking into her lap. If only she could get herself to kiss him in the presence of others. She picked up a fry and nibbled on it. She'd get plenty of time to kiss him when they went to put up the hammock.
Lauss was slightly surprised to see that Ziazan wasn't upset, and actually somewhat expecting it. Of course, that was a good thing. He wouldn't be the only one excited for the first day, whenever it came around. Sitting back in his chair, he leaned closer to Rhian, smiling back at her less-than-enthusiastic face. "Faolan is right, Rhi. It will be fun." It hadn't occurred to him, but this was likely the first time he'd ever consciously tried to cheer someone up, or even recognized that he should try. In fact, when he'd kissed her before, that was the first time he'd kissed for reasons other than "practicing".

Rhian nodded, though she didn't believe Lauss in the least. School wasn't going to be fun for her - it was all sitting down and concentrating and listenign and reading and - and - and so many boring things! She could ner hold her attention on something for so long, not like that. The flutterby did appreciate the tutor's attempts to cheer her up, hwever - it said a lot fr how his emotions were coming along, really. She could also feel the emotions Miss Lee and this Mister Rory were leaking everywhere, and was doing er best to ignore them - not an easy thing to do, those emotions were pretty powerful.
Meanwhile, Ellandra sat with Faolan, quietly watching all of the goings on, worry rising in her eyes for how upset Rhian seemed by this entire school idea.

Zia was thrilled with the entire prospect of school. It gave the Essentic a chance to observe some of its friends in a different environment.
Rory looked at Rhian. "Why donnae you like th' idea o' school, girl? It's not a bad place t' gae."

Lauss sat back, a slightly disappointed look on his face. Rhian wasn't happy; how could he be happy? Looking from Rory to Rhian, he hoped the young man would be able to cheer the girl up a bit.

Rhian nibbled on a sweet potato for long time before she finally answered. "I don't focus on stuff," she said, focusing on her fries instead of anyone's face, though her free hand sought out Lauss' for reassurance. She just. . . was far from confident about this entire "school thing". She knew more than a human of her actual age would know, but not anywhere near enough for the human age she resembled. "And it's scary," she murmured under her breath, squeezing Lauss' hand a bit tighter.

Zia looked at its sister, not really getting what the hang-up about school was. It was exciting and a chance to interact with other humans. It went over and leaned against Rhian a bit. "It'll be fun, though. Just think--you can get new clothes and there's all sorts of influences you could get and things to learn. Might help you learn stuff about your abilities."

Lee looked nervously to Zia and Rhian, noting that they were discussing influences and abilities. While that didn't really confirm they were essentics, she was still worried that the conversation might turn into something that would give Rory that impression. Panicking a bit, Lee stood from her seat, looking down at Rory. "W-we should go work on that hammock, yeah?"
Lauss cringed at Rhian's squeeze, his hand shaking a bit from the pain it was causing in his wrist. Even the slightest of movements felt like needles stabbing into his nerves. "I can help Rhi with her school work. And when you get scared you can... R-Rhi, that hurts..." He didn't mean to dismiss her feelings, nor did he want her to feel bad, but... ouch.

Rhian nodded halfheartedly in response to Ziazan's enthusiasm, and when faced with Lauss stated it hurt caused her to drop Lauss' hand like a hot potato, and she gasped, this time taking his arm from the elbow and looking at his hand. "This is the hand you hurt before," she said, speaking far more seriously than her personality usually lent itself too. Eyes widening, she looked over to Ziazan. "Sibling-Ziazan?" She asked, hoping her older sibling would know what she was asking and help out poor Lauss-teacher, who was hurting so badly.

Rory nodded. "Sure, lass. W' can gae set th' hammock up." He smiled a bit impishly, even though he was blushing. "Can e'en try it out if'n you'd like."
Zia peered at Lauss' wrist when presented with it. "Did you hurt your wrist Lauss? When?" It laid a hand on the other's wrist and it's usually bright eyes went dark. "He did it, didn't he? I knew he was trouble. Not enough to almost kill me, but now he's gotten you lame as well."

"Yeah, sounds good, let's go." Lee looked back at the essentics nervously before pulling Rory up and basically dragging him out of the vardo, the suggestion behind his words going right over her head. She hoped he didn't think she was a freak, even if she was acting like one. Pulling him through her door, she calmed a bit. Scratching her head, she looked up at him. "I, um... I dunno where it is. Faolan says there's one in here somewhere, though..."
As Rhian dropped his wrist, his entire arm fell, hitting against the chair and sending another wave of pain through his arm. He winced when she lifted it again before turning to Ziazan. "He? The hunters did this to me." Wait, lame? Lauss sunk a bit in his seat, misunderstanding the other essentic.
