Nat smiled, shaking his head as he looked down. "No...to a girl. With a smile brighter than the suns, and a temper just as fiery." He raised his own glass to clink against hers.

Teagan blushed and laughed at that. After all the talk of Raquel, he must have been just teasing her. It was the only reasonable answer she had to it all.
The one glass of wine turned into two, then three, and then four. The pizza was gone, and so were any hard feelings Teagan had ever harbored against Nat. She was rolling with laughter at jokes and stories, returning the entertainment with her own words, and just acting like a total goof. The temper was no where to be seen. "Y-you know," she slurred. "I... I really like havin' y'all 'round. Yer good, Natty, v'ry v'ry good..."

Nat wasn't as far gone as Teagan was in the wine, but he had just enough to make him a little hazzy and a bit louder than normal. "Well, I'm glad you feel that way lil miss... I must say- I said I must say I've takin' a liking to ya as well!" He gave her a wink before reaching out to move some of her dark hair away form her face before giving her a big grin.

In the wine's comfort, Teagan liked his touch upon her face. She enjoyed the way he smiled at her, and spoke like her. She sloppily raised her hand to the one brushing her hair away and held it there as she smiled like an idiot. "Even when I've been s'mean to you? An' made you feel small?"

Nat closed his eyes a moment, shaking his head. "...Can I as' you one favor Teagan?" He asked, looking back into her eyes, planning on showing her what he meant by his following action. "Can I ... Kiss you?" He requested, pulling her a bit closer, as well as bringing himself closer to her as well, eyes half closed, lips parted and hungering for hers.

After she'd just been sick, after all the talks they'd had, alcohol cleared it. Teagan nodded and moved forward to catch his lips in hers, and kissed him in the most coordinated way she could muster. It'd been awhile since she'd kissed anyone, and her addled mind rather liked the sensation again.

Nat smiled mid kiss but returned with eyes closed and hand still on her cheek. He didn't want to stop. It had been awhile too, since he had last been kissed. IT was probably with Raquel ,when he forced himself upon her at the bar. It was rough and passionate, nothing like this sweet thing here. But Raquel didn't like it. Hell, she didn't like him. But that didn't seem to matter for the moment.

After a few minutes, Teagan began to come to her senses a bit. It was sweet and tender, but that wasn't enough for her to keep on going with it. Not when her memories of him were coming back clearer than before. She broke away with a small, "Nat, hang on..." and put her hand on his chest. She knew the heart underneath was broken, and that there was a good chance this was just him using her. Then why didn't she mind so much?
"Nat," Teagan said again, this time looking him right in the eye. "Does this mean anything? Right now? Or are we just..." Are we just hurting enough that we needed some extra comfort?

Nat was just a tad breathless when she pulled away, his hand on her face falling over to hers on his chest. His heart was beating a bit faster than normal as he looked up at her, eyes soft and fuzzy, lips still parted and begging for one more.
But with her question, his lips closed and he returned her gaze. Her beautiful stormy eyes that just captivated him, caressing his broken heart one moment, yet reprimanding him the next. He loved that.
He tried to find an answer for her, though instead of speaking, his gaze dropped. "I should-....I should go..." He cleared his throat, taking her hand up form his chest and bringing it to his lips, kissing it so tenderly before standing. He was a bit shaky but he could walk home. "It s-seems I may have overstayed my welcome..." His face was blood red and he couldn't look her back in the eye.
Nat had always had a keen sense of timing about him, in that he had a way of excusing himself form situations, ecspecially tense ones, at just the right moment. Teagan had witnessed this many times already in her short period of knowing him. But this time, he was leaving, not because he didn't have an answer, but because he did. And he wasn't sharing it for the reasons Teagan might think so, but for another. His own he refused to say...

"Nat..." As he turned to leave, Teagan rose from her chair in pursuit. Maybe she wasn't in love, and maybe this was a situation common sense would have told her to let go of, but her feet were moving faster than her mind could as her heart acted for her. She caught his wrist just as he moved through the door frame of the kitchen. With that small catch, she felt like she should have said something amazing, something to make them both feel better about what it was they needed or wanted from the other. But all she could find it in her to say was, "Thank you."

His whole body tingled form that one touch as he stopped in his tracks. He turned slightly, then more fully to look at her for a moment. He said nothing at first, then just barely, he smiled, looking down. He leaned forward, letting his lips brush agaisnt her cheek for a quick kiss. "No...thank you..." He whispered near her ear before pulling back again, turning without looking at her, afraid she'd see that his eyes were misting up and his face was pink.
"..Goodnight Teagan..." He added softly, heading towards the front door.

There was nothing else to say. Teagan was blushing. the wine was leaving her, and the feeling of sickness was coming back in an entirely new way. This time, her heart ached along with her muscles and sore head. She wanted to race outside and ask him if he'd come back the next day, or ever again, but she knew he was still watching the house for Richard. Nat wouldn't leave altogether. And they did still have the deal of a date together...
But after that moment they shared, was any of that still valid? There were too many questions, and Teagan had no answers.

---
The next day, Teagan did feel better. It had been a twenty four hour bug that had taken her down, but not out. Of course she didn't feel completely better, but it wasn't enough to keep her inside. Not when thoughts of Nat's kisses were ricocheting inside her skull at every turn.
After rising to deal with delivery men and other pick-ups, Teagan had enough time to safely close up shop and get dressed for the day ahead. She wore a cream dress that came to her knees, with a black band that hugged under her chest. With nice black shoes and her hair half pulled back, Teagan looked quite nice. Now all there was to do was get to the other house and put her plan into action.
Because, there was just one answer to all her questions that satisfied her: What did it matter? She would be stupid to simply let him go.

---------------
After a pretty quiet ride through the crisp, country night air, the two finally found there way to Teagan's home. Nat stopped at the gate, letting her hop off, leaning his bike against the fence. He came up to her a little bit into the garden stopping to take hold of her hands and look her in the eyes. "I wanted to thank you... I haven't had such a wonderful evening in a long time..." He gave her an honest, gnetle smile. "Nor have I felt this way in awhile..." His smile faded slightly as his eyes deterred from hers embarassed.

Teagan gave a little laugh and shrug as they stood there in the dark. "It's been awhile for me, too. A bit too long, I think." When his eyes managed to look at her again, Teagan leaned forward to kiss him sweetly. Just one kiss.
"So where do we take it from here? How much do we want to hang on to this?"
