She had fooled herself into thinking that it would be different with Gavin than it was with any other vampire at court; that he would see past her title. A single tear slid down her fair cheek as she was plunged into reality and lost the magic of the night. Pulling back she composed herself and placed her hands neatly in her lap. "I understand if you wouldn't want to continue where we left off, please don't feel obligated to because of my name. It was lovely to have met you Sir Gavin Ezekiel Wingate." Solemnly she rose from the bench, curtsied and turned to leave all the while still hoping he would stop her. Gavin's head snapped up. Damn his adherence to the intricacies of the court! He stood and whirled, his cap whicking about his heels, and reached quickly for her hand, gently bringing her flight up short. "Milady.. Wait, I- I do wish to continue. I want to know the real you in every facet imaginable! Forgive my zeal for protocol; but I am but a scholar and you are the princess. Had I overstepped myself in any way, I would be a marked exile for the rest of my infinite days, all the while hunted by those who would curry your favor." He reached up and gently cupped her face in his hands, the ball of his thumb gently smoothing away the ribbon of silver water down her cheek. "The honor of our meeting, lady Caterina Rosati, has been all mine." And standing in the silver beams of the garden and the bladed tattoo of rosebush shadows, he kissed her.

Again, this vampire had managed to take Catarina by surprise. She could hardly think, Gavin’s kiss had clouded her mind. Losing herself in the moment her eyes fluttered shut and she leaned into his waiting embrace her hand gently caressing his cheek. Everything around her seemed to blur until the sound of voices coming down the pathway broke through. Breaking off the kiss she pulled Gavin deeper into the shadows until a drunken pair of guests stumbled by too consumed by each other to notice anything else. Laughing at the rush she tied her mask back on and smiled at Gavin. “Perhaps we should go somewhere a little more private. Would you join me in a glass of wine in my parlor?”

"Mmm..." Spotting a particularly lovely specimen, and of course he thought of women in that way only because they were so like flowers in his mind, delicate, and sometimes they even smelled nice, as he bid farewell to his consorts (naughty~) he crossed the room without hesitation and introduced himself to what he thought to be a lovely Greek woman (Nyx I'm hinting at you). It didn't matter to him that they were in the middle of the dance floor "You, surely, must be Miss Catriana? Rumor speaks well of her beauty and a woman possessing such beauty as yours must surely be talked about all over the country." He was not wearing a mask, despite this being a masked ball, so he felt no reason to give his name right away. "If you are, then that makes me your betrothed, and you mine of course, or vice versa as the Romans once said."

I don't think Rhea is Greek, maybe the name is a bit, but if she were Greek, she'd have a big nose...no offense to the Geeks...]
*Rhea blinked several times through her mask, the dance had ceased when this stranger came up. She didn't remember it stopping, but it must have been her because Marco looked surprised.*
"Good sir..."
*She started, but what would she tell him? The whole goal of the night was to keep this man away from Catarina, who was busy with a strange man who had introduced himself as Gavin. Maybe she could do like-wise and come up with a story of her own like Catarina...so long as the Rosati's never found out...*
*Smiling up at the handsome man, she started again.*
"Yes, my name is Catarina Violetta Rosati. You must be Lord Abendroth. A pleasure to finally meet the man behind the name."
*She curtsied to him, while sneaking a glace at Marco in appology, her stare also said 'don't screw this up for me.'*
'Catarina, I hope we have another plan than this!' *she said in her head to her lady*
