Janice turned in her chair facing the captain with a less bubbly personality. After that whole incident of being treated like a child and basically being called a liar and reprimanded non-stop, She didnt feel like her old self. They risked their lives for that data, and what did they get? Treated like stoners. "After running a routine scan, the ships performance is on par with everything else. We're doing exceptional. All Departments are functional and no problems have been reported, We Haven't had a problem reported since.. the incident. I'll enter that in the log for Starfleet." she turned around with a blank stare on her face and eyed her control panel and pushed some buttons. "Finished" she said without returning a stare. Janice really didnt want to be there, but she didnt agree with what Starfleet did, but she'd have to deal with it. She was still going to give her best on the enterprise without taking things personally. Plus, she had a duty to fill. "Anything else captain?" she said while pulling up the main menu on her control panel waiting for further instructions. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

--=-- --=--James T. Kirk---=--- --=-- “Thank you lieutenant.” Jim said, shifting his posture to sit up straight. Just a week ago, Janice had been full of life and now she was a mindless drone. He wanted to fix it. He guessed not everyone could be as strong, and that it would take time to fix. Noting the time on his watch, his shift was over…despite the fact he had just arrived on the bridge moments ago.
Kirk was always clocked in, even if his presences wasn’t on the bridge. Clearing his throat, his gaze fell upon the helmsmen, “Sulu, you have the conn…” he had a spring in his step, when he basically jumped from the chair. “I’ll be back in a couple of hours…” when his shift would start all over again.
Approaching Janice at her station, Kirk leaned down, “Look, why don’t you take a break. You need it…and, hey, why don’t you join me for some coffee in the lounge?” Jim smiled, patting the woman on the shoulder. He inclined his head over towards the lift, “Come on…I promise I won’t bite.”
He smiled, trying to bring up the mood of his crew. It was hard, when he himself felt guilt. Heading towards the lift, as if Janice agreed to it, he paused. “Oh Nyot-I mean…Uhura,” a light teasing grin formed, “could you give Commander Spock his soup? I believe the chefs on level three, have it ready on a tray…Kay, thanks.” He entered the lift, and kept his hand on the door, so it wouldn’t close. Jim felt assured that Janice would join him.

Janice scrunched her eyebrows at his request, That was just random. Why would the captain ask her to join him for coffee? Her out of all people. They barely spoke except for the usual boring ship update. She looked at her watch to see that her break was almost up and she already had everything else finished. "Just go with it." she thought to herself getting up from her chair. She made her way to the lift but stopped to let uhura pass her first. Janice knew the Uhura was filled with joy and excitement to see Spock. So letting her go first was only logical. Making her way to the lift she wondered how Spock and McCoy were doing. She hoped for the best and headed into the lift with Kirk. She Flashed him a closed smile followed by a nod and kept her gaze focused on her feet. "What could a Captain and a C.O.M possibly talk about that didnt involve the Enterprise?. Once again she was over analyzing things and just..went with it. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

-S-p-O-c-K- “Enter.” Spock had said this on the basis that he knew the Captain’s yeoman would deliver his meal, to which he would not touch and that would be that. As of recently, the half-vulcan started to feel out of it. He presumed at first it was because of his injuries sustained aboard the cargo ship.
But now, he began to think otherwise.
His gaze lifted from the desk in his main room, and was surprised to see Nyota there with the tray. Spock stiffened, and arose so quickly to his feet, you thought he was going to attack her. He cleared his throat, and tugged at the end of his uniform shirt, pulling it down in a more proper manner.
Yes, Spock had discarded the clothes that Bones had given him. “Lieutenant Uhura…I did not expect you.” His gaze harden and only a slight twitch around his left eye indicated his agitation.

-S-p-O-c-K- Spock watched her stop to leave, and found it to be logical and let her go. But, as of late, his emotions were on a whirl wind, and therefore it surprised even himself on his next course of action. Then he reached over and grasped her wrist. Spock folded Uhura’s fingers so that her index and middle finger were extended, side by side, while the rest of her hand was closed into a fist. Then Spock made a similar gesture, and touched the tips of their extended fingers together. It tingled pleasantly.
His gaze lingered in her gaze, holding it. “this…is a gesture of affection between two romantically connected individuals…” He had never shared this with Uhura before, as he was still uncertain where they stood. “…you may extend it to me at any time, and I will return it.” This was an effort to show the woman, that he was not trying to shut her out, but he had to relocate his logical side, and wits about him. With the attack on the ship and his own emotions still on a rage bent.
“Nyota…I must profess I am not….all here.” Spock confessed to her. His gaze stared at her intently. He took a step back from her and turned. “It would be prudent to avoid contact with me for the time being. Do not take offense to my gestures of..off putting you.” He explained, biting down hard on his lower lip.
Expressing his feelings were not easy for him.
“…I aquire solitude.”

--=-- --=--James T. Kirk---=--- --=-- “You know, Lieutenant…before, on the bridge,” Kirk closed the lift doors and informed it level three. “I was only giving you a hard time. Its custom….trust me, I knew your name the first time I heard it…” his gaze traveled over to her, indicating it wasn’t really her name he recalled. Jim cleared his throat, leaning against the wall.
“Tell me, cause I’m very curious..why the hell did you join Starfleet? I checked your personal file, nothing to give any indication of a career in Space…well hell, Bones wasn’t going to join until his divorce.” Kirk was just so damn open about certain things that I’m sure people don’t want out.
He gave Janice his trade mark smile as the lift doors opened, when they arrived on the right level. The captain stepped off, and glanced casually over his shoulder, he was awaiting his questions to be answered.

Janice remembered that mental checklist she had made of Kirk before. She crossed out the word a*****e and followed him off the lift. "I just needed a change in my life.." she said walking down the corridor with her infamous sway. ".. I guess i just got tired of living a normal boring life." She glanced over at Kirk. "Im sure you could relate to that." Janice flashed him her pearly whites and brushed the bangs off her forehead. "I mean, Who really wants to just lay around doing nothing?" Her gaze switched to the ceiling. "You know.. I used to lay in the grass at night with my dad back when i was a little girl, and just stare at the stars." Vivid memories of those nights played like some old time movie in her mind. She lit out a little coy smirk without realizing. "I told him that when i grew up i was going to be up there looking down. Of course he did what every parent would do to their child after hearing something like that. He patted my head and just agreed with me." They made it to the Break room door. "....Then again no one would have imagined all this happening at that point..." ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

-S-p-O-c-K- He had fathomed the extent of Uhura’s feelings towards him. And yet, Spock was still unsure of his own. Yes, Nyota has proven to inflict emotions to stir within him, but that could also be explained biologically. It was only logical to look at it from all views. Though, he knew his mother would tell him to follow his heart. Something he was not use too.
“I do not want you to worry about me. I am fine.” He assured his companion. She reminded him so very much like his mother at that moment. That look of sadness that crept so suddenly upon her delicate features.
Spock cleared his throat, inclining his head towards her in her movement to kiss him. His facial expression was placid, but his eyes gave away the warmth, the feeling that he felt towards her.
“Goodbye Nyota.” He said, clasping his hands behind his back. When the door to his quarters shut, Spock did not hesitate to place the lock on. He did not want another intrusion despite how Uhura’s appearance had calmed him…but not nearly to the extent he aquired.

--=-- --=--James T. Kirk---=--- --=-- Wasn’t that the truth? Kirk had thought he’d be stuck in Iowa, moving from one bar to next, to drown himself in booze and women. Hell, he could still do that, but he had changed.
“My mother wasn’t keen on me joining Starfleet…but, she couldn’t really stop me since I just got up and left.” Partly true. He had left the bar after his chat with Pike and went to the restricted zone where the Enterprise was being constructed. He had stayed there all night until early dawn.
Jim had debated in his head of what to do with himself, and Pike’s word kept hitting at him. Though, more importantly, to sooth his own ego, he wanted to join Starfleet to top his old man.
Perhaps he had done that now?
Entering the lounge behind Janice, Kirk noticed only a few upward glances, but no one was really interested in them. His scan of the room fell upon the familiar backside of a cranky a** doctor. “Janice...I see a table for us.” He put on a childish grin, approaching his friend. Jim slapped a hand on Bones’ back, to which he received a glare that could kill. More or less the glare said, ‘I’m gonna hypospray your a**.’
“Bones! How nice of you to have a table ready for me…and food. Perfect!” he chuckled, snatching the apple off of Bones’ plate before the doctor could protest. Jim took a big bite out of it, and looked so smug doing it.
“Damnit Jim! Ask next time.” Bones responded, rolling his eyes.
“Thought I did…Oh well..” Jim shrugged his shoulders, slipping into the seat across from the doctor. His baby blue eyes looked towards Janice, indicating for her to join them. “So, how is sickbay?”
Bones paused in his meal, and gave Jim an exasperated look, “Peachy…” he growled out.

Janice couldnt help but giggle at Jims hysterical, yet rude behavior towards Bones. It was obvious that he was just teasing bones, Everyone does it to one of their friends before, hell, so did she. Janice Pulled a chair out and sat down and crossed her legs. She exchanged smiles with everyone at the table. "So how are you feeling?" She asked bones while lightly tilting her head towards his wound. No one really got a chance to talk about what happened that day. Then again she didnt anyone wanted to. She hooked a strand of hair over her ear while she eyed the room. ------------------------------------You Can look, But ya cant touch..------------------------------------

Leonard McCoy Of course Jim couldn’t just waltz in here and act like a normal human being, as that would be asking for a heck of a lot. Bones snorted at his friend, shaking his head. The things he put up with sometimes. Though, he and Jim had fun. He smiled just slightly at the brief memory when they tagged team into getting a professor to quit their job. But that was another story and Bones didn’t feel like dwelling for long. The doctor side glanced Janice, “Not bad. We took care of it just in time..” he replied. Bones did wonder what would have been the end result if he had left it untreated? At least then they’d have evidence and Starfleet wouldn’t be on their asses. Bones snapped his fingers in front of Kirk’s face, “Jim, focus! You’re drooling…” he smirked slightly. “That’s…apple juice…” Jim responded, not sounding quite confident in his own words. The CMO nodded, “Right, of course…oh and just a reminder, its check up time for you..I have yet to see whats crawling in your pants these days.” Oh, the look he received could have killed a man. “Something the matter Jim? Did I speak out of term?” revenge for the apple. Bones chuckled softly in hearing the words ‘b*****d’. “So, Ms Rand, despite the incident how are you enjoying yourself here? I know the Enterprise isn’t full of glamour that the city offers…though I enjoyed the country myself.” “….She’s too young for you…ow! What was that for?” Jim asked, rubbing his shin where a certain foot had smacked him rather hard. The doctor said nothing towards his friend as his foot settled on the ground. He smiled innocently towards Janice. “Excuse Jim, he’s been through a lot…if you know what I mean.” All I have left is my bones..
