Too fast!

He had countered the Elwind with a Vortex and shot straight into the trees, out of which he now burst and came right at Fa's back, spearing his beak right at the transformed dragon's hide!

"So, Shento is here...against us. From protecting a kking, and now to fighting others. That is one of the most strangest things I have seen in my entire life. He protected the king, and now is ifghting others, who are practically on the side of the king. What is wrong with him?" Getting up, and bringing out the killing edge he had.

(Psst cant transform anymore)
As Fa quickly saw the raven come back Fa raised her hands and shot a blinding ball of energy and shot castello in the face and running past his wings. Fa flew up to dodge the beak attack and shot another blast of light energy into the back of Castello.

Mika screamed and writhed in the monster's grasp. "WHAT!? What are you?!" She gasped. "What the hell are you?!"

She looked down towards the ground, pain ripping at her as she tried to hang onto the monster... She felt her blood flooding down her body. "Aaauh..."

Jyoti gave Misura a reassuring nod. "Of course." Yes. She was ready. With a Heal staff strapped to her back, Antaram in her hand, and Aura in Victory's side-pouch, she was well-prepared.
She spared a quick glance to Misura, smiling softly at the fact that she was there, already heading towards her intended target. The valkyrie urged Victory to move forward, following Misura as she allowed her eyes to flicker around the battlefield. Yes, everything would be al--

A startled look came to her face, spotting one of the people on the opposing side, a woman with blonde hair and the face of--

No. It's not possible!!

The valkyrie blinked a few times. Maybe it was a dream, or an image, conjured up by exhaustion! She hadn't gotten a chance to rest or eat for a while... Yes, that was it! She was just tired and imagining things!

... But the woman was still there. She was still there.
She.
Was.
Still there.

Jyoti growled. It wasn't possible! How could she, of all people, be here now?! Keira... She was just about ready to storm over there and blow that woman to bits, when she remembered something.

Suddenly, her expression changed. She shook her head slowly, turning away from Victoria and glancing at Misura once more. No... The valkyrie would stay by her general. The two would stick together, fight together, and, if it goes badly, die together. They needed to support each other, and getting blinded by this... this... nasty reappearance would be absolutely foolish. No, she needed to keep her head clear from the past and focus on the present. The words of the Ancient Text rolled off her tongue, Antaram beginning to glow.

... Though she would prepare an extra big Antaram for Victoria, if she so decided to attack Misura or herself...

She shook her head, laughing softly at Rhys. Oh, geez... "Mm... well, if you insist... Thousand petals, blowing... swirling, eternally..." Her hand extended out to Rhys, a sweet, innocent smile on her face. "Antaram."

And, with those words, the petals appeared and began to circle around Rhys.

Making his way through the forest, Lance was dodging and weaving past the trees, moving as quickly as he possibly could with his weary body. He had to get as far away from the majority of FEFers, and that meant getting as far as possible before nightfall. He was quite amazed at how well his body was doing, considering all he had gone through the past few hours.

He could see some light further ahead now, as he was nearing the edge of the trees. Finally, he'd have a more open terrain where he could focus on moving quickly. Twenty yards...ten yards...five yards...

Then yelling, clinging of weapons and explosions.

Lance walked straight into a battlefield.

Hang on...I got so lost that I ended up where EVERYONE ELSE WAS?!

Lance pulled at his hair. His body was in no condition to fight, and yet here he was. He considered turning around, but then the whole travelling here would've been pointless...in his earlier encounters with the morphs, he had been ignored by them. As long as he could blend in with them, the other heroes wouldn't take note to him...it sounded like a good plan.

That is, until morphs took note of him and attacked. Lance panically released a coin holder of Fire coins, and activated one as he chucked it at a morph rushing at him. It exploded right in the morph's face, and Lance could catch it in mid-air. More morphs rushed at him, and Lance cursed at his own misfortune for once again putting himself at risk for a poor decision. He rained more Fire coins upon them, and Lance's presence started to show. He just hoped he wouldn't attract too much attention...

"Wait!" The morph screamed. "MIKA!"

Must save Mika.
What can I do?
That thing took Mika...
What is that thing?
It is a thing.
It is hurting my sister.
I must save my sister.

She ripped a tome out of her bag. Magic? She knew magic. She remembered Magic. She could use it. The magic felt good to her... It felt correct. She ran after The monster that had taken her sister. "Mika I am coming for you! Mika I will save you my sister, please be ok please be alright please do not die!"

She held up her tome towards the monster. Nosferatu... "I will..."

Hurt it. Hurt it. But Mika is being carried by it... I cannot hurt it... For I would hurt her... I would hurt Mika if I shot at that thing...

"PLEASE WAIT! PLEASE GIVE ME BACK MY SISTER!" She screamed.

Kyros surveyed the battlefield, widespread attacks sending the foes running as those disgusting, faceless reinforcements arrived. What, the shrimp didn't think that the fabled heroes were good enough to get the job done? Oh, they'd show her, alright. Though should she wish to keep her attitude, she may face the Dullahan once the opposition is quelled. But... the gory daydreaming would have to wait. Amelia had separated herself from the group, after all.

And she was distracted.

The Warrior began cackling maniacally, more scenes of intense bloodshed echoing through his mind, stopped only by the laughter as it engulfed his entire being. The girl would pay for killing Teifi, the pain the most intense she'd ever feel, the shock a likely shove into the afterlife.

"Child, I'm going to rip you apart!" he murmured to himself. "...maybe you'll even make me bleed." His body began to shake as the axe began to glow. The Dullahan was not to be taken lightly, oh no. Dullahan, I command you, make that child's blood rain from the heavens! The axe slammed into the ground, facing the small General as the axe's glow began to increase.

Spears of earth shot from the ground in front of the axe, similar to large stalagmites erupting from the soil. The spikes careened down the hilltop, in a path going directly towards the young General. Once the spikes reached a suitable level of the hill, Kyros lifted his axe and began to run down the hill, prepared to fell the girl before she could escape.

Victoria saw a grand opportunity, now that most of the Morphs were on the floor and helpless to destroy the lot of them in one shot. She held out the Aura tome, now chanting it to be of its full potential. "Blessed Saint, Holy Goddess! Grant me the strength to purge this evil before me! Give me the power to make sure that all my enemies in the alignments of chaos and darkness are torn from this earth... to purify the very world, the very soil we stand on! Lend me... your light! Aura!"

Upon calling out Aura's name, ten beams of swirling light shot down from the sky. Upon closing the tome and using her magical energies to control it, all of them went off at once, frying every morph that was in their path. She must have wiped out around three quarters of the ones that reamained on the battlefield... and could hopefully save her magical strength for the Heroes that remained.

After the ten-pointed Aura spell, Sue was quick to dash in and pick off the remainders of the morphs with her swift and deadly tactics she'd developed with her Killing Edge. Myulgre's shots could be saved for the Heroes... whom were going to be her next targets without a doubt. "Andre... let's keep this up!" she told her steed. "If we can win... and I think we'll truly win... we'll be there to save Rei... and to reunite with everyone here... reunite in Eyris... in peace!"

The horse seemed inspired by her words, and he galloped faster. As her steed picked up his speed, Sue picked up her own, and made quick work of the remaining morphs standing in front of her.

Leon looked surprised as the ten auras showered the battlefield and begun a purge of enemies like he'd never before seen. Okay, maybe magic wasn't underhanded when it was on the allies' side, but on the enemy side... still definitely. With his poleaxe, he diced through more morphs, but had a more-than-clear path to the Sage... the 'Shield" Domannova.

He'd noticed that Neros had broke through to Mika... but with this Sage guarding her, that breakthrough wouldn't last long. If he could just distract him... the shields would drop! And so forward Leon went... attempting to stop Domanova's casting.

John saw that the great knight was charging for that sage that held up a shield and made way for him too aiming three arrows at him while running along the tree line.

Amelia stuck close to Rhys. Fighting alone in this mess was a surefire way to be taken down... You couldn't go at this alone. Almost as if responding to that thought and throwing it in her face, Amelia's eyes snapped up at the sudden shout to Rhys. "You! Priest! We have unfinished business!"

Amelia's eyes narrowed. No. No. This woman was not attacking Rhys. The Bishop already knew this, though; he was speaking to her after just a few moments. "You see that General right there? Change of plans. For reasons of her sword, I can't defeat her. I'll handle the Valkyrie with her. Take the General, okay?"

Amelia nodded once. Attacking the General... dangerous. But if Rhys was unable to strike Misura down, then Amelia would have to do it. She moved to tell Rhys something, then froze. Magic around him. Glowing petals. She turned back to Misura and Jyoti. Antaram was open.

s**t.

Before she could so much as move towards Jyoti (Take out the book, the spell will cease, she won't be able to cast it!) she heard a heavy rumbling after a mighty crash. Amelia stared at the oncoming spears of earth, heading right... for... her.

"s**t! s**t!" Amelia leaped out of the way of the blow, rolling and coming to a stop. She panted and pulled herself back up, barely avoiding a flying arrow. She scooped up one arrow that had fallen, looked back up to where the attack had come. Kyros was running at her, but he was still far... she had time... Amelia dropped her lance and drew her bow up to her hand. Speed was the key factor; in just a few seconds, she readied the fallen arrow she'd retrieved and let it fly at Kyros' face. A second went to his neck, a third at the un-armored flesh of his right arm, and then the bow went back to her hip, and her spear was back in her hand. She was moving back now, trying to keep distance between herself and him.

Annis relaxed when she saw Castello emerge. He hadn't been slain... but what now? Still fighting. Still enraged. If someone could calm him down... Annis looked to her daggers, then back to Castello, where he was rocketing towards what looked like a fire-breathing goose.

She started to move for him. If someone could calm him down somehow, then maybe... just maybe...

Boom.

Annis yelled and flailed, trying to move away from the cloud of smoke in her face. Someone nearby kept setting off explosions. What the hell? Annis growled, drawing her daggers out of their scabbards. A morph ran at her, lance held high, only to fall as suddenly blood spurted out of his throat and fed into the ground. "You...! What are you, an idiot?" Annis shouted, looking over to Lance. "Don't go and make yourself a big target! Sheesh!" With that, she tried to get back to where no one would see her. Maybe Lance would take the hint and hide, too.

Petals? A thousand petals, blowing... swirling around him? This was the magic of Jyoti, Valkyrie of the Nine Heroes. Light magic of light magics, the legendary Antaram itself.

The strange thing was that the petals could allow him to escape. It might sting, yes--but he wasn't a Bishop for nothing. Even if he prepared his mental defenses, he was quite sure he did NOT want the entire spell to blow up in his face. Even with him, it would HURT.

So he geared a quick mental wall and charged forward, straight into the petal field. The holy energy slapped into his mental defenses, and with so many, it didn't take long before they broke through, smiting his flesh with the wrath of whatever deities Jyoti believed in. He felt a bit hurt, but at least he'd dodged the worst of it.

"I do indeed insist. I can't defeat Misura, you understa--NOSFERATU," he said. And indeed, he FEARED Vezra's blade. That fear mixed with his determination, backing the emotional power required for Nosferatu. The light concentrated around Jyoti, looking to take the life force away from her!

Váli squeaked and closed his mouth as he was whacked with the staff. Curse this small stature! he thought, and then he bristled as he backed away, dark energy crackling across his fur, and then he sat back on his haunches and spread his arms, discharging the energy into the sky through the hole in the top of the mountain, then rained down dark fire toward Octavio!

Loki sat back in midair with a bucket of popcorn, watching with amusement.

Neros burst out in hysterical laughter. He'd heard that one before.

"I am the goddess's GREATEST FAILURE!" he screamed, flying upside-down, his mudlike tears falling to the earth as he twitched and trembled, his claws tightening lest he lose his plaything. And then suddenly he was hugging Mika tightly, and he was plummeting, plummeting, plummeting, and everything blurred and was no more, no longer sentient, no longer made sense —

He pulled out of the dive and flew high again, swinging Mika around by the arms, tossing her high up and catching her, over and over again —

"Vika, where are you Vika, come play, come play with me!!" he wailed. "This is boring, I'm bored, Vika come play, come play, please come play, come play, come play...!!"

There was so much noise in his head, so much chaos, so much anger and pain and sorrow and ecstasy and regret and guilt and remorse and names and places and sights and memories

memories

MEMORIES

And he could only very barely hear Madriana, and as her voice entered his mind he spasmed and sobbed and laughed and he forgot that he existed. Everything was lost to him, the setting sun in his eyes. He forgot how to fly, he forgot he was holding on to something, and he and Mika started to fall again. He stared emptily at the girl, seemingly sightless, seemingly lifeless, but his lips were still moving.

"Vik...Vik...kk...kkkk....kkkkkkkccccch..."

----------

Soren staggered as the Vortex maneuver struck him. Yes, Castello was indeed a quick one, but he too wasn't entirely slow for one with a beorc body. Whipping around, he summoned his magic to form a set of jaws around Fa, a spell meant to protect her from her attackers, and the dragon-shaped spell shrilly sang as it closed around Castello.

He was too occupied with this situation to help with the petals again.

The Scripts of Strategy

Misura Tsudan

PostPosted: Wed Jul 01, 2009 12:44 pm

... Ha. Hahaha. The little priest truly thought she was just going to back away and allow him to attack her Jyoti? The girl was interesting, but she wasn't nearly enough of a diversion, most especially as Kyros was already attacking her. There was no need for Misura to attack her. But this one was a bishop, wasn't he? His Resistance would be high, even against Antaram's power. So her choice was clear. She would still kill this bishop. She would NOT abandon her Jyoti. Vezra came forward, and Misura turned her attention back to the bishop. "No, holy man! You will not put me off that easily!"

One step, then two, and she was running again. He was occupied. He was casting a spell. His lips were moving, and then he yelled out, and the General grinned a sadistic grin. Now he was caught. She had never met any magic user who could break their own spell, once cast, in under three seconds. And at this rate, it would take only two for her to reach the bishop and carve a piece out of his body. Vezra dropped, coming around in a great arc that would connect just under Rhys' upraised arm.

One.

She stepped forward, throwing her weight into the swing. On second thought, this likely wasn't as good an idea. If the bishop DID manage to break his spell and avoid her attack, she'd be flat on the ground and helpless for a few seconds. But it didn't matter. He couldn't get away. And even if he did, Jyoti would protect her. There was absolutely no doubt.
