[[OoC: PQ for the sake of sanity I'm just going to imagine the comment you made disappeared due to the fact I had no interent and you moved on. <3.]]
Rae glanced over at Pie, PQ, Ace and girl she'd never met before, although she looked vaguely familiar, and then back at Dawgie-B. Biting her lip she considered her small friend. Would he be able to handle it? Shrugging she grabbed his arm and stood pulling him up with her. He stared at her with wide eyes. "Come on, hun. It's time for you to meet some people." Dawgie-B shook his head, trying to resist her grip on his arm. Monk sighed heavily and placed her palm on his cheek. "I willl not let anything bad happen to you. I will be right next to you, I will keep my hand on your cheek, and if you need to you can hide behind me and wrap yourself in my tail." He looked up at her still fearful, but nodded. Smiling she made sure her arm was securely hitched under Dawgie's and made her way over to the group slowly. He went willingly and even put a small smile on his own face even though his eyes still held fear. "Hello, darlings. I'd like you all to meet Dawgie-B. Dawgie, this is PQ, Pie, Ace, and the new girl I haven't met yet." She motioned to each of them in turn. Turning towards the new girl she put her hand out to shake. "We haven't met before as far as I know. I'm Raelinn Monk. Aekean librarian, Duremite dancer, and Bowler Babe bassist." She looked off thoughtfully for a moment. "Hmm... Maybe I should start calling my self Aekean Archivist. It would keep the flow of same letter titles... But then that would be unreasonably annoying, now wouldn't it?" Rae was talking more to herself than anyone else. Shaking it off she smiled at the new girl and chuckled. "Sorry. I do that sometimes. Uhm yeah... Hi. Who are you?"

Reaching out, she took Hayley's hand gently, lifting it to where her own lips would be and bowing slightly over it. "Fresh it is." The womanly dressed PQ (which was a rare occasion to those who knew her) doing something rather masculine would probably look odd to those who did not know her. While PQ had been raised in Aekea, and had been deeply involved with a notorious gang, she had the proper etiquette of the higher courts nearly beaten into her. She had been taught how to flatter both genders, and all races. When she let Hayley's hand reach the small bit of metal where a human's mouth would be, a small spark jumped between both their bodies. It was not unpleasant, and could have even be called pleasing. Gently releasing the Guard's hand, she straightened.
"It's a pleasure. I'm P.Q." As she said her name, the spaces between the letters were rather pronounced. There was no doubt that her name was only initials. And even in her pleasant tone, voice naturally low and sensual with a hint of 'city kid' on the tip of her tongue, there was no doubt that asking what the initials stood for was not as pleasant.

Hayley's hand tingled at the unfamiliar sensation, but she found the gesture warming. The traditionally masculine display of affection only phased her slightly. She had shown her greetings in similar ways to this before, but she had never been on the receiving end. She couldn't really remember the last time she had been treated like a lady. Or worn a dress, for that matter. "Heh, at last. I wanted to thank you for hosting such a beautiful event."After PQ had released her hand, she turned it to take the hand of Ms. Monk. "And as for you, my name is Hayley. I'm the newly instated Guard Captain from Barton. I hear you're quite the bassist."She was hesitant to reveal her own affinity for the instrument. It had been so long since she'd played that she didn't exactly feel like embarrassing herself in front of her new friends just yet.

Geratenchi, Gera's youngest "son" of sorts, was snacking away at the buffet table. His "mom" had brought him here more than just to stuff his face and watch what was going on around him. She said that she wanted him to meet someone, but never said who....
"Geratenchi wonders who Mama wants Geratenchi to meet...."
Eventually, Gera got tired of sitting around and waiting. Who knows? Maybe P-Bot and Hakobe already came and she never knew about it....
"Might as well go down and see everybody...."
The nurse bot got up, brushed off any dust that was on her Winter Rose dress and petal-shaped gloves, straightened her bolero and rose clips, and headed on out....
After eating the last of the crackers, the android got up and flew away. On his way to the staircase, he caught a glimpse of Radio Jack and Ash comically squabbling, which elicited a cheerful giggle from the fake Angel Imp. He then continued on his way up the stairs, heading to where his "mom" was and....well, you knew how this would end up....
"Ow! What hit Geratenchi....?"
"Oh, Geratenchi! Gomennasai! I wasn't paying attention again, was I?"
"Goshinpainaku, Mama. Geratenchi be just fine."
"Oh, good...."
"Is Mama thinking about Pops again?"
"Well, partially...."
"Is person Geratenchi needs to meet here?"
"Not yet, as far as I know...."
As mother and son talked, they headed downstairs to the party. Both were secretly getting a little worried. Perhaps a little investigation was in order....
"....Think we should ask your PQ-oba-san?"
"Hai, hai! PQ-oba-san might know!"
Geratenchi flailed and swooped around with glee for a while. That is, until he realized something, which made Gera sweatdrop....
"....Who be PQ-oba-san?"

Pie hadn't heard of Ace. She may have been a city girl but, even Pie didn't know everyone in Aekea. She replied to his question in a sweet tone, "I'm Pieta, but please call me Pie." She smiled one of her catty grins, eyes sparking. Pie enjoyed meeting new people.
She let a chuckle at Monk, she though Monk sounding like she hadn't left the stage. She greeted Monk over pronouncing some of the words to sound like upper class women, "Good to see you, darling. Your latest performance was marvelous."
She let Hayley meet PQ and smiled at the gesture. Thinking that PQ knew how to treat a lady.

Rae rolled her eyes at Pie. "Thanks so was yours, honey." She turned back to Hayley. "Oh we-... Wait a second! When did we get a guard? Have I been that oblvious all this time? Well, it's possible. I really don't pay much attention to anything. But really do we have a guard? 'Cause I had no idea! How long ahve we had it? Do you know? 'Caus-... Nevermind. None of that matters because I really don't care. Thank you for being our Captain. Uhm yes. I suppose I am a fairly decent bassist. Do you have a particular intrest in the instrument?" Dawgie-B's eye twitched as he watched Monk ramble. She really was a spazz.

Hayley couldn't help but laugh as Raelinn rambled. She was an interesting kind of crazy. "Heh, the Guard is a new installment, m'am. I offered my services to the city about a month ago, and I was given a facility and resources to call my own. I guess law enforcement around must have been in less than pristine condition. I only moved in recently, so no. You're not missing out on much."She specifically avoided the bass question. She'd get around to telling Monk eventually, but for now she preferred to divert the conversation towards something she was absolutely familiar with.

Monk sighed relieved. "Oh thank goodness. I'd thought I'd lost my mind. Well, what little of it there's left." She chuckled. Rae really hated using that line due it's cheesy-ness, but she really didn't know what else to say. "Well, we really didn't need law enforcement as far as I knew. We seemed to do pretty well on our own with all the ex-assassains, mercenaries, psychotic robots, and of course our lovable Ra worshiping Black Witch living here. But hey, that's cool. You look nice by the way. The daisy is a pleasant touch."

"Heh."She got this a lot. It didn't seem to occur to people that being prepared was the best strategy they could employ. Protection is something you never know you need until there's a serious lack of it and the wrong people stroll into town. "Well let's hope that stays true, but if one day disaster strikes, I'd feel a lot better knowing that we were prepared for the worst of it."Hayley adjusted the flower sticking out of her hat. She'd always loved daisies for whatever reason. It was just a kind of simple prettiness that she always enjoyed. It was rare that she didn't have one peeking out of her hat or from behind her ear. Back in Barton, some of the guys had even spraypainted one onto some of her helmets. She saw it as a symbol of a peacekeeper inside her at times. After all, that was what she fought for. "Thanks." She smiled. "I've always thought daisies were the prettiest flower out there."

Black turned her head when she heard the mention of her name. Come to think of it, that really was the Aekean Law enforcement. A whole bunch of minute men who happened to be anyone at anytime. "That a whole lot of recruiting you have, Hayley. Come to think of it. . . . The work is half done for you. The other half is organizing the lot of us, especially us loony bins. Can't really work with the loony bins on the risk of becoming either homicidal or suicidal or just plain mad." Black mused. The witch tilted her head, "I'm actually interesting into seeing what method and standards you'll have in place for the Aekean Guards."

Gera had been taken off-guard by Ash's surprise hug. She had slightly jumped a bit, but calmed down when she realized that it was only Ash. The secretive cyborg smiled warmly to the one she thought of as a brother, greeting him back....
"Konbanwa, Faust-kun. I just got tired of waiting for somebody, so I decided to come down and see everyone."
As Gera spoke with Ash, Geratenchi was trying to befriend Radio Jack. He had some rainbow ice cream in his mouth and was attempting to give the little minion of Sol a big feathery hug....
"Tomodatchi! Tomodatchi!"
Gera glanced over at Geratenchi for a split second before focusing on Ash again. Her youngest "son" seemed to be having fun. However, the matter at hand was still present in her mind....
"Hey, Faust-kun....Have you seen Hakobe and P-Bot?"

Rae looked at Hayley thoughtfully for a moment. "It suits you," she said smiling. Monk thought about her favorite flower and decided she didn't have one. In all honesty she just loved nature, but she also loved the things mechanical pursuits had given them. This was why the trek between Aekea and Durem had never bothered her. One type of architecture to gorgeous nature to a completely different type of architecture. It was one of her favorite things to do for that very reason. Some people balked when they heard she walked to Durem and back two days a week, but she loved it, and she would never stop. She didn't care how far it was or how old she got. She felt Dawgie's grip tighten as Black spoke. It grew even tighter as Gera and Ash spoke. Rae looked down at her young companion. His eyes wer shut tight and he was beginning to hyper-ventilate although he hid it quite well and the movement of his chest that she felt no one else would see because of the size of his jacket. Monk's head popped up to look at her friends an apologetic smile on her face to hide the worry she felt for Dawgie-B. "Black, Ash, Gera, this is Dawgie-B. And I would stay here and chat, but I need to sit down. I haven't felt very well today, but I came anyway. You understand." She smiled again and turned gently leading Dawgie-B to the same couch they'd sat on earlier.

Hearing the witch's comment about the existing defense mechanisms of the city, Hayley piped up regarding her own thoughts. "Heh, I'd noticed. I'm mainly here just to set up a kind of organizational system for crisis prevention and the like. That's actually why I wanted to turn to you guys, the people. You've thrived this long. I just want to make sure it stays that way."She hesitated. "Well, also there's the matter or increasingly large numbers of bureaucratic..... bureaucrats in the law enforcement system these days. Without some kind of defense against all the red tape there's a good chance outside forces might start trying to call the shots for you in a less than voluntary fashion." She forced herself to pause after "bureaucratic" because her mind could really only fill that blank in less than party appropriate words. Gone are the days when nobody cared who saved the day as long as it was done, she despised the shift in how things were run. One of the reasons she had left the guard was that there were rumors floating around about expansion of the force to "provide for" other cities. It wouldn't happen for years to come, and it wouldn't happen at all, if she had anything to do with it.

So very very cold," he replied shivering. "oh relax, the ice cream broad said she was sorry after sol left," " Damn it this isn't one of the things you face your fears on, I'm doing quite will in group therapy," Jack replied this time in a muffled tone trying to cover his face with the polyester of Ash's pants.
