"Eh, but lavi-" He was already gone, Riane just wanted to tell him that the Kage was in the sparring room already. "Whatever." Raine held the ninpod in his hand. He hadn't seen one before, but he had heard of them. Placing the earphones in he waited for something to happen. Nothing. The boy realized that he had forgotten to press play and did so. Suddenly a voice cut into his thoughts, it was a women who was sort of monotone. He sighed and set to work again. Tsuyosa hadn't come so he had to keep going. Raine figured that he wouldn't come until Hikaru finished, he hoped that wouldn't be too long.

As Raine set back to his training he listened to the woman, it was sort of confusing because it was obviously a different lesson than Lavi had left off on, not to mention that Raine didn't really understand any of what he was listening to. "DAOISM (TAOISM) Daoism appeared in China during the 500's B.C.E. Like Buddhism, Daoism was less a religion and more a philosophical system, whose founding figure made no claim to divinity. However, Doaoism had a mystical strain that grew more pronounced as time passed." K Daoism not a religion, more philis of i- whatever. Raine thought pulling himself up every few seconds.

"The Founders of Daoism." The voice said coldly as Raine lay his head back, struggling to get off the chair once more, he went up none the less as the voice carried on herself. Traditionally, the founder of Daoism is considered to be Laozi, the "Old Master". Laozi may or may not be an actual historical figure. He is also said to have written Daoism's central text, the Tao-te Ching, although most scholars believe this collection of writings was compiled in the 300s or 200s B.C.E." When the woman spoke of the Old Master, Raine thought of Tsuyosa, and laughed a bit, he couldn't hear it through the headphones but figured he had made the noise anyway. He pulled himself up again while the woman paused.

The small boy pulled himself up again, his eyes fixed into the twilight zone. His focus was on the words beamed into his brain through the headphones, and trying to decipher them. "Following the Dao. To follow Daoism is to follow "the way", or "the path," the two most common translations of dao. Daoist belief maintains that the universe is governed by an invisible, yet irresistible force that can be sensed intuitively. Daoist thought is deliberately antirational, using parables and paradox to train the worshiper to perceive the world in a nonlogical way. The most famous Daoist paradox is found in the writings of Zhuangzi, who asks himself if he is a man who had just awoken from a dream that he was a butterfly, or a butterfly still dreaming that he is a man." Raine listened to these words, and understood the just of them. He didn't know what a paradox was, but he could figure out nonlogical. While lifting himself on the bench, Raine's face turned to that of contemplation. The thought of being a butterfly just dreaming he was a man was disturbingly plausible. The Lady kept speaking though and Raine had to move on.

Raine felt the burn of the work, and took deep breaths that almost overpowered the sound of the recording in his ears. He tried to concentrate hard on them while he lifted his body again and again. His fists still clenched at his cheeks. Evey now and again they headphones would come loose and he would have to reach up and plug them back in while he was crunching. The room felt warm, and the desert that surrounded him gave the air a dry quality that he couldn't explain. " A Daoist seeks wisdom in nature, poetry, and spontaneous behavior." Raine wondered what spontaneous behavior was for a moment. And connected that he too, found wisdom in nature. He was horrible at poetry though. "He or she is not concerned with politics, money, or material possession, because all of these are illusory and meaningless." Raine thought about this idea too while he fell back to the bench, and pulled himself up. He thought about a world where nobody stole money, and tried to get lots of money. Where ryo was meaningless. And he didn't have to beg in the street to get money to buy an apple. He could just get an apple. The thought seemed so beautiful and perfect.

The boy listened on thinking to himself at each word this wise woman seemed to spout. He greatly liked it when Lavi had taught him these things, the woman was so dull. And she didn't take the time to tell him anything extra like Lavi did. Her voice was so boring. "Daoism places an emphasis on individuality, since each person pursues the dao in his or her own unique way." Raine liked this, a religion that let's you do what you want seemed good. Most religions he had heard about where so strict, and they made people do crazy things, like not eat, or only believe one thing. It seemed so pointless and ironic to believe in something that controlled you. "Daoist Ritual. After a time, Daoism became associated with mystical and magical practices, such as alchemy and fortune-telling." Raine didn't really see these things as mystical, he loved getting his fortune told at the fairs in Oto, and he ran to the alchemists shop nearly every weekend, to get his mom some special plant growing stuff.

Raine lifted himself curling his body up again, his legs hurt on the padded bar holding them down. After all he had been training for quite a while now. This reminded him to chekc the door to see if anyone was there. As he went back and up again, Raine checked around the corner and what he could see of the kitchen. No one was there still. He just shrugged and dropped backk to the bench and the woman. "The I-Ching, or "book of changes," is a Daoist text used in reading the future. Daoism's most famous symbol is the yin-yang, a circles whose black and white halves are divided by a double-curved line, serving as to illustrate that nothing is absolute, and that opposites flow into each other." Raine new this symbol, he had seen it many times in markets. Finally the true meaning of it was revealed and something about what the woman said just made sense to the boy. Nothing is absolute, he thought and opposites flow into each other... the idea was obvious now that it lay in front of him. He decided to take all that this woman said and commit it to heart so that he could believe in it on his own. Raine wondered if maybe Tsuyosa had a book on Daoism in his big library. It seemed like the best place to search for one.

"A flexible religion, Daoism has traditionally coexisted with other faiths." "That's just what I was thinking before!" Raine said excitedly as he reached the crest of his crunch, He smiled broadly knowing that he had a good and kind idea and that this 'Daoism' did exactly what he had suggested. He leaned back again more energized with excitement. "It is not uncommon for a worshiper to blend elements of Daoist worship with Buddhism and Confucianism. " He was officially confused once more. "Since Daoism and Confucianism arose in China at approximately the same time, the relationship between the two has generally been a tight one." These words didn't really mean much to him, Raine had no clue what Confucianism was and so just focused on his crunches while she went on about this.

Hikaru got into his stance and then began weaving hand seals. "Bushin no jutsu!" Next there was a big puff of smoke as Hikaru created three clones. there was no speaking at all. the clones surrounded Hikaru as he raised his hand in the air and then dropped it the clones charged in. the first clone punched from his right side. Hikaru stepped into the clones attack and blocked with his arm then as his punch connected with the clone it turned into smoke. the next clone came from behind him. Hikaru spun on his back foot without breaking his stance. the clone tried to kick Hikaru but Hikaru knocked it away with is fist and turned the clone into smoke as he punched it in the chest. the last clone charged in without even throwing a punch. Hikaru grabbed the clones arm and threw it thirty feet into a wall. "How embarrassing, my clones are so weak." Hikaru said as he got into his stance.

Raine pulled out the headphones quickly when he thought he heard something in the hall. After taking a second to stop and listen he decided that it was nothing, going back to his crunches. He left the headphones out though, the recording was at a boring part and it had been a long time, maybe long enough the Tsuyosa would be coming any minute. He looked to the door once more as he pulled himself up. Who was he kidding Tsuyosa probably wouldn't be back for hours. He would have to do this until eternities end. Raine thought as he angrily fell backward.

Hikaru stood in his stance and thought about how weak his clones were and it began to make him angry. Well I guess the only way to make my clones stronger would be the kage bushin no jutsu but I'm not strong enough for that yet. Hikaru thought as he took a few breaths and got ready to try another parry.

Raine rose and fell again and again. There was nothing but the ceiling and the window, ceiling, window, ceiling, window! He was calm in his pain, to tired to really focus or care that he was hurting. He didn't have any true motivation only just to keep going. Lavi had left him, and he felt alone and pooped. Suna hadn't been half as fun as he thought it would be last night. He thought they would have learned some secret awesome super Tekkenseisai move. He did meet the kage though, that was pretty cool.

Raine pulled himself up, he felt so drained now he had to just stop for a second and gaze blankly out the window in front of him. He wanted to take a nice long nap. The small boy let his eyes close a bit before he threw his head back and fell onto the bench once more. Pulling himself up again and again just as he had. He usually didn't do this much training even when he was in a good mood. Once he had with Hatchi. On accident though, he had just tried to do as much as his sensei without thinking that Hatchi's level was much higher and he could endure more. None the less he lifted himself once more.

The boy pulled and pressed himself constantly. He didn't even bother to look over to the door anymore , he had given up on the fact that he would ever have to stop. For a second he thought of all the good that would come of this, but the small boy didn't really feel so much himself today, he had been such a wimp before too when he tried kicking that first time while training for taijutsu. It was not the Tekkenseisai way. He smacking the bench with his head, as his abs burned so that they almost became numb by now. He flung his head up to get himself going again. There was no stopping, now.

Tsuyosa wondered if Raine was working or not now. it was possible that he had given up. If so He would have to shape Raine up, train him in the lifestyle of a ninja, and a clan member. He was the only one who had come to his call. It might mean that the others were dead, most likely. He needed a good, strong heir. To take over the clan for future generations, if there were any. For a second he thought about how many possible Tekkenseisai there could be. Raine could have children, he thought back to the Tekkenseisai family tree. His brother was dead and so was his father. The thoughts pulled him back to himself. He could have children.... Tsuyosa rolled over the thought, and quickly pulled himself off. Roughly he spoke. "Continue Hikaru I have to check on the boy." He earnestly walked to the training room, training to get his mind on other things. He stopped outside the door for a second. Raine hadn't stopped, he was still doing crunches, each one it was obvious that he struggled but completed it none the less. He looked zoned out and drained. A bought of sympathy hit him. "Raine. You can stop now. Take a break, but be back by lunch." He said cooly as the child turned to him.
