"I believe that would insure the first slot in my list of priorities," he replied calmly, and then added with a slight touch of amusement, "As well as the unquestioning belief that I'm working for Mockingbird."

"Well, you're certainly not working for me," Lex said with complete seriousness. "We both had to fight Mockingbird in the past. But, at the risk of sounding cliche, he offered me something that I could not refuse." He locked eyes with Deathstroke. "The death of Superman."

"As I've said, if that is to be my rate of pay, I will have absolutely no problem with agreeing with you on that," Deathstroke replied amiably. "Was their anything else?"

"Not at the moment," Lex replied. "Would you like your payment in cash, or wired to the account of your choice?"

"Wired," Deathstroke replied, handing the other man an account number.

Lex Luthor took the account number. "Very well. Expect the money to be there before the end of business hours today." A joking smile came over Luthor's face. "Usually, a policy on never selling or giving out such information is needed, but I'm figuring that you're your own insurance policy, aren't you?"

Wade sent Luthor a slightly impatient look. "Yes, of course," he replied coldly, the obvious undertone being 'you idiot'. "How will I be contacted?"

(( Luthor was joking about giving away the account number Deathstroke just gave him ))
An eyebrow shot up on Luthor's face. "Slade, learn to handle a joke. You'll need to. After all, you just agreed to work alongside the Joker." Luthor pulled out the cell phone Deathstroke called earlier. "You gave me your number earlier by calling this. If I need you, I'll use it. Also..." Lex opened up a drawer that held within a communicator-like device attached to a watch-like strap. Lex pulled it out, saying, "This device, a communicator, will be how Mockingbird will contact you." He handed it to Deathstroke.

((Oh, got you. It's one of those super secure Swedish accounts that you can only withdraw from in person. Actually. Just FYI. Hooray for paranoia!))
The mercenary accepted the device, then blinked. "Wait... WHO am I going to be working with?" he asked, sounding surprised for the first time since the interview's start.

(( I figured as much; this IS Deathstroke the Terminator, after all ))
"The Joker," Luthor said, amused at actually getting a reaction out of Slade Wilson, "As well as what appeared to be his new girlfriend, a magic user called the Mist."

"When, exactly, were you planning on mentioning this?" Deathstroke asked, obviously annoyed, or even angry. His one eye was certainly colder than ice. "The clown and I do not get along. Which you would have remembered if you'd spent even a second thinking about it."

Unfazed by the look in Slade's eye, Lex replied, "You don't get along with him. However, he gets along with you just fine."

Deathstroke glared for another moment, then abruptly turned and walked out of the room.

"Since you haven't added anything, I'm going to assume you still agree to the job," Lex replied.

There was no response, verbal or otherwise, but as Lex's head was still attached to his shoulders, this could probably be taken as an affirmative.
