Richard shrugged. "it's been hard..." He said in all honestly, recalling the packs upon packs of gum he had been chewing. "I've been dying for one for a few weeks now... but..>" He shrugged, trying to make it sound like no big deal. he really needed one bringing Lorey over here to see the house for the first time, and again after they almost got intimate. His nerves were practically screaming at him.

"But I'm so proud of you. I know it's difficult. I remember my mother trying to quit twice and it never worked." Lorey kissed him and relished the fact that he didn't smell like smoke. That had always driven her a little crazy.
"And you know what?" she asked with a little cheeky grin. "I think... that I just might deserve this house and everything in it after everything we've been through." That was what she was working on, that recognizing when she got something and truly deserved it instead of thinking of herself as a nothing all the time.

Richard smiled, hugging her before making her look at him, witha goofy smile on his face. "Its about time you realized that!" He made an over exaggerated sigh, rolling his eyes as he went in for a quick peck on the lips.

"Well, it takes a long time for these things to get through to me!" Lorey knew that she needed to pluck herself up and know how wonderful she was, but it was so difficult for her to truly grasp onto something that wasn't Richard for fear she would lose it too soon.

Richard laughed, glad she was finally getting it. He kissed her cheek, before yawning a bit. "Man...I'm exhausted... You think we should head to bed? I can check to see how bad it leaked tomorrow, and then we can explore the attic." He offered, rolling his shoulders with a pop.

"Ooh, attic exploring. Let's do that after we wake up. It'll be the first time waking up in our new home..." Lorey stood from her seat and offered her hands to Richard. It worried her that he could become so stiff in his back and shoulders so easily, but maybe that was simply because they hadn't had decent beds for years of their life.

Richard nodded, wanting to be excited but was yawning too much. "Sounds wonderful to me love..." He sighed, scooping her up in his arms like the bride she would soon be. "Darling, just imagine, soon I'll be carrying you just like this, up to our bedroom, you wearing a lovely wedding gown, looking more angelic than you usually do..." He smiled lovingly, carrying her towards the stairs, hitting the light switch with his shoulder on the way up.

Lorey wasn't about to point out why they'd be going up the stairs, since it would definitely cause some awkward times before sleeping, so she just kissed him and let it go.
Once they were upstairs, Lorey changed into her pajamas, not caring anymore if Richard saw her or not since he'd seen a great deal more than he ever had on the couch. It was alright, for him to see her change then. "What time will you be waking up?" she asked as she pulled her top over her head.

Just because it was ok for him to look, didn't mean he would. He felt a bi awkward still about what had almost happened and how far they had really gotten. Lorey was a stunning creature, there was no question. And he wouldn't mind seeing more of her, but his conscious effort to stay chaste was pulling on him not to.
He did however get a slight glimpse, blushing bright red as he slipped his pants off, setting them over the door to finish drying, doing the same with his shirt. "Um- I'm not sure yet. I'd like to wake up pretty early... If there really is a leak in the roof, I had better get up there to fix it pretty early on, before it gets too late in the day, becoming too unbearably hot." He pointed out, turning around so he could quickly change boxers without her notice, since they too were damp from the rain. He put on some pj bottoms, deciding just to sleep shirtless, wondering secretly if Lorey had a preference herself.

Lorey had her black tank top on and long fleece pajama bottoms when she hopped into bed. The sheets were missing, since they were being washed, but she was hardly picky about such things as having a mattress at all was something to be thankful for. "I think I'll wash the blankets and everything tomorrow. The washer is so big that we can probably wash the pillows, too. And then there's all the other things..." Lorey cuddled up to Richard, who she had to admit, she loved seeing shirtless. His build was something she marveled at, and though it wasn't too cuddly, she loved it.

Richard kissed her head, taking in her smell again before sighing deeply. "That sounds good...get all that musty smell out of them. Probably partially from the moisture getting in from the attic... You know It;d also be good, because I dont want you out in the heat with all the fumes we'll be working around...I want you to stay cool and healthy ok?" He looked over to her concerned.

As much as Lorey knew she wasn't the strongest thing in the world, sometimes it bothered her how much Richard worried about her health. Still, it was better than him not caring at all. "Don't worry, I'll be just fine. I've felt sleepy all day because of the clean air. It's wonderful..." She kissed him and closed her eyes, feeling content. They were home. "I love you, Richard."

Richard smiled, sighing a bit as he wrapped his arms about her gently, giving her a soft cuddle. "I love you too darling..." He cooed, as sleep fought viciously to win him over. and soon enough it did, and soon enough- he was snoring lightly and content as ever in their new home.

The next morning came all too soon. Lorey felt like she hadn't really slept, but maybe that was from the excitement of the previous day. As she opened her eyes, she saw Richard sleeping, and heard him snoring softly. At least he was alright, she thought. The experience of waking p in their home was something new. The way the light came in through the window, the way everything smelled. The place didn't quite feel like theirs yet, but they'd add in their touches and take away some that were added by others. Today was a day to do just that.

Richard would have been content in sleeping hours longer, if it weren't for the sunlight that was slowly creeping its way up his sleeping body, to his serene face. After a moment it started to stir him ecspecially when it hit around his eyes. He moaned a soft but tired sigh as he stretched a little, quiet popping noises emitting from here and there, on the spots where he hadn't moved what felt like all night. He squinted his eyes open to look over to Lroey, to whom he gave a goofy smile. "Good morning love..." He whispered, sleep still clinging to his being.
