Duna was off prowling the outer walls, when he felt the first sparks of darkness about his whiskers blowing in from the eastern hills.
'What the....' he thought, feeling energy come to him in waves.
He pulled the energy, worked it against itself, envisioning a chord of lightning, and grew larger to panther-size.
His eyes glowed with anger at what he had seen, and at the dark taint of the magic that encircled it.
He roared loudly, claws unsheathing as he tore into the ground and ran up the turrets and into the castle to deliver the news of the Elvish defeat.

Chiku, or rather, Lileta, blushed.
"Welll...ummmm...errr...Thank you. But, I guess we should go see if other people here are possessed with shadowlinge, huh? Y'know, clear up this place before we do anything."

Rey agreed with Lileta's suggestion, and walked towards one the room's windows. What he saw took him by surprise. Darkness was barely visible in the horizon, and he had a hard time telling what it was. Once he focused, he had no doubt. That was an unnatural darkness. He sensed a powerful being closing in towards them, but he didn't know it was Duna. He immediately went on the defensive, prepared for the worst. - Lileta, Kazemira, we have trouble! - He said, while undergoing his transformation.

"Call me Lili", she said, as she nodded and swished her tail, taking on a fierce look.
When Duna rounded the corner, Lili could have nearly laughed, were it not for the look of grave seriousness on his face.

Lia was confused by the hybrids readines for action. Could they not sense Duna's presence, or had his power surge hindered their senses?
Whatever the case, Aurelia approached the enormously powerful cat, careful to keep a respectful, but familiar distance. She stared into his deep eyes.
"Where?" was all she said.

Rey was somewhat relieved to see him, but that quickly faded away. He kept his watch over the window, his tail spikes growing slowly and sharpening constantly, hardening.
I think it's from the east. There might've been a village or the like over there. Judging from that darkness, those things are obviously involved. If you guys don't mind, I'll scout ahead. - He said, small wings spread, slightly crouching into a running position.

Lili blinked intently as she changed into her dragon form. "I'm going too. Surely it can't harm to have back-up." With that, she swished into a breeze that swept her off to the village.

Kitrine had been doing...gods knows what, she certainly didn't anymore. All she knew was this infernal darkness, a darkness that was spreading to her mind. She felt like covering her face and screaming, but her body wouldn't let her do that. What was wrong with her? She could see a fountain in front of her, the one from the town center. 'How did they get a fountain?' She thought to herself among other things. She wondered briefly if she could throw herself into it. Would that stop the darkness? Of course, her body did not cooperate. It just kept going forward.

Duna rubbed a little against Lia, his fur bristling with energy and causing her hair to fluff a little with the static.
"Follow me, my Catling," he purr-growled seriously, "We must run far and long, as the drag-brids take to the sky. Let us hurry, it more than a few miles, and we must make it before they do."

Rey saw Lili's departure as a challenge, which was strange to him. When he saw her flying, he only thought of getting there faster. This, added to the fact that it was an emergency that drove them there, only helped to hasten his steps. He used his small wings as foils, helping him to run even faster. He had to follow Lili, though, since he had no idea where he was going, as he couldn't see the spreading shadows from his standing point.

Lili was not really sure how she knew where the shadowlinge was and how she managed to drift along to the right place. But, as she gently landed and resumed her elf form, that chilling, discouraging feeling told her that it must have been the place. She looked behind her for Rey.
"Do you see anyone around?"

No, I don't. - He said, looking around him. It was strange. Everything was quiet, but not in a serene, peaceful way, but in a strange, stagnant way. Everything seemed...dead. There was no breeze, no smells. There wasn't a trace of life in their sorroundings. Everything seemed drained.

Lia had nodded in recognition to Duna, and the two dashed out of the castle after the other two. It was a little while before they caught up with the other standing at the edge of a deserted town. Lia quietly panted as she stopped to scrutinize her surroundings.
It had been inhabited not to long ago, but now was...grey. Everything was off. No animals, no trees, no wind. Nothing moved or had a spirit she could feel.
A chill ran down her spine and sent her fur bristling. She noticed the others could feel it as well.
"The shadowlinge is still here...and someone else is too."
She sniffed the air.
" Duna, can you smell it? It draws nearer yet, as does the little one with it. It's elven spirit is drained, but I can here it moving, and can smell that it is still alive."

Kitrine started feeling indifferent to everything. Her spirit, her will was drained. After all of this fighting she was tired and didn't wish to fight anymore. Who cared? So she would never see her loved ones again. So she would be filled to bursting with darkness. Someone would come eventually and get rid of it for her.
Then suddenly a flame of anger shot up and she tried, yet again, to summon her precious wind. Not to try and ward away the darkness, but to feel the wind...if she could just feel the wind upon her skin, feel anything...There would be hope.

"Well, then, we better see if there is anyone here in hiding."
With that, she focused to summon the wind.
O Great and powerful wind, my master and loyal servant, find all within this town and bring them to me.
The wind rustled throughout the town.
