Veyes eyes flicked over to the little green that had broken out of its shell. The cute question mark tail tugged a broad grin to his face. He would have laughed but if he did, he'd be coughing. However, THAT was about the most adorable sight he had seen in awhile. Of course with a tail like that he could almost guess that their would be numerous questions and an impish nature to go with her.

He took a count on his fingers...mm...One bronze, one blue, one green...Ok. Then his eyes drifted back towards the bronze, who seemed quite content to settle into that one spot on the sand. Veyes' imagination was returned to his vivid stories of moment before. Oh he was certain that one would wait a bit longer because there was something the boy had to be waiting for.

The green would impress first...He was sure of that!

The corners of Westren’s mouth twitched upward slightly when the Bandybandy egg hatched, revealing a Green. Her unfortunate landing and the following raise of her tail were in keeping with the impression he had gotten from her egg: clumsy and a little silly, but in an endearing way. He looked between both the Green and the Bronze, but his gaze lingered on the Green; he doubted that he was Bronze material.

Mathyn took Notos hand, "I'm Mathyn, nice to meet you, Notos." His mother's words echoed in his mind, always say someone's name after they introduce themselves, it helps with remembering.

Mathyn nodded toward the bronze, "I certainly hope I'll hear his story." He did not want to keep Notos talking for too long, he didn't want to be a distraction.

Jessan nodded as another boy joined them. The bronze certainly seemed to be checking every single Candidate in the Sands. The good news was he hadn't gone between and didn't seem likely too... The bad news was the wait was starting to upset his stomach. Greatly. Knots formed over and over again, turning his innards into some sort of puzzle.

When the green hatched, Jessan hissed softly. What a sweet looking girl! Her marking, her manner, even her tail raised up curiously. Hands by his sides, he didn't realize that they were clenched in excitement. "What do you think this girl will do?"

He whispered this to the others as he tried to peer around and see where the bronze had gone. "This hatching certainly is an interesting one."

Ariaen watched as a green hatched. "A green, huh..." she said softly. Some deep part of her betrayed her feelings about the Touching, secretly wanting the dragon to choice her. She pushed the idea away, and just focused on watching the Hatching.

It wasn't like she cared if the green didn't Impress on her. It didn't matter if she wasn't chosen.

Or so she told herself.

Sharding idiots. They're lucky someone hadn't died yet, or something, be it hatchling or foolish candidate. Clearly, Z'nal was going to step up his game. That man was on of the few who had a reputation fiercer than himself and for whatever reason, he hadn't manged to scare the stupidity out of some of these brats. There are some people who are just not meant to stand, F'sey finally decided to himself, clearing his throat. When the tickle wouldn't go, he coughed a little and looked around.

"You with the blue, over here!" he called. Better get that one off the sands with the green and the bronze running around. That bronze was getting a little worrisome. There was something to be said for taking one's time, but this was getting ridiculous. F'sey had to hope the bronze's rider was actually standing; it would be tragic if he-

...whoa.

Stumbling a little, F'sey shook his head and rubbed a temple. When in Farnath's name did the sharding sands get so hot? He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. He was just thinking too much. No use getting antsy. Dragons would be dragons, but as soon as he got all the weyrlings to bed, he was crawling back to his own weyr and right into his hammock.

Saraket, like most of the people, had been watching to see who the Bronze would choose, when he decided to get around to it. When the worried Blue's Chosen had stepped forward to lead him to the Feeding Tables, she'd let out a sigh of relief, smiling in spite of herself.

In the interlude that followed, the weird acoustics of the Sands brought the sound of discreet coughing to Saraket's ears. Curious, she searched for the source, and saw none other that her flamboyant 'friend' Kyllae. Was she okay? Saraket wondered, studying Kyllae's face intently. Shells, please let her not be drunk on the Sands! Though, really, drinking just seemed to make Kyllae loud, not cough.

Sparing a glance towards the eggs, Saraket moved slowly through the throng of girl Candidates until she was at Kyllae's elbow.

"Um..." she whispered, trying but not quite mustering up the nerve to tug on Kyllae's robe. "Are you okay?"

Just then, the BandyBandy egg hatched, and out tumbled a little Green. Saraket nearly missed it if not for the increased noise from the crowd.

"I'll see you around then." Notos flashed a grin to Mathyn, making it a statement. On a side note, Notos was interested in the same story.. It might turn into one of those often repeated stories that you told around the fire with a cup of klah.

Distracted from his conversation with Jessan's whisper, Notos couln't help but reply.. "... I don't know. Choose someone?" Notos raised an eyebrow, humoring the other man.The male was apprehensive, tense, by the looks of his balled fists. He knew the male was excited, wanting to impress. Silently reviewing over the people that he did know in the crowd, Kiriwar.. Jessan.. Jiriar.. Mathyn were all liable to impress! Notos did want each of them to impress, and who knows? It might be this hatching. Or the next.

"S'gotta be one of the more interesting, but it's gettng a bit long." Notos winced, he had been making an attempt to term it nicely. The booming voice had also been a bit damaging to his ear. Partially unexpected, Notos rubbed at the side of his head to ease the pain that had entered his head.

The tiredness had tucked itself away in the back of his mind for now, but Notos knew that they'd get tired eventually. He wanted a bed, when it came to that.

Jahangir was closer to the back of the candidates watching the hatching, his heart pounding away in his chest. He was glad and disappointed the blue had found his partner, glad that the dragon had found someone but still disappointed it hadn't been him.

He wondered what the bronze was thinking about and who it was looking for. Would he choose soon or would another hatch and pick a partner before the bronze did? So many questions were running through his head and all he could do was wait for the answers.

Ferris couldn't help but coo rather loudly as the little green tumbled into the sand. Whether it went to her or not she couldn't say, and she had been to so many hatchings now that she stopped allowing her innards to do backflips out of anticipation. She still fidgeted, though, slowly raising herself up and down on the balls of her feet, her arms folded under her chest.

She flickered her eyes back to the still meandering bronze. "Choosy little baby, that one," she muttered to herself, tilting her head in the process, her body getting taller then moving back to its normal short stature as she fidgeted. Fidget fidget. She almost felt kinda bad for the boys. ...Almost. Ish.

-------
Annelie was late. ....Again. Even more late than the last time, which caused Yansanth to crank up the 'whine' volume in her voice until the happenings at the hatching began to be relayed.

Anneeelieeeeeeeeee.... What's happening? Oh do tell, please Mine, we need to know who gets what so that we can congratulate them! Yansanth pressed, pleading. Annelie had thought it best that the young queen not come; there was too much going on, little room and there was no need for any further distraction for the dragonets. Yansanth would most likely start cooing and trying to sneakily hoard them away and that would be too big of a mess to fix. Not to mention it could cause dire repercussions.

I'm trying to see, Dear. ... There's an awful lot of people and -- there's a bronze out on the sands, and a little green just hatched. Annelie stood up on her tip-toes with some surprising ease, really, from the entrance of the grounds. But she could only catch enough glimpses to tell the color and nothing more -- there were just too many people.

How cute! A bronze and a green, how Mine, what are they doing? Have they impressed? Annelie...

Yansanth, I can't see anything more.

But... but Mine! Oh... Is there someone you could ask? Someone has to be there that can see what's happening.

The tone in the young queen's voice was really the only thing that got Annelie to even think about looking around and possibly asking some stranger what was happening. She looked to the right and was met by the entrance wall, so she then looked to the left and noticed Cil-- C'ym, and then Hanumanth, who was somewhat outside. How she hadn't noticed that bronze was beyond her, but anyways.

Anneliee, I can tell you see someone~

It's C'ym and Hanumanth

OH PERFECT! Go ask them, I'm sure they'll help! Go, Mine, go!

Noooo Yansanth... euhghkmsdsdflkjsdflkjsdf

what was that, Mine? I didn't catch that last part...

Nothing, I said NO

But Anneliee!

The green peered up at Nimwae, her eyes whirling a little, tail flicking out of it's question mark shape as she wiggled a little, lifting and spreading her wings a little as if she were trying to balance herself out. Lifting her head, tipping only a little as she regained her balance, she stumbled forward a little more, bumping into a nearby candidate by accident, knocking them over but otherwise causing no damage. For a moment she took her eyes off of the other girl to glance down at the candidate, looking a little apologetic as she glanced back up at Nimwae.

May you tell them I am sorry? Lernaeth did not mean to. She is very clumsy.

The green paused for a moment, as if she had not focused completely on Nimwae after she had knocked the other candidate down. Now she had, and she sent a wave of curious, excited, happy feelings towards her, her eyes beginning to whirl with a slight giddiness.

NimwaeMine, why did you not pick up Yours when she fell? You were there, you wanted to, but you did not! Silly, very silly.

The curious voice sounded neither upset nor distressed, only curious as she stumbled nearly right up against her rider, pushing up onto her back feet and craning her neck up, fluttering her wings to try to keep herself balanced.

Lehpas stood near the end of the semi-circle of candidates. Having stood on the sands a few times before, he was not quite so overwhelmed by the possibilities before him now. Still, it was every boy's dream to impress one of the great beasts and be able to fly the skies of Pern.

The young lad watched as one dragonet, then two joined them on the sands. The blue seemed quick to choose it's life-mate, while the bronze sat and took his time about choosing. Lehpas wondered, could he be looking for me? Watching the bronze dragonet, he noticed that it never looked in his direction. What would a mighty bronze want with just a kitchen boy, anyway, he thought.

Cracking eggshells pulled his attention to a small plain egg in time to see a green tumbling out. He almost went to help her as she fell face first into the sand. Catching himself before he stepped forward, he glanced around to see if anyone noticed his almost infraction of the rules.

Sighing, he watched the little green as she blinked at those closest to her. When he was here on the sands, he wanted with his utmost being to impress a dragonet. In between the hatchings, he enjoyed helping out the cooks in the lower caverns. In those times, he wondered how becoming a dragonrider might change what he enjoyed doing and doubted his desire to impress a dragon. Looking over the eggs now, remembering the look on the boy's face that just impressed the blue, all that was forgotten. He wanted to be a dragonrider.

The bronze was sitting, waiting, considering. A stately lord upon a throne of golden sand. No not a lord but the son of one and the future would tell if he would be one to take the power that seemed to be suggested in the regal start. He didn’t look upset he didn’t look like he was about to go between. Although he was taking his sweet time. And he could see that some of the other riders still worried over the little ones fate. After all he knew that the fact was a bronze was more highly prized than greens and blues. Not that he agreed with this assessment but it seemed to hold true for most people.

Oh but then another egg wobbled. The crowd before him shift blocking his view! He shuffled awkwardly on his feet of course Ren was never one to be rude or careless but he was a bundle of nerves and he knew that he could not miss this, not when his future partner might still be there. Keen eyes suddenly spotted a gap between the press of candidates, then using his skinny frame to his advantage pushed through to the front.

His gaze was filled with the perfect picture of the little green with the question mark tail and he smiled delighted to get a clear view of the little one. Resisting the urge to call to the green he glanced back to the Bronze only to see he was completely exposed! Standing in front and away from the previous protection of the crowd. Eyes going wide he instantly sought protection and some security while still be able to see the hatching. Ahhh! He spotted Vesyes not far away. And someone he counted a friend although he was not sure what the older boy thought of him. He hoped it was with a similar fondness and he slipped over to his side.

Safety in numbers. He noted that he looked a little strained, like he was almost in pain, but maybe that was just the nerves, many people on the sands wore similar expressions after all. Since he didn’t want to disturb things he smiled at him as he moved in closer and gently touched his arm as way of greeting before turning hazel hues back onto the green. As many others thought he was sure that she would probably be first to choose. And it seemed that this was corrected as the banded green stumbled towards the girls to select her lifemate, knocking someone over but with no serious damage.

Nelioa scooted closer to the eggs, sweeping her way through the cluster of canidates and towards the front of the girls group. While she was tall, she still wanted to be able to have a better view and to see what was going on front handedly. She saw the little green take a stumble and moved back, caught in a sea of moving canadaites she lost her footing and stumbled against another girl.

The other girl hadn't broken her fall though, and down the tall girl went into the hot sands. She huffed and quickly stood up again, dusting off the sand from her tunic and leggings. "so sorry." she mummbled to the crowd around her, her face flushing. Normally she didnt let her clumbsy nature bother her, but she had just managed to take a dive in front of everyone, thankfully she assured herself that no one had been watching and that all eyes where on the green and her new rider.

Jahangir watched with bated breath as he noticed the green knock over one candidate. He hadn't noticed the green at first, having been distracted by the bronze and was a little bit shocked to find another dragonette in the sands. One that seemed a little clumsy but that had already found their partner.
