Waikiki KiKi smiled. "Well, if you want to. But if you don't like it let me know." She would go out of the water with him if he didn't end up liking it.

KiKi splashed in the water. To her it didn't feel that much different. It was nice and slightly warm compared to the lake water. The other difference was she could see in the water. It was crystal blue and clear. So pretty. THe lake was more green and murky.

Kaelia looked at the fae and thought. "Well, I can with most things. Not all, though." She wasn't sure what "fibrous" meant and hadn't discovered what all she could make glow. She knew plants mostly.

Hula Bob frowned. Yes, that was the solution that made the most sense. He just wasn't sure how to. He knew Jazz could float it at least part and then maybe all the relations could hold on and fly it with their wings, but he wasn't sure where to put it. Should he leave his beach and move to where the real beach was? Move to the ocean and real surf? It hurt his heart to even think about.

"Alright," but Zuri wouldn't admit that he didn't like it and ruin her fun. He was going to like this water! But why did it burn to swim? Maybe he was right about the salt water being toxic to naiads... or maybe it was just him. Deciding to ignore the strange sensation, Zuri ducked under the water and swam around underneath and around Waikiki Kiki, looking at what the environment under the surface looked like.

It was certainly pretty. The fish were unusual compared to the ones he had known so long, and there was an abundance of this stupid slimy green plant that he had to keep moving away from. There was a much harder plant, too; a plant some fish were hiding it. It looked rather hard and pink. Zuri reached out a hand to touch it, but drew it back, deciding that might be a bad idea. Some of those edges looked rather sharp.

When he came back up to the surface, Zuri didn't quite notice himself, but it seemed that he had gained a few hives on his face... "Some of the stuff down there is really weird!" offered the naiad, excitedly. Maybe this salt water wasn't so bad, even if it did burn...

-----------

If she could do that for most things, it would still be a very useful power. The faerie was interested in asking her to make some things of his glow, but perhaps another time when she wasn't so busy trying to fix something unfixable. "Most things is still quite an amount." Criofan grinned, before offering a spare hand--his other hand was holding a bucket he plucked off the ground. "Ah don't think we've met. Ah'm Criofan O'Kane."

The introduction went for Hula Bob, too. After a momentary pause, he then asked, "So what's this about a fall?" The leprechaun really had no idea what happened 'overnight.'

Waikiki KiKi wondered what he meant. "Really?" She dove down under the water and went as deep as she could go. She saw what he meant. There were weird rocks and plants. Weird but very pretty.

She swam back to the surface. "Wow, that's neat. Really different from the lake."

"I'm Kaelia. Hula Bob's daughter. Nice to meet you." She smiled and gave him a nice bow. She went back to bailing out the bar.

Hula Bob smiled. "Yes, I'm Hula Bob. Well, it seems the island fell from the sky and landed in the ocean." He explained. He didn't know much more then that.

Aysu nodded in response. A tropical paradise could definitely be fun! "Let's go check it out!" She took Noel's hand again and headed out of the crowd, in the direction of the edge of the isle as she had known it. Her walking was fast at first, but then it slowed as a thought dawned on her. Wouldn't that make the isle a lot warmer?

"Will it still be cool enough for you?" asked Aysu, suddenly concerned again. She didn't want her Noel becoming too warm because their temperatures were more tropical than before.

Noel went along with Aysu, glad she wasn't nervous anymore. "I don't know?" She frowned at the the idea. She was feeling a bit warmer than she normally did. She made an ice blade and let it melt on her neck to cool her off. "Maybe the water will be cool?"

[chainedfaye]

Alaera followed as the Elder led her back out of HQer's and outside to the door. She caught sight of the note that she hadn't noticed before and scanned through it quickly. 'Could have given us some warning' she muttered under her breath before turning back to the elder.

"Well, thank you for the information........" Alaera stopped suddenly realizing she hadn't caught the others name. "But it doesn't really solve my problem. See there's a huge ravine cutting through Loki'Nei forest with me trapped on one side and my family on the others. Sally, Rosie, Reese, everyone! And they have no idea what's going on I bet they are worried sick! I just don't see how we are to get around it. Do you have any ideas?"

Ivy smiled at the girl. "What about flying?" Couldn't she just fly over the ravine? She wasn't sure, but maybe the other girl couldn't fly? It was known to happen. "I'm sure they are ok. I can help you find them if you like."

His skin felt like it was crawling. Why was it suddenly so itchy? The air didn't make him feel this bad. He couldn't resist reaching up and scratching his cheek rather roughly because it had begun to pain him, but he quickly grabbed the scratching hand with his other hand and forced both hands back in the water before Waikiki Kiki came back up to the surface.

Ignoring the feeling of an insatible itchiness, Zuri nodded. "The fish down there are so colorful! There's colorful fish in the lake, sure, but I think the fish down there are even more colorful. And did you see that weird pink rocky plant thing? Do you know what that is?" He was trying to talk about coral, but he had no experiences with coral prior to link it too. "The fish down there look like naiads with all of their pretty patterns."

The naiad couldn't resist ducking his head under the water again to get another look, but shortly came back up because he swore it burned his skin. Even the skin on his torso was beginning to crawl--just ignore it, he told himself. Ignore it.

-----------

Kaelia? He'd have to remember that. "Nice to meet you too, Kaelia." He gave a gallant bow in turn with a goofy grin, before straightening up to talk to Hula Bob. So the island had fell from the sky? That wasn't too strange. Criofan could accept that.

...Wait. The isle fell from the sky. That was extremely ******** strange. It took a few seconds for the leprechaun to absorb what Hula Bob had said, but when he did, he reeled backwards and quirked a brow in disbelief. "That's the most peculiar thing Ah've heard, and Ah've heard some very odd things." He paused again, before muttering to himself, "No wonder the bar moved."

How hadn't Criofan moved, for that matter? "It's good to see we're all in one piece."

-----------

"Hopefully." Aysu kissed Noel's cheek. "The area around water tends to be a little cooler, but I'm not sure if that's the same for oceans. It better be." That would be perfect! If it was always nice and cool near the water, maybe she and Noel could make their abode by the cool waters.

The naiad swung their hands between them, giggling cheerfully all the while. "I bet the ocean and its surroundings are beautiful. After all, we're in a tropical paradise." The air was certainly warmer than it had been recently, but the breeze coming from the direction of the water felt cooler and more pleasant; she had no doubts that her Ice Queen would appreciate that.

Aysu's cheerful dispostion was catching and now Noel was much more cheerful, even if she was a bit warm. "Yeah, I'm sure it is cooler."

"Not as beautiful as you of course." Noel said with a giggle. She knew this would be the perfect place for Aysu, so she hoped it would be for her too. "It's it cool enough maybe we could make a little house on stilts so you can jump into the water anytime you want?" She had seen a house like that in a book once.

Waikiki KiKi nodded before sticking her head under again. She did see all kinds of pretty fish. So many colors and so bright. The lake wasn't much like that. She also saw the rocky-plant things. She went back to the surface. "Oh, yeah. They are all so pretty. Maybe it's the coal stuff?"

"Nice to meet you to." She smiled back to Cirofan before getting back to work. He seemed like and interesting. If she wasn't' busy she would like to talk to him more.

"Very true dude, very true. Jazz and some others went to the HQ to find out more. I think Jet, Rain and Zoe came from there. What did it say?" He asked Jazz's relations.

Zoe, who was still keeping the water from coming in more, spoke. "It said the Guardian's did it and not to worry. Just enjoy the new land and places to go. Something like that." Her power was being uses so much that she was making mist and not meaning to.
PostPosted: Sat May 30, 2009 11:16 am

Zuri took the time that she was underwater to reach up to his neck and rake it with his fingernails in a vain attempt to get the itching to bloody stop. It gave a brief sensation of relief until the itch came back with a vengence, but he stopped himself from itching it any further when Waikiki Kiki reappeared. Zuri ended up twitching slightly, and he was beginning to look uncomfortable, but he forced himself to ignore it.

"Never heard of it," replied Zuri, with a bit of a shrug. "I guess that's what it would be." He noticed that when he settled his arms back fully in the water, the part that had been out of the water during his shrug suddenly began to burn. ...Was the salt water really toxic? Maybe he should find an excuse to leave.

But not when there was so much to explore! The naiad was visibly conflicted until he, once again, decided to ignore a growing problem. "This water is really cool! And look at the waves out there!" Zuri turned towards the larger waves that were coming towards the shore. "They're way better than the waves at the lake!" Great, now he was encouraging Waikiki Kiki to enjoy this toxic water.

-----------

Criofan would like to talk to Kaelia more himself, but it seemed like she was too busy with a hopeless task. He'd have to catch up to her later; she said she was Hula Bob's daughter, right? He could probably find her through him... He tuned back into the conversation to discover that the Guardians were responsible? What? Why did they decide that the sky wasn't good enough?

"The Guardians must be eejits," complained Criofan, not caring if the people near him particularly agreed or not. "What made them think this was a good idea? Were they bored or something? It's clearly causing more chaos than it's worth."

The leprechaun shook his head in disapproval, but said nothing further about how stupid it all was. "So Ah guess ya' need to find another place to put this bar." And hope the Guardians don't decide they're bored again...

-----------

"Ooh, that'd be nice." Aysu rubbed her chin. They would have to make it pretty stable because water could get windy, but then she could be in water easily and also on land easily. That would be the best option for her. Of course, love was also all about compromise, and she wasn't sure how hot the beaches would get over the summer even with the breezes.

"But what if the beaches get really hot over the summer? Then you'll be sick all the time, and I don't want that. Maybe we should wait on it." Aysu turned so she could kiss Noel's cheek. "I do have a place to stay until we figure it all out, and my house is your house." With a gentle smile, she turned back towards the approaching shoreline. The sands felt funny against her toes, and she giggled to herself.

The funny winged thing had been fun to watch while he was flailing at the splashed water...but he'd gotten boring now. All he was doing was talking to another thing. That wasn't any fun.

And what were they doing with those buckets? Eh, who knew...but it didn't seem like much fun. Especially not to watch.

Maybe the winged thing would do something fun again. But...there was no water here in the edges of the foliage. So...what could be used instead?

A few minutes later, a tiny pebble soared from the foliage towards Criofan's head. Without waiting to see the result of this action, there was a rustle and a giggle as a form darted to another safe location to watch without being caught.

Not a twig was broken, nor a shrub disturbed. The only sign left was the faintest of footprints in the bare dirt between the leaves.

Criofan was about to make another comment about the Guardians and how utterly stupid they were being when he felt something whack him in the head. "Ow!" He really wasn't on his game today; usually he was sharp enough to catch when something was going to hit him. First it was this stupid trick fall that the Guardians seemed to think was amusing, and now it was something being tossed at his head?! How had he missed that--Okeanos! "Okey, stop throwing stuff at me! How old are you?!"

Okeanos came up from under the water and then started laughing hysterically at Criofan as if that was the funniest thing he had ever heard ever in the history of his life. "I throw waves!" declared Okeanos, falling backwards into the water. "An' I didn't throw a wave! You funny when you mad, you know that?"

Ungrateful little b*****d--what? Criofan happened to glance down at the bucket he had picked up. Whatever had hit him in the head had managed to land in the bucket. He plucked it out of the bucket and turned it carefully in-between his fingers. It was just an ordinary pebble, but who had tossed it, and how had he missed it? It bothered him more than he would've liked, and therefore, he was going to find himself an answer.

"Ah'll be right back," Criofan offered to Hula Bob, before rubbing the spot on his head that hurt. It couldn't have been Okeanos who threw that pebble. Okeanos was in the water, and the side of his head where the rock had hit was not facing where Okeanos was. So where had it come from?

The bushes, maybe? ...Oh, it must've been Magnus. It sounded like the type of immature thing he would pull. After beckoning for his little naiad brother to follow along--not that he would--Criofan slowly crept over in the direction that the pebble had seemingly come from, ready to pounce a purple-headed faerie and hit him on the head repeatedly. The leprechaun cracked his knuckles and stretched his arms in preparation, but when he had gotten close enough, he soon discovered that there was no purple-hair peaking out from behind all of the bushes, nor was there that obnoxious giggling that was characteristic of his reactions.

There was a mysterious set of footprints though. In the shape of... what were those? Criofan bent down to get a closer look at the oval-shaped prints with a strange indent in them. He had never seen anything like that before! He glanced over his shoulder to make sure none of Hula Bob's relatives had anything like this for a foot before, but once this was confirmed, he stood back up and glanced in the direction the indents were heading.

Well, the only way he was going to get any answers was to follow the prints. Now putting his hand up so Okeanos would stay back in case this was something dangerous, Criofan quickly followed the odd prints.

The child naiad tilted his head. "What's Criofan doing?" He asked aloud, not necessarily expecting any kind of answer. Adults were stupid anyway.

Whatever it was that Criofan was chasing seemed perfectly comfortable in the wooded environment. Somehow, it always seems to remain just out of sight, though a rustle or a chuckle let the Fae know that he was still on the right track.

It was as if the creature believed this to be a game, happily leading the Fae on a wild chase through the forest, no particular goal or destination in mind. Only the thought of keeping the game going.

PostPosted: Sat May 30, 2009 4:15 pm

Too bad he wasn't faster. Criofan was quickly growing tired of chasing this... thing around, whatever it was. At least he was lucky enough to keep on the right track, even though his pace was slowing down. The leprechaun was good as a sprinter for quickly escaping any rough situations, but beyond that, it was hard for him to keep that fast pace consistent.

Maybe he could get this thing to talk beyond that stupid chuckling. "Hey!" called Criofan into the foliage of the forest, beating a branch out of the way in the meantime. "Ah didn't ask to play a game of 'find the thing with the weird feet.'" Not that the thing with the weird feet would care. It seemed to be deriving some kind of amusement out of this, with the way it kept chuckling at him. "Eejit."

The leprechaun kept moving, but he wasn't so inclined to carry this on. Perhaps there was some way to lead it out of the forest. Whatever it was, it seemed a little too content to stay in these forests, and Criofan didn't have a doubt that this thing would be able to keep the chase going so long as they were in the forest. Maybe if Criofan could get this thing back on the sands, it would be easier to catch... or at least easier to see. How could he possibly lure it out, though? He had no idea what it was and what could possibly distract it.

He glanced up, looking for an answer, but not finding one. So, instead, "Ya know, ya being a coward with this continuous running away! Why don't ya face me?" Okay, that was a little dumb and it sounded like it came out of a horrible book, but maybe it would work... Nah. The Fae really needed a better idea. Like actually getting it out of this foliage.

Texas knew that the Guardians existed. He had received a note from them and had been gifted with a power shortly afterwards; it certainly proved it. It was moments like this that made him doubt their abilities, though. If this really was a case of fading magic, why didn't they fix it so the isle would be undisturbed? What would be more powerful than them that would make them continue sinking anyway? Perhaps they weren't so powerful after all.

Admittedly, that thought was a little frightening, too. ... Swinging around would take longer, but, "Anything away from the damned sulfur is good with me." Briefly, Texas became jealous of Zuri's new complaints. How he would love to not be able to smell that sulfur. ...Of course, that would also mean that he couldn't smell the pleasant sea air. Maybe that wasn't a good idea after all.

"Well, let's get going." Magnus motioned to Kane and Texas before heading in a direction that would allow them to swing around the bloody volcano. That sulfur choked him... but he really didn't want to walk so much, either. Which was why he wanted to get it over with as soon as humanly possible.

Texas chuckled, following after the faerie quickly. "You're awfully motivated."

"Yeah, well, I like getting some damn answers." And he liked being able to figure out what the answers were.

The new path hadn't revealed much that they didn't already know. It was just more of the same, with no new information provided...but at least that cursed sulfur wasn't blocking his senses.

Kane let out a subconscious growl, his twitching tail betraying his growing anxious tendency to want to cover more ground quickly. But if he transformed, he'd leave the other two behind in no time. Not that he cared, of course...but it seemed a better plan to keep bouncing ideas off one another as they'd been doing.

Still, swinging wide had carried them farther from the marshlands and into the edges of the forest. The firm ground and trees overhead were a welcome change, at least for Kane, as he felt more at home here than anywhere else on the isle.

Senses on alert as always, Kane's ears twitched at each tiny sound, his slitted eyes scanning the darker portions of the forest. Suddenly, he halted, holding out a hand to stop the other two. "Hey...either of you hear that?" His voice was quiet, eyes still scanning the area. Sounded like...someone or something running...maybe...but it was still at a distance for now.

Aspen smiled and just held onto the moment. It wasn't often he found these moments with Takeko. The older you get the less romantic you get he suppossed.

Aspen kissed her cheek and then broke the hug, "Let's go see what Melek has packed for us, ok?" He reached down and took her had as he wanted a part of her with him.

Takeko smiled, rising and standing on her tiptoes to give Aspen a kiss on the cheek. "Alright, love." Her hand in his, she followed her mate to the kitchen.

Melek was just scrambling down from the tabletop, arms full of various pieces of fruit, enough to make a fruit salad at this rate. He grinned and raced over to his parents, dropping an apple that rolled across the floor. "Breakfast!" he exclaimed proudly.
PostPosted: Sat May 30, 2009 4:45 pm

"That's true." She pondered how she could get cooled down if need be. A freezer? That could work...

Noel giggled with Aysu and then ran for the water. "Try it out!" She yelled to Aysu. She wanted to see the naiad swim in such beautiful water. She edged to the water and tried it with her toes, it felt cool and nice.

Aspen smiled and squeezed Takeko's hand. He was just happy everyone was ok. He hoped Mei Lien and Saffron were ok as well.

"Wow, Melek, I think that's enough food for weeks." He chuckled and picked up the apple that had fallen and rolled across the floor.

"Man this thing is huge..." Trager said more out of intrigue then complaint as she carried entered a sitting room in HQ. She tapped on it, unsure of why it was changing. "Do you think its like... growing into a tree or something..." she asked Azure who was sitting in the room. Trager had only looked at it for the first time since the island's descent just now and was surprised that it had changed. "I just kept it to toss around... and then left it in the corner of my room... and look at it now..."

Azure glanced at her curiously, he hadn't really paid attention to it enough the first time to notice a change, but it was quite larger then these things seemed to be. "I don't even understand why you held onto it..." Azure commented as he looked at it. Azure was studying it as Trager moved across the room in a pace. "I don't think it'd grow into a tree... I mean you haven't been watering it, have you... unless there's like a leak in the corner of your room" Azure shrugged his shoulders and held up is hands, "Toss it here."

Trager shook her head violently, "No I think there is something special about this, I mean look at it." She held it up in front of him, pausing in her pace long enough for him to see it, opting not to toss it in case it was fragile.

"It's just a nut Trager, kind of like you." he laughed and nodded his head. "Maybe you're right, maybe there is some sort of magic to it." He had always been excited by magic as a child and had sort of forgotten about it as he grew, but now he was triggered to remember.
