Ookamimaru shook his head.
" 'll faind eet just fain."
He would just go for the kaze dojo and then avoid her smell.
Shouldn't be a problem for him at all. Scents where his speciality.
"guesh I'll go than"
He said when he got up and walked to the door of the cold room.
"'ll faind tha way out, u can starrt lesson alrdy"
That last was directed more to Ren than to Psyche. He smiled at them when he already placed his hand on the handle of the door.
He will he able to the door now, he has seen how it had to be done enough times.
It struck him how eager he was to go to the kaze dojo. In the few days he was there, he had already accepted it as his home.

Ren waved goodbye eagerly at Ookamimaru as he opened the door to the room, "Good luck!"
He watched him leave but continued to stare at the open doorway. Ren was still thinking about recent events and it had his mind preoccupied.

Psyche sweetly smiles at Ookami and raises her hand to give him a mock salute. This one has a good heart. Her friend was right. The kid has a good soul.
"Rock on, Ookami. Have fun, train hard, and come back to see me any time."
The fox looks back to Ren and inquisitively tilts her head.
"Well, where do we start? Or do you wanna get settled into your room first?"

"N-No..!"
Ren turned to Psyche and clenched both fists in front of his chest, "I have to start learning as soon as I can! I need to have another way of attacking my opponent before something else happens around here. I don't have enough chakra to use my earth techniques to their full potential; only enough to defend myself with."
He waited for Psyche's reply while still holding his fists clenched. Ren imagined what Kaimen would have said if he had chosen to settle in a room instead.

"Okie dokie, then..."
Psyche falls backwards to reclaim the couch. Her legs idly dangle off the arm rest. The golden eyes stare up at the ceiling as she talks.
"Tell me about how you use Tsuchi? How do you summon it? We'll get you started on Ho by incorporating what you know of Tsuchi into it."

Ren turned to the door and started to walk out, "Is that ok? Can we go outside and I'll tell you?"

The fox grins. She rolls off the couch, and is enveloped with sapphire blue foxfire. The big white fox returns, and it follows Ren.
"Alrighty. Lead the way, Ren. It'll be a learning opportunity for the both of us."

"Ok!" Ren saluted her and went down through the dojo until they were outside.
He soon remembered that the surrounding area of the Ho Dojo was burnt and charred from the immense heat it gave off. Ren chose a spot at least 30 feet away from the dojo where it was kind of vegetated. He wasn't familiar with charred landscape.
"Well first, I uhh."
He went into a straddled stance and held both of his fists to his sides.
"I release a certain amount of chakra into the surrounding area. So I can manipulate the stuff that's below me more easily. Then if I use more chakra I'm able to form harder material."
Ren focused chakra through his lower body to be channeled into the ground. He punched his right fist upwards as a thin pillar of rock shot up in front of the uppercut. The pillar fell to the ground in rubble when Ren stopped focusing on it.
"I don't have enough chakra to do it a lot though.. I don't know how Kaimen-sensei did it."

The fox digs a paw into the ground as Ren does his thing. She's picking up his energy as it flows into the ground and molds the earth. Psyche kind of feels the flow and how his energy works. And she notices how the boy uses body movements to manipulate the earth. Psyche has seen Iri do this. Used to, the fox would do it, too. But Psyche gave up physical cues, training her mind to work without them, so her tricks could be more covert. In time, she's sure Ren will do the same.
"Okay then..." Foxfire envelopes Psyche, and the woman stands up. "Let's give this a shot."
Psyche gathers up a few sticks and twigs, dry forest debris. When she has sufficient material, she crouches and starts to form a sort of tent formation with them. Then she looks at Ren and jerks her head to the ground, beckoning him to sit beside her.
"Here's the idea. With Tsuchi, you put your energy into the ground and will it to move. Part of doing this is mind over matter. I want you to do something similar. Touch these twigs, load them with your energy, and focus on heating your energy up. Think of sparks and candle flames, not bonfires and bombs, okay? Pace yourself. But I want you to catch the twigs on fire."

Ren went over to Psyche and sat beside her while listening to her instructions. He had a confused look on his face when she was done talking. Ren understood the first part, but he couldn't comprehend the thoughts of starting a fire.
No, wait! I remember when I used that lighter to cook that piece of meat for Ookamimaru. Hmm.
Ren looked at Psyche and nodded before leaning forwards and placing a hand on the pile of twigs and sticks.
The veins around his eyes started to thicken, Byakugan!
He sat there with his hand on the twigs while trying to think of what to do next.
Ren pulled his hand away from the twigs and he looked at Psyche again, "Can I see you do it first, Psyche-sensei? I'm not sure how to... like, that's what I did with Kaimen-sensei's training. I looked at how he did it first."

The fox wordlessly nods. She puts one hand on the pile of twigs. Her energy originates from her core, flows down her arm and into her fingertips, then makes its way into the twigs. In its natural state, the energy is warm. What Psyche essentially does is increase the amount of energy while keeping it contained. This heats the energy. Then it's a matter of moving the energy from inside the sticks to outside the sticks, letting it run along the outsides of each twig until the dry sticks ignite. Once the fire gets going, Psyche lets the energy disperse. Now there's a pleasantly crackling fire in front of the two nin.
"Do you get how it works? If I wanted to, I could even burn the sticks from the inside out. That would be a good way to take out an opponent, supposing you can touch them long enough to transfer the energy. You can also form fire without fuel, actually use oxygen in the air to get it started, but this is easier for a beginner. Ready to try it now? If you are, get a few more sticks and give it a shot."

Ren's byakugan watched Psyche's chakra movement being applied to the twigs. He could see what was happening inside the twigs as they finally caught fire.
"Ok, I think I understand..."
Ren got up and went to go get more sticks and twigs. He came back and placed the bundle in a tent formation like Psyche did.
Ren placed a hand on the twigs and tried to copy what Psyche did. It took a couple of minutes for him to infuse the chakra into the twigs; since he had never done something like that before. He tried to remove the chakra he infused into the twigs for a few more minutes before taking his hand away.
He couldn't remove the chakra from the twigs to make it ignite.
Ren scratched his head in confusion.

Psyche already sees the problem.
"Keep in mind, energy does not have to be contained. Energy can move through or between molecules to get to its destination. It almost does it on its own. Feel how the heat radiates through the twigs? That's the energy trying to get to the surface. It wants the open air. So, let it do what it wants to. But remember to keep the energy sort of molded."

Ren looked to Psyche as she explained how the release of chakra should have worked.
He looked back to the twigs and placed two hands on each side of the tent-formation. Blue chakra was glowing off his hands as he pressured more chakra into the sticks. Ren started to feel a slight amount of heat coming off the sticks. He pulled both hands away immediately.
Some of the sticks split in half while there was a spark of fire at the top of the tent before it disappeared and collapsed. The spark wasn't enough to set the sticks on fire.
"Wait, uhh."

Psyche smiles, apparently pleased with the results of Ren's work. The woman is engulfed in foxfire, and when the flames disperse, she's nothing but a tiny kit again. She settles down on her belly, head on her paws. Time to get comfortable.
"Don't mind me. Just keep trying. You've got the idea. Now you've just got to fine tune your technique. Keep going until your run out of energy or you set the sticks on fire."
