"Well, how nice of you Kyst, we all know how much you like to cause chaos to those who do not know what you are up too." Another small chuckle to that as he played with the water a little bit. Though Kyst response to Galesen's question made the elf laugh for awhile, and when he sobered up he turned his head lightly to the sea elf and smiled. "That's true, though yes I will be entering again. I do so each time there is a tournament, it's fun and I enjoy going up against those here on Andal. There are some pretty good fighters around here." A pause as he thought things over then sighed a little, his mind drifting for a little while. "Kyst, have you ever heard of anyone's magic just growing stronger as the days go by with them not doing anything to contribute to its growth?"

"It only seems like that." Rubbing at her back soothingly to help lull her off. She never handled her alcohol well but that was working well in this case. Pressing a kiss to her hair, he slipping his arms around her as needed and picked up up, heading from the room. It was a brief stop by to tell Lateef said mission was successful and then it was off to Carris for them. She could reverie off the alcohol and he could sign some papers or something.

She probably would have been in reverie for longer than a few hours if not for the nightmare. Trapped in her old house, slimy finger tips digging under the door while a wet slapping sound echoed outside. She was little and she was scared. Daddy wasn't moving, wasn't speaking. He was cold, too...even a blanket hadn't helped. She knew he'd gone away like Mommy and Baby had but she didn't want him to be cold when he came back. Those fingers continued to dig, slapping against the wood of the door while a voice called out to her in a hauntingly melodious tone. "NO!"

Wishing the young elves felicitations, he returned to the paper work that had once again begun to build up on Kieran's desk. While he was working a serf brought a letter in from Lab. He opened it up and read it with a raised eyebrow. Malik was handing out orders? Penning a note back in reply, he explained to Malik that they hadn't wanted to cause undue stress for Piper by having her see her father in that state. As such, Kieran and Fianna would not be visiting until they decided they wanted to. He was not about to tell Malik that Kieran and Fianna had vanished days ago and hadn't resurfaced.

"I try." Kyst merely rolled his eyes at Gale's pursuit of glory and fame and plucked a piece of floating seaweed off the surface of the water. Brooding for a moment, he was yanked back to reality by the question. "I'm going to have to say no..."

He jumped as she had startled him and he got up from his study, walking over to the adjoined bedchamber where he had placed her in his bed to come back off the alcohol. Sitting next to her, he ran his fingers though her hair before resting a hand on her shoulder, jostling her lightly. "Lharika, it's alright. I'm right here with you."

Speaking of those two, they had decided that it was time to go back to the world of everyone else. A long time of discussion over everything; thrones, marriage, and the air of change that had been seeping into the very land itself that perhaps made these things not so hard to deal with anymore. Fianna was quite pleased...and thought herself a fool at the same time. She hadn't know what she had been missing by not marrying him, and now that she did she wished she'd married him centuries ago. "I'm sorry for making you wait for me." Snuggling back into his chest as they were riding Nerian casually back up the Lucana trails in the mountains. A giggle, "I never even made a surcoat."

"I'd wait forever for you." Chuckling lightly, "You almost made me do so. And you can still make one, I didn't give you enough time to do so before hand." But with the way things seemed to be these days...it was okay for other things to happen. Lharika and Glynnic seemed to perpetuate that...the whole plane knew they were involved, knew they were in love, and knew marriage was on the winds of discussion...and yet those who would need to speak the loudest against such things, that being their generation and the one above it and below it, seemed pleasantly pleased with the match. Despite all it could mean. "We'll figure out all the details later. Right now, I'm sure Lateef wants to wring my neck." And he wanted to see his mother of course.

It took her a moment to pull herself from the awful hands that had just gotten to slip around her neck and her eyes opened, turning to glance at Glynnic. "Nyc..." Another blink and she took a deep breath. She wasn't going to cry but she might scream... "It was just a bad reverie." Thank the gods for that. Reaching out and grasping the ends of his tunic. "Stay in here with me? My mind feels all fuzzy..."

He met them by the gate and very nearly did wring Kieran's neck. "Next time you two decide to take yourselves off somewhere, please be sure and let me know how long you plan to be gone." He didn't care where they went or that they had gone but not knowing when they were coming back was proving to be too stressful on him. Then he blinked. "Okay...what happened?"

Galesen looked at Kyst and gave a small nod. "Alright, I'm sorry for asking but for the past while my magic has been growning." He paused and raised a hand then dipped one finger tip into the water. In a second ice began to spread outward and upward in all different directions. "Today my joints felt a little stiff and my skin felt cold, they haven't felt like this in years. So yeah, I'm alright for now, just wondering if there was any other cases like mine and such."

Slipping an arm around her shoulders, he pulled her up before shifting positions with her and leaning back against the headboard, letting her lean back against him. "Of course I'll stay." Though her head being fuzzy was probably his fault, not that he was going to tell her that. Not yet at least. "Care to share or would you rather not?"

"It was your idea." Shrugging innocently enough to the notion as technically it was true. "And we weren't sure how long we were going to be gone, but we at least decided to be timely about it." Dropping down off of Nerian and helping Fianna down before the three of them headed inside.

"We eloped." And indeed flashing him the band that was on her finger that had previously been around her neck for the longest time. "Don't be upset, it was really a spur of the moment thing, all my fault."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 15, 2009 10:58 pm

"I don't know what it means or who it is so it might not do any good to share." She rested her head against his shoulder and took a deep breath. "When I was little my mom and baby brother died right about the same time. Mama died in childbirth I suppose, though I never really made that connection until now. My father died shortly after that. He couldn't take being away from my mother."

"You did what?!" He couldn't help the surprise but that quickly turned into a grin. "Well, good for the two of you then." How in the world could he be upset? Those two had finally done what they should have done years ago. "Glynnic kidnapped Lark. Your mother is in the garden, Kieran."

"Hey, hey!" Paddling back away from the ice not because it was cold but because it irritated his skin. He didn't like ice and didn't appreciate Galesen turning his water to ice early, either. "I'm not really the guy to ask though. Kieran Silvercrest would probably have a case like that documented."

He listened quietly, nodding. Sometimes he wished that his parents had died...it would make things less complicated. It sounded horrible, but they hadn't wanted him either. Fair play. "Unfortunately that's how it usually is...we elves make connections so deep and I suscpet after decades and centuries and so on, they're just so deep they really are our life lines." Squeezing her lightly in some comfort.

Nodding lightly. "We'll do something big and formal when the time comes, but for now we're happy with this." No one fussed over them, they'd finish out their times and then play big fancy wedding or something. "Did he...good. Long as he doesn't intend to keep her forever just yet." But a nod to Lateef and he pressed a kiss to Fianna's temple before handing her off, quite literally, to Lateef. "Tend to the wife, will you?" Because they both knew him turning on his boot heel meant he was going to go see his mother.

Smiling happily at things, she turned it one Lateef. "He's feeling a bit better. We did some talking. Some of the guilt is still there...after all, just my word on something only means so much. He needs to hear it from a few I guess if he ever thinks about letting it go." Sighing lightly. "Anything that needs to be attened to immediately?"

Galesen raised an eyebrow at Kyst yelling then remembered that Sea elves don't like ice. "Sorry." So he picked up the chunk that was floating near him and while he held it in his hand he heated his skin so that the ice melted. Though when Kyst mentioned Kieran Galesen thought it over and nodded. "I'll ask him when I can, I just rather not bother him right now." A sigh from Galesen before he turned his body so he was dog paddling. "Alright, I need to get going. It was great seeing you again Kyst, you know where my house is so swing by sometime when you get a chance alright?" So after saying goodbye to Kyst Galesen swam over to the beach and grabbed his board when he reached solid land. After grabbing his clothes he called on Barhnel and took off to his house, when he reached it he went inside got changed and went over to the palace. Once inside he went throughout the place until he reached the sunroom where he believed Nillrik and Isle were going to be, and when he saw them together he just stood in the door way, watching them with a small smile.

"It's not that, Glynnic. I mean I suppose in some small part is it that but there's something else going on. There were hands, slimy, cold and frightening hands. They wanted to get to me but I kept slamming things down on them. They wouldn't stop. And the voices..." Shivering. Sometimes she hated reliving things as a child because they saw the world so differently that it was hard to slip back into the mindset. "You lost your mom...did it take a long time to move past it?"

"No, but we both thought that getting her away from here would be best. He'll bring her back when she's eating by herself again and paying a bit more attention to her appearance." He wasn't totally sure how the girl was going to react to finding out her parents had married without her knowledge, though. He grinned at the title and wrapped an arm around Fianna's waist. "I'll bet he uses that every chance he gets." Shaking his head and then leading her inside. "Your son-in-law is raising hell about not being notified about things going on. He wants to see you. Immediately."

Elaria was indeed in the garden and she wasn't sitting like she'd been for so many weeks. No, she was tending to the flowers that were growing on the west side of the palace, watering and weeding, just for something to do. Hearing her son approach, she turned and opened her arms to him. "Ah, Kierry, I've missed you so. Did you and Fianna enjoy yourselves?"

"Maybe it's just what you thought was happening. Little minds tend to run wild after all." Running his hands up and down her arms lightly as she rested against him, the movement pausing for a brief moment before continuing. "I didn't really lose my mother...that's a lie that's told to everyone to make it seem more happy. You know, everyone won when it came to me." Shaking his head lightly. "My mother simply didn't want me. She was young, she wasn't bonded, she didn't intend to be with the man who got her pregant, and she didn't intend to raise me either. Only reason I'm alive I've sure is because of Calyeer and Shylihn."

A nod with a giggle as she let Lateef walk her inside. "That he does. And he just says it with the cutest little inflection." Raising an eyebrow to news on Malik though. "Oh he is? Then again I'm not surprised. Malik doesn't like being left out of the loop, especially on family matters. I suppose a short visit couldn't hurt. Kieran won't want to stay away too long."

It did him a world of good to see his mother actually doing something. And not something idle, something that actually took care to what one was doing. Anything was better than her sitting around and staring, but this was better than repetative tasks. Moving to her with a smile, he hugged her. "We did. It was full of surprises...she finally married me."
--
"See, it's not too hard. Now you just gently have it push against the latch then the window in turn. I stress the word gentle, dear. You don't want to be breaking windows and what not. Then you'd have to work to replace him."

He was concentrating hard on that baton in hand, which looked like he was doing nothing but in reality he was directing the wind, using his natural musical rhythm to help. Wind was hard to control at all, so he was trying to get it to at least cooperate. "It's not moving...I don't want to try to hard..." Because breaking things would not be fun.

Galesen was still smiling as it seemed that Isle was trying to teach her own son how to use his magic, it was fun to watch really. So Galesen made a small noise to let the two of them know he was there before asking, "Am I interrupting?" He then pulled away from the door frame and began to walk toward them. "Nillrik don't worry, it takes awhile to know how to control the wind. Just take your time, it will come naturally." And since he was a Rainsong Galesen knew well that Nillrik would get the hang of controlling the wind soon enough. A look to Isle though and he smiled. "So, how does it feel to be the teacher hm?"

That was definitely not the story that she'd been told at one time or another. It struck here that knowing exactly what happened to him when he was younger was an important thing to know before marrying an elf. "Seems like it was your mother who really lost out. Calyeer and Shylihn gained a wonderful son and now you're a king. Have you ever met her outside of reverie?"

Oh boy, they were going to be cute newlyweds, weren't they? He could deal with it for a little while. It was more exciting that those two had actually gone ahead with their plans instead of making each other wait yet again. "That would be your decision, as always. I just don't like the thought of putting undue stress on her with all that worry."

Pressing a kiss to his temple, just like she had when he was a little boy, she moved her arms to his biceps and then down to his hands, holding them in her own. "My, my. It certainly took you both long enough, didn't it?" Shaking her head and pushing a strand of white hair out of Kieran's face. "I wish you had invited us to the ceremony though."

"We've crossed paths a few times in the city, but we've never done anymore than give each other a passing glance if that. She only knows who I am because I am king and I only know it's her because I can feel it. It's not much of a feeling, but it's still there." Shrugging lightly as he didn't like to let such things get to him too much. There was no point in dwelling in the past. "I try not to dwell on it."

"Piper? Well...she was never close to Ahkallyn really so I don't think it's goign to hit her as hard. Kieran being sullen or Malik making too big of a fuss over it all." Giggling lightly, her mood very much improved as well. "You worry about us all, don't you dear?" Patting him on the shoulder lightly. "Would you mind if I stole Caprice for a bit if you steal Kieran. I have a surcoat to make and it's always more fun with company."

"That's how everyone is feeling so far...it was spur of the moment. No worries, we'll have something big later." Standing there with his mother, actually smiling. "Are you feeling any better? You look better if anything." He did still worry about her after all...if she was going to leave him too, he would at least perfer her not to be miserable before doing so.

"Stop talking Galesen!" Giving a frustrated noise as the talking was breaking his oh so precarious concentration at the moment and he was frustrated more that this wasn't working out for him. Maybe he was trying too hard? The wind didn't like to be caged or mastered at all. "Mama, I can't."

"Yes Galesen, you are." Turning a look over her shoulder before patting her son's back lightly as he fussed. She cound understand how frustrating it was. "I've always been a teacher in some respect, it's nothing new or noteworthy." Giving another pat to Nillrik. "Yes you can dear, you have to play the wind, not give it directions."
