 Potential RoseThis is a quote-unquote ❝daily❞ drabble thread — a girl can be delusional. I have no illusions about actually updating it daily but perhaps getting the I-haven't-written-anything-today procrastination uninspiration will help with finishing other things. At this point, I don't foresee posting these to my writing journal (on livejournal) however I may post ones I really like. We will see. Also, word count? "How do you do it?" she sighs--pulling harshly at the pins in her hair. She winces when she ends up yanking on her brown locks instead of the pin.
"Stop." A hand closes around hers. "Let me do that."
Susan lets go and she allows her hand to drift to her lap. She curls her fingers together to keep from fidgeting and stares into the mirror to look at her sister. She's beautiful--Aslan could have called her Queen Susan the Beautiful and no one would have been able to disagree, she thinks.
"There." Susan leans forward and places the pins on the surface. She looks up, meeting her sister's eyes in the mirror, then. "Now, how do I do what, exactly?"
Lucy tilts her head, resting her temple against her sister's cheek. She examines their likeness--they're so very different.
"How do you enjoy the stuffy celebrations? Don't you get bored?"
"Oh, it's not so bad," Susan admits. She pulls her fingers through her sister's hair, admiring the straight strands.
"But it is!" Lucy retorts with a wrinkle of her nose. "I'd much prefer to dance with the fawns or make small talk with a giant!"
Susan laughs, "A giant, really?"
"Anything is better than stiff aristocrats," she sighs.
"Well that is why Aslan named you the Valiant Queen. When the giants come for small talk, we'll send you in," Susan teases. She wraps an arm around her sister's shoulders and stands up, pulling the younger girl with her. "Until then, why don't you get ready for bed? And maybe next time I'll let you skip the banquet."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
