Garret looked to his left and saw a butcher shop. He went around the butcher shop and entered through the back entrance. He saw the butcher by himself, no customers, no co-workers, no witnesses. He pulled out his blackjack and snuck up on the butcher, he struck him on the head knocking him out. Garret then grabbed a bag a placed various meats inside the bag. He then made his way out quietly.

Katsuko wandered through the streets. she didn't know where she was going but she didn't care. she enjoyed the warmth of the sun and the fresh air. everything was so interesting. it was very different. a lot louder, and dirtier, and dangerous. she saw something posted on a wall of a shop. she walked to it and read the message. -King murdered and Princess missing!- it had a listed price for the return of the princess and a painting of her face. Katsuko stepped away from it and walked on troubled. *would he send me back just to get more money? could i run away?* she debated whether or not she should start running now but the crowd was thick and she wouldn't get anywhere.

*Where the hell did she run off to?* he thought as he looked at a poster on the walls of almost every building. "King murdered, and princess missing eh? Oh what's this? Reward for returning princess?" Garrets mouth dropped open in awe.

Katsuko made her way to the side of the crowd. she climbed onto a flat roof and looked around. she saw Garrett gawking at a poster. *no!* she jumped off the roof and started running to the forest.

Katsuko found herself back at Garrett's den she skidded to a stop. *i cna't keep on, he'll be able to track me down.* she looked around but all she saw were trees. then a wry smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. she climbed into the trees and jumped and swung from the branches into neighboring trees and continued her escape that way.

Garret made his way back to his den and saw that someone must have been in a hurry through here. So he opened his den and saw that Katsuko was not inside. He set the meat he stole down on the table. Then he grabbed his equipment and followed a path of broken trap triggers that Katsuko must have set off while escaping.

Katsuko went on for about a mile through the trees when she stopped. she sat down on a branch and rested.

Garret calmly walked through the path that Katsuko had created. He saw Katsuko on a branch in the distance. He quietly took an arrow tipped with a crystal filled with knock-out gas and he drew it. "Nighty-Night." he whispered as he let the arrow fly in Katsuko's direction.

Katsuko dozed off but woke with a start and fell off the branch. an arrow whizzed past her face. she eyes widened and she made a perfect landing. she saw Garrett in the distance. "I don't want to go back." she said quietly- to quiet for any human to hear at that distance. she started running away. *I don't want to be just a bag of gold!*

"Dammit!" he said as he drew another gas arrow. He ran at Katsuko with his bow drawn. He took aim and let go.

*I knew it. No, no NO!* Katsuko made a zigzag path to dodge Garrett's arrows. one of them struck a tree and the gas spilled into the air. Katsuko held her breath and closed her eyes and ran through the smoke. *I can't get caught. theres nothing for me back there.* Katsuko began to feel stitches in her side. *I can't keep this up much longer.* she thought despairingly.

Garret drew another gas arrow. *Third times the charm* he thought as he took aim and let go.

Katsuko almost ran into a tree. she stopped short and spun around. the arrow hit her in the chest and she fell to the ground. she tried to crawl away but the gas was working its magic and she was soon asleep with yet another wound.

Garret put his bow away and examined the damage the gas arrow did to Katsuko. "It's just a bruise." he said. He then picked up the unconscious Katsuko and hung her over his shoulder. He then started walking to his den.
