My mom uses something called a "Tun Tiu" or something like that. Me no good at Cantonese Romanization. crying That's pretty good transalation. 3nodding My dad used when I was little, but now he and my mom only hits me with there hands, "necessary" times.

I think I stereotype now, but I think most Asians get spanked by their parents.
People, you have to stand up against this.
If you don't defend yourselves, you will be beaten up untill you grow up stronger.

You're making some sense, but I don't altogether agree with you, lol. Well, I agree that something must be done if parents start to abuse us, but I don't agree that we must reject their rules. Usually, their rules are there to help you and protect you. Though they may get out of hand or be over the top a bit, the mild ones are there to help you. If you do indeed disagree with it, talk it over with your parents, anything but going behind their backs on purpose. Maybe break their rules once in a while, but still, I don't believe that we have to stand up to everything they say. They are older than us, I admit, and probably wiser than us. If we ever feel the need to say our bit though, we should say it. 3nodding

I think parents have a right to hit their child, but only if they did something really bad. I'm not saying it's okay to beat your child to a pulp, but you need to instill some amount of fear into them for a little while, otherwise there's not garuntee they'll listen to you. Thus hitting your child only if it's necessary is fine. But parents shouldn't go overboard.

Slowly, it broke and turned into a twig. XD But then they used a stick. Some stick from a flag we get free for July 4th. But then they used it too much for my brother's Naughty Streak. That's who it's snapped in half. Yeah, My brother is like...titanium. XD Now they don't do it much.

We threw it away because it didn't look so menacingly dangerous threatingly scary anymore. It was a twig that could be broken in half. my mom used a variety of things. your twig thing was among them. What is tun tiu? How does it look like. hit your parents after all they've done for you? sad it's not like they hit you for abusive reasons.. i have never seen any of my friends' parents hit them where it could really hurt them. usually just legs and bums. i don't think corporal punishment is wrong. i believe they are hurting inside when they give their children those punishment. but they did what was necessary. hitting your parents is wrong no matter how you look at it. they hit you to correct you. they hit you out of love, so to say. but if you hit your parents, you are doing it out of hatred. No parent deserve a child's hate. Except of course, for the extreme cases. um... but my parents never hit me. i cried and apologised as soon as they started scolding me sweatdrop
