Serenity bit her lip lightly to hide her grin, and once Gaunt was close enough that he wouldn't be able to escape from her, she lifted her head quickly and kissed his cheek - the best she could do in a hurry. Then she laid her head back on her arm and grinned up at him.
"How's that for a little something in return?" she teased him.

He blinks, then he chuckles softly as he winds up settling down next to her. "Mmn. It's a start, but I was hoping for something more like this." He purrs softly as he leans a bit over her, his lips hovering a mere inch above hers. He seemed like he was actually going to kiss her, but he ended up retreating back to his position next to her with a teasing grin.

Serenity's face turned a bright shade of red as Gaunt hovered over her, and her breath caught in her throat at the realization that she was about to receive her first real kiss ... but then he lay back down beside her, and she was so surprised that she didn't react for a moment.
"You!" she laughed once she had recovered her wits. "You're such a tease!" She laughed again and rolled onto her side, facing Gaunt. "And now what shall I do with you?" she asked, her eyes bright once again. She draped one arm over his chest innocently, then leaned over him a bit ... and without warning she began to tickle his sides in the same way she knew would make her fold up like an accordion if someone did it to her.

He smirked at the reaction he drew out of her. She was so easy to play with. She was so innocent and she reacted to many things, and she was so cute while she reacted. "Hey, you know you love it." He laughs softly and warmly at her, then he blinked when suddenly she was taking the initiative. But instead of teasing him with a near-kiss, she started to tickle. But he didn't fold up, he flailed. His arms and legs jerked, his body started to roll side to side, and he started laughing hard. He must really be ticklish.

Serenity laughed and dodged his flailing arms, rolling to one side for safety - though she also made the sacrifice of not being able to tickle him any more in the process.
"Dangerous," she tsked at him, shaking her head slowly, though her eyes were shining brightly and she was smiling mischievously. "What shall I ever do with you?"

He smirks as he takes a few seconds to regain his breath and he smirked at her, his head tilting a bit. "I wonder who is going to tame who first." He laughs softly as he rolled toward her, resting on his side and facing her. He reaches up and gently runs his fingertips along her cheek and jaw, a thumb gracing across her bottom lip.

Serenity laughed at his comment, and as he drew nearer to her she tensed slightly, fully expecting him to tickle her, just as she had him. But when he reached out and brushed his fingers along her face, she blushed hotly. Her lip tingled slightly as he ran his finger along it, and suddenly she wanted nothing more than to simply kiss him.
But she was certain that was what he was after, and she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction - not that easily. She bit her lower lip gently to stop the tingling, then reached up and took his hand in her own, twining her fingers with his.
"Is that a challenge?" she asked him breathlessly, her eyes daring him to try to kiss her.

Gaunt smiles as he watches her reaction, seeing her cheeks turning red once again as well as her lower lip catching between her teeth. He knew he was under her skin, it was pretty easy to tell because of her reaction. But it was just a matter of time before one of them broke down. He moved closer to her, his breath moving gently against her as he again closed the distance but refused to seal the deal. "Yeah, maybe it is a challenge."

He was dangerous ... very dangerous, Serenity decided. Much more and she would never be able to even pretend to resist ... but he was so close ... so close ...
"Well then," she murmured, also moving a little closer, until their noses were touching and her lips were almost brushing against his, and she could not only feel but also taste and smell his breath, "I accept."
And she smiled, not moving any closer at all, but waiting for his next move.

He was surprised, really, that she was able to play along like this. He was expecting her to crumble under the promise of things she's never felt before, but instead she was teasing him right back. He smirks lightly, his lips moving so close to hers that she could only taste him on her lips - any closer and he'd be talking against her lips. "Then I look forward to you melting in my arms."

Serenity giggled, and the movement made her brush her lips ever so lightly against Gaunt's.
"I'm not ice cream," she teased him, rubbing her nose against his. "I'm not quite sure melting is exactly the right word."
Though of course she had no experience, but she was determined not to be the one to crumble first.

He laughs softly and he shakes his head, smirking lightly as he returned the nose-nuzzle, keeping his lips dangerously close to hers. "Mmn.. Well, you can either melt, or you can be putty in my arms." He laughs softly and one arm drapes around her waist and the other rested on her stomach, his eyes gazing into hers, still full of mischief.

Serenity's breath caught in her throat as he wrapped one arm around her and put his other hand on her stomach, and her face grew even warmer. Perhaps melting would have been an accurate word after all, she decided belatedly.
Still, she was determined not to give up so quickly.
"And would I still then be your Serenity?" she asked him, her words coming in faint breaths. It was getting so hard to breathe ... she was fighting against every instinct her body had ...

He whispered hotly against her lips, still refusing to close that last millimeter or two to finally deliver her first kiss. His arm tightened around her, and he pulled her closer to him. "You'd be even more my Serenity than you were before." He smiled at her, his eyes refusing to break contact with hers even if it was amusing to feel her will softening under his teases.

There was only one question running through Serenity's mind right now, and that was, Why am I torturing myself like this? Every instinct, every fibre of her being was telling her to give in, to let herself go those few tiny millimetres, from her head to her toes, and she wanted so badly to give in - except that her stubborn pride was stopping her.
But those eyes ...
There were no more words to speak, nothing left to say ... she was fighting herself even as she did so, but she moved her head forward just the tiniest little bit until her lips were ever so lightly touching his ...
