Daniel chuckled softly and shook his head. "Its pretty common with Adriel...even more when he gets a project, he spends days awake, crashes for a couple and restarts again until its done....its kind of strange and unhealthy..but...he doesn't listen to reason when he gets an idea on his head."

Veil looked at him with a tilted head and weary eyes. She totally knew what he meant. “I get that completely Daniel. Some guys are really like the children they somehow raised.” Flipping a long lock over her shoulder, she pulled at a water bottle from the fridge. Getting an approval nod from the young man, she plopped down into the nearest seat and sighed. “Even when Bones’ was little he was dedicated to the point of elf injury.” She giggled at a random memory that popped into her head, not sharing if the boy wouldn’t care.

Daniel tilted his head. "Bones is the guy sleeping in the empty greenhouse?" When she confirm this, he served himself a cup of tea. "Ah, so what are you giggling about? Adriel is like that....he doesn't really understand his limits...even today." He chuckled to himself.

Taking a long drag on the bottle, she wiped her mouth lightly with her fingertips. These men were her familiars now, no need to be as formal. Two days, and already a lot had happened. Smiling at the young boy, the memory recalled was to now be shared.

“Once, for the anniversary of our meeting, Bones…oh he was so little. Seven maybe? He decided to get me a certain kind of flower for a present. It was rare and beautiful. Well, it was two towns over to the place where it grew. Took his bike…” Shaking her head she frowned. That stupid bike. He was always scooting away to places with it, worrying her to pieces. “..rode for hours straight to get it. There and back within the day, all the while I was worried. By the time he got back all her could do was collapse into my arms while he gripped the fragile flower in his hands.”

Ruffling her long hair a bit she snickered. “So in fact he missed the special dinner I usually cooked, because he was sleeping off his journey."

Daniel tilted his head and nodded slowly before taking another sip. "Sounds like something most little kids would do....just at a larger scale." He smiled at her. "What are you two, anyways? You sounds like siblings...."

Veil’s eyes flickered in mischief as she tapped a tattoo out on the water bottle with her fingertips. “Actually, there’s no relation between us…we’re more just like….each other’s gravity.” Running her tongue over her fanged teeth, she thought for a moment before she continued. “When I was sixteen I was introduced to him. He was three then, and such a little sweetheart.” A lot had changed since then. It was during the genetic experiments done to her. Well, after, but there was still more to come from those people. Even still she wasn’t free.. “Well, now he’s twenty three and out lives still interlock no matter where we go.” Taking another swing on the water bottle, she searched Dan’s face waiting for him to do the math.

The teenager took a couple of minutes. "Well...those are some crazy genetics, if you are in your 30s...." he said calmly. He lived with Adriel for Arceus' sake! He wasn't going to freak or run around like this was out of the ordinary for him, he was raised up by someone who half the time acted more like a wild pokemon then a sane adult human.

She chuckled under her breath at the typical teenager, knowing it wouldn’t bother him. However, that piece of info was always amusing to her. If it wasn’t that way…she might not be able to take it, and that would be worse than the odd look she got from it. Leaning back in the chair a bit, her toes curled around the edge of the seat as she rested her head on her knees. Now perfectly perched, she continued.

“I stopped ageing at fourteen. Due to the final evolution Pokemon DNA in my system…. really I was meant to be much taller.” She capped the water bottle, and then uncapped it again. Just an idle toy for her at the moment. Starting her sentence off with a sigh, she finished the thought. “But I’m used to it.” Spying Daniels lanky form, she glanced up and down to look at the whole of the boy. After a long moment of silence between the two, she spoke then.

“Adriel.” She started, but stopped there.

“WHAT is he. I can read you somewhat….no offence Daniel. But, please explain him to me.” Blinking slyly at him, she snickered. Then we’ll talk about you if you’d like.

Daniel looked thoughtfully at his tea as if it was the most interesting thing he had ever seen as he tried to think of a coherent answer. "Adriel is....Adriel." He finally said, unable to tell her about Adriel's true problems. "He has been that way ever since Sensei's lucario found him half frozen in the snow one day in the forest. He was...like..five." He shrugs. "I didn't met him until he was seventeen and I was five after my parents die."

"I understand." Veil stated, tracing her finger around the rim of the bottle idly. Her eyes dark and filled with thoughts the years had tolled on her as well, ghosts and shadows that always seemed to linger. Everyone had them to some degree.

For once her face seemed to show her age. Realizing this in her reflection in the stilled water, she let out a little click of disapproval at this. She sipped the liquid once again to try to refresh her. Children needed such guardians, ones that protected and never hurt them. Daniel had this from what she could tell, and she really hoped that's what Bones' thought as well. There was so much he'd done for her, she lost count when he was six. "I'm not meaning to pry."

Daniel nodded. "I know......" His maroon eyes looked up at her. "I mean, I know, he is strange, he can be...weird." He smiled and chuckles softly. "I mean, Sensei was always talking about how when Adriel was little, he would practice against his lucarios and they would meditate together. Sensei would have to always to keep all three of them concentrate, but the moment they thought he wasn't looking, they started to poke each other and try to break each other's concentration. Hell....when I was there, they would still do that." He sighed. "....He rarely spoke, he still rarely speaks. I think the first word they got out of him was 'mew', they think he heard a meowth meowing its head off and he decided to imitated....after that, he imitated all the pokemons in the property. It took three years to get him to actually speak.."

He chuckled again and shook his head. "He is strange, but he is Adriel, nothing more, nothing less."

Veil found a chuckle passed her lips as she parted them to inhale a calming breath. Fortunately that little tidbit had the same effect on her weary form. Eyes curving into a healthy smiling face, she found herself staring off in the distance. It was almost like Daniel was more the parent than Hart was. The two of them chatting away about their ‘children’ as it were. After swinging the bottle a bit as if weighting the last splashing amount, it tapped at she set it on the table.

“Isn’t amazing how you feel like you’ve known someone forever?” She finally blinked out of her gaze because she felt the pull of herself disappearing to and unwanted place in her mind. Taking a breath she herself began…

”I was sixteen when I met Bones for the first time. He was only three.” This almost sounded like a confession coming from he mouth, rather than a story. The woman tried her best. “He broke his leg when he was five…falling out of a tree. Unable to play with the kids and their Pokemon, he had to stay inside. So, together we used to cook in the kitchen, and make omelets. He would make everything I showed him though, from burgers to stirfry…and it was always better than I’d ever made. Heck, he still cooks better than me.” She snickered. “He won’t admit it either. That he’s a good cook. That’s the part that gets me.”

Daniel chuckled. "When I first met Adriel, it was the day I got to Santiago's manor, after they released me from the hospital. After dinner, Santiago put me to bed and told me he was just down the hall. Not matter, I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up from nightmares, but I refuse to leave my bed. Around midnight, I woke up, and saw the windows open." He laughed to himself. "I saw Adriel there, for the first time, standing on the windowsill. Hair and white shirt illuminated by the moon, he was playing his violin while he paced back and for in the windowsill, balancing there, just a tilt away from falling two stories to the ground. Like a monkey, he dropped the violin on a chair and came down from the window towards the bed and just sit there, looking like some regal angel out of a story book, eyes glowing like a persian's."

Smiling fondly at his tea cup, he sat down. "And I just went up to him and ask him if he was my guardian angel my parents sent. He just gave me one of those goofy smiles of his and kept silent while he petted my hair and help me go back to sleep." Daniel blinked and then laughed. "I swore he was purrring by the time I fell asleep that night."

Veil giggled at his adorable little speech of admiration for the man, seeing Daniel’s eyes lit up with such happiness at sharing this tale. Tugging her hair forwards now she blinked at him with blue-green hued eyes. “Sounds like you’re still really in awe of him Daniel. Like he’s a sort of hero or something.” By the looks of it, her certainly had the physical prowess for such a job, but quite evidently, not the mentality. Noting that the healer had musical talent, she might ask him to play later. Veil was eager to stretch her legs and dance more ballet.

“When I met Bones he didn’t have his name yet…but he was still the same as ever. I’d just gotten out of the….hospital. In a haze when he was little, it was if his mind was protecting him from something…with those transparent eyes of his. He thought I was a little china doll back then…and told me so.” Another smile split her lips, but it was one laced with sadness. “He thought I was a discarded toy that came to life to play with him.”

Daniel smiled softly and then chuckled. "We children have active imaginations when it comes to the guardians of our lives." He finish his tea. "Well...those two are probably going to sleep for a while, what do you want to do?"
