A pup? A traitor? Tobias tried to imagine how a pup could become a traitor. Had he dne some terrible evil? Pups could not be capable of evil! They could only be mislead. He felt a heavy sadness for the poor, mislead pup.

Tobias pondered Kamali's question. "I don't know..." He answered slowly, "I don't want to push myself onto the pack..." He sighed, wishing he could say yes. But didn't that require consent from the alpha?

Hearing Haku howl, ((Alliteration!)) he was filled with a strange emotion. He wanted to be part of this pack, but yet he felt that asking to be part of it may be rude. Why was he so unsure of himself? Perhaps they would let him into the pack. And so he howled too.

Haku heard another two wolves howl. But one did not sound like a pack member. Once they were done, after everyone joined in, he moved to find out just who the other wolf was. Spotting an adolcent near Kamali he would raise his hackles slightly and move in bettwen the two. Sniffing a bit, he would notice that this wolf was some hwo related and lowered his hackles, plopping onto his butt.

"Who're you, and why are you near my family?" He would ask, rather calm, slightly trusting the young wolf.

Suuru was silent and secretive in his watching- he hid in the back of the trees closer to the tunk so the shadows of the pine would hide him well. His eyes were narrowed and he took the highest perch to keep his scent well from the wolfs. He could hear them- but understood little but his owner's name. He'd heard the sound over and over from various sources when they faced him- it had to be his title or nickname of some sort. He looked to the pups- so many of them... no doubt being told of their brother's death- and by their changing expressions lies about how it was okay. The crow sneered a bit- the others watched from trees surrounding his so they'd not know much of his thoughts.

One of the wolves howled- they were gathering... probibly moving again. He'd follow... his master might very well wish to know where this place was in time- for good or ill reasons. He'd not let another pup die needlessly if they could avoid it. The crow had taken to the kind one- the one with the pink nose who had been one of the few to address both himself and his master in a soft tone. He'd look out for him when he could spare it... the trecherous scared female kept looking to the skies and trees. He chuckled, his eyes narrowing and wings moving up around his head. Foolish she-dog.... even if she knows I am here and where I am... she cannot fly nor climb.

He'd follow them through the shadows of the high branches and remain from sight and smell- the others would keep watch for the strange wingless creatures that also walked on two legs... apparently they had come into the wood as well.

Lexi's howl dies away last, having joined in last. Feanaro's pack had never done such a thing, and she's uncertain of her place in the matter, but feels reasured as it sooths some deep part of her instincts and sense of pack. It doesn't sooth the sent of crow, which makes her growl softly, although she can't pick out it's shape. Let the ill minded bag of feathers try for her ears again, she was fast enough to snap a running hare, a crow was no faster on the wing, maybe less so.
"He came up from behind. He seems to know Kamali..."

Having slipped down from Gaara's shoulders, just barely aware that the pack had come to a halt, Gizmo crept over to lie down in a small hollow in the snow, perhaps left by another sleeping animal.

Lying down, pushing his nose into the white snow he shivered, the fur around his neck bristling slightly as he turned to lie his head against the gentle slope of the hollow.

He wanted to be left alone to think, he had no idea who else knew that Sable was his brother, perhaps Sable had told them himself, a sign that he wouldn't be a traitor. Yet if they had known this, then why had they done such a thing?

His ears perked up as the howling commenced, did this mean they would be on the move again? The wolf inside begged to be let free, nudging at him to raise his head and howl with them, but his throat would not allow it. The thickness and clumsiness that had remained since coming around had not left and he wondered whether he would even want to talk or howl again, what use was it to speak when it did nothing to help. Did he even want to be connected to the wolves who had commited such a vile act?

The hackles on his neck bristled further at that thought, how could he think such things about Haku? That large male had shown him kindness, brought him away from the winter's grasp and given him love and a home. Perhaps being Alpha material meant that you had to be strong, yes hat must be it, and Gaara...by right Gizmo should have torn him apart, but he did not want to be stained with the blood of a wolf. Besides, he actually quite liked that older wolf even if he was a little gruff.

The overwhelming feeling of sleep weighted down on his shoulders, the fur along his neck smoothing down as he calmed. Was this the sign he had waited for ever since birth, was it really time to strike out on his own?

It was then that his thoughts turned to Aeria, that pup was so kind and loving, where was she now? With Haku? Carmen? He did not think he could ever bring himself to leave her, and he had promised not to! He would never leave her again, he would not break his promise to her by doing so. He would remain, if only to keep her safe and happy. Yet was he doing that by lying in a hollow, silently? He doubted it but still the dark thoughts would not cease to dwell in his tormented mind. He wanted to sleep but was afraid to, he did not want to return to that red abyss, did not want to stare at those eyes which held only death.

Gizmo was afraid...afraid of the present, the past and the future, for in this pup's weary eyes there was no spring and no summer. There was no sun bright enough to melt the snow or lighten the day, there was no moon to soothe him with her gentle touch.

In this world there was pain and death, and yet it lacked life and caring...the thing Gizmo strived for. Was this strange occurance trying to turn him from the path of calm to the path where he would be nothing more than a raging animal killing and destroying everything in its path...why...what was the purpose of causing such misery?

With stiff movements the pup would drag himself back to his paws, ears flattening against his skull, and tail tucked between his legs. He was ready to move on...he had to be.

He yawned slightly and looked over at Gizmo lazily. It was time to cross the first river. Yes, the journey would not be an easy one, but if you don't risk anything, then you have nothing to live for. Nuzzling Aeria, he would pick her up and move through the last part pf the push, slipping a paw into the ice cold water. he had pretty much forgotten about Tobais, since he didn't seem to cause any harm.

A small growl came from his throat. His foot was freezing! He wondered if it could get any colder. Swallowing, he would keep a good grip on Aeria, and slide another paw in.

((><;; ))

Aeria had been lulled to sleep by Haku's movements as they traveled through the woods to their new home. She was awakened when she felt his mouth around the scruff of her neck as the pack readied to cross the first river.

Her eyes grew wide as Haku stepped into the icy water. Her mind went back to playing tag with Gizmo, and how she had fallen into the pond. Aeria unconciously let out a yelp at the thought of falling back into the water.

He moved with slow steps, head drooping low so that his pink nose almost touched the snow, his tail wrapping firmly about one hind leg. The icy water filled his nostrils and as he neared the edge he trembled, remembering the time he had pulled Sable free from the river. He had been a ball of fur and blood...escaping death only to be murdered days afterwards.

Swallowing, he lowered his head further to lap at the icy water, hoping it would soothe the thickness in his throat. Instead it only made him tremble and he raised his head, wondering if he could swim across by himself. He was still a pup but he was getting stronger everyday, and perhaps he could manage it if he tried hard enough.

Watching Haku move through the water his eyes fell upon the bundle of brown fur he held with him...Aeria. He sighed, breath wreathing about as his muzzle, eyes unfocused as his mind became consumed with dark thoughts once more.

"Let me help..." Lexi offers to Gizmo, wandering up behind him. "I'll keep your head above water." She doesn't know yet that there's anything wrong with the pup, beyond the earlier conversation with Gaara, which disturbed her slightly, although she's glad he didn't make the mistake of going for Gaara. There's little room for a grudge inside pack structure in her mind. There are enough treats from maurauding lone wolves and diseased animals, let alone the risk of injury from hunting. The water looks icy, but there's not really much choice unless there's a fallen log, or somthing near falling.

Gizmo turned his head to look up at the young female. his eyes falling onto the scars that trail her face. He said nothing, simply wagging his tail to show that he did not mind her presence or her help. She was bigger and stronger than him and it only made sense for her to offer, Lexi seemed dedicated to Haku and would obviously want to do her best to help.

She was not a bad wolf, just as Gaara was not a bad wolf. It crossed Gizmo's mind that perhaps none of their kin could be considered 'evil' but simply acting on their beliefs.

He turned his gaze briefly to the water, waiting to be carried over it. If he had been scared there was no sign of it, perhaps fear had been lost beneath the depths of his grief.

Kamali looked around slowly, wondering who would carry him. He hadn't gotten a chance to tell Haku it was his brother, and to not worry. He had not joined in on the wolf song, he could not force himself.

He glanced up at Tobias, perhaps his brother would carry him. He just wanted to be settled in their new home. He decided to block out the previous events. When they got to their new home it would be over with.

But how will I make friends? Haku said there weren't other wolves there.. He whined softly to himself. He was said that Noke had left them.. sad he would never get to know her.

I will never know Sable any better either.. No. Don't think about it.

At Lexi's words Lera slowly turned her head to look at the murder of crows that hid themselves in the shade of the trees. Her golden eyes pieced their soot feathers, and her mind began to reel. She quickly jumped from one crow to the next efficiently searching thoughts, looking for those that would not match a regular crows. For example a normal crow would have lazy thoughts about meat and aging carcasses. One by one the other crows would shiver and let out a screeching caw before quickly flying away. Lera's mind was storng, and no simple animal could make a barrier strong enough to hold their mind decent. She was master in these woods.

Her head would move in quick jolts, from one crow to the next easily pin pointing and intruding their mind. If they were the incorrect bird she was looking for she would fill their mind with fear, making them fly away.

Yet she soon came upon the crow Suuru. His mind was filled with thoughts of a paticular masked wolf: Feanaro. Memories and treacherous plotting. She stared at him for a few moments, glaring, the fur on her neck raising and her body leaning forward.

His mind would be full of snarling wolfs, blood, hatred, death, like nails on a chalkboard it would make his spine shiver. She showed him images and emotions of pain. Leave! she roared into his mind, so powerfully it would have made his head swim, you or the masked wolf shall not disturb this pack!. Her words were strong and screetched int he crows mind blocking all senses from the outside world. Yet as she stood by Lexi she only seemed to be angered. Her eyes dialating and her hackles rising, a faint snall on her lips. She could have easily sent this crow flying in a flurry of feathers, plummiting to the ground if it was not for the small yelp of Aeria. She broke her own conncentration, glaring to the single crow that remained before turning to Haku. Her emotions immediatly changed as she grinned. The air was happy; all emotions had been soothed, yet one presence remained sorrowful. She looked to Gizmo and frowned. Lera watched as Lexi picked him up: ah, she would have to wait to speak with him.

She, herself, held her body high, her ears forward and her tail errect. Her tongue lazily rolled out of her mouth and her lips were held in a wolfish grin. She knew Tobias, and was happy to have him with them. She looked down to Kamali as her wearily looked at the water. Lera moved towards him and picked him up carefully by the nape. She needed the practice before she had her own pups, anyway.

She went beside Haku and quickly went into the water: better to get it over with sooner than later >.< The water reached a little bit above her stomach, even if it felt as if nails were running throughout her entire body. The water was freezing! She shook in place as she moved very carefulled through the water. Her head was held far back, to not let Kamali touch any part of the water. Lera felt as if her body was being frozen in place and she began to worry. Her own growing children inside her body, they would chill if they were to stay in the water any longer.

She swiftly moved to the other side of the river flawlessly.

((just trying to move things a bit faster X3; Sorry, did a bit of god moding n_n; hope you guys don't mind! ))

Tobias was about to answer the alpha before he walked away. Pausing, he turned to Kamali instead. "So, I guess I'll be traveling with you, then." He smiled, and his tail wagged. Getting up, as the other wolves seemed to be moving now, he trotted to the bank of the river, and leaned his head forward, lapping up the water thirstily. It was very cold but he ignored the temperature. He walked over to Kamali, thinking perhaps he could carry him over the water, but Lera picked him up first. Feeling a tad useless, he stepped into the water and cringed at the cold. It was like ice, lapping up against his body. He swam, a tad awkwardly, across the river and arrived on the other side panting.

It's not *just* the cold water that makes Lexi shiver as she moves to carry Gizmo across the river, but the sound of crows wings.
Don't look back She insists to herself. Don't give him the satisfaction of knowing it bothers you. Don't ever show him he makes you afraid...
