Hattie looked very small wrapped in Eric's clothes and her eyes were closed. "Hunter is lookin' into the facility where he was held. They're still pumpin' out freaks, but he's gotta dig a little further to hear more about the kid." She sighed heavily.
"But there's more. Hunter says the Assassin's Guild has been chattin' up the Waves and some survivors from the Gilgamesh have been targeted. Not to mention the helpers. We've been fingered, Babe. Anyone involved in that mess as got a hefty fine on their heads and we're next." She chuckled a bit. "It's flatterin' really."

Pen was looking a little worse for wear, her eyes a little bit darkened, and her skin more pale than usual. She'd since pulled a jacket over the slave outfit, to keep herself clothed and warm, but couldn't quite drag up the energy to change completely. She sat down in a chair, letting her eyes close for a moment.

On the empty world, high on a mountain, a generator thrummed and a communications tower remained workable in its age.

Tsukiyomi Morningstar Hattie looked over at Pen. "Hey, Pen, are you alright? You ain't lookin' too hot." ((lol, Pen says thanks, Mackie.)) Pen glanced at Hattie, her eyes looking a little glassy. She shook her head. "If you have somewhere I could lay down and rest for a moment, that would be appreciated."

"Are you sure that you don't want to go down to Med bay?" Hattie stood up and offered a hand to Pendari. "I'll take you to a Bunk, but you should probably go get yerself checked out."

Eric nodded to Pen. "You can take Jarred's room. He ain't here, and I don't think he'd overly mind you sleeping in his bed." Eric replied, tapping the arm of his console, mulling over Hattie's words. "Assassins aren't nothing new. The Kore themselves aren't using the stone against us yet, so I'm not as worried as I could be."

Inside the tower, Xeen eyed the communication equipment. "laurel, this means less and little to me. Do you know how to use it?"

Before Hattie could take Pen from the bridge, Cale was on deck looking none too pleased. As per usual, he moved in front of Hattie, looking his sister in the eyes.
"You couldn't get my kid?" He snapped. Hattie sighed. "Don't start, Cale, I have Hunter on it. I can only do so much." She bit back, crossing her arms. "You need to relax, bro. Your little freak outs won't fix anything."
Cale's green eyes darkened. "Don't get cute, Hattie. You don't know what it's like." Cale was on the floor in the next minute nursing a bloody nose as Hattie wiped his blood from her knuckles. "******** you." Her eyes stung a bit with tears as she left the bridge, not looking at anyone as she went.

Pen shook her head to Hattie. "A bunk is fine, it's just fever, nothing more." She gave a half smile, and then turn to Eric with a grateful look. "His room will be nice, thank you." She stood up and moved towards the room, rubbing her arms to fight a chill that wasn't present.

Eric rose quickly, temper flaring. "Goddamnit, Cale, we just bailed your a** out of being turned into steaks and replacement parts and your wife out of being someone's sex slave, and all you can do is throw me some of your goddamn attitude!" He pinched his nose, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, your kid's missing. And guess what? As soon as Hunter tells me where he went, guess where we're going? I don't owe you a goddamn thing, Cale. Not one single thing, but here I am, putting my life, my wife's life, my ship, and my friend's girlfriend's necks on the line so you can have your happy family. I'd suggest watching your goddamn mouth unless you want me to break your jaw."

Cale pressed a rag to his nose to stop the bleeding and glared at Eric. Then, after a moment, his face soften. "I'm..." He took a deep breath. "Sorry. I forgot about Hattie's miscarriage last year..." He shook his head. "I've finally gotten happiness, Chase, and I'm just stressed trying to keep it. I'm sure you can understand that."
Hattie returned to the bridge after an hour or so of fuming in Eric's bunk. "I got a wave from Hunter, but it was interrupted by this transmission." She held her Comm out to Eric to show a blond girl smiling back at him. The voice transmission was muted at the moment. "She says she's a "Master Thief" and might be able to help with Cirus. Thing is," Hattie paused a moment. "I ain't got a clue who she is."

Eric shot him one last hard look. "I do understand, but you don't see me biting those who help me trying to keep it. Quick way to get yourself shoved out an airlock, that."
When Hattie returned, Eric raised an eyebrow. "Then we find out who she is. Find out if we can trust her, which I highly doubt."

Das Steube Inside the tower, Xeen eyed the communication equipment. "laurel, this means less and little to me. Do you know how to use it?" "I can try, Uncle." She pushed various buttons and switches with no result. Then she noticed a cable that had been ripped from a part of the wall that was no longer there. "Uncle, I think this is the power cable. Without power, the console is useless to us."
