A low rumbled emanated from Chaos's chest as he was hit. It was a menacing sound, but he still could not move. Chaos watched with wary eyes, knowing both that he could do nothing, yet he would still win the fight.
Renekai watched carefully from where she was. It looked like the ice was there to stay for a long while... But Chaos could handle it! Hopefully...

 Kayla glared at the frozen absol not because she was angry at him but too focused on her own thoughts on how to win this battle.
Adira was already pumped up, or as much as she could, to pound the dog into the ground.
Kayla took her time with making her decision. This effect on Chaos won't last long enough to win this battle, not by a long shot. They truely need luck on their side and as of right now it being merciful but for how long?
"Adira, AncientPower!"
Adira raised her head in shock. Oh how she wanted to trash that dog but what was her trainer thinking!?
Kayla shook her head. "You know the outcome of this battle if this ends badly."
Eyes narrowed, Adira had no choice but to agree to her logic if she really thought about it. So she went ahead and powered up her attack.

Chaos watched Adira's every movements, trying to read her attacks. He knew that what was coming would be painful, but he was determined to survive through it. If this were the battle against Isamu...
Renekai was worried. This wasn't going to look pretty... The sooner Chaos was free, the better.
Chaos began to get some feeling back in his paws. He wiggled slightly. The ice was thawing, but still he stood there, not quite free.

Kayla started to notice that Chaos was starting to get free from the frozen state he was in and started to panick a bit. If the absol escape from it, it could mean their end. Adira wouldn't last very long any longer.
Adira was showing signs of exhaustion but she was still willing to fight to the end. Never will she give up a battle just because the odds are against her. The Rampardos already knew what Kayla, her trainer, want to do next and went for it.
Using her fore claws, Adira powered up another Focus Blast at the frozen Chaos. 125/1000

Chaos winced, then broke clear. He jumped to a new platform and shook off his wet coat; the ice had melted. He readied himself to fight, but couldn't launch an attack just yet; his limbs still felt numb and clumsy.
Renekai clutched the rails that separated her box from the stadium. She hoped that Chaos wasn't about to be re-frozen!

Gritting her teeth, Kayla watched as Chaos became free of the spell of Adira's Ice Beam at last. Kayla had learned from her mistake the last time and won't make it again. If this ends badly for them, then it was worth the shot.
"Adira! Ice Beam again!"
Adira roared before powering up another Ice beam in front of her mouth before sending it off at the newly unfrozen absol.
Kayla closed her eyes and made a small prayer. Please let it work, please!

Chaos reared up to dodge the attack, but just got his fron paws frozen together. He fell heavily back to the floating platform and proceeded to make great, sloppy gouges in the ice using his hind foot. It was slow work, but he would not be held back for long!
Renekai closed her eyes for a moment. This was getting frustrating... After going so far, would they lose because they couldn't even move?

"Yes!" Kayla muttered to herself as the attack hit home and refrozen the absol again. As annoying as it must be for the other trainer, they didn't want to lose this battle when they were so close to winning.
But then again, they still have a long way to go. The freeze will not last forever. "Once again, Adira! Focus Blast!"
Adira charged up another white energy ball and shot it at Chaos again. Finding great pleasure in getting some revenge. Quote: 125/1000 +50 ATK Sorry? ^__^;;; -gives you cookie-

Chaos howled his frustration. He ignored Adira's attack as best he could and concentrated harder than ever on breaking free.
Renekai was twisting her hands together. Surely, their opponents couldn't keep this up! They were going to be beaten, for sure... Unless...

Adira no longer had to recharge the ice beam for she already knew what Kayla was doing. Before they knew it, another beam of ice attempted to freeze Chaos again.

Crap, Renekai thought dejectedly. She couldn't see any way around this one; Chaos was getting tired. So much for their luck... Oh well...
Crap, Chaos thought angrily. What if Isamu used the same tactic during their battle? How would he ever defeat the old absol that way? He fought as hard as he could against the ice, his frustration fueling him, but he already knew that it was a lost cause. Despite his background of freezing temperatures, he couldn't fend off this ice.

Kayla almost fainted in relief when that Ice Beam worked for the third time or was it the fourth of this battle? In any case, they pretty much got this battle in the bag. Kayla's legs were trembling in relief. This must have been the reward they have earned from early on at the beginning.
Adira was basically laughing at Chaos's predicament. Sure, the absol had a few swings at her but in the end, she came out on top. Not even waiting for Kayla's command, she went off using another Focus Blast on the helpless absol.

With a tremendous effort, Chaos fell over. The platform swayed dangerously for a moment, then settled once more. He was safe!
Renekai blinked. Had it really missed? She blinked again. It had! She did her best not to keep her hopes up, though. One critical hit and they'd be back in the same position as before. But still, it had missed!
"Nice aim, blockhead," Chaos managed to growl past his numb lips. The taunt was intended to get her angry enough to miss again, though it also made his ego rise a little bit. Here he was, frozen and on his side. And he had still avoided the attack!

Kayla's eyes widen in total shock and jaws dropped. How...How could they have missed when the absol was frozen stiff? Was fate against them again? Did their luck decided to leave them at the last second?
While Kayla's thoughts run amuck, Adira growled at the insult the dog had thrown at her. With her teeth bared to the fullest, Adira charged closer to the absol to aviod another miss. I won't miss this time, rat-bait.
With that, Adira launched another Focus Blast at the immovable Chaos, hoping he felt every bit of it.

Chaos bared his teeth into a gruesome smile. The ice shielded him from most of the attack, luckily for him. The attack also weakened the ice, allowing the absol to struggle and attempt to regain his feet.
Renekai was holding the rail again, watching intently. They were getting there... Just a little more luck, was that too much to ask? They were so close!
