Dante walked towards house at near sundown. He knocked on the door. "Who is it?" a man asked from behind the door. "Noir." Dante replied. The man opened the door and asked "Do you need me to remind you?" "Yes" Dante replied. "Her name is Amaranta, she works at the Glade. I'll give you 20 up front and 50 on completion." the man said as he handed Dante a small bag. "I'll get right on it." Dante said as he turned around and made his way back to the Glade.

Amaranta walked over to the bar and drank some hard apple cider. a song started up again and she danced away from the bar. her mind left the past and she focused on her dancing.

Dante entered the doors of the Glade and walked to the counter. "I'm looking for Amaranta." he said to the bartender.

the bartender smiled. "Ah, Amaranta is a great girl." the bartender looked out at the tavern. "Ah, there she is over there. No one dances as well as she." he said proudly.

*She won't be dancing anymore when I'm done.* he thought as he sat down in a chair and waited for the song to end.

Amaranta saw Dante. she smiled. *so he came back.* she thought. she danced as gracefully as a fairy.

When the song ended Dante walked over to Amaranta and grabbed her from behind. He turned her around and looked at her with blank emotionless eyes. "Meet me out back." he said as he let go of her and went outside.

Amaranta gasped but he was already gone. she relaxed and regained her composure before walking outside. "What do you want?" she asked a little irritated.

Dante unsheathed the sword on his back. "Don't scream, this will be painless, I promise..." he said as a single tear dropped from his eye.

Amaranta took a step back. "What? you're- you're an assassin? why- who hired you?" she asked.

Dante remained silent and he slowly stepped towards Amaranta. As he approached her more and more tears fell from his eyes. "Please, don't run.....it will be easier on the both of us if you remain still and quiet." he said with no emotion in his eyes regardless of the tears.

"Tell me!" Amaranta took another step back. *Why is he crying?* she wondered. "Who sent you?"

Dante clamped Amaranta's mouth shut and touched the cold steel of his blade to her neck. His hand was shaking and more tears fell from his eyes. But regardless he still had no emotion in his eyes.

Amaranta grabbed his hand that held the knife and she bit his fingers that covered her mouth. "you're going to kill me anyways i want to know who wants me dead, is that so much to ask?" she hissed at him.

Dante showed no signs of pain when she bit down. "Your brother." he replied softly as he gained control of his knife and clamped her mouth shut. He then touched the blade to her neck again, his hand still shaking and tears still pouring.
