A soft chuckle is heard from behind Llmryn as he sits in his desk chair. From the shadows of the desk and chair, arose the Patron Druu'giir. A thin smile paints his lips as he regards the drow before him.
"It seems that in my absence all manner of things have occurred. Yet I return and find you here as ever, plotting like the little spider you are.
Tell me Llmryn, what are the bodies for? Do not bother to deny it, I've seen the boxes myself first hand with my magic. I must admit, I am curious."

He sighs a bit and motions to the seat on the other side of the desk. "You are so dramatic...why don't you just have a seat, or have you evolved so far from the powers of your god that you no longer need to sit?" He cracked his knuckles and smiled in deep satisfaction. "Well then, if you are aware of my actions then you must know I have been waiting for you, I also take it that you apprehended the test formulate from that band of thieves in the market place. I have lined the streets with my presence to lure you here. Those bodies are just what you assume they are, priest and priestesses. They are barely alive, waiting for my next experiment."
His eyes had a grim look to the as he leaned back in his seat. "The question is...are to going to get in my way? Or, are you going to support my actions? I very much doubt you would good through the effort of coming here if you just plain didn't care." Llmryn watched him closely, if he was here to kill him, then looking away was suicide. With what Valtar is now, the back Llmryn could hope for was to hold him off and escape.

"No need to be so, as you put it.. dramatic."
Moving around the desk, Val'atar takes a seat. Leaning back, he regards the drow opposite of him with a casual smile.
"You always did know how and when to fight and when to concede. I applaud you for that.. and no, I have no intention of stopping you or killing you. You would have never seen the blade should that have been my desire old friend, I'm here to decide what it is your doing, if I care to allow it and how you intend to continue to impress me enough to allow you to stay.
You are correct, I did happen to have one of my assassins come across a young thief with a vial of something, but without knowing exactly what it is, you understand I was cautious about opening it.
So Llmryn, do explain this whole little sordid affair to me so I will know what it is your doing in my city with so many of your fellows in boxes."

Valatar knew just how to appeal to Llmryn's ego. Llmryn basked in the compliment and grinned ear to ear. He sat his elbows on the desk in front of him and laid his chin in his hands. "Well now...as for what I'm doing here again..." His grin faded, and his eyes again grew dark and cold. "Your not an idiot...so lets not kid around anymore about what happened. In your city, almost three hundred of my students and myself vanished in minutes. Not something you can cover up very well. In the end it was this very experiment I'm working on now that was the cause. When researching magic, there is always danger..." He sighed for a moment and looked down at his desk with eyes downcast. "The spells used to create my new line of research require lives of those associated with deities. More specifically, deities that grant powers onto those that worship them. When that preparation became unstable it cost the lives of every living creature in my house that day. I managed to live because the spell I used for this act is a magic circle design, and the center of that circle acts like the eye of a storm. So, lucky for me, I'm still here and able to tell the tale."
He reached in his desk and pulled out an empty vile, and a purple crystal of undefined shape. "In the chest of everyone that died that day, was this." He held up the crystal. "This is what the spell I created myself does. It localizes and encases a part of the soul linked to that ones deity, the next part of the spell takes the astral form of the soul and makes it into a physical form with a kind of transmutation." He slams the crystal down on the table and grabs the vile. From the crack in the crystal and purple fluid drips into the vile, looking exactly like the vile Valatar currently owns. "And in the end, you have this. I call it False Blessing, and any that ingest this liquid will then gain the powers of the deity worshiped by the one this crystal came from. This one is Llolth, it is the most plentiful of my collection. It does have side effects, and getting rid of the pesky side effects is my next venture. It seems the gods never wanted someone like me to come around, and even after getting this far, they are still laughing at me. But when I figure out a way around the side effects...I will be the one laughing..."
And at that moment...Llmryn himself, looked like a demon.

Watching the drow before him, Val'atar was reminded of the grand schemes of his father. Plots within plots to over throws the gods, to tear from heaven the power they were denied and he heard a whisper of an echo in this plan. Indeed the fervor of this drow was akin to the fanatical devotion of some demons to their Blood War, but unlike them, Llymrn had no focal point aside from the getter wealth of power. Perhaps that was his weakness.
"You have impressed me, few ever manage that little spider.
So be it, you will be given freedom to continue your experiment, provided you keep me updated from time to time and allow me to buy some of this merchandise.
Also you will not sell your product to anyone who openly opposes me.. on pain of servitude for eternity as one of my soul-bound slaves.
Do we have an accord?"

He was silent for quite some time, then he put a cap of the fresh vile and rolled it across the table. "Don't worry, we have an agreement. And about that one...it's on me." He looked up a bit from his desk, "You know...you may just be the closest thing I have to a friend these days...Maybe you have earned the right to see a bit more...of what goes on here." He stands up from his seat and moves to the door. "You see...there is one more thing...to this little tale of mine...but it's more of something that needs to be seen." He smiled weakly and motioned a was for Valatar to follow. "Let's visit my lab shall we? I would not care for the eyes of others to see what I wish to show you, and I mean no offense, but you are one many wish to watch."

Curious, Val'atar follows after the mad little drow male. His only friend eh, the fool didn't trust anyone and Val'atar knew it. This was motivated by something else and honestly given the spark of insanity that seemed to flicker within Llymryn's eyes.. he knew it could even be a trap. Casually, his thumb turns a ring on his hand to the inside so it could be activated with a touch should it prove needed.
"Tell me.. what is it you wish to show me that is so secretive.. surely you must know that no one can spy on us while I am here. My magics alone would notify me if someone tried and I have no doubt you have your own forms of protection."

He looked over his shoulder as they walked, "It's true that you are well protected...if it wasn't for that, I may have tried to kill you myself when I first made this city my home. But still, I'm not one to ever take risk." He stopped in the hall and touched one of the stones that constructed the wall. The stone turned purple in reaction to his touch and opened up a room, Llmryn's personal lab. "It's true...it the past I may have wanted to murder you, but you are starting to get on my good side. Consider this, my person apology.
The room was liked with many tubes, filled with a strange green liquid, and in this liquid were the bodies of many drow. They were still alive, but just barely. Male and female alike floated, naked and motionless. The arrangement of the tubed seemed to correspond with the large magic circle what was on the floor, and still active for that matter. "This is were I preformed the original experiment." He walks through the magic circle to the center, leaving Valatar at the edge of the circle. "Can you feel it? Inside this circle, is the overflow power the crystals couldn't hold. I want to know if this power can be contained. What I mean is, was I even looking in the right spot for my answers? Is the answer the crystals, or is it right here?"

Pausing to look around, he moves closer to the circle but stays clear of it. He was after all a half demon and he knew well the power of any circle, be it warding or binding. Still the raw energy rippled off this spot in an ebb and flow that almost felt like a heartbeat. had this mortal some how happened across something he was never meant to discover? Was this a chance for greater power than ever as a Chosen or.. no, Val'atar reined in his thoughts and then focused hard on Llymryn's mind, sending out a tendril of the power the fish b***h had taught him, brushing over the surface thoughts.
"I can feel the power.. but its like nothing I have know. I will have to study it, do some magical tests and research a few ideas. I might have a tome with information that could help within my estate.
If you would permit me, I will return after a bit of digging and see what I can do to aid you."
Talking a step back, he kept his gaze on the drow the entire time, one hand near his belt, the other held away from himself. Val'atar hadn't felt this rush.. was it fear? in so many years and yet he knew that something important was occurring.

Standing inside the circle, the only feeling Llmryn had, was bliss. His soothed smiled and relaxed facial features showed this very opened. The power that rose off the circle flickered and danced off his flesh, and he felt more alive than he ever has. His attention returned to Valatar, and grinned wide, and spoke with a tone of voice that could send shivers down the spine of any moral man. "Yes...please do, but do hurry back."

Acquiescing with a nod, Val'atar steps back, then withdraws. He turns and with a rapid step, makes his way out of the room, following the path they had taken to get there. Not too quickly for his own taste he reaches the outer walls of the estate and once he was beyond them, he summons his powers to shadow-step away from the chaos of this mad drow and his experiments.

Time passes, and all the while, Llmryn sat at the center of that circle. It was almost as if returning had intoxicated him with the raw power that was emanating from the circle. All that time, that magic of the circle had been seeping into his own aura and becoming part of him. But, with this came physical repercussions. His flesh and changed with the power. His lower half had formed into the body of a large spider, his arm count went from two, to what was now six. Two sets of blood red eyes had grown to replace his previous two. Also, extra spider limbs had sprouted from his back, he was the very image of a monster under Lloth.
"Very...interesting", whispered the mad little drow as he somewhat came back to his senses. "The changes were...unaccounted for, but I can work with it..." He opened his hand as a snake broke out of the skin. "Well now my little friend...why don't you go mix up some trouble...why don't you start by checking up with my little thief friends at the market place." With that, the snake dropped from his hand and slithered off.
Next, and held out all six of his arms and closed all his eyes. In seconds, purple beams of light emanated from his body and traveled all over his home. When the last of his estate was covered in the light, the glow faded, and in it's place was webbing. "Come...my friends...show me how you dance in the face of terror."
Uh...no, I don't think so. Becoming a drider is not really a blessing. And what's with the archmage/demigod status? I can see that you've made an attempt to justify it, but you should discuss this before simply doing it. - Mr Lapus
