((Okay. I'm sorry, but I can't post to that. D:

Because that's not even Abel.

Seriously.

No offense. I love you to death, but that's NOT ABEL. And it's hard to have a dynamic going between characters when they have the same character type going... so... yeah. Um. Talen and Abel both being badasses is just...

Not going to work. OKAY THANKS GOODNIGHT. DON'T HATE ME. Abel started out as this you know... awesome cute kind of meek character... all good, pure, and innocent and suddenly it's all... this. So I dunno. Ignore me if you want, but I don't think I can post to this. D:!!!))

((Hahahaha. I love you. I understand. I really didn't even read over that last night... I was kinda just too tired to bother. D:

You see, that's what happened to me when I was yelling at you about that other post. I kept trying to make it him in that one situation. It's kinda hard since I usually don't play these kind of characters...so it takes some time for me to get into it.

But yes, I'll change it, don't you worry...))

((By the way...your avatar is the ugliest thing in the world. xD Just like you! YAY it matches! ...kidding...maybe. ))

Abel felt his hands tighten when Cain stopped punching and started to yell. He winced at the sound but held his position, in case the bigger boy would start throwing punches again. He couldn't let anyone hurt Talen like that. He knew he could have easily gotten beaten up in the fire, but he had to protect what he had now.

As Cain twisted under Abel's grip, he stopped breathing and watched Cain carefully, letting him yell and spit. For a moment that fear that had been ebbed away by anger came back, images from the past leaking up into his mind and causing his fingers to burn even more.

Finally when Cain jerked away, Abel took a step backwards. For a brief minute Cain vanished, replaced by a nightmare he had long forgotten. His heart thudded heavily with panic and he took another step back, mouth going dry. Then it was gone again, in a blink of an eye, Cain was still there glowering and being full of rage.

Cain's words hit Abel like a knife, but Abel one watched him, trying not to back down nor run over there and kick him where it hurt. The fear held him back, told him if he made any move it would make things even worse. If what Cain said was true, there wasn't much he could do. All that was possible was to hope that Cain would keep it to himself. At the moment he could only worry about Saul and Talen. Abel was dead, he was safe, but Talen and Saul weren't. Every move Abel made was basically a move Talen or Saul made...it was their safety on the line, not Abel's.

Abel slowly turned around when Cain left and he looked to Talen, anger withdrawing from his chest, hands cooling down, and fear and concern replacing itself in his gut. "We need to get Saul to a doctor quickly..." he said, voice wavering as he knelt down by the boy again. "I..." He paused and furrowed his brows. "I can't..." Again he paused and leaned back a bit, watching Saul with worried eyes.

"Hold on just a bit longer, okay? We'll get you some help and you'll be up and at 'em sooner than you know okay?" He smiled weakly, feeling his eyes well up, only now was the reality of the situation sinking in. "If you don't hold on, I'll feel as if all of this was for nothing. So don't you close your eyes and don't you give up." He nodded and blinked away any moisture. Glancing down at his hands he noticed they were trembling. Quickly he pushed them together and licked his lips. "Please...please tell me some how that I am doing what you want. Please just let me know this is where I belong..." He whispered under his breath, turning his hands within themselves over and over.

After a few minutes he leaned over Saul and gingerly started to pick him up. "Talen...if you're okay...can you help me bring him to a doctor or something? He needs help..."

((Hahaha hopefully that's bettuhr. Abel is not MADE for drama. Haha.))

((THERE HE IS! <3333.... Hahahaha, I'm so glad you understand D: I felt like such a loser saying that. *cracks up*

AND MY AVATAR IS AWESOME STFU D:<<.. XD))

Saul rolled his head back against the brick wall. He was making a scratchy noise in the back of his throat. He raised a hand at Abel and lowered it as if to wave him off. Talen turned his burning gaze back to his two friends. His smile tilted at Saul.

"That little a*****e is laughing." He said to Abel, settling a hand on his shoulder. "You little a*****e." He said with a laugh, but his movements were still on edge, his mind still elsewhere.

Saul's red mouth tucked into a failing smile. He raised his head back to help keep his eyes open. Through his pain somehow he must have heard Abel's words, or maybe he didn't hear anything at all, but he reached out with his chapped fingers and grasped at Abel's hands. He leaned forward and pressed his forehead to Abel's knuckles as if in prayer.

When he was being slowly taken into Abel's arms Talen seemed to come to again. "Let me... Geesh... just... here." He stuck his arms under Abel's and slid Saul's limp body against his own chest. "I'm fine. Just a few bruises... probably would have been worse if you hadn't... well." He didn't finish that. He was grateful in his own way, and he was sure Abel knew that.

"I don't..." He didn't know where to take him, but he didn't finish that sentence. He wasn't sure if Saul was clean, what he could have said... what questions they would ask, but he couldn't have possible taken care of Saul himself. He looked down to the friend in his arms, his head was turned to watch Abel.

He didn't have a choice.

"Damn it... the nearest place is a few blocks away... can't you... can't..." He trailed off and looked frustrated. "Follow me." He said and walked as fast as he could with Saul settled tightly in his arms.

((Hahahaha nooo. I felt the same way on that one post. I got so angry...hahaha. Abel is difficult. But I guess that makes him fun. D: ))

Abel blinked and turned to Saul when Talen said he was laughing. He gave a little laugh himself. The fact Saul could find humor in all of this was something Abel found admirable. People who made life fun were the people who lived the longest. With a smile he looked back to Talen when he moved to pick him up.

"Ahhhh...you sure? I mean...I can..." But he knew it was pointless, Saul was already in Talen's arms. Abel got up slowly and dusted himself off. "You could have died." He said with a little smile as Talen spoke about Abel getting in the way. "You tend to come close to death often...don't you? Like a cat. Nine lives. Let's hope this is only your second." He took a few steps back as Talen got up with Saul.

"Few blocks, right." He nodded and followed after Talen. His eyes cast upwards and rubbed his hands over his face. "Thank you..." He whispered before walking the rest of the way to the hospital.

When they got there Abel quickly moved ahead of Talen and opened the doors for him. That's when they got into the waiting area. There were people already waiting on chairs and holding wounds and pushing cloth against cuts. Nurses ushered people in and out, one nearly bumping into Abel. "Sorry...sorry." He murmured and looked around.

He couldn't believe there were so many people waiting for some simple assistance. "Where is the doctor?" He asked, voice nervous as he moved closer to Talen, eyes darting around as people continued to come in and out. "He needs help right now. All of these people need help right now."

A few people looked up to Abel as he spoke and he glanced at them, smiling fleetingly. "Look at all of them...even a child...where are the doctors?" He started to move forward but was knocked back slightly by another nurse, pushing an empty wheelchair. "Excuse me! My friend needs serious help..."

"Wait your turn like everyone else." She snapped. Abel was left stunned for a second, his face confused and nervous.

"Talen...these people..." He drifted off as his eyes caught the gaze of a little girl, her eyes wide as she stared at him. She tugged on her mother's arm but the mother was busy on a cell phone. Abel smiled at her and she seemed to noticeably relax, a bruised hand resting on a small knee. "Is he still awake?" Abel asked Talen, still watching the girl as she smiled to him and giggled with glee.

((Awwww. Hahaha.))

((I SEE D:<<< *posts real quick and then goes to shower*))

Talen grumpily pressed his way through the doors and dodged a few nurses.

He hated hospitals.

Abel seemed dazed and confused. He could feel him pressing up against his arm.

"Cool it, Abel." He said soothingly as he could. "We gotta wait our... yeah. What she said." He said of the nurse and shot her a nasty look. "Let's find some... yeah. You still awake, Saul?" He grinned down at his friend.

Saul flickered his eyes tiredly at Talen and gave him a tilted smile. He gave a shadow of a shrug.

Talen laughed breathlessly and moved his way to the hospital chairs. He quickly sat Saul up in one as best he could. He leaned hard to the left and groaned. Talen caught him with a hand and pressed his forehead to his briefly.

"I'll get someone." He said to him urgently. "Abel. Sit next to him. Let him lean on you." He waved Abel down. He then moved his way through the crowd to the desk at the back of the room with an air of stubborn determination and look that said he wouldn't take no for an answer.

((OKAY.))

Abel quickly did as he was told and sat next to Saul, letting the boy lean against his shoulder. "This place...it's so hectic. Everyone seems so bitter too. Or at least the nurses." He said to Saul and glanced back over to the girl who was trying to get out of her chair. "Children are so cute and innocent." He mused as she finally got from her chair and made her way over to Abel and Saul.

"Hewwo." She said with a wide, gaped smile, some of her teeth missing.

"Oh. Hello." Abel said sweetly.

"Ish yo fwend okay?"

"Ummm...no. You see...someone hurt him."

The little girl gasped and tried to crawl up to see Saul better. Abel looked to the mother who stood up and moved a bit as she talked on her phone. Slowly Abel picked the girl into his lap so she could watch Saul.

"Yo gots lots of owwies." She looked at Saul with worry and moved to touch him but Abel gently pushed her hand away.

"Careful there. You might hurt him." Abel smiled to her when she furrowed her brows. "What about you? Where did you get that...owwie?"

"I fell." She said as soft as a whisper and Abel could hear the hesitation in her voice. "I fell, mommy said."

"Your mom said?" Abel shifted her on his legs and looked back to the mom who waved her hands slightly in the air. "I see..." He said, pain in his heart, he knew the truth...and it hurt him to see that a girl so young was already being put through pain. "Well I'm sure you'll be better really soon!" He put a hand to her head and she smiled up at him again.

"Yo fwend weel get betteh weal soon too." She gave a cheerful laugh and Abel chuckled with her.

"I'm positive he will."

"What's yo name?"

"Oh, Abel. My friend is Saul. How about you?"

"Mah name's Jessica and I'm foh year old."

"Ohhh the big four, hmm?"

Jessica nodded vividly and looked back over to Saul, still smiling.

((LOL, POSTTSSSSS.))

Saul leaned against Abel lightly when he sat next to him, but he kept his head up. His eyes would slide almost closed every other minute or so, but he'd shake himself awake. When the little girl ambled up he seemed more awake.

Watching her he shrank back a little. He must have looked terrible, like a monster, and this little girl was talking to him like it was nothing. He felt inhuman next to this little girl. He could feel his face swelling and he was sure his nose was broken. He still smelled faintly of pot and the night before he hadn't even slept, spent it all moving around to keep away from Cain. His face was sunken and destroyed and his clothes were filthy.

He made himself smile at her with bloody teeth, thought better of such a large smile and smiled with his lips pressed together.

"I'll be alright." He rasped in a dreadful crow. Saul thought he sounded horrifying.

And she continued to talk and for some reason Saul felt his eyes burn. His face ached and he felt himself clenching his teeth. Her words, the way she talked about her mother, undid him. She smiled at him sweetly and the next moment tears were rolling down his face, unheedingly. He screwed up his face and tucked it into his shoulder crying rivers.

((hahahaha, awww. Saul is such a hugemongus ball of emotions.))

Talen had stormed up to the desk pushing his way to the front of the line. A rough looking boy with a swollen face, busted hand, and a split open lip was not something anyone was ready to mess with and they parted without so much as a word of complaint. The unlucky nurse at the computer saw that look in his eye and looked to either side as if for an escape.

Talen spotted this moment of weakness and bore down upon her over the desk. He licked at his bleeding lip distractedly. "I need help with someone and YOU'RE going to help me. He needs URGENT care and I don't give a flying ******** about this 'wait your turn' s**t. He needs URGENT CARE." He repeated firmly. His dark eyes dared her to refuse him.

It might have been Talen's demanding tone, the fact he looked like he could have beaten up gangs of wild animals, or maybe it was the desperate almost pleading look in his eye that swayed the nurse from her desk, but whatever it was she gave a curt nod.

"Take me to him. I'll look at him myself."

((Awww Saul's so cute. x] ))

Abel tilted his head when he felt Saul's emotions well up. He could feel the tears burning off of the other boy's skin and Abel looked back to Jessica when she looked to Saul with a worried look, both Abel and her almost identical in expressions.

"Wha's wrong?" Jessica asked and Abel shook his head.

"It's quite alright, he's just letting it out. It's a very healthy thing for a man to cry." Abel said and smiled to Jessica when she nodded. A look crossed his face and he took Jessica's bruised hand in his. Something lit in his chest, something told him... "I hope your owwie gets better." He whispered and placed his other hand on top of hers.

Jessica gazed up at Abel with wide eyes. "Abuh?"

"Yes, dear?" He asked, closing his eyes and concentrating on her bruises.

"Why you here?"

Abel let go of Jessica's hand and looked to her with surprise. His eyes glanced up and he smiled slowly. "Your mom is looking for you." He motioned to where her mom was, looking around before spotting Jessica. She hurried over to her daughter and pulled her off of Abel's lap.

"What are you doing? I TOLD you not to talk to strangers!" The woman yelped and glared over at Abel.

"But mama...he's not a stranguh."

"Like hell he's not! You've never talked to him a moment in your life! As for you!" She glared at Abel more and he winced a bit before glancing down to Jessica who's face was distraught. "What are you doing going around picking girls up?"

"We were just talking...it's okay..." He said reassuringly and gave her a smile. The woman looked taken back for a moment and she breathed out. "Keep her safe. She's the greatest gift God will ever give you." He leaned back slightly and smiled with such a radiance that the mother watched him and looked down to Jessica.

"Abuh?" Jessica piped up.

"Yes?"

"Will I see yo ageen?"

Abel's smile faded just barely and he took some of her fingers in his hand. "If you want to see me again...then you will."

"Let's go, Jess." She muttered and tugged her daughter down the hallway where a nurse was waiting.

Abel then looked over to Saul and laughed a bit. "It's alright. I have a feeling she'll turn out okay." He made to pat the boy's head but thought better of it, knowing it might hurt him. Instead he nodded and looked away. "She's a pure spirit...they always turn out okay. We just have to hope she's strong enough for the world's burdens..." He trailed off and tilted his head back, closing his eyes as he laced his hands together. He prayed that he was right...prayed that the girl would be okay, and that her mother would find peace soon enough. Just the words that came from the mothers mouth made Abel feel troubled. She was in utter pain...and Abel wished her pain would be mended soon.

Just before Jessica left she waved her hand and there were no bruises.

((LALA. I thought that was so sweet...))

(( *shiny eyes* oh yes. Very sweet. HUZZAH. Sorry for the delayed posting... I went to a party and had this allergic reaction and my eye got all swollen and itchy and gross.

AND THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T POST UNTIL NOW.

LOTR is good times, by the way. So much man crying.))

When the little girl spotted him crying he just shook his head and retreated deeper into his shoulder. It had been years since Saul could remember crying and he felt so stupid for being undone so quickly and easily. Maybe something in him was still like how he was before, before his life started going down hill.

After Abel and Jessica's exchange Saul wiped roughly at his eyes from the back of his hands to his elbows. He looked at Abel through swollen eyes and smiled like a grimace.

"Y-you did something." His voice croaked and he swallowed to moisten his cracked throat. "I felt it."

He might have said something more, his eyes were intent on Abel's face and he seemed to be struggling with words, but Talen returned with a nurse. When she reached him she gasped softly.

"Oh..." And she glanced between Abel and Talen. "How long has he BEEN like this?!" She demanded. She took the stethoscope from around her neck, plugged it into her ears and then placed it against Saul's chest. He winced a little and took deep breaths as commanded.

"YOU BOYS!" She shouted and then hailed a wheelchair. "It's a miracle he's still AWAKE! His lungs are full of fluid, you must have at least two broken ribs... your nose..." She glared at Talen like it was all his fault. "I don't know WHAT you boys were doing, but you're sure as hell lucky he's doing how he's doing!"

Once Saul was hefted into his wheel chair, Talen insisted he get him in it, he promptly passed out. The nurse glared daggers at the two of them and promptly wheeled him off to the back where she pushed him through a set of double doors.

Talen watched after him and then sighed. "What a day."

((Awwww you poor thing! Well I'm glad you're all safe and stuff. And you really aren't late at all...I posted really late last night. Cause I was off with tons of Asians for my friend's birthday. xD Seriously...my life is surrounded by Asians. But they are all amazing, so yes.))

Abel looked at Saul before quickly looking away. He had noticed Jessica's hand. He hadn't believed he could have done anything. He had heard stories from Hans and his friends about their journeys on earth and the things they did but he never in his wildest dreams, imagined he'd be doing the same stuff.

"I...I don't know what you mean..." He winced at the lie but was saved by a nurse rushing towards them. "Oh thank goodness!" He said in a relieved manner and moved a bit to the side to let the nurse do her stuff.

"Ah..." He tried to respond to her questions but she was already off onto the next thing and he rubbed at his hair nervously, unsure how to react or what to say to make her stuff glaring and shouting. Instead he sat still and blinked, reminded himself to breath when needed, and let the nurse wheel Saul away.

Once they were gone, Abel tilted his head up to examine Talen and sighed with the other boy. "Indeed..." he muttered and pushed back into his chair, sliding down a bit and rubbing his face in exhaustion. Every minute he spent with Talen was like a roller coaster. He had no idea how to handle it all. He had forgotten just what life could be like.

"Talen...how about you?" Abel finally said, quietly, as he pushed himself up again. "Are you okay? Do you need to see a doctor too?" His face pulled into a slight pout as he watched the darker boy, blue eyes steady on him. "Because if you need to see one, we can find one, I'm sure. Or I can take a look...I mean...I don't know if I can do much, but I can at least make sure you aren't dieing."

((Hahaha. He's so cute...))
PostPosted: Mon Dec 29, 2008 6:37 pm

((He ish just a little MUFFINNNNN... *rubs his HEAD* lolz.))

Talen had continued to stare after Saul long after the door's had swung closed. He wondered if maybe he should have followed after and what about Saul's family? Would anyone come?

He seriously doubted that.

However he was shaken from his somber thoughts at the sound of Abel's voice. He turned to look at him, intently at first as his mind slowly processed what he been said and then his features softened and he smiled behind his bruises. "Bah! Me?" He waved a hand. "I'm fine." And he laughed, falling into the seat next to Abel's. He rubbed thoughtfully at his face wondering how bad it looked.

"What's the damage?" He asked of Abel truly curious, and made a soft hissing noise as he discovered his split open lip. "That'll scar." He decided.

At Abel's offer he laughed loudly. "I'm pretty sure I'm not dying but if it makes YOU feel better, Abel." And he put a hand gently on Abel's shoulder and shook him. "ONLY if it makes you feel better and convinces you I'm not going to break into a MILLION pieces. I've had worse! Trust me."

Abel watched Talen carefully as he tried to blow his injuries off. It still didn't make Abel worry any less. His eyes darkened with concern as Talen noticed his split lip and Abel shook his head slightly. "You look pretty awful." He said quietly, being honest to the boy. For a moment he debated on telling Talen just the 'damage' he had. The simple fact he had been in a fight with Cain should have provided enough clues onto how beaten up he was.

"It will make me feel a bit better if I just had a look." He said patiently and furrowed his brows again. "And the fact you had worse really only makes me worried even more." He licked his lips and leaned closer to Talen, looking carefully at the bruises and cuts. "I..." Pausing he looked to the side and sat back again.

"Would you believe me...if I said..." His face looked confused and he tugged at some of his hair. "If I said I could get you healed...quickly?" His eyes glanced to Talen sideways and he took a steadying breath. "I'm not sure I believe it myself though..."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 29, 2008 7:24 pm

((Lawlz... I needa shower... and like... actually wash my hair. That'd be cool.))

Talen barked a laugh at the "awful" remark. "Sure are feeling honest today!" He said still laughing. "Frickin'... we talkin' Qausimodo damage? Or are we talking more like... Freddy Kruger. At least with Qausimodo I'm ugly yet adorable... Freddy Kruger scares the kids... and doesn't get hot gypsy chicks."

He then cut back on the jokes as Abel inspected him, but then shrugged. "Okay. Maybe not TOO much worse than this... maybe." He looked thoughtful, but then his eyes were drawn back to Abel's face. "Say what?" He whispered, and didn't quite know why he was whispering.

Talen glanced around and grabbed one of Abel's arms. "You want people to think you're crazy?" He said lowly and then got to his feet taking Abel with him. "Outside." He said and jerked his head towards the doors.

Once outside again he put his hands on his hips and tilted his head at Abel. "Say what now with the healing? I mean..." He looked around and made sure no one was nearby. They were in a little smoking area by a bench. It was completely deserted around them.

"I mean..." Talen gave a funny sort of smile and licked at his lips. He ran his hands through his hair. "I mean, I know you're all... angelic and all... but yanno... I thought it was more about miracles or something. Like, water to wine. Er... walking on water? You think you might be able to HEAL?" He looked around and made an expression that seemed to say he thought this was completely insane, but then he shrugged.

"Stranger things have happened. Lay it one me, huh?" He spread out his arms and shrugged his shoulders. He frowned. "... Do I like need to... wish upon a star or something like that?"

Abel looked to him and then around the area. "Ummm...I think I may be...crazy..." He muttered softly and looked nervous as Abel started getting to his feet. "What...why?" He asked a bit louder but let Talen pull him up. Abel followed after Talen, fingers fiddling together as a few people watched them leave curiously.

When they got outside, Abel looked to Talen and looked away when he questioned him. "I really don't understand either." He gave a frustrated blow of air through his nose and sent his eyes back onto Talen, a slight frown on his lips when the other boy spoke. "Jesus wasn't an angel..." Abel said quietly and smiled meekly as he tried to figure out what he was supposed to do.

"I was just talking to this little girl...and something in me told me to try it on her bruised hand...I didn't think it worked but it seemed to because they were gone when she was waving to me." He played with his hands some more, nervously still, before Talen spoke up again.

Abel raised his brows in surprise when he offered to try it out. "You...you sure?" He still had no idea if he was just imagining things or it actually worked. "I...I might just be...having hallucinations or some sort of that nature..." Silent, he glanced around him and walked closer to Talen. "I don't know...I guess...just stay still?" He rest on of his hands underneath Talen's arm, near one large bruise. "Okay..." Gingerly he put his other hand over the bruise and closed his eyes.

Taking a deep breath he concentrated all of his thoughts onto Talen's injury, brows puckering in deep concentration. He let his energy touch his fingertips, imagining it like a light pouring out from his hand and onto Talen. After a few minutes he let go and breathed out a long breath. He felt slightly tired as he blinked and focused on the world around him.

"...Did it..." He looked down to Talen's arm and saw the bruise had considerably left, the rest of it still fading color.
