Ria merely grinned at the teal wolf's comments. She couldn't think of much to say in response to them. At the mention of food, Ria's ears perked up. She hadn't eaten in a while. "Food sounds good right now. For the both of us." She stood, trotting over to the den entrance. "Shall we go hunt? Hopefully we'll be able to catch something other than a rabbit or two."

His cheeks turned pink slightly as he rose to trot to her side. He kept his head down slightly and mumbled loud enough for her to hear. "Wouldn't you prefer to rest, my lady?" He looked at her and longed to be with her, even if only to watch her while she slept. "You haven't gotten much sleep..." He paused, "Even if you didn't want to sleep, I'm sure we could find something better and more productive to do here..." He looked deep into her eyes, "But it's up to you, as I said my love."

While Ria was hungry, she was almost equally as tired. Well, if she got some sleep, she'd be more sucessfull in a hunt the next day, would she not? And if Kage thought she should rest, if not, sleep, he had to be right. Even herself, she realized that it was unlikely she had the energy to catch anything decent hunting...
Backing into the den slightly, she nodded, looking to Kage. "Well, I don't really want to sleep, to be honest. But I'm sure you can come up with something better to do?..."

He smiled lightly, noticing how tired and hungry she was. "Come back farther into the cave," he cooed, nudging her very lightly to follow. He licked her muzzle softly and rubbed his face upon her pelt. He stepped around her, careful not to step on her or ruin the moment. He was testing her, seeing how far she'd let him go. He didn't want to do anything she didn't want him to, but it was the winter, and he knew puppies were supposed to be created around this time of year. He slowed, coming closer to her, slow step by step. "I... I love you... Ria." He managed as he padded closely, rubbing against her lightly as he passed about. He gentley mounted behind her laying his head and neck softly upon her back. His teeth nipped her back caressingly, and his eyes watched her inhale and exhale. He came down, looking deeply in to her eyes, face solemn and cheeks reddened. He was proud of her, of what he'd done, and of what was to become of them as a couple. "Please, my love, rest. I promise you, nothing will happen while I'm here. Forever, and after."

((Lmao.))
Kage returned to the den that morning with food in his mouth. He laid it down softly in the opening of the cave. It was a bright, warm, sunny day outside, though the wind chilled what it touched. This weather was very weird for the wintertime, but Kage would not complain at all. Last night he made a bond with the one he loved that could never be broken, and he felt new and alive as a premature Da. He would take care of his pups better than anyone he'd ever met, and he was determined to make the best out of them. As for the protection, he'd kill anything that came within Ria's sight. He left the deer carcass in the mouth and then trotted over to her. "She's so beautiful," he thought, watching her sleep. "My puppies," he repeated and smiled, too excited to keep his mind off of the subject. He'd let her sleep as long as she wanted. Her life as a Mum was going to require alot of strength and energy, which he knew she could pull off.

(( OHANDWOOGASEDYEZTOTHISTIMESKIP D: ))
A damp, darkblue form of a female wolf lay on its back against a tree, one paw streched out and one pressed against her chest, she looked much like a puppy showing its belly for their master to scratch. Only, she was wet. Being rather warm, when laying on snow, she melted it and got herself wet.
Of course, this wasen't a good position to be sleeping in, but the wolf herself wasen't feeling normal, at all. She was still hearing things, and her drew was odd, probably why her position itself was odd. Even if she had slept for a rather long time, when she awoke, she seemed even more tired, rolling onto her stomach then getting to her paws.
She woulden't go back yet, no. She woulden't burden her friends with her crazy attitudes. Shaking her head, she lazily trotted along, even if she had the perfect chance to catch food, she'd ignore it. Its as if she didn't know that if she didn't eat, she woulden't survive. But she knew this all too well, much to her disgust. Why coulden't she just be.. normal? She used to be, for a while. And now something was happening, again.

The scent of food had awakened Ria. Slowly, she opened her eyes, blinking a few times before noticing that Kage had returned. Though she hadn't seen him leave earlier having been asleep, she assumed he'd left and hunted by himself, as Ria could smell no other close by.
Standing, Ria stretched, releasing a loud yawn. Shaking some dirt from her fur, she recalled what had happened the night before. Mating. Ria was glad that it would be Kage that was fathering her puppies-to-be, as she would rather have it be him than any other wolf in the world. He cared for her- she cared for him. And together, they would be caring for thier own family. "Family...", Ria said out loud, not realizing she had done so. "We are going to have a family?" Obviously, she knew what the product of mating was, though she seemed not to believe she was going to have children herself. Trotting over to Kage, she nuzzled him, sitting and glancing at the food he had brought to the den before something struck her mind--
What would Gyani think of this? She'd be an aunt of sorts. Would she mind watching the puppies every once and a while after thier birth? Ria hoped not. But, that wasn't a thing to worry about at the moment, as Ria had a feeling it'd be a little while longer before her friend returned.

Kage nuzzled her softly in return, glancing at her tummy as she whispered. "Family," he repeated and smiled, a sparkle in his eyes. "You'll be a great Mum," he whispered in her ear, looking at her hopefully and sensing her doubt. "I will be there for you," he said reassuringly, "I love you."
He sniffed the air decisively and looked to her with his yellow eyes. "She isn't coming soon is she?" He questioned, referring to Gyani. He had not seen her in a while and he was beginning to wonder where exactly she had gone. He was sure it had to be on Ria's mind sometime or another.

Ria smiled slightly, giving her tail a wag. The comment gave her some reassurance, and she knew, that with the help of Kage, she could a a great mother. But a great mother can't be great without a great father by her side. And she knew Kage would be just that. " I love you too, Kage.", she said, "And you'll be a great father."
At Kage's mention of Gyani, Ria flattened her ears to her head. "I don't think she will be, but there's no way to be sure, really. She just needs time alone to think, I assume. She's been very worried lately-- of what, I'm not sure exactly. Though I think she's been hearing things..., things that I have not heard, atleast. I just hope she'll be alright, though, I know she will be. She's smart enough to figure out a lot of things I can not. And I think that's why she might have left, to go figure out some things."

Kage tilted his head slightly, looking at her with a gentle stare. He didn't know what was truly going on, but he knew Ria, and she was a good enough source for information about her long-time friends. He nodded in a small and short way, then glancing to the mouth of the cave. He was holding his head high today, not willing to take anything from anyone, and he'd fight to keep it that way if nessecary. As for the den they were in, it wouldn't be suitable for their puppies. They both needed to migrate to what could be their new pack's home. "My dear," he said, keeping his eyes staring blankly out of the den, "when do you think it'd be safe to move... I mean... We need to find a new place." He took the emotion out of his chat to not disturb Ria any farther. He knew that meant either leaving Gyani behind for a while, or leaving her a trail to follow, unless Ria wanted to track her down, which was doubtful. The trail, most likely, would be much farther than mosts, for he wanted to best breeding ground ever.

(( enter the stag >} ))
Hart's liquid eyes rolled back in his skull as he staggered to a halt, his great and once powerful body stricken with pain from the arrow that had embedded itself into his hindquarter.
His breathing became erratic and finally he fell to his knees. Death was waiting for him and in his heart he knew that it wouldn't be long before he was risen to the great meadow beyond.
And there he lay, motionless all apart from his heaving sides and the mad twitching of his ears. What a pathetic way to go...

Stop. Just. Stop. She was tired, she couldn't take it, she coulden't. She kept hearing buzzings, and sometimes she'd hear something call her name. She still wasen't too fr from Ria and Kage though, if she howled loud enough, they'd likely hear it. Yes! Howling! If she spoke louder, maybe it'd stop? Like a puppy in the middle of many adults, then it just screams out loud, they'd get quiet! But before she could do anything, she smells something; blood.
There was blood somewhere, there was. She became worried, everything to her lately could mean something bad, like her brother. What if he'd killed another wolf?! Of course, she's in too odd a state to notice that this is a stag, not a wolf. She lowers her head and straightens her tail, sprinting towards this scent, there had to be something, there had to.
It wasen't long before she came upon the stag, but, on the opposite of what most wolves would think when they found such an easy kill, she didn't feel the least bit motivated to finish it off and eat. She just sat by it, caching the bit of breath she lost, good, it wasen't a wolf. It was a rather odd scene, a wolf sitting next to a dying deer, just staring at nothing. Pff.

Move? Find a new place? Ria knew they'd not be able to stay where they currently were, though, she'd been pushing the thought out of her mind. "We need to wait for Gyani...", she stated, a hint of anger in her voice. "I won't leave without her, Kage. I won't. When she returns, then we'll leave..." Ria had nothing more to say at the moment. She dispised staying in one place, which is why she'd never been in a pack. But now that she was expecting puppies, she had no choice. All she wanted was Gyani to come back. And she knew she would- best friends don't ditch each other. And Ria wasn't about to do so to hers.

He physically grimaced at her angry tone, but he nodded his solemn way to her. Inhaling a breath he smelt two distinct smells; blood and smoke. The smoke carressed his nose until his mouth was tinged with a charred spice. He turned, looking directly into the distance. He had to go. He wanted to protect Ria since she was so close to giving birth to his puppies. "I must go..." he wound off and then continued. "I feel like trotting around. You know, to get the feel of our temporary den." He smiled with a certain emptiness and then glided to the mouth of the cave. "Goodbye for now, dear. If you need me, I'll be near." He started off into the woods, searching for what was causing the scent he knew all too well.
