Rex balled the cling wrap up and shoved it into his pocket, making mental note to dispose of it when he got home later. Scrambling to his feet, the boy picked and dunked each of the items into the beaker one after another (except the oil, which he poured carefully in last).
As expected some items floated and some sank, like what Kunjiro said, and Rex was interested to note that adding salt increases the density of water.
"Is this why we aren't as... floaty-- buoyant in swimming pools than in the sea at the beach?" Rex asked as the thought came into mind.

"Yes," replied Xiao Ling. "That's why we aren't as bouyant in swimming pools than in the sea. That is because salt is present in sea water, making it more dense. If you are swimming or playing in the sea and the water accidentally got into your mouth, you'll notice that it is very salty.
Now we'll move on to the next experiment, but I need you two to wash the beaker on your table and leave them beside the sink to dry and throw the items into the thrash can. After that, you can take out the other beaker and pour the salt into it before filling the beaker with water. Also, don't forget to stir the water and please do not put the egg into the beaker until you are told to do so."
Kunjiro nodded and went into the kitchen with two beakers on both of his hands. Once the boy reached the sink, he washed the one filled with water first by pouring the oil-layered water out first. Kunjiro then threw the cork and the stone into the thrash can nearby before pouring the other beaker with water. After doing so, the kid took a spoon nearby and stirred it. When the salt has fully dissolved, Kunjiro left the spoon beside the sink for his friend and went back to his seat.
"Please place the egg into the salty water. If it sinks, tell me and I'll give you more salt. Pour the salt into the beaker until the egg floats."
The mushroom boy grabbed the egg on his table and placed it into the beaker but it sank to the base of the beaker. "Can I have more salt, please?"
"Here you go," said Xiao Ling, handing another small packet of salt to Kunjiro.
"Thank you mom," replied Kunjiro as he took the salt from her hand. The boy then placed the salt into the beaker and the egg started to float. Feeling amazed, he added more salt until the small packet was empty. As more salt were added, the egg moved higher and higher from the base.

"Yes indeed," Rex mumbled, making a face and sticking out a small part of his tongue. It was worse than just salty. Rex shivered, and went over to the sink to clean up.
Rex then moved on to the next experiment after spending some time at the sink. Like Kunjiro, the boy started out with small amounts of salt, stirred into his beaker. And more. And more. And more. And... his egg stayed put at the bottom of the beaker. Frustrated and getting impatient, Rex emptied what remained of his packet of salt into it, stirring furiously and as a result sending the egg swirling dizzyingly around the mini whirlpool in his beaker.
When the 'storm' had finally settled, Rex gazed into the beaker and presto! His egg was finally floating on top. "Lemme try something," he mumbled, and fished out his bottle of water from earlier. Twisting the cap off, Rex poured a small amount into the salt solution, and noted with delight the egg beginning to sink.
"Awesome. This is fun."

Xiao Ling laughed at the mini whirlpool in Rex's beaker. "Interesting, isn't it? This one is one of the most interesting experiment that is simple. You can try this experiment with other materials and you can use a basin instead of a small beaker, it can carry more water and items," said the guardian.
She then looked at the clock hanging on the wall nearby. "Looks like it's almost time, please wash the beaker and left it to dry like the others, you can keep the egg as a souvenir. And also, please copy this question on a piece of paper and complete it at home before passing it to me here."
"Write down the definition of density and it's function in note form please."
"That's all for now, thank you class."

It was Rex's turn to laugh then, as Xiao Ling suggested a basin. "I'll need a huge amount of salt for that," the boy quipped, grinning at the teacher. The boy shifted his gaze to the clock as well, and felt slightly disappointed as Xiao Ling announced time was up.
Rex tidied up his table and shuffled over to the sink to clean the beakers before putting them up to dry as instructed. Then he returned to his seat and copied down the assignment question.
"Thank you, miss," Rex said with a smile, standing up in respect to her. The boy stood where he was for a few seconds, before looking around awkwardly.
"Um... uh. Would you like me to help tidy up the place?" Rex asked, looking from Xiao Ling to kunjiro then back again.
King, on the other hand, was glad class was over. Expecting Rex to pick up his bag and leave anytime soon, the reptile blinked, puzzled, as nothing happened.
"Chrrr?"

"Your welcome," replied the guardian. "And I guess I forgot to tell you my name," she continued, feeling embarrassed. "My name's Xiao Ling."
Kunjiro stood up and cleaned the apparatus(again) before carrying his table and chair and put it in the store. The boy then did the same thing on Rex's table and chair. "I'll put these back," he said. "You can help my mom put her table back into the store, if you want to."
"Like Kunjiro said, you can help me with my table. But I think I'll leave it here first," said Xiao Ling, sitting on the teacher's table. "Are you free now? If you are, you can stay longer and chat with us."

"Miss Ling," Rex said, smiling at Xiao Ling. "Nice to meet you."
Looking over at Kunjiro, Rex hurried over to help him put away the tables, and was just about to settle down on the couch when King decided that it was time to go.
The twin-of-Rex willed their legs to move in the direction of Rex's bag, while at the same time flooding Rex's head with his point.
Homehomehomehomehome...
Rex yelped in surprise as he lost control of his legs. The boy spent the next few seconds stumbling and fighing for control, before his twin surrendered at his reassurance that they would be heading home soon. Reaching down for his bag, Rex grabbed hold of said item and turned towards Xiao Ling and Kunjiro.
"I'm sorry- I'd love to stay, but King would like to head home now."

Xiao Ling jumped in surprised at the boy's condition and heaved a sigh when the situation has calmed down. "It's okay, Rex," replied the guardian after knowing that the tyrannosaur kid had to go.
"So soon?" said Kunjiro to his best friend. The boy then frowned for a while before heading towards Rex to give him a hug, taking it as an advantage to ask his friend more about the magic class. "When will magic class start?" whispered Kunjiro to his friend as he let go.
The guardian then head towards the door and opened it for Rex. Kunjiro followed too, and the kid was waving to his friend as he bid farewell. "Do visit us soon, I know Kunjiro will be very happy if you do," said Xiao Ling, waving her hand to bid farewell.

Science Assignment "Density"by Atsutoshi KunjiroDefinition - the relative heaviness of objects, measured in units of mass or weight per units of volume. - SI unit of density is kilogram per cubic metre (kg/m3). - can also be measured by using gram per cubic centimeter (g/cm3).
Function/Uses
- to improve our lives, for example: . using the river to transport logs easily. . enables submarines to sink or float when water is pumped in or out of the ballast tank. . the use of helium balloons to carry heavy objects from the sea to land.

Rex blinked in surprise as Kunjiro huggled him suddenly. A smile soon crept onto his face as the boy caught what the latter said. "I'll try to ask Uncle Gryff when he'll have it next," came the whispered reply as Rex returned the hug. "I'll call you when I know."
"Thank you," Rex bowed to Xiao Ling as she held the door open for him. The boy stepped out of the room and turned around to face both the guardian and mishap.
"I will, thanks again," Rex said, then turned and waved back at the two before taking of at a trot in the direction of his own room.

Science Assignment "Density"Facts - a measure of mass per volume. - the average density of an object equals its total mass divided by its total volume. - the SI unit is generally kilogram per cubic metre (kg/m) or grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm)
Formula:
with ρ = the object's density (measured in kilograms per cubic meter) m = the object's total mass (measured in kilograms) V = the object's total volume (measured in cubic meters)
Density is used to: - figure out the buoyancy of objects/liquids - categorize and identify different materials

An invitation to classOnce again, Rexier Gaver stood before the door of his good friend Atsutoshi Kunjiro's home, wondering if it was a good idea to be there after all. It was rather late by Silencer's standard at 7.30 pm, and the boy was unsure whether it would be the same for Kunjiro's mother.
Oh well, he'd have to try.
"But I feel rude! Trust Uncle Gryff to come up with such a time to ask Kunjiro over..." Rex said aloud to himself, straightening his clothes. Reaching a hand in front of him, Rex asked the only one with him right there and then, "Should I, King?
Mrrm. A nod. You have to.
"True. I hope Miss Ling doesn't get angry at me. Here goes..."

The door was unbolted and opened not long after it was knocked by the tyrannosaurus boy. Behind the door stood Kunjiro in his pajamas, and the kid was surprised to see his friend at this late hour.
"Hey Rex! I didn't expect you to visit us at this time," greeted Kunjiro. "Mum and the others are asleep, so come in and take a seat while I go and change for a while."
After closing the door Kunjiro ran quickly into his room and changed his outfit before pouring two glasses of water for both Rex and King. "I was surprised just now," said Kunjiro as he offered the glass of water to his friend. "That you suddenly visit us at night. Is it something interesting you want to share it me?"

Rex took the glass from Kunjiro with a nod and a word of thanks, before taking a sip. Holding it in his right hand and fingering the rim with his left fingers, the boy smiled sheepishly down at his friend.
"Well, I'm not sure if it is, but remember--" The boy stole a glance towards the rooms and lowered his voice, "I told you about joining me for magic lessons? Well, Uncle Gryff's having the class tonight."
King peered at Kunjiro through the side of his eyes, eyeing the glass of water in the mushroom boy's hand disdainfully. The tyrannosaur was being unusually quiet that night, as the excitement and thrill of sneaking around got to him - a misinterpretation, of course.
