Demi sat completely still on the bed as Sigma left the room. She glaced down at the note he left with her, reading everything carefully. She blushed when he wrote that she was welcome here anytime. He even signed it. She sighed as she folded the note. If that were the case, he wouldn't have left in such a hurry. "I guess I scared him with all that personal stuff." She picked herself up and close the door behind her with a small thud. She twisted her hair in her fingers and she contemplated Sigma's feelings towards her. Did he see her as a friend? She wasn't exactly sure. Before she knew it, she smacked right into another body, causing her to lose her balance a bit. The person caught her arm, steadying her. She looked up to see Sin chuckling. "Oh...hehe, sorry, Sin. Guess I wasn't paying much attention." He shrugged, releasing her arm and asking her how breakfast was. "Too bad you missed it. You would have enjoyed your choice of cereal or watery oatmeal. Maybe lunch will be good." He gave her a face. "Soup. Right." A sound rang from Sin's stomach and Demi laughed. "Well, looks like you'll eat anything at this moment. Let's go. I'll get you some soup." She followed Sin slowly to the dining room, where he explained there was a guest with Logan and that both must be starving. When they reached the room, Demi ran into the kitchen and fetched three bowls of soup, balancing them in her arms. She walked back out slowly, careful not to spill, and handed one to Sin. "So, where can I find Logan and this guest?" He slurped as he told her they were in Logan's room. "His room. Right." She left Sin alone to eat and made her way down the hall, keeping the bowls as steady as possible.

Dion looked back near the door, where Sigma was, waiting to hand him something. Dion squinted his eyes as Sigma handed him a paper and proceeded to leave. Dion went to open his mouth, but shut it tight and read the note instead. It told him to tell Demi that he would be outside. He grit his teeth together as his overprotective side took over. What did Sigma want with Demi? His thoughts were cut short though as the voices of Travis and Alli could be heard from outside. He held his breath as they spoke of Brynn and how Rosen needed Alli's help. He was relieved when her heard Alli's footsteps down the hallway, but was surprised that Travis's were headed towards him. He leaned against the wall and folded his arms as Travis appeared. "So, what was that all about?" Travis's eyes were full of confusion and he lifted his shoulders. "You know, Brynn. What was up with that?" He recalled the red-haired beauty was spralled in Travis's arms as he carried her to Rosen. But, what was he doing with her in the first place?

Demi knocked softly as she entered Logan's room. She smiled as she held the bowls out. “Hey, I was told you had company and figured I’d bring lunch.” Logan waved her over as he asked what was being served. "Soup. What else?" She saw Logan crack a smile, as lunch was never a surprise. She finally caught attention of another girl, a few years older than her, in a chair across from Logan. "Who's this?" She marveled at the girl's beauty as Logan called her Lynn. Demi smiled in response, placing the two bowls on the desk, shoving over papers and other things in the process. She bursted with excitement with the thought of another female on the ship. “Oh! I’m Demetria, but I prefer Demi!” Even just the sound of her first name made her cringe, but this was the way Dion and her always introduced themselves. She bent down to whisper to Logan. "She's pretty. How'd you get someone like that?"

Rosen's mannerisms underwent no visible changes, keeping herself cool and impassive after the questions Mutt had asked. Upon closer examination Mutt noticed a shadow of nervousness and a flicker of doubt bypass Rosen's facial features, highlighted in the gleam and distraction that featured in her gold flecked eyes. One of the questions if not both had hit a sensitive chord, letting loose a crescendo of bewilderment. Smothering the triumphant smirk with a movement of his hand over his lips, Mutt waited in anticipation for Rosen's answer, glancing over to Allison as he did. “I haven’t heard much. I’ve been in here most of the day. But Logan did have a woman with him when he stopped by here earlier. Her name was Lyn. That’s about all I know.” Mutt's eyes roamed back over to Rosen, registering the complete calm and impassiveness exuding itself from her answer and persona, taking a mental step back Mutt reexamined what he believed he observed before. Perhaps his questions hadn't unsteadied Rosen's mental processes, perhaps it was nothing more than a figment of his own suspicious mind. But the woman's name was Lyn, could it be the same individual whose fiance was Cohen, future ruler of Destiny? Certainly auspicious fortunes if Mutt played his cards right, an ace here could go a long way to reveal and revel in a great opportunity. Lyn may be a common name in the clean cities or outside of them, he had no idea, so jumping to an ill-fated conclusion may end in his demise one way or another.

Whilst pondering this quandary Mutt felt Rosen touch his hand and pour three pills in his newly upturned hand, causing him to start at the unexpected contact. Looking up Rosen smiled delicately at him, a well practiced smile reserved for those that were in the infirmary like himself or suffered from a degenerative illness which gradually turned those individuals into nothing more than an organic doll. “Take one right before bed if you think it’s going to be a rough night. You’ll be asleep before you know it.” Nodding Mutt picked up and examined one of the capsules, lightly squeezing the reflective exterior, still warm from Rosen's contact with the medicine. Pocketing the capsules Mutt noticed that Sigma was now also present, a conundrum in himself, Mutt felt as if he would never understand the strange mans ways. Turning back to Allison Mutt smiled at her and opened his mouth in preparation of speaking to her but paused when he heard Rosen's question to Sigma, about any rumors of a new arrival. Mutt's heart hammered like a nail being rhythmically banged into place in an empty room, echoing and overtly loud. Clandestinely Mutt watched Sigma's reaction to the question almost letting a small curse slip when the infuriating man resorted to his notebook.

Biting his nail Mutt rotated to the right to look at the wall away from Allison's view, sorting through the torrent of thoughts that assaulted him. What would Sigma write? Probably that he hadn't heard anything, and what would Rosen think of that? It would assuredly lead her to become more aware of his actions, increasingly suspicious of his already sly motives. Mutt's brows furrowed deeper until eventually his brow became smooth and he sighed. Mutt resigned to himself that he needed to act with more caution lest he be exiled from the Highwind for treachery or something akin to that notion. "Thanks for the answers and medicine Rosen, you too Allison, so I'll be going now. See ya later you lot." Exiting from the room with concealed haste Mutt made his way to the Mess Hall for lunch, mulling over how he should go about acting with more caution from now on, as well as the new member Lyn and her possible connection to Destiny's Lyn. Upon entering the hall the smell of soup hit him, making his stomach rumble, reinforcing the fact that it would never be permanently sated for as long as he lived. Walking up to the counter Mutt chose a large bowl of soup and took it back over to a table enjoying the warm steam that evaporated on his skin. Grabbing a spoon Mutt dug into the soup with zest pausing only to judge the taste and determine that it was a hearty chicken broth, deep brown due to the flavor. He would enjoy this soup first then check around for more information on the new recruit, perhaps through being an observer this time, not a participant.

((Craptastic post but it will sustain for now. Lynn's post will be up in the morning hopefully))

Sin couldn’t help but smile to himself as he rounded the corner with a soft bound and trotted down the hall. Dirty jokes always made him feel better. His hand felt for his side, the gash was tender and the surrounding muscles ached with pain. Stopping for a moment he lifted his jacket and shirt to reveal a small dirty bandage, just barely covering the long laceration. Dried blood and plasmatic ooze speckled the bruised flesh. His finger prodded the area confirming his fear of swelling and over all infection. A frown pulled at the sides of his lips, the previous joy fading as he thought of the bitching out that undoubtedly awaited him in the infirmary.
“She’s going to ask questions…” Sin muttered, suddenly wishing he could with stand his pain and just let the wound heal. He didn’t want to involve her. That’s why he left in the first place, to keep her from his plague of problems.
“I could always lie…” He pondered out loud. The thought was sound but he knew it would never work on Rosen.
“There is always trying to bandage this b*****d myself…” This time the idea sounded better in his head. On many occasions he had tried to bandage himself and failed miserably, only to find himself in the care of another. And he wasn’t always lucky enough to have Rose’s gentle hands prodding around his body.
A shudder ran up his spine as the suppressed memory found it’s way back into his mind. Some things are better left forgotten.
Resuming his walking, Sin made his way to the infirmary, his hand massaging the area around the room hoping for some relief. From the hall, Sin could hear the whispers of conversation inside. It sounded like the Allison girl was in there with Rosen. He didn’t know Allison well at all, having only seen her a few times. From what he knew she worked under Rosen as a sort of apprentice, which in his mind was a blessing. The sooner Allison learned her way around the infirmary, the sooner Sin will be able to get patched up with out hearing the lectures from Rose about his “recklessness”.
“Hey, Alli.” Sin said to the girl, making sure he was on good terms with her for later rewards. She replied with a small hello as he passed, her eyes widening slightly.
“Rose…” She called, trying to get the other woman’s attention. Confused, Sin glanced down to see the side of his shirt a dark crimson.
“s**t.” He muttered, assuming that his “massaging” had caused the wound to reopen. Rosen had been sitting on the edge of her bed looking like she was about to rest, a thing that she didn’t do often, and before her standing was a man Sin hadn’t seen before. Guilt riddled his mind as he knew that Rosen’s hope for a nap had just vanished.
“Who’s the kid?” Sin asked, trying to hide his guilty expression.
“Sin what happened to you?” Rosen asked her voice tired and wry, far different from Allison’s near shocked response.
“Uh…I fell down the stairs?” She cocked an eye brow, with a disbelieving look, looking up at him with her golden eyes. Looking away she shook her head as she lifted his dirty shirt to examine the wound.
“Damn it Sin, it’s infected.” Rose scolded glaring up at him as she worked.
“Oh so that’s what the ooze means…” His sarcastic reply earned him a smack to the back of the head, but to him it was worth it. He lived to be a smartass.
“Allison can you get me some fresh bandages and antibiotics .” She said.
“Am I gonna need stitches Doc?”
“No you fortunate b*****d. Had you needed them I might just ‘forget’ to numb the area…” Sin smiled.
“Oh you know how I love it when you get rough with me.”
Another smack to the head. Still worth it.
The sound of pen on paper caught Sin’s attention, directing it to the unknown boy in the corner. He finished writing and passed his notepad to Allison.
“Uh…does he always do that?” Sin asked, incredulous to why he doesn’t just say what he needs, or whisper if needed be.
“Yes. Now hush.” Rosen commanded. Sin had to bit back his retort feeling that the next smack may be much harder than the previous if he released the dirty remark that lingered on his tongue.
Allison brought over a tray with gauze bandages and some tubes of antibiotics as well as a loaded needle. Sin shuddered. Bullet wounds he could handle, but needles where a different story.
Rosen’s eyes lit up slightly as she picked up the needle and jabbed it into Sin’s side.
“Ow! Retract the claws kitty there is no need to be so vicious.” Rose rolled her eyes.
“You’re so cheesy. Now hold still while I put the bandage on.” Sin complied without further response this time. His muscles ached and he was finding it hard to breathe with out pain. Even with Rose’s nimble fingers and delicate touch his ribs groaned with pain as she pulled the bandage tight around his waist.
“Knowing you and your recklessness, I have to make this tighter so it’s durable.” She said, seeming to sense his discomfort. Sin nodded, his eyes focused off just above Rose’s head. The memories of her and this place had haunted him since he left, and now that he was back that same indecisive feeling crept back into his being.

((Merry Christmas Everyone!!))
PostPosted: Thu Dec 25, 2008 7:55 pm

Sitting back in the chair, Sigma directed his attention to the door when Gunslinger walked in. He greeted Allison upon seeing her, and she returned the hello, but then called Rosen over after witnessing something that made her eyes widen. The first words to her were not what Sigma had expected.
"Who's the kid?" Being addressed as "kid" usually would have Sigma a little more angered, but he blew it off when he remembered who was talking. Ignoring this completely, Rosen simply asked what had happened, only to have a blatant lie returned to her. Their conversation carried on for a bit, and two of Sin's remarks earned him smacks to the back of the head, something that made Sigma laugh on the inside but remain neutral on the outside. He had no idea what was going on, and he was kind of curious.
Hey Allison, what happened to Sin? Cut? Gash? All I heard was something about an infection and Ooze. Upon passing it over to Allison, Sigma resumed his sitting, and waited for a reply. Allison held up her index finger to Sigma to indicate to wait a moment. She hurried off to get some tools for Rosen. He couldn't help overhearing Sin ask about his communication methods, and wondered why it mattered to people how he chose to talk. His thought, however, was interrupted by a sharp statement from Sin about the shot. Apparently, he didn't like them. Sigma could only imagine the physical torment he must be in if Rosen was making him groan in pain.
Glad I didn't do whatever Sin did. Sigma couldn't help thinking while playing with a button on his over-shirt and looking over at the two. With Allison back, Sigma waited patiently in his seat for Allison to respond to his previous question.

((I edited my previous post, and by edited, I mean destroyed. I turned it into a two part post, so this is part two of my last post. I only did this so it would fit with MistressOfTheWicked's post. I'll try to never do that again. But that's why they're both so short. They're technically one.

Allison watched Mutt carefully as he plucked the tube out of her hand and smiled sheepishly. "I guess I should say sorry for being a complete a** all day. Sorry about that, I've just not been thinking straight recently." Barely a smirk appeared on Allison's face, "Yeah..no duh you haven't been thinking straight. Me either... and no that's not good enough." Mutt added, "We'll always be good friends right?" Allison tilted her head slightly, "Was that....sincerity? Coming out of...Mutt?" Allison allowed a smile, "Sure Mutt, we can be good friends, if you'd like." Mutt continued on, with a slight smirk, "Oh and thanks for the ugh...for the medicine." Sensing the confusion as Mutt stared at the tube, Allison spoke up, "It's Orajel..it's commonly used for infants who are teething, or for children who are losing teeth to numb the pain. It'll work fine to numb the pain in your mouth now." She couldn't help but smile at his astonishment as he squeezed some onto his finger. He handed her the tube back and took a step away so he could apply it discreetly. She saw him flinch slightly, "Sorry..I forgot to mention it may burn a bit at first..."

She shook her head, "At least you helped somebody today..." Allison returned to her desk and replaced the small tube into the top drawer. "Not very busy today is it?...Any new arrivals to the Highwind recently? I've heard some rumors about a new arrival....What's their name?" Allison looked up from her desk and over to Rosen. "I just saw her...I don't know her name though.." Turning her head just in time, Allison saw Brynn escaping the infirmary. She let out a small sigh, "Eh..she'll probably feel better in her room anyway..." Allison returned her attention to Rosen and Mutt and sighed in relief when Rosen answered the question, rather than her having to. "I haven't heard much. I've been in here most of the day. But Logan did have a woman with him when he stopped by here earlier. Her name was Lyn. That's about all I know." Allison nodded at Mutt, "It's true." She saw Sigma entering the room out of the corner of her eye, "Of course.."

Allison watched Mutt carefully as Rosen handed him three pills, "Take one right before bed if you think its' going to be a rough night. You'll be asleep before you know it." He pocketed the medication and turned back to Allison. He smiled and opened his mouth to say something, but closed it when Rosen began speaking. Rather than continuing like Allison had expected, Mutt turned to the wall. "So much for wanting to be friends, eh Mutt?" He turned back to her, "Thanks for the answers and medicine Rosen, you too Allison, so I'll be going now. See ya later you lot." Allison rolled her eyes as Mutt exited the room in haste and muttered "Of course..." She sat at her desk and began organizing it--again. There was nothing really else to do and she didn't feel like going to the mess hall quite yet.

She turned her head to the left as she saw the door open to the infirmary yet again. This time, however, it was Sin. "Hey, Alli." She smiled in return and answered with a small hello. She stood up and made her way over to him, wide-eyed. "Rose..." Knowing the kind of relationship Rosen and Sin had, she backed away to her desk as Rosen approached. She listened as they bickered and only looked up from her desk when she heard her name, "Allison can you get me some fresh bandages and antibiotics." Rosen called. Allison nodded, and answered, "Surely.. be right back." Alli wandered over to one of the cabinets and began piling things on a tray that she would carry over. Muttering to herself, "Alright...gauze, a couple tubes of antibiotic..and.....what else? Oh right.." The nabbed a new needle out of one of the boxes and unwrapped it. She carefully pulled some more antibiotics into it and placed it onto the tray. She nodded, figuring that that would do, she walked over to the bickering two once more. She placed it on a table that rested close to them. She saw an almost..wicked look in Rosen's eyes as she picked up the needle and jabbed it into Sin's side. "Ow! Retract the claws kitty there is no need to be so vicious."

Beginning to walk away, Allison laughed--unable to hold it in this time. She gave Rosen an apologetic look as she was handed a piece of paper. She looked up and saw that it was Sigma and smiled, "Oh, hi Sigma." He pointed for her to read the paper. Hey Allison, what happened to Sin? Cut? Gash? All I heard was something about an infection and Ooze. She was about to answer but looked back over to Sin and Rosen, "I'll be back in a moment." She grabbed another bandage and placed it on the table next Rosen, "It's there if you need it.." Returning to Sigma's side, Allison sat down. "Well, Sigma, from the looks of it...it's a gash that's been there for awhile. Sin's stubborn." She spoke quietly, "I'm not sure what happened, but you heard right..it is infected." She looked at the ceiling, waiting for a response..

((Again..sorry for the lack-of-posty and she shear poop that came out when I did post..))

Travis now stood in the hall alone, Allison had walked away a moment ago to go to the infirmary. It had been a busy morning--people around him the whole time. Which, let's face it, Travis wasn't exactly used to..and then all of a sudden it went back to the lonely presence that he was used to. He sighed, to those who didn't know him very well it sounded like relief, but in all reality it was actually sadness. He scanned the area around him, looking for something to do before he went off to lunch. "Probably just soup again anyway." Looking down the hallway, he saw a quick glimpse of red flash by, "Brynn.." His mind finally reasoned that Rosen must have allowed her to go back to her room to rest. Shrugging he looked around again, this time realizing that he was next to the training room. He began slowly walked towards the room, even though it was only a few yards away. "I wonder what we have left to make for dinner... I'm gonna have to tell Logan that we need to plan another raid soon if he wants to eat decent dinners..." Standing in the doorway, Travis looked in the room to see Dion standing against a wall, staring at him slyly.

"So..what was that all about?" was the first thing that erupted out of Dion's mouth. "What the hell is this kid talking about?" Rather than being rude and starting another fight on the ship, he decided on just shrugging. With a quick rebuttal, "You know, Brynn. What was up with that?" Travis eyed the boy carefully, seeing the devious undertones in his face. "I didn't do anything to her if that's what you're thinking. I was walking around before I went to the Mess Hall and found her passed out in a corner. I brought her to the infirmary where she could be taken care of." He paused and now spoke almost to himself, "Those....weird swords in her back did something to her. That's all.." Travis now looked away from Dion, noticing there were no guns in the room, "What's he doing in here anyway? Isn't he afraid to shoot?" His glance then returned to Dion, noticing a 'yeah-okay' look creep onto his face.

With a sly, smart-a** smile Travis continued, "But enough with me, Dionysus, what's with your crush on nearly every girl that pays any mind to you on the ship?" A chuckle emerged from the depths of his stomach, "...and I've seen how you look at Allison." Continuing to laugh, his expression turned serious for a moment, "Listen, I know Allison pretty well. Once she joined the ship, she became a part of my family. You go ahead and have your little crush on her, but if you ever do anything to hurt her...you'll might find yourself in a field of embers." Dion's expression suddenly went from smart-a** to frightened four year old in a matter of five seconds. Travis laughed and winked, "No worries and... don't tell her that I said anything to you about that. She'd kill me." Now muttering, "Even if I'm really the only one that takes care of her around here..." Returning his eyes back to Dion, "Are you hungry?"

When Dion didn't answer him, he continued, "It's about time for lunch. We should...well at least I should, go see what kind of grub Dad managed to whip up. and..see if he needs help with anything."
