((It's all right, I only kill real Flans, aka. slime-like creatures.))
"Starved." Erik wasn't kidding, he actually had not eaten for two days, and he was hungry. He was also a little bit grumpy, which explained him acting like an a** to these fine, fine people at first.
((Erik was a bit of an a** in the beginning, wasn't he?))

Serena smiled at Erik's excitement over food and nodded to Nathan who went to the kitchen immediately. He was, after all, a better cook than she. "So, what do you guys like to eat?" she asked curiously. If she remembered correctly, they had fetched quite a variety of foods when they last went out for provisions, including fish, mainly for Nathan's sake, chicken, beef, and veggies.

"I'll eat anything as long as the first bite doesn't make me puke." Erik wasn't kidding, he would eat anything if he could stomach it, there was even one time when Erik had to eat grubs because he had run out of provisions. The thought still made him shudder.

"Hm..." Paania gave it a few moments of thought. "grass. Grass is nice." She gave a sort of blank stare. "I'll eat anything, really, sort of like him. It doesn't matter to me."

Serena nodded and ducked into the kitchen. "Hey, Nathan... Raw veggies for Paania... And get some meat for Erik. He'll need the energy," she said as she looked in their provisions, grabbing the veggies and setting them on a plate, bringing them out for Paania. "There you go, miss," she said happily before returning to the kitchen to grab Erik's food, along with hers. "Deer. Is that okay with you?" she asked him, looking at the cooked meat.

"Hell, why not?" Erik wondered why Paania would ask for grass. Erik figured she was some kind of legally insane. Then again, everyone was crazy in their own little way.

"Yum." Paania began eating. She was pretty sure the last time she ate, not including water, was maybe a week ago, or more. So it wouldn't have been hard to be as hungry as she was. It would have been hard to conceal it as well as she did.

Erik decided to pass the time until his food was ready. So, he took out a set of cards, the last gift his father ever gave him. They weren't your usual cards, they had pictures of weapons on them as well as a number in the bottom right hand corner. Erik had been told it was a game that the soldiers played to pass time, but Erik didn't know any real rules to the game. Erik preferred to look through them, and study them as if his father had left an unknown meaning in the cards. Whatever they meant, they were pretty to look at.

As Erik continued to look through the cards, he found one card he had never really noticed before. It was a picture of a human and an abomination shaking hands and smiling. Erik looked at the bottom of the card, and there, in his father's untidy handwriting, was the words "This is my dream. A dream where we can join hands as brothers..." Tears welled up in Erik's eyes. This was how my father felt? He thought that one day, there would be a peaceful future between humans and abominations?...Krious wants to drive a wedge between humanity and abominations...I must stop him. My father would have wanted it. Erik put the cards away.

"Hey, Erik. Was it part of your plan to become one of those people who wear all black and writes depressing poems and dress like vampires except that they are vegetarians really?" It was a bit round-about, but basically, Paania was accusing Erik of getting emo and gothy. She was leaning over the table to get closer to him, staring at him in that way that usually made people uncomfortable.

((So this is where you people have been. And no one told me!))
Erik laughed, as tears still rolled down his eyes. "Nah, I plan on being one of those people who kick a** all day long." He placed the card that his father had wrote on on the table.

Paania stared at him queerly. "OK then...you've got a long way to go. For example, don't cry when people are around you."
