are they french lops?

But n e ways tips....

1) Know the gender i made a mistake with that 3 weeks ago... crying and now all the kits are gonna die

2) clip nails once every 3 months at least...

3) how to put a bunny in a 'trance' this helps when clipping nails and checking genders.... First get the rabbit in your lap and put your legs together, make sure they are at a slight downwards angle, lay the rabbit in your lap upside down with it's head at your knees rub it's nose to it's head untill it closes it's eyes, now keep in ming they could come to at any second so keep your hand on thier belly while you do what you need to do. this also helps for checking teeth and getting used to handling when you take it to the vet

4) leave 24/7 acess(sp?) to hay... it is the majority of thier diet

5) let them out as much as possible... they need exersize too and it is good for them to have grazing time, i let mine out for about 30 minutes a day so they all get a turn

6) try to avoid punishing them like you would a dog they communicate in a different way and it would only make them scared of you

7) if you want them to socialize with animals of other species do it early... i used to have a cat that would get along great with my rabbit muffin but the cats i have now would try to eat her... dont let them near animals that might try to eat them

cool watch out for burrowing they would love to dig a giant hole in your yard if they got the chance

ninja ninja i think that is all i can say right now ninja ninja i might add more later lol ninja ninja

ummm my rabbits are social but not handelable, and they reeeeeeeaaaaaly need their nails cliped ^_^'> i cant even hold them so they get transported in a cardbord box

how do you hod them? it is best to hold them against you so they are comfortable and make sure thier feet are against you and if you place them on your lap they should be ok... them follow my instructions on number 3 and you should be able to clip thier nails easily enough

i do but as soon as my hand even touches there side (even if im just petting them) they run away. i tried the treat method, giveing them a treat and putting my hand under them, but now Betty wont take any thing from me unless its something REAAAALY tasty like fresh fruit or veggies.

I would let her get used to you feeding her without touching her then gradually pet her while you feed her and then eventually getting to picking her up but do it very slowly

I have a Dutch named Roxie (Roxie-sox x3). I made her a tunnel recently and she LOVES it. I found a tough cardboard "cement form" at Home Depot (they're just like giant paper towel tubes). I cut it in half, then cut off part of that so it's more like an archway, and carpeted it (all more difficult than it would seem xD). She runs through it, hides in it, jumps over it, puts her front paws up on it...

OMG i have a rabbit named Roxie too.... but then we found out that she was actually a he eek but he kept his name....

Same thing happened with my first rabbit! His name was Daphne!! rofl

I also have a girl named Buddy we got her the same time as Roxie so we made the same mistake
Three of us were there when our rabbits were gender-checked, and my Fawn still turned out to be a guy instead of a girl! xd I think it's probably easier to mistake guys for girls, since you have to, well, search pretty hard to find the tell-tale clues until they reach maturity.

My rabbit's back to recognizing me again! I've been sick lately, so I had an insanely weird voice on Wednesday. My boss said it sounded like I had it altered to protect my identity on TV. xd Anyway, when we opened Fawn's cage that evening, he wouldn't come out. No interest. He definitely didn't respond to me talking, and I didn't really want to touch him because I was feeling really crummy. I know there's probably no recording of most human germs being passed to rabbits, but we weren't taking chances.

Thursday, my voice was getting better, so Fawn realized after a moment of me talking and petting him a little that it was me. He came out and did some of his happy jumping/putting his front feet up on my legs.

Today, my voice is mostly better, just nasally. Fawn was already out when I got home, and his floppy ears perked up when I came in the door and started talking to my mom. While I wasn't home, he'd just been kind of wandering around. When I sat down with him - instant happy! He was jumping, and running, and sticking his front feet on me, and running, and circling me, and jumping some more! Then he'd wear himself out and lay down for a bit.... then it's time to run! Jump! Dash! Climb! Circle! Then he wore himself out again and stopped next to me to clean his ear. xd

Too cute! Just too cute! Seeing him get excited when I come home is one of the best things in the world.
lol that would be soooo cute unfortuante ly we cant let our bunnies wander the house because my dog Max is a yorkie and he would try to eat it cause they are so similar to rodents.... and i have a one eyed cat tht lived inside who would also like to eat a rodent

I raise rabbits, show them and all that stuf. it looks like you have 2 minilops. If they are out side in cages you want to make sure they dont get rained on and severe drafts. you want them comfortable. Clip their toanails every month so they dont break. fresh water 2 times aday. clean their cages once a week. Be sure to check there teeth annually sense they are in the lop family who are notorious for mallocclusion. Pm me if you have any other questions.

Any rabbit breed will mal-align if not encouraged to chew properly. While rabbits with more rounded skulls are inclined to do so more often, it's avoidable, if given the right chew toys.

Dutch, dwarf, Holland lop more-so than mini, are all prone to bad alignment with their teeth.

And yeah, I've been in rabbits over 17 years, and was accredited as a judge in my area.

thats what i used to do but as soon as i picked her up the 1st time it broke our trust. she's not as social as Princess is, she's more like a cat. very independent but will LOVE u if u give her something yummy. Princess on the other hand is like an over active, micheivious puppy. she does stuff on purpous, like move her box XD

they have a blanket (actually an outside table cloth, but it still works) that i cover the front and sides with when it rains or gets cold (when it gets really cold i use an old sleeping bad). i dont use the pan for under the cage but i rake up their poop of the ground and knock it off the bottom of the cage every 2-4 days. they get hay and cardboard to chew on and i try to get them those Little Buddy Pretzle Sticks small pet treats for rabbit, hamster, ect. they both have balls they play with and i give them fresh water every day, and refill their food every other day. they get fresh veggies from the garden and apples and bananas when we get them.

We have two cats that would surely eat our rabbits if they caught them outside the cage (they just sit next to the rabbits when the bunnies are in their cages) - we just block access to the kitchen, where our rabbits are let out, with a baby gate and a piece of foam board on top of the gate so the cats can't jump over. One of us is always in the room with the rabbits, so they're not left alone.

this is a very important need-to-know fact. never ever leta rabbit eat wild flowers any flower that u don't knowthe name of is bad for a bunny but htey like apples, raspberries and strawberries and I often give my rabbt lettuce or salad in a bag but never give a rabbit the bag
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 8:11 pm

Lettuce isn't that good for rabbits. Due to it's high water content lettuce can actually absorb pestacides that could be toxic to your bun. If you want to feed your bun greens I suggest going with something that you know for a fact is pestacide free.
