War Machine thought for a moment. "That's not really a convincing argument, but hell. I might as well, since we aren't getting anywhere this way and I know you'll just leave and find another way to do whatever you're trying to do." He rattled off a complicated code of Latin and other seemingly random words, and there was a click as the systems shut down. His mask slid open. "Now, if you'll come with me?"

Kara blinked, and then landed. "Okay..." Was it really that simple? After all the trouble he'd given her, she hadn't expected him to accept her explanation.

Noticing her confusion, he smiled. "It's all right. I'm a good guy. And I could never say no to girls anyways." He led her through the halls, where so many deadly traps apparently lay in wait.

Kara looked around, eyes wide. "This is... Really impressive, especially considering that it's earth tech. Your universe's earth must me a bit more technologically advanced than ours."

"So wait, you're from an alternate Earth? I've always wondered, does that technically make you an alien? Cause you're still from Earth..."

"I'm not," Kara said quickly, "I'm an alien in my universe. Although I understand the point," she added thoughtfully, "And I'm not sure."

War Machine nodded thoughtfully. "Hmm. I see." His mask slid back into place as they reached a large door. "What exactly are you looking for, might I ask? We can find something easier if you have an idea in mind." He gestured to a digital catalog that was nearby.

"Something along the lines of an interdimensional portal would be nice," she said slowly, looking at the catalog, "Or something that could lock onto power signatures. Preferably both. If I could get all of these things into one place at one time, then it wouldn't matter how much they duplicate." She made a face. "At this point, it doesn't matter how many I take out, because the ones that are left just make more."

"Let me think...I believe Reed Richards had an interdimensional portal that led into an alternate dimension where we put our villains in jail. Is that the kind of thing you want?"

"That sounds great," she said immediately. Anything would have sounded great at that point.

"OK. We'd have to go to the Baxter Building to get that. Or perhaps lure your magic user there. Inside the vault we have a few beacons and trackers that might come in handy, although I don't know if you can lock on based on powers." War Machine thought for a moment. "Unless his powers are radioactive or elcectromagnetic or something."

"I don't think they are," she muttered, her eyes hard. "They seemed more magic based than anything else... Dammit." She paused, thinking hard. "I don't think this is going to work. I need to find another magic user, much as I hate to admit it."

War Machine tapped his armored chin with a soft clinking noise. "Well, I don't know about your Earth, but here on ours, we have a Sorcerer Supreme who kind of knows everything about magic. Name's Strange. I think he's in New York somewhere."

"New York..." Kara said slowly, raising an eyebrow. "Okay. Anywhere in particular that I should start looking?"

War Machine let out a mechanical laugh. "You? You're new to this world, and you don't even know who you're looking for. I'll be accompanying you, of course. There's not much for me to do around here." He accessed his suit's memory. "Let's see. There's a newspaper that we might check for sightings of Strange. It's called the Daily Bugle."
