Now she was really confused. She didn't recognise any of those names. What on Earth happened?

Flash saw the look on her face and instantly felt a pang of guilt. "Look... Let me take you home. You obviously had no idea what this place was, so the chances that you actually belong in here are pretty slim. Where do you live?"

The pair happened to be standing in front of Victor Zsasz's cell. Although insane, he wasn't an idiot, and he was standing right behind the door, but wasn't reaching through the bars of the small window in the door. Zsasz said to the pair, "Look, it's another one of the super-zombies. And he's brought a friend. I could easily make room for a pair of marks for the two of you. How would you two like to be posed when I grant you my gift? In a lovers embrace, perhaps? Maybe I could have you enjoying a coffee, Flash, while the woman cooks a meal in the kitchen..."

"Oh, shut it," Flash snapped. He hadn't had a whole lot of experience with Zsasz, but he knew that he was crazy even by rouge's gallery standards. "Go mutter to yourself in a corner, or something. We're in the middle of a conversation."

A creepy smile appeared on Victor's face. "Oh, you talk more than the Bat... Good," Zsasz commented.
"Flash," a cold voice called out, belonging to Mr. Freeze, "You've known Batman for years. How could you let him kill my wife? My sweet Nora?"
"Never mind that!" the feral voice of Killer Croc called out. "I've got your scent, speedster! I'll devour your innards and leave the bones to the maggots!"
"Fleet-foot-Flash!" the more chipper voice of the Mad Hatter said, "How goes things? Tralaying with a lovely la-la lady there?"

"In order," Flash replied flatly, "Yes, it would be kind of hard NOT to talk more than he does; I have NO idea who you're talking about, and if you think Bats talks about you all at dinner, you're even crazier than I think you are; I bet you say that to all the girls, handsome; and last but not least..." Pause. "... What?" He turned and looked at the girl. "Could you go wait outside? I actually did come here to check on someone, and we're not going to be able to have a conversation with these morons yelling."

"You insult me, Speedy," the Mad Hatter said, "Asking me to repeat myself to you and your lovely femme."
Zsasz had visibly walked away from the door; apparently, he had felt the need to sleep.
"Femme FATALE," Killer Croc added, "She smells of a bloody mess."
The Riddler spoke up, much more civilized than the others. "Hello, Mr. West," he said quietly, remembering a televised announcement some years ago, when the Flash had made his identity public. "Who is it you're looking for? Oh, don't worry, I doubt Croc or Zsasz, let alone anyone else, heard me say your name; I'd hate to direct their attention away from the Batman forever. Here, how about a game. You answer a riddle, I help you find your person of interest. Deal?"

Flash crossed his arms. The Riddler was someone he HAD dealt with. On several occasions. "No deal, Nigma," he replied flatly, "One, I hate riddles. Two, I know exactly where she is, thank you very much. Three, even if I DIDN'T know where she was, I could just run around this horror show until I found her, which would probably take all of three seconds. So... No. Thanks though."

"Oh, don't be so sure of yourself all the time, Speedster," the Riddler mocked, "Even you have your Kryptonite. Your woman. Your... Wife, now, isn't she?"

Flash blinked. Wife? What the... But... he didn't have... Was that Linda? But they weren't ... Wait... Maybe this was like that thing with Robin. d**k Grayson. He wasn't Nightwing, not yet. He'd been snatched from a point before the present. So... Maybe this was the same sort of thing? "This is the part where I'm supposed beat the crap out of you, isn't it?" he asked finally, still trying to sort things out, "Pass. Have fun playing tic tac toe on your cell wall."

Mary glanced around at the others nervously. She...wasn't quite terrified of them for some reason. Just very uncomfortable. This...she didn't even recognise his costume...this man said to go wait elsewhere. But, she wasn't sure she wanted to wander down the hallway by herself. Even if everyone was in a cell of their own.

((OOOOOH! I just had an idea.))
Flash glanced at her, noted the uncertain look, and sighed. "I guess... the other thing can wait. Where has nothing been happening," he muttered. "San Francisco's been pretty quiet... Cali it is." Without any warning, he scooped the girl up and shot out of the building.

((Actually, I'd be more worried about Deadpool. Mary is NOT a good influence on him.))
