He flinched, suddenly feeling guilty that he'd enjoyed the last few minutes. In his defense, at least, he'd been unaware of the change. A bit weirded out, sure, but when push came to shove, he was, after all, a teenager...and a male one at that. Finding or even wanting logic in such situations was difficult.

Those that knew better, though, and exploited such things about her....well....that sounded like a perfectly scuzball thing to do to someone with a vice they had little control over.

Shifting a bit, he scooted in behind her, fitting his front to the curve of her back.

"She didn't scare me." he said after a moment of holding her that way. "....and if she's not you, I'm not interested in her." What a hell of a night this was turning out to be....so much for relaxing. His emotions felt like they'd been stretched to their limits today, in every possible direction.

....yet somehow, in spite of it, he didn't want to leave.

"Nothing's ruined. I still want to know you, Nani..."

He realized he was staring as she gathered up and then handed him his clothes and looked away with a blush of his own. "Yeah, probably...." he chuckled, realizing he was still in nothing more than his boxers.

Pulling himself to his knees, he shook out his shirt and struggled back into it, hoping all the while she didn't think badly of him for all of this. He was willing to strike it as an "unhappening" if she was....after all, it was nothing a cold shower wouldn't fix.

"You probably are gonna want me to go stake out that guest room after all, huh?" he asked, giving her a sheepish smile.

He'd been in the process of turning the legs of his slacks rightside-out when he looked up at her, dressed for bed, and decided it was a lost cause as he folded them over instead, leaning over to place them on the floor nearby so he would be able to easily find them again.

He was surprised, honestly...he'd have thought she wouldn't have wanted him near her after that fiasco. His mind had already filled itself with images of him staking out a place to sleep in the guest room and then the following morning being filled with awkward silences and a quick goodbye.

That considered, he was not going to question a good thing as he smiled, scooting over to give her room to crawl in as well. "Yeah, I didn't really think so either." he said awkwardly. "It just...." he paused and then shook his head, venting another chuckle. "....it just was hard to say so, I guess."

Another pause, and then "You're very pretty, Nani." he ventured, not wanting her to think he didn't think so, while at the same time hoping it wasn't out of place to say it.

As she settled in beside him, he draped an arm over her, scooting closer so they were nestled against one another, his free hand absently turning over the pillows so that the spots where the water had spilled were no longer a factor.

This was nice. Especially considering he'd never much cared for sharing a bed....but then Tinania was not his sister or one of his parents. She was....well, he didn't know exactly, but she was special.

He leaned in to brush his lips over her cheek before closing his eyes, shifting a bit to get comfortable and try to forcibly banish the adrenaline of the last few minutes that still coursed through his body.

"Just one problem...." he murmured. ".....I have no idea how I'm going to top tonight with the date I still owe you."

He jolted a bit at seeing Rose appear at the bedside to present them with Seiji. Had they been here the entire time...?

His mind played over the last span of minutes and he stifled a groan of embarrassment. Wonderful....well, at least it hadn't gotten any further than it did. And having the small dragonchild with them would be insurance that it wouldn't reach that point again.

He shifted a bit away from her to make sure Seiji had enough room, and then, as sleep came over Nani, he found himself laying awake for a bit, watching the two of them sleep as he replayed the night's events over in his head.

With one thing seeming to roll right into the next, it was hard to decide where exactly he stood with Nani when all was said and done. He liked to think she wasn't keeping hidden reservations to herself about anything and that she felt similarly about him as he felt he was beginning to feel for her.

His hand reached out, tracing a length of golden hair where it lay along her cheek before he pulled back, and settled himself, closing his eyes, his head still abuzz with thoughts well into the wee hours of the morning before he, likewise, drifted off.
