*Facepalm* OF course I know that, Mike, it was my point. They obviously don't really believe when it's reported that they attend for 3 purposes during their lifetime.

MegaTherion777 stressed Deism is the theistic belief that a supreme God exists and created the physical universe, but shall not intervene in its normal operation. It is related to a religious philosophy and movement that claims to derive the existence and nature of God from reason. It takes no position on what God may do outside the universe. That is in contrast to fideism which is found in many forms of Christianity[1], Islamic and Judaic teachings, which hold that religion relies on revelation in sacred scriptures or the testimony of other people as well as reasoning. Deists typically reject most supernatural events (prophecy, miracles) and tend to assert that God does not intervene with the affairs of human life and the natural laws of the universe. What organized religions see as divine revelation and holy books, most deists see as interpretations made by other humans, rather than as authoritative sources. Deists believe that God's greatest gift to humanity is not religion, but the ability to reason. Deism became prominent in the 17th and 18th centuries during the Age of Enlightenment, especially in the United Kingdom, France and the United States, mostly among those raised as Christians who found they could not believe in either a triune God, the divinity of Jesus, miracles, or the inerrancy of scriptures, but who did believe in one god. Initially it did not form any congregations, but in time deism led to the development of other religious groups, such as Unitarianism, which later developed into Unitarian Universalism. It continues to this day in the form of classical deism and modern deism. see wikipedia for moar info Ah, thanks wink

Hatching, Matching, and Dispatching. how can you say that they don't beleive just because they don't attend? they may just not like church, they may choose to worship in a way that they see fit. just because they dont go to church doesnt mean they arent religious.

The point that I didn't make well dude to the fact that I was heavily distracted by TV ADD and birdies, was that they use the church for 3 purposes only. Baptize the kiddies at birth, get married in the church, and hold their funeral there. Other than that zero church attendance or Christian practices.

You know what annoys me in people going to church on Sundays in Poland (some half of them)? - they attend there to show off. Show off their new car, show off their new fur, show that "look, I believe in God". They do not attend because they REALLY believe in God. They attend because "that's what people are supposed to do in Poland". I was baptized, I went through all stages of 'religious education', I can get married at the church without any problems. Though I do not believe in God. The only reason for me to go to a church is a wedding or a funeral. And I do not pray there, I do not cross myself, I do not kneel. I feel that would be blasphemy if I did do that actually. Though that was a decision I was able to make when I was mature enough to think it over... I am only sooooo surprised that the Church in Poland still keeps religion at schools... It was so much better when it was taught right at the church. Kids went there exactly for religion. Now? Kids treat religion as yet another boring class. A class they need to pass and get a good grade at. Not quite what religion is about...

Not quite what religion is about... this is what most of the people from my hometown do (idk about here in oklahoma, as i avoid these bible belt churches like the plague). church is one of the best places to go to find people who are not truly christian, who don't listen to the message of christ, and who dont really give a damn about god, imo. back home, all the church was used for was gossip. hollow - my point is that even with 0 church attendance, there may still be christian practices. you cannot infer one from the other
