"Come on, man. Did you have no childhood?" Anatoly taunted, jumping from one bench to another, still looking for the mentioned ball. "I was just thinking, it'd be a bit ridiculous and kind of sad if we got stranded out here because we can't find that damn ball after beating his test with the dudes out there," he commented with a chuckle.

Emma sighed at the boys and decided to start looking around for a blue thirteen pound ball. It was obvious that she would start her search at the back of the bowling alley where they would store all of their public bowling balls. Having succeeded in finding one, she set her wakeboard down and picked the ball up with a heave. She waddled back over to the boys and dropped the ball on the ground, causing the floor to crack. "I found the ball, now one of you just have to get strikes. And don't bother asking me to try because I can't bowl for beans," Emma commented as she wiped her hands off on her jeans and turned around to retrieve her wakeboard.

Blaine sighed but said nothing in return. He continued to search for the ball and the moment Anatoly wasn't looking, he stepped up on bench before quickly dismounting. He turned over one last ball, it was blue and a large "12" was printed on it, "Damn," he said quietly. He turned when he heard a large bang, it was the bowling ball they needed, "I'll give it a shot." he said, picking up the ball and rubbing it with his shirt to clean it.

"Physics teaching doesn't equate to bowling. I'd probably put it right in the gutter. You can do it, instead. Good luck," Anatoly answered. "You people are no fun," he added, stepping back onto the floor. "You never did that as a kid?"

"Nope," Blaine replied simply, walking up the the bowling lane. He was about to roll when he looked down and noticed he wasn't wearing bowling shoes. He stopped halfway through and walked up to where the bowling shoes were. He found a pair that were crisp and new and tried them one, they fit perfectly. He went back down to the lane and put his hands over the fan they had running on the ball return before picking the ball back up and getting ready to bowl.
He strolled down the lane and let it roll. It struck the pins and left him with a 9-10 split.
He waited patiently for the ball to return as the pins reset.

Emma laughed and opened her mouth to say, "Heck no! When I was a kid, I was always down at the aquarium staring at the fishies, not bowling. Besides, my friends and I don't really like bowling that much. We prefer to do outside activities." Emma sat down on a seat with an exasperated sigh, watching Blaine try and make three strikes in a row afterward.

"No, no. Not bowling, the Floor-is-Lava game," Anatoly clarified with a laugh. "Declaring the ground to be lava is an amazing outdoor game. He turned to Blaine. "Good try. He said strike, not spare, right? Damn." He hadn't waited for an answer. "But seriously. You had no childhood if you never played that game."

Emma thought back to her childhood and shouted OH when she realized that she had played a game like that. "Well, I played something like that, but it wasn't exactly lava. It was chum and shark infested water and we had chum strapped to our bodies with no protection so we couldn't step on the carpet," Emma explained as her eyes went into dreamy mode.

"And you need help if you still play it now." Blaine retorted. The ball came back up and Blaine pick it up and readied himself for another shot. He went down the lane and rolled the ball once more. This time only one pin was remaining.

"Uh huh. Yeah, I need help. You couldn't step over a mass of cracked ground without being blinded," Anatoly retorted sharply.

Blaine sighed and rubbed his eyes with his right hand, "Hey, why don't you just shut up and mind your own business? I'm not the one that landed a kid in the hospital!" Blaine's volume was rising and he currently felt like bashing in Anatoly's head with the bowling ball he held, One more try... he thought, lining up his shot as best he could.
He rolled, it veered to the right and landed in the gutter, getting stuck, "Dammit!" Blaine shouted, he decided to stalk down the alley, grabbing the ball as he went. He went up to the pins and smashed them all down with the ball before returning, "There's your damn strike..." he muttered.

Emma frowned, not enjoying the mood that had just entered the room. "You guys, don't argue, please? Just talk it out like the adults you are with out any biting remarks," Emma offered with a sad face.

Before Anatoly or Blaine could respond, there was a loud rumble. The lane on the left, third from the end, shuddered, and the far end opened up. Obviously, they were supposed to go that way.

"He tried to ******** knife me," Anatoly snapped back. "See how rational you are when someone is trying to gut you like a fish." He stalked off towards the open passage and walked through cautiously.
