Oh. Thank. God. Someone who feels the same as I do. I was getting so frustrated by commenting on other threads here and getting....nothing. It makes me wonder why I bother.
*points you to the complaint department for more of my fussing*
(Going to bed now, but I'd be more then happy to continue chattering. I mean, isn't that what an online community is about?)

Can I blame my internet connection? Out here in the country, the only internet available is through the phone lines- unless you want to fork out $500 for satellite. But yes, I too miss conversations. I just gets frustrating dealing with the lag...

mentioning santa really made me think about something... you guys already know (or i think you do) that santa never was and never will be...but proving he doesn't exist is what's wonderful!
lets see...hehehe
1- there are about 2 billion children in the world, but we must exclude some do to that santa doesn't visit muslims, jewish nor buhddists; thus reducing his work in 18% maybe? so there are like 1.3 billion left, making family standard 4 or 5 = 2-3 kids per home and assuming there is at least 1 good kid per home...so there are at least 500 million homes to visit...
2- santa's got like 31 hours to do his work (thanks to timezones and earth rotation) and that's about 111600 sec, divided by 500million homes gives like 0.0002232 sec to park, get off, enter the chimmeny, fill the hanged boots, distribute gifts under the tree, eat the cookies and milk, go up the chimmeny and get going to the next house!
if we're assuming regular dispertion of homes (just for calculations, not true), santa'd have to travel aprox 1km to the next house (of aprox 500 million) which would mean a 500,051,523.1 km route without rests or bathroom stops. This means that santa's speed is 4,480.74 km/s ON AVERAGE! like 12802.1 times the speed of sound! And that would be just if santa jus threw the presents non-stop. Imagine a present moving at 4,480 km/s on x axis and G acceleration on y axis... ...he'd probably destroy the house...maybe the entire block or city just because of one gift; so he can't throw, he must stop. So santa has to move FASTER than 4,480 km/s to regain all the lost time.
to compare speeds, the fastest known man craft was the Ulysses probe with amazing 43,84 km/s and a standard reign deer about 4-5 m/s.
3- the weight the sleigh can hold is another interesting point. Assuming each kid chose a small size (scientific box) gift (more or less 1 kg), the sled would have to hold up 500 thousand tons (aprox) not counting santa... a 20 ton truck can hold up 15-16 tons, and comparing with the sled, it'd have to weigh like 650 thousand tons. adding both = 1.15 million tons! a standard reign-deer can haul up to 150 kg...a flying reign-deer maybe 10 times that...but even with that, 8 or 9 can't do the job. Santa would need 7.65 million to do so... a reign-deer is like 250 kg adding roughly 1.9125 million tons to the total mass...so total amount would be, roughly, 3.0625 million tons...! that'd be like 392 times the weight of the love cruiser...
4- 3.0625 million tons with 4,480 km/s of speed, only at the start-up there would have to be a force against the air (considering momentum, not air) with a 19,501,465.2069 km/s^2 acceleration; force equivalent to 58,937,719,816,013,568,923.7476609220391 [N]!!!! Imagine all the heat generated by work done by the deers' feet being absorbed by the air and then coming back to the deers' feet.
notice were not taking in account air friction against the sleigh or deers, which would heat em like a space shuttle re-entering earths atmosphere.
the deers would be absorbing 14.6 pentamillion jouls/second, thus vaporizing the two first deer and leaving exposed the next two and creating sonic booms...the entire deer team would be completly vaporized in 4.26 mili seconds, or more or less 4th to 5th house santa visits...
if not taken in accout all of before, santas' deacceleration of 4,480 km/s in 0.001 sec, santa would be subject of 17.5 thousand G's... and if he weighs 150 kg (fat, rosy, more or less his weight), he'd be smashed into the front of his sleigh with 2,315,015 kg-N instantly mashing his bones and internal organs, reducing him to a amorph liquified mass...
so, concluding from a engineers point of view, santa only made 1 trip, and it lasted 4.26 mili seconds at most... and today he's more than dead!!!!
satisfied??

Whoa, extreme teal dear.
I know, Marina. That's what's happening here right now. I'm tempted to turn of the comp and go do something else.

well, there are other things you can do other than spend time in the comp...i myself use it for other things than gaming or chatting...example, learning songs with guitar pro... the pc can't be your world guys, there must be other things to do! you can't depend on conversations here...you gotta go somewhere sometimes...

I have stuff that I should be doing, but I mindlessly wandering instead sweatdrop
I have a nasty cold brewing, so my concerntration levels are minimal. Not the ideal circumstances for trying to get any work done.
I want to just sit around and feel sorry for myself instead ><
